  1. What would be the best way to pull off a "cross promotion" show? For example, if I wanted to have a show that was AEW vs. AAA as like a special event, would I just "borrow" all the talent from AAA for one appearance? I remember trying to do this in 2016, and it only let me borrow two or three guys from the other promotion before it was automatically rejecting it because I had "too many of their workers" (or something like that).
  2. I really, REALLY enjoy their show so I'll for sure be reading this one! I hope you can do them justice!
  3. April 1996 Week 2 Superstars Quick Recap: - Issac Yankem defeated Adam Impact - Avatar defeated a Tattooed man named Sanzo with an old Japanese man accompanying him to ringside - Skip defeated a jobber - Billy Gunn and Tatanka got in each other's faces and agreed to settle it in the ring. - Billy Gunn defeated Tatanka Monday Night RAW Coverage! LIVE! from the San Diego Sports Arena in San Diego, California in front of 14,436 fans! - The show begins with Ted DiBiase and Psycho Sid making their way to the ring. Ted tells the crowd that he doesn't care who wins the #1 Contender's match tonight because Sid can beat all four of them at once. Sid gets the mic from Ted and says that he actually hopes Bret will win the match because he really wants to hurt Bret again. Sid says that the Master of the Universe takes on all men and will defeat everyone to stay on top. vs. - The first contest of the night saw Bob Holly take on Chris Jericho. Bob and Chris put on a good match with both men using their rare Monday Night Raw time to their advantage. Bob Holly was actually able to get the victory with a move he called the "Pit Stop". After the match, Bob got a mic and said that he's seen how The Ringmaster has been treating everybody backstage and he doesn't like it. Holly then tells the crowd that he's going to do something about it and take that Intercontinental Title from Ringmaster so that he doesn't have as much power anymore! - Backstage, Dok Hendrix is with Kama. Kama tells Dok that he's the "ultimate" fighter and doesn't back down from any challenge or anybody. Kama says that nobody is as tough as he is and could even stand in the ring and hang with him for more than a few minutes. Savio Vega comes onto the scene and tells Kama that he's wrong. Savio says that growing up on the streets of Puerto Rico, he learned to be tough and fend for himself and that Kama is no stronger than any bully he faced back then. The two men go face-to-face but Dok gets in between them. vs. - Next, Hunter Hearst Helmsley took on Avatar. There's a new aura about Helmsley recently; he seems to be believing himself more and more and he's certinately showing that in the ring. He was easily able to put away Avatar after almost a few minutes with the "Pedigree". After the match, Hunter got on the mic and said that he believed in himself and he knew he could do it. He wanted to share his message with the crowd and that all they have to do is believe in him too and all their worries would go away. Helmsley then introduced his new business partner and personal bodyguard, Mabel! Mabel came down to the ring and said that he would protect Hunter against "non-believers'', like Dude Love. - Backstage, The Undertaker says that he wants the masked man to show himself tonight and he demands that he take off his mask and reveal who he is. Taker says that he has a lot of demons in his past and he wants to see if one of them came back to life. - In the lockeroom, Owen Hart, Yokozuna and Jim Cornette are celebrating. Cornette says that the two have been on a roll recently and that nobody can stop them. Owen agrees and tells Cornette that there's not a better tag-team in the WWF then himself and Yokozuna. Suddenly, Ron Simmons comes into the lockeroom and says that he's heard all the crap that Owen and Cornette said. He said that he's still new to the WWF but he could easily beat them both down. Simmons says he'll find a partner to take on the champs and take their belts from them! Owen and Cornette hide behind Yokozuna who gets right in Simmons face and tells him to bring it on. vs. vs. vs. - The Main Event saw Ahmed Johnson, Bret Hart, Diesel and The Undertaker square off for the #1 Contendership to the WWF Title. This was an amazing main event, with huge stars and lots of big action. All four men really wanted to face Sid and take down the newly crowned WWF champion. During the match, Undertaker almost had it locked up when the lights went out, and came back on to show the masked man has made his entrance with a pipe. He attacked Undertaker and none of the other competitors wanted to go near the crazed man with the pipe. Suddenly, the lights went out and came back on, and the masked man was gone. Undertaker was never able to get back into the match much after that attack. In the end however, Bret Hart was actually able to get the victory by putting Johnson in the Sharpshooter and getting the big man to tap out. Overall, this was a decent show. We really saw several new characters trying to be developed on this show instead of the big stars only. The main event was awesome and probably one of the best matches on RAW this year. This could work for the WWF if they are able to stick with them. The next In Your House has no matches currently scheduled for it but, there's a few obvious matches that will take place. Let's hope that the WWF can make some new stars while keeping the ones they have and work together to take down WCW. This show gets a B-. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Monday Night RAW Preview! - Bob Holly vs. Skip - Ahmed Johnson vs. Yokozuna - Diesel vs. Dude Love - PLUS! Ron Simmons finds his partner for In Your House! - PLUS! Bret Hart and Psycho Sid go face to face!

