  1. in canon, is there a SWF event that always has a Money in The Bank type stipulation/match? Royal Rumble? Are they called something else?

I don't think there's anything canon, but I think Welcome to the Jungle is supposed to have a battle royal, and I add a Jungle Rumble title that is basically a mix of the Royal Rumble and the Money in the Bank. A 30-man lottery battle royal, and the winner gets a guaranteed title shot for anytime of their choosing for the next year until next year's Supreme Challenge.

  2. The same people who did the Vince Russo plays TEW series (newLegacyInc) also did a series with Manny Faberino, AKA Mansoor, who currently works in NXT. He actually knew how the game worked, and I believe even talked about how he used to play it. He also used to run a twitch stream with Dio Maddin (former RAW commentator and currently in NXT), and Shane Thorne, so there's a chance they've also played TEW.
  3. Generally, growth will be relatively slow for smaller companies only running 1-2 shows a month, but only 2 points in 18 months sounds ridiculous. Have you checked the state of the Wrestling Industry? You might have just gotten very unlucky with that roll. Especially for a company the size of CZCW, consistently putting out 60+ rated events should have you well on your way to Medium if your industry is in a good place.

As long as you continue to put out shows that are ranked higher than your popularity in a region, you should keep growing. CZCW in this game is actually in a really good place for growth. With WrestleWorld opening in March, you should have decent coverage across the United States, and just holding shows in the South West and broadcasting them on WrestleWorld, your pop in at least the North West should be relatively high to make running there not a complete loss.

  4. Thank you, glad to see I'm not totally alone on this, lol. I definitely should be using Freestyle angles, I've been playing long enough, but since most of the default angles in the game usually suited my needs, I never really felt compelled to do so. I suppose there's no better time to learn, though!

Really, though, all I wanted to say is that I'm disappointed the mod-makers (and Adam to some extent, but he has more than enough on his plate, I don't fault him for it) didn't take the extra hour or so it would take just to make sure all the segments in the game are compatible with how the new overhauled ranking system works. But these things happen, no game is perfect; I'll get the hang of it, it's just frustrating when it's not expected.

You don't have to completely forsake the default angles. For ease of use, I've been picking the default angle and filling it out, then if you select the freestyle angle, it'll keep the names you've filled in, and allow you to change what they're rated on.

Thanks guys. Do you like this change?</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Personally, I'm a huge fan. The old pushes system always felt somewhat gamey, and never really felt like it accurately portrayed the way popularity worked in wrestling. It was very finnicky and got to be a chore to constantly be adjusting people's pushes. The new system, while not perfect, seems to be a big step forward in accurately portraying how crowds react to wrestlers, and allowing for more organic and dynamic movement up and down the card.</p>

But it also completely kills the realism of things like surprise debuts or the Mega Powers becoming a thing. Unless he's ALSO removed the penalty for short angles, which I don't believe he did, we're basically hamstrung into always making someone cut a promo, even when that wouldn't necessarily fit the story we're trying to tell.<p> </p><p> I also dispute that an angle involving saving someone from a 5-on-1 beatdown ISN'T rated on Entertainent or fighting or anything, but that's more a fault of the design of the mod I'm using than anything else.</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> I've run multiple short angles based on overness. If they're over enough, the penalty shouldn't be too bad.</p>
  7. I think we should wait to see what Adam has planned for India. We just need to express our excitement for the area for him to see.

I love India, Bollywood Bajit Avatar is awesome. All the new people are great. Starting a company that isn't Important and growing it is fun. Not having the stress of having to compete with other computers allows me to try different things. The new system, where there are no real pushes and just what the fans think, it allows me to do a lot more with my roster and I can reorganize based on who is getting better in the ring faster or who is getting over faster. It's quite fun but because it's a beta version, I can't go all in either.

Glad to see someone else agrees with me! I kinda love India being barren early one, my biggest issue is probably the drought of future talent set to debut. Like, I get that the free pics were an issue, but we only have debuting talent up through February, that's kind of a bummer. Well, that and the lack of Indian referees at the start of the game, that one just seems like a complete oversight. It's hard to blame Adam for that though when my first Indian game I also completely forgot to pick up a referee. :p

In terms of the actual experience though, building up the Indian wrestling scene from scratch is one of the more unique TEW experiences I've had, although I've probably restarted a handful of times now due to the demo time limit.

Essentially a huge war for power is coming and you don't want to be alone for it.</p><p> </p><p> - I will introduce a 4th ring that is so powerful that no single man can posses it. If one single man tried to wear it, the ring would consume his soul. Therefore, the ring's gem was split into three rings. That will be the birth of the Trios Title and it's inception will be the catalyst for factions and teams. I will do this slowly over the span of one year or so. The 4th ring concept will be introduced by a new character I will be bringing in as a time traveler of sorts. </p><p> </p><p> - Another long term story: This one will take place in 1-2 years (or 1-2 months of EILL try to steal either guy LOL) in which Demon King and Guerrero Muerto will eventually fuse into one being by one unmasking/absorbing the other. </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> I am eager to get this company to a larger size so I can go crazy with cinematic matches and convoluted scenarios for matches. I mean, I could do that NOW for a diary, but it would not make sense moneywise.</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> I might just steal all those ideas for my game! <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> I've been loving EMLL so far, but I've run into a problem in that I keep having too many ideas or hiring too many people and then I feel like I have to restart. I think by this point I've restarted my EMLL save around four times, and I still haven't even gotten to Clash of the Multiverse!</p><p> </p><p> I think I've finally worked out a pretty good start though. First thing I did was start up a talent trade, no stealing and excursion relationship with ZEN, and then after that I made them sister companies. I'm definitely planning to run a big double-length special where I bring as many ZEN guys as possible and do a Crisis-type crossover with the ZEN and EMLL universes clashing. </p><p> </p><p> I've brought in Chessmaster as an innocent man who's entire timeline was destroyed by some mysterious force I haven't figured out yet, leaving him as the sole survivor, rescued by the Time Corps. I'm also gonna bring in El Serpiente as a younger alternative timeline version of Snake King, and I think those three will make a good start to my Time Corps stable, who Screamer automatically makes for a great feud. </p><p> </p><p> Since managers/on-screen personalities are surprisingly lacking in EMLL, I'm bringing in Julia Alvarez (mostly because I love her render,) Gabriela Ortega to play Minerva, the goddess of war and also act as sort of a babyface authority figure for EMLL. I'm bringing in Shandi as a pop star from 3,000 years in the future and La Estrella's valet. And finally, I'm bringing in Lucia Valencia who I'll probably just pair with Captain Lucha unless I can think of something better for her. </p><p> </p><p> For new storylines, I'm starting up an Avatar of Elements thing in EMLL, with Dolphin Master as the Avatar of Water, Pyromaniac as the Element of Fire, and I'm planning on bringing in Sunburst as the Avatar of Air and Ajax the Skullsplitter as the Avatar of Earth. I thought of doing a sort of Captain Planet thing with them, but also I have no idea how I could actually make that function in terms of a wrestling show, so I scrapped that idea and I think my current plan is to have all four of them needed to stop the Avatar of Void, my next big heel I'm gonna introduce. (Probably Hysteria, unless I think of someone I'd prefer in the role)</p><p> </p><p> El Toro de Oro Jr, Mustang Blanco Jr, and Payaso Jr are all potentially great signings for young, unsigned luchadors that could fit in well to EMLL. Styx is another one who's not quite as good as the others, but his incredible look means I've picked him up every single game, although he's probably mostly just gonna fill out Demon King's stable at this point. </p><p> </p><p> How is everyone else's multiverses doing?</p>
  10. So EMLL seems ripe for factions and faction wars. Does anyone else see the only singles matches thing as a hindrance to good stroytelling?

Yeah, I gotta agree with you. I get what they're going for with the fighting game thing, but even a lot of modern fighting games have tag team like mechanics, and with the full on comic-book/horror movie style, it feels weird keeping every match to just one on one.