Michaels says that he won’t be gone for long and that before you know it, he’ll be back and bringing his high flying style back to the WWF.</p><p> </p><p> <img alt="UFJdLYK.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/UFJdLYK.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> vs. <img alt="cikshUu.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/cikshUu.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> - Our second match saw <strong>Ron Simmons take on 1-2-3 Kid</strong>. A real matchup clash, both men tried to wrestle their style of match and for whatever reason, it didn’t really work. Kid went high and tried to fly around Simmons whereas Ron tried to keep 1-2-3 Kid on the ground for the entire match. Thankfully, the match ended when Simmons hit his Dominator finishing move and got the victory.</p><p> </p><p> - <strong>Bret Hart</strong> came down to the ring with his ribs taped up. He tells the fans that he’s sorry and that he feels like he let everyone down by losing the WWF title last night. Bret tells the fans that he’s injured after the match, and wasn’t even sure that he was going to be able to come out tonight. However, Bret felt that he needed to, in order to show the fans that he’s a fighter and that he’s ready to get back at Sid and get another shot real soon.</p><p> </p><p> - Backstage, <strong>Hunter Hearst Helmsley was with Dok Hendrix</strong>. Helmsley was in a very different mood tonight, and told Dok that he’s got a new sense of “power” behind him and that he’s finally seen the light after defeating Dude Love at Wrestlemania. Hunter tells Dok that he’s got the “Spirit of Helmsley” and that he wants to share his new gift with the world.</p><p> </p><p> - On the screen, <strong>Gorilla Monsoon</strong> tells the fans that we will see a Number 1 Contenders match for the WWF title next week! Monsoon tells the crowd that either Ahmed Johnson, Diesel, Bret Hart or The Undertaker will get a WWF title match at the next In Your House show if they can outlast the other three men.</p><p> </p><p> - Speaking of <strong>The Undertaker</strong>, he comes storming down to the ring. Undertaker says that he’s glad that he vanquished Goldust at Wrestlemania but is very upset that he was attacked after his match. Taker demands that the coward who attacked him show his face but nothing happens. Undertaker then tells his masked assailant that his days are numbered and that he’ll find out who he is sooner or later.</p><p> </p><p> <img alt="PBGXzTb.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/PBGXzTb.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> vs. <img alt="TH9Tiqc.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/TH9Tiqc.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> - Our Main Event saw Owen Hart take on Dude Love. Both men really gave it their all in the match and wanted to put on a good showing for the fans. They really had a good chemistry and it seemed as though neither could get the advantage easily. At one point, Owen had Love locked into a Sharpshooter but, Love was able to actually dance on his hands to help him get to the rope and break out. In the end, Owen was able to be the better man and pin Dude for the victory after a Piledriver.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> Overall, a pretty good Post-Wrestlemania show. This was a solid mix of matches and storylines, building to some new while keeping some potentially going. One of the biggest misses on the night was the absence of Diesel. He was really going strong after defeating Shawn Michaels at Wrestlemania but we didn’t see him at all. There has to be more of a focus on the top 7-8 guys on these shows if they ever want to compete with WCW in the ratings. This show gets a B-.</p><p> --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------</p><p> Monday Night RAW Preview!</p><p> </p><p> - #1 Contender's Match for the WWF Title: Bret Hart vs. Diesel vs. The Undertaker vs. Ahmed Johnson</p><p> - Hunter Hearst Helmsley vs. Avatar</p><p> - PLUS! 5. Wrestlemania Coverage! LIVE! From the Heartland of America in front of 48,759 fans! - The show kicked off with a huge video package highlighting the main event matches that we’ll be seeing. The announcer says that Wrestlemania is a finale to so many things but also a new beginning. vs. - The opening contest of Wrestlemania is The Ringmaster defending the Intercontinental Title against Ron Simmons. Both men were giving it their all to bring the crowd up for the major event that’s starting to unfold. Ringmaster dominated the early going of the match but Simmons was able to hold his own and actually almost win a couple of times. However, in the end, The Ringmaster was able to use his skills to outsmart Simmons and got a Stunner for the victory and retained the title. - Next, we see a split screen of Bret Hart and Psycho Sid. They are in two different areas of the building and they both talk about how each other is going to win the match tonight. Bret says he’s doing it for the fans and Sid says it’s his destiny to become Master of the Universe. - Backstage, Shawn Michaels is taping his knee up for his match with Diesel later and Roddy Piper comes into the locker room. He says that he knows that Michaels is hurt but Piper also knows that Michaels is one of the best superstars in the WWF and is ready to go out there and get the victory over his former friend. - Next was a “Wrestlemania Battle Royal”. The competitors were 1-2-3 Kid, Avatar, Barry Horowitz, Bob Holly, Chris Jericho, Duke Droese, Hakushi, Henry O Godwin, Issac Yankem, Justin Bradshaw, Kama, Phatu, Savio Vega, Skip and Tatanka. All 15 WWF Superstars in this match were vying for that big moment on the biggest stage of the year. Everyone was trying to work together to throw out the bigger threats. The final two men were Kama and Bob Holly, and both tough men slugged it out for quite awhile. Kama was able to finally knock out Holly with a stiff right hand and picked him up and dumped him over the rope for the victory. vs. - Our next contest was the WWF Tag-Team title match as Owen Hart and Yokozuna defended against The Smoking Gunns. Owen and Yoko were ready to defend their belts and the Smoking Gunns were definitely ready to get them back. Both Bart and Billy worked over Yokozuna for most of the match, trying to get the big man off his feet. Owen also made his way into the match, working with Yoko on several big spots that almost put away the Gunns. By the end of the match, Billy almost had Yokozuna down off his feet but Yokozuna was just too strong and hit a final Banzai Drop for the victory. vs. - Next, a video package played before the match between Ahmed Johnson and Jerry Lawler. This was a strap match that Johnson devised so that Lawler could not run away. If Johnson loses the match, he has to be the assistant of Lawler for 30 days. This was a rough match, with both men taking advantage of the strap to use as a weapon. Johnson was able to use his power advantage several times, pulling Lawler closer to him by just pulling on the strap. By the end of the match, Ahmed was finally able to put away his foe with a Pearl River Plunge for the victory. - Before the next match, Diesel said that he’s finally ready to take down Shawn Michaels and get rid of him forever. He’s ready to make an impact in the WWF on his own and doesn’t need HBK to hold him back anymore. He knows that Shawn has a hurt knee and he’s going to make that his target for the match. vs. - Finally, we see Diesel and Shawn Michaels face off. Both men have been waiting months for this match and it did not disappoint. Shawn was trying to get offense together but every time he did, Diesel simply kicked the leg out from under him or hit his knee to take him down. Michaels fought brilliantly throughout, taking it to Diesel several moments in the matchup and almost beating him a few times. There was a major spot in the match where Shawn Michaels was actually able to hit a splash on Diesel to the outside. The injury did end up being a major factor in this match however, as the end of the match saw Michaels go for his Sweet Chin Music on Diesel but when he planted his leg, there was a snap sound and Michaels crumpled to the mat and the referee checked on HBK and decided that he couldn’t move anymore and called for the bell to give Diesel the victory. After the match, a stretcher came down to take Michaels away as Diesel watched on, looming over