Now I figured I could make a deal with another company for them to accept developmental workers but I always get blocked by the owner as he does not want to be associated with other companies. Is there any way I can convince him to change his mind about that, or is the only way to send my workers to development to do that via Investments by creating my own company and use it development facility?</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> If you just want the facility, you can start up a performance center for a lot less money than a developmental company, but as far as I know, the only way to get a developmental company as USPW would be to use the investment to start one yourself or you could use the editor to change Allen Packer's approach to other companies under his business skills.</p>
  12. <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="James Casey" data-cite="James Casey" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="47568" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>Pictures do get updated - there are many changes from 2016 to 2020, as there were from 2013 to 2016 and so on.<p> </p><p> But not <em>every</em> picture will get changed. Some have been unchanged since at least 2008 (Off the top of my head, Fumihiro Ota has definitely been unchanged since then - but that's almost cheating since he's a masked indy guy - Tommy Cornell and the DeColt and Stone families haven't changed, to use a few more prominent examples). They've become established within the CVerse as those characters' identities, and changing them now would probably cause annoyance - especially as 'better looking' is such a subjective term, anyway. It'll be a long time before I give up my original Jay Chord picture, even if subsequent efforts have been 'better' as his first pic <em>is</em> Jay in my head.</p><p> </p><p> But yes, some have changed - Alicia Strong, Valiant, John Greed, Justin Sensitive, KC Glenn, Jay Chord, the Gauge/Keith twins, Matty Faith, both of the Bumfholes, Ranger, Zoe Ammis, Paige Croft... Just a few characters who've picked up new pictures either in this version or the last.</p><p> </p><p> But the default picture database has over 4,000 pictures for over 2,500 workers. Some of those pictures don't need updating, some probably do (clearly Adam felt some did as he used new pictures for some workers) but there aren't suitable pictures available. I doubt anyone much would care one way or another if Karl Dexter or the other long-time referees got broader stripes on their shirts rather than looking like they've come from a nightclub in 1988, for example, so there's no updated pics for them.</p><p> </p><p> One other thing to consider is that new pictures are looking a lot better - but they're mostly going to new workers. I ported over my picture folder from 2016 because I've been using it since at least 2010 and have a lot of updated/different pictures that Adam hasn't used - but, similarly, there are dozens of workers I had to update with new pictures from the 2020 picture folder.</p><p> </p><p> And there were about 380 workers who I've had to find pictures for, some who've been renamed (Jim Force, say, so I had to update the file names) but there were maybe 300 new workers across the game that I had to move the new pictures into my own folder. </p><p> </p><p> For older workers, the likes of Rich "same picture since 2005" Money, they're going to be retired soon enough. A lot of the characters who *do* have new pictures that I highlighted are young workers who are approaching or are in their prime - the core of the game world in 2016/2020, so it makes sense that Adam would pick out new pictures for them, especially as many of them debuted as teens/early 20s in either 2007 or 2008.</p><p> </p><p> One other thing to consider: The modding community has delivered a <strong>huge</strong> number of new pictures over the years, as you've noted. Many newer pictures in use in the game began life as Thunderverse characters and have been repurposed, others are re-renders of existing characters to give them more detail, bring in a more consistent lighting approach, up their metaphorical Star Quality, create whole new characters (Leper Messiah, for instance, was a drastic overhaul for an existing character based off a Joker-inspired render) or just to show off some new props someone had in their rendering software. All those have been delivered by the community. I'm not aware of Adam specifically requesting any of those - but they've been introduced over time into the game, and over time probably some of <em>those</em> will be replaced in turn.</p><p> </p><p> If graphics ever become a bigger part of the game, as they have been in WMMA which uses full-body renders, then I'd expect a more comprehensive overhaul of the pictures. Until then, I doubt it'll happen. I've been playing Football Manager even longer than I have TEW, and that game doesn't even ship with photos or club badges. For certain games, the graphics just aren't as much of a deal breaker as they would be in a bigger budget title.</p><p> </p><p> TL;DR: The character pictures are unlikely to change significantly between now and release date.</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> I agree with absolutely everything in this post, but now I feel bad for Karl Dexter! <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p>
  13. OK I have a question. Death's Head's bio mentions the Kingdom of Blood but no one else's bio does. Has anyone else seen anything about KoB anywhere?

It seems like it's an off-screen faction Death's Head is a representative of. The game seems to have a few hooks for stables, but none actually set up, with Demon King saying he's going to bring an army to fight Captain Lucha, Death Head and the Kingdom of Blood, and one I haven't seen people mention which might be my favorite, Rey Soldado is the leader of the Time Corps, which sounds absolutely incredible.

  14. Question:

Can anyone figure out how to use the COTT Title on your shows. I can't find a way to have Pablo defend it? It isn't listed in the Titles list when I am booking with him in a match? Not sure if it is a bug or if I am just missing something?

The Alliance Belts button is to the far right on the booking screen, next to the Local Worker and Import buttons.

  15. I've seen that line a few dozen times and hadn't realised it was button until you mentioned it

He's making some very good points. You seem to be aggressive in your responses. No need, man. Chill.

I never tried to be aggressive, I'm just trying to spread the word about how to use the game since a lot of people seem to be confused and are needlessly harsh to the game for things that are really easy to work around or aren't problems once you get used to them.

  16. Your initial response to my post was extremely rude and unnecessary and, again, my post said I COULD do it, but that the process for doing it made no sense and wasn't very user-friendly.

I was not trying to be rude, I was simply stating that it seemed unfair to be so judgemental about the game after you yourself admitted you'd only spent a half-hour with it. You said that there were hidden clickable menus that you had no idea where they were, and I informed you of where the menus you seemed to be confused about were. Again, I'm sorry if I came across as rude, that was never my intention, but your response was completely overboard and unnecessarily harsh towards me, as well as the hardwork of the people who worked on the game.

  17. Oh, you're right. That yellow text that looks like the same yellow text on every worker profile, including the ones that don't work for me that I can't click on. My psychic link to Adam that tells me which text is really a hidden menu and which isn't must be broken. Maybe I can get it fixed before the full version comes out.

I only tried to tell you how to do things you said couldn't be done in the game. I'm sorry if I upset you in some way, I didn't mean to. There's no reason to be so rude about this stuff.

  18. Except it often doesn't open to the relevant section, and is far less helpful than just having question marks near individual buttons.

Personally it's always worked for me, but if it really isn't working, then yeah, that's definitely something that needs to be fixed. For me, I think the handbook allows for a lot more depth than the smaller buttons in 2016, which often could be confusing if you didn't know something because they were usually really short.

  19. You mean the name up at the top of the profile screen written in the exact same font and color as the other text around it so it looks nothing like a button? Which in 16 actually looks like something that's clickable?

Good to know. Thanks for demonstrating my point for me.

What? The name is in bright yellow at the top of the screen compared to black and white everything else? You can click the full "Name is a Age Race Nationality Gender wrestler" sentence at the top. You're now being rude on top of being literally incorrect.

  20. For someone complaining about me not playing enough to be able to criticize you sure are doing a lot of criticizing of my post despite apparently not reading it. I pretty clearly said I found where to change roles, and where I had to click to do that for Eric Eisen makes absolutely no sense, and is difficult to find for anyone that already does have a role assigned.

Maybe if you took the time to read what I said instead of desperately trying to find a way to de-legitimize my criticisms you'd have noticed that.

If you actually read what I wrote, you'd know that you can get to that screen by just clicking on the names of the people on your roster, the way you've always changed character details in TEW games.

And I've been playing since EWR, so I can't imagine how much of a turn-off this game would be for someone trying out the series for the first time. Without some serious fixing I won't be buying, and it makes me really sad to say that, because I was really looking forward to this game.</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Maybe play a little more than half an hour before desperately searching for things to trash about the game, because a lot of your complaints are just pretty much untrue or easy to find work-arounds by just, y'know, playing the game.</p>
  23. Terrible UI, the office section, for example, is unorganized and not streamlined at all like 2016.

Can't scroll using arrow keys, which is really annoying and just not intuitive at all, especially with a game like this where you spend 90% of it looking at rosters and available workers etc.

Currently on the pre-booking screen and I don't see any of the wrestlers or their pictures, or skills, just a list of their names on the left. Assuming that's a bug.

I hate to say it but so far 2020 looks like a stepdown from 2016. I'm not saying this to be mean or negative, I'm saying this because I love this series and I want 2020 to blow me out of the water. I'm not sure if a week is enough time to fix all of these issues, most of which I'm sure I haven't even encountered yet, but this game has a lot of potential so I hope the retail version makes some big improvements.

I've been able to use the arrow keys for scrolling by clicking and selecting the scroll bar itself, have you tried that? After I got that down, the game got a lot more fun.