Michaels and said that he brought this on himself. vs. - The following match was the Casket Match between The Undertaker and Goldust. There was a huge entrance for Undertaker, as he was flanked by druids who carried the casket to the ring for him. Goldust quickly showed that he was ready for the task and almost put Undertaker into the casket straight away. The two men had a huge brawl that went all around the ring and the casket was used as a weapon several times. Goldust actually had The Undertaker in the casket at one point and went to shut the lid but Undertaker sat straight up and grabbed Goldust and pulled him into the casket. When The Undertaker went to close the lid, that gave Goldust time to sit up just like Undertaker did and grab him by the throat. At the end of the match, Goldust went to hit Undertaker with a chair, but Undertaker ducked and hit Goldust to make him drop the chair. Undertaker then got Goldust up for a Tombstone Piledriver right onto the chair, and rolled Goldust into the casket and closed the lid to get the victory. - After the match was over, a masked man came from the crowd with a pipe and attacked Undertaker. The man dressed in all black hit Taker repeatedly with the pipe and choked him with it. Security came rushing to the ring but the masked man jumped out of the ring, over the barrier into the crowd and ran away. vs. - Next, Dude Love and Hunter Hearst Helmsley faced off. The two men gave it a good match with both men getting in roughly the same amount of offense. Helmsley wanted to take it to Love to prove that the WWF isn’t the place for “dancing freaks”. By the end, Helmsley was able to get his wish and put away Dude Love with a new move dubbed the “Final Statement” for the victory. vs. - At long last, the Main Event was finally here! A video package played before the match, showing the struggle and build to this major clash. Finally, it was time to see Bret Hart and Psycho Sid square off for the WWF Title. Both men had a gameplan; Sid wanted to overpower Bret and Bret wanted to use his technical ability to ground the big man. At first, Bret was able to get his gameplan working by exploiting the legs of Sid to keep the big man off his feet. Bret was able to actually lock in the Ringpost Leg Lock, much to the great pain of Psycho Sid. However, Sid was able to hit a big Powerbomb to turn the tide of the match into his favor. Sid then beat down Bret Hart with simple but effective moves to make sure that Bret couldn’t stand either. Ted DiBiase tried to get involved in the match but, he wasn’t sneaky enough and the referee caught him and threw him out from ringside. The final moments of the match saw Bret get a desperate Sharpshooter locked in on Sid. Sid was trying everything he could imagine to get out of the hold and was finally able to by rolling Bret over and pushed Bret into the turnbuckles several times until Bret released the hold. Sid was then able to get Bret up for a chokeslam and pinned Bret to become the new WWF champion! Psycho Sid then celebrated on all four turnbuckles as the show went off the air. http://www.wwe.com/f/styles/wwe_large/public/video/thumb/2012/05/19970217_bhart_sid.jpg Overall, one of the best shows for the WWF this year. All of the final clashes between these rivals paid off spectacularly. There were lots of twists and turns throughout the night and the fans were loving every minute of it. All of the matches really paid off and allowed the stars to form. This show gets a B+ and maybe this show is the stepping off point to ignite the WWF in the war against WCW. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Monday Night RAW Preview! - Savio Vega vs. Kama - Ron Simmons vs. 1-2-3 Kid - Owen Hart vs. Dude Love - PLUS! We hear from the NEW WWF Champion Psycho Sid! - PLUS! WWF President Gorilla Monsoon makes an announcement for #1 Contendership! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Thanks to all those that have read this far! I hope you guys enjoyed Wrestlemania! I'd love to hear some feedback if you have the chance, it means a lot to me. I'm just surprised that this has been as successful as it has been. I enjoy doing this and I'm really looking forward to showing you guys what's next!
  6. March 1996 Week 4: Quick Notes: The WWF gave try out contracts to several new potential superstars this week. There’s no talk of any of them getting on TV, they’ll probably just be in dark matches. We’ll see if any of them actually pan out into new stars. WWF Superstars Quick Recap: Billy Gunn said he’s ready to uphold the Gunn team by easily defeating a very tall jobber Dude Love told the crowd he loved them and wanted to show the world that there’s still dancing fools out there before defeating Justin Bradshaw in a surprisingly good match Bob Holly and Kama cut promos on each other before deciding to settle it in the ring and Kama won with a submission Monday Night RAW Coverage! From the Reunion Arena in Dallas Texas in front of 14,311 fans! - The show kicked off with Shawn Michaels coming to the ring. He tells the crowd that he’s still pretty injured and that he’s really not supposed to wrestle until his knee heals fully. He really wants to get his revenge and prove himself against Diesel so he tells the crowd that his match with Diesel is still on. HBK says that nothing will stop him from proving to Diesel that he’s got what it takes to back up his cockiness. vs. - The first match of the night saw Dude Love take on Tananka. This was a standard match between two men who are looking to build momentum in the WWF. Dude Love almost put away Tantanka away with a top rope splash but the Buffalo Man kicked out. At the end of the match, Hunter Hearst Helmsley made his way to ringside and with the referee distracted, he slid into the ring and tried to hit Dude in the face but the Dude blocked it and pushed him into Tatanka. Dude Love was able to hit The Love Below for the victory shortly after that. After the match, Helmsley came back into the ring with a chair and beat down Dude Love. He then celebrated over the body of Love as we cut to the next segment. - Todd Pettengill was backstage with Jerry Lawler, who told him that he’s ready to face Ahmed Johnson at Wrestlemania. Lawler says that he knows it will be tough to defeat Johnson with the strap on him but, Lawler has been in several strap matches in the past and knows the best strategy to defeat Johnson. Jerry also tells Todd that he’s ready to have another assistant to help him with the laundry, cooking and cleaning of his giant house. vs. - The second match saw Kama and Bob Holly face off. This was a decent match with both men getting in good offense. By the end, Kama was able to overpower Holly and get him in a submission for the victory. - Next, a video package played that highlighted the feud between The Undertaker and Goldust. Both men say they are ready to do whatever it takes to defeat their opponent at Wrestlemania. vs. - The Main Event match saw Owen Hart take on Ron Simmons. Ron hasn’t been around long in the WWF but he is fitting in nicely and taking on the main stars straight away. Despite being smaller, Owen was able to move around Ron and get into the right spots to hit the right moves. Towards the end of the match, The Ringmaster came down and taunted Ron Simmons with the Intercontinental Title belt, allowing Owen to hit Ron from behind and get the rollup victory. Owen and Ringmaster celebrated as Simmons chased down Ringmaster to the back. - Finally, we get a contract signing between Bret Hart and Psycho Sid for their Wrestlemania Main Event match coming up Sunday. Bret comes down and simply signs the contract. Ted DiBiase goes to sign the contract for Sid but Sid blocks him and tells Bret that now he’s signed the contract, his WWF title run is basically over. Sid tells Hart that he’s going to make sure he feels every shot and that he’s ready to vanquish Bret from the WWF. Sid signs the contract and the two men go face-to-face before Sid tries to deck Bret with a big right. A brawl breaks out between the two men and security and management have to come down to break up the fight as we go off the air. Overall, this is somewhat of a disappointing show. The biggest show of the year is a few days away and it doesn’t feel that way. They still are having matches that don’t mean much on these shows, hopefully leading to the bigger matches that people actually want to see. Also, there was no build for the tag-team title match and Diesel didn’t even appear on the show. It remains to be seen if the WWF are going to have a good show in a few days. The matches should be good but if they keep going like this on the RAW’s, then they might be in trouble against the ever-growing WCW. This show gets a C. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- WWF Wrestlemania 12! WWF Title Match: Bret Hart defending vs. Psycho Sid WWF Intercontinental Title Match: The Ringmaster defending vs. Ron Simmons WWF Tag-Team Title Match: The Smoking Gunns defending vs. Owen Hart and Yokozuna Diesel vs. Shawn Michaels Strap Match: Ahmed Johnson vs. Jerry Lawler Casket Match: The Undertaker vs. Goldust Hunter Hearst Helmsley vs. Dude Love Wrestlemania Battle Royal! I'd love to see some predictions for who you guys think are going to win! Wrestlemania is my longest show that I've written so far, I hope you guys enjoy it!
  7. March 1996 Week 3: Quick Notes: Both Razor Ramon and Diesel were able to resign their contracts to keep them with the WWF. The two were favored by WCW to make the jump but they decided to stay with the WWF and continue their careers there. WWF Superstars Quick Results: - Ted DiBiase and Psycho Sid tell the crowd that things are going to change when Sid becomes Master of the Universe - Chris Jericho defeated Avatar - Dude Love runs into Hunter Hearst Helmsley and invites him to a “Love Summit” on RAW to discuss their differences - The Bodydonnas defeated two jobbers - Savio Vega and Takanka cut dueling promos on each other before facing off in a match where Savio Vega got the victory Monday Night RAW Coverage! LIVE! From Madison Square Garden in New York City in front of 19,382 fans! - The show kicks off with Bret Hart coming to the ring. He tells the crowd that he’s looking forward to defeating Psycho Sid at Wrestlemania. Bret tells everyone that the time for talking is almost over and the time for action is upon us. Hart says he feels suitably prepared for anything that Sid would throw at him and he’s ready to retain the WWF Title and continue his reign as the champion. vs. - Our first match of the night saw Jerry Lawler take on Phatu. It was a warm up for Lawler, who is looking to defeat Ahmed Johnson at Wrestlemania and have a new assistant for 30 days. Phatu was able to keep Lawler grounded for a lot of the match because of his size advantage. Lawler was able to outsmart him at the end however, and was actually able to put down the big man with a Piledriver for the victory. - Backstage, a set was in place that had couches a tye-dye everything as Dude Love set up his “Love Summit” for himself at Hunter Hearst Helmsley. Love invited Hunter to sit down and discuss how they feel about each other. Helmsley had none of it and told Dude that there was no reason a “dancing freak” should even be in the same room as himself. Dude tried to tell Hunter that he loved him but Helmsley had none of it and attacked Dude Love with one of the chairs on set. vs. - The second match of the evening saw Diesel take on Bob Holly. Although this was a clear mismatch in size, the two men put on a very entertaining match. Diesel was the clear favorite going in but Holly was actually able to hold his own and almost got the victory several times. In the end, Diesel was just too strong and too much for Holly and put him away with a Jackknife Powerbomb for the victory. After the match, Diesel tried to attack Holly and wanted to make an example of him. Shawn Michaels then came down to the ring to try and save Holly but once he got into the ring, his knee gave out and couldn’t get back up. Diesel went to attack Shawn but instead, he just laughed at him and walked away as trainers came down to help Shawn. - In the back, The Ringmaster was again up to no good and causing problems. He flipped a catering table and then laughed as the poor caterer cleaned it up. Ron Simmons showed up again and once again told Ringmaster he doesn’t like bullies and that he should pick on someone his own size. Ron then challenged Ringmaster to a match at Wrestlemania for the Intercontinental Title. Ringmaster agreed and the two men got in each others faces before security came to break them up. - Goldust then came down to the ring. He said that last week, he ran away because he just remembered he left something in the back and not that he was afraid of a casket. However, once he mentioned the casket, it was wheeled out to the ring again. This time, Goldust went over and opened it, and a hand came out from inside and was able to pull him in. The casket shook and moved as it was wheeled to the back. vs. - The Main Event saw Bret Hart teaming with The Smoking Gunns to take on Psycho Sid, Owen Hart and Yokozuna. This was a giant match, with everyone really trying to get one over on their Wrestlemania opponents. At one point, Bret was the legal man with Owen Hart and Bret did not want to fight his brother. Psycho Sid was also trying to get the momentum on his side by almost single-handedly taking out both Smoking Gunns. By the end of the match, Sid was tired of playing by the rules and went after Bret even though Sid was not the legal man. Sid beat down Hart so bad that the referee had to call for the bell and throw the match out. An explosive brawl broke out between the six men and security had to come down and break the men apart to end the show. Overall, this was a much better show from the WWF than we’ve seen. There were fewer matches, but they really all told good stories and helped push the storylines going into Wrestlemania. It will be interesting to see if Shawn Michael’s potential new injury will hinder him in his match with Diesel that’s upcoming. There were also fewer segments on the show than normal, which is a good thing because it allows the stories to have more time and more room to develop. The card for Wrestlemania is set and ready to go and the WWF are really hoping that they have a great show on their hands and that it sets them up for the year nicely. This show gets a solid B-. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Preview of the next Monday Night RAW!! - Tatanka vs. Dude Love - Kama vs. Bob Holly - Owen Hart vs. Ron Simmons - PLUS! Contract signing between Psycho Sid and Bret Hart! - PLUS! Shawn Michaels addresses his injury and Wrestlemania status! All of this and more, next time on MONDAY NIGHT RAW!!!!!

Appreciate all of you.</p><p> --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------</p><p> March 1996 Week 2:</p><p> </p><p> Quick Notes:</p><p> - Injury update on Shawn Michaels! It appears that HBK has a slight Tear in his knee. From the Ottawa Civic Centre in Ottawa, Ontario Canada in front of 10,000 fans!</p><p> </p><p> - The show kicks off with <strong>Ted DiBiase and Psycho Sid</strong> in the ring. Ted tells the crowd that he knows everyone is excited to see the “Candadian Hero” tonight, and so he was able to book him a “Wrestlemania Warm-Up match” by offering a nice sum to the WWF Management. Sid gets the mic and tells the crowd that he hates Canada and he won’t wrestle here once he defeats Bret Hart and becomes Master of the Universe.</p><p> </p><p> <img alt="VCF6kNm.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/VCF6kNm.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> vs. <img alt="SUHeI7M.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/SUHeI7M.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> - Our first match of the evening saw<strong> Hunter Hearst Helmsley take on Bob Holly</strong>. Both men were evenly matched and Bob really wanted to get a breakthrough win against Helmsley. Hunter was just too much for Bob however, and was able to get the victory with a “Pedigree”. After the match, Helmsley got the mic and said that he just showed the crowd how a real star behaves and didn’t do any dancing. He said that Dude Love is a phoney and doesn’t belong in the WWF because the WWF is for serious competitors only.</p><p> </p><p> - <strong>Ahmed Johnson</strong> is backstage. He said that Lawler still hasn’t committed to their Strap Match at Wrestlemania. Johnson then says that he’ll throw in the offer that if he loses, he’ll be Lawler’s personal assistant for 30 days and help him in the WWF in whatever way he wants.</p><p> - There’s a short video package next, covering the injury of <strong>Shawn Michaels</strong>. We see footage of it from last week and his trip to the doctor. Shawn’s doctor said that he should be able to compete at Wrestlemania but he has to take it easy before then and doesn’t want him anywhere near the ring unless he absolutely has to be.</p><p> </p><p> <img alt="ETAI2An.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/ETAI2An.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> vs. <img alt="GCjx1mS.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/GCjx1mS.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> - The second match of the night saw <strong>Kama take on Savio Vega</strong>. Kama has been on a roll lately and wanted to keep it going against a more formidable opponent in Savio. Vega gave it a good shot but Kama was just overpowering Savio at every turn. Eventually, Kama was able to lock in a submission hold and made Savio Vega tap out for the victory.</p><p> </p><p> - Next,<strong> Goldust</strong> came down to the ring. He told the crowd that he’s ready to face Undertaker at Wrestlemania and isn’t afraid of the caskets or facing his own doom. Suddenly, a group of men wearing robes pushed a large casket down to the ring. Goldust said that didn’t scare him and that he’s going to get into it now, to prove his point. He went to open it and Undertaker was inside! Goldust jumped and then ran to the back as Taker sat up and laughed.</p><p> </p><p> <img alt="2STWDC8.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/2STWDC8.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> vs. <img alt="PBGXzTb.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/PBGXzTb.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> - <strong>Owen Hart and Ahmed Johnson squared off next</strong>. This was a much better match than the previous two, with Owen being a good foil to the bigger and stronger Johnson. Owen was flying all over the ring whereas Johnson was trying to use his power to his advantage. At the end of the match, Johnson had Owen in the spot for the Pearl River Plunge but Jerry Lawler came to the ring and distracted the referee. This allowed Owen to get down and hit Johnson from behind and roll him up for the quick three count.</p><p> </p><p> - Backstage, <strong>The Ringmaster</strong> was showing off his Intercontinental Title and telling everyone that he can do whatever he wants and nobody can stop him. He knocks over a catering table and laughs at the men who start to pick it up. However, we see <strong>Ron Simmons</strong> appear and tell Ringmaster that he doesn’t like bullies and that he has no problem taking that title from him. The two men go nose-to-nose before Ringmaster finally backs down.</p><p> </p><p> <img alt="0I6XE8b.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/0I6XE8b.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> vs. <img alt="RBKwuNh.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/RBKwuNh.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="sWOmzYB.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/sWOmzYB.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> - Our Main Event saw <strong>Bret Hart in his “Wrestlemania Warm-Up” match that Ted booked for him turn into a handicap match where he had to face Jerry Lawler and Issac Yankem</strong>. Bret was upset at the idea of facing two men but was able to hold his own for a good portion of the match. Bret used the strategy of focusing more on Lawler and making sure he stayed away from Yankem. Lawler however, was too crafty for that and was able to get the advantage closer to the end of the match. Right at the end, Bret was finally able to get a submission locked in on Lawler and suddenly, Psycho Sid came from out of the crowd and attacked Bret, causing the referee to call for the bell. Sid, Lawler and Yankem then beat down Bret, much to the delight of Ted DiBiase. All three men celebrated after they conquered the champion.</p><p> </p><p> Overall, this was a below average show. A lot of the segments just fell flat on the Canadian crowd for whatever reason. It was not a good show, as the wrestling was mostly bad (except for the performances of Owen and Bret obviously) and there wasn’t a lot of build going into Wrestlemania. We barely saw Shawn Michaels, didn’t see Diesel at all, and barely saw Psycho Sid. These three men have huge matches at the biggest show of the year and they were largely kept off the show. The WWF really needs to focus more on their bigger stars. This show gets a C.</p><p> --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------</p><p> Preview of the next Monday Night RAW!!</p><p> - Bret Hart and the Smoking Gunns vs. Psycho Sid, Owen Hart and Yokzuna</p><p> - Jerry Lawler vs. Phatu</p><p> - Diesel vs. Bob Holly</p><p> - PLUS! A "Love Summit" with Hunter Hearst Helmsley and Dude Love!</p><p> - PLUS! 9. March 1996 Week 1: Quick Notes: - The big notes coming out of this week is that Jeff Jarrett has been stolen by WCW for the WWF. There’s no word on when Jarrett will start with the other company but the WWF can’t be happy that another one of their top stars. - Not to be outdone, there’s a WCW superstar whose contract is up and he’s considering moving to the WWF. It’s not clear if this man is on the same level as Jarrett but, we’ll have to wait and see. - Further contract news, several key WWF stars have expiring contracts and the WWF will do everything they can to keep them. WCW would be more than willing to take them so the WWF is going to have to offer big money deals to keep them. - Before the show on Monday night, it was reported that Bob Holly got in the face of Dude Love and started telling him that he wasn’t worthy of being in the WWF. The two men got into it and had to be pulled apart by security. WWF Management took Bob and sat him down and gave him a stern warning to not be a jerk to new talent and that everyone is welcome in the WWF. Holly was not having it and said that he’s still going to make sure the new guys “know their place”. We’ll see if anything unfolds from this. WWF Superstars Quick Recap: - The Smoking Gunns defeated Justin Bradshaw and Chris Jericho - A brawl breaks out backstage between Dude Love and Hunter Hearst Helmsley, sparked when Dude asked Helmsley to dance - Zip defeated Hakushi in a “Who Booked This $%!*” Match - Issac Yankem put the drill to Aldo Montoya and got the win - Kama seemed confident going into his match with Dude Love - Kama defeated Dude Love with the help of Hunter Hearst Helmsley attacking Love behind the referee’s back Monday Night RAW Coverage! LIVE! From the Richmond Coliseum in Virginia in front of 13,000 fans! - The show starts with Bret Hart in the ring. He says that he is ready for Sid and that he can defeat him. Bret is used to wrestling bigger guys all his life and Psycho Sid is no different. Sid then comes to the ring with Ted DiBiase and Ted tries to talk but Sid grabs the mic. Sid tells Bret that he better count the days with the WWF titles as blessings because he’s going to ascend to the stars and become the master of the universe shortly. Bret then goes to attack Sid and the two men brawl as security has to seperate them. - Backstage, Ron Simmons tells the crowd that he’s happy to be in the WWF but unhappy that there’s a bully in the locker room. He challenges Diesel to a match later to prove who the biggest tough man really is. vs. - The first match of the night kicked off as Jerry Lawler teamed with Owen Hart and Yokozuna to take on Ahmed Johnson and the Smoking Gunns. All six men wanted to get their hands on each other and it was a wild match from the start. Lawler still ran from Ahmed at every chance he got and Johnson was more focused on Lawler than the tag-team champs. By the end, Owen and Yoko were able to stop the big man from chasing Lawler by working his legs until Owen finally got him in the Sharpshooter and forced Ahmed to tap out. - We see The Ringmaster backstage with his Intercontinental Title belt. Ringmaster shows everyone and they all give him respect, mostly because they are afraid of Ringmaster. When The Ringmaster meets up with Duke Droese however, he makes Drosse bow and when he doesn’t, Ringmaster beats him down and leaves him in a broken pile. - Dude Love was on screen next and was dancing away in the locker room. Hunter Hearst Helmsley entered the room to find Dude and said that he shouldn’t be doing that and he should have more respect for himself. The Love Machine said that he does Love himself and that Hunter should come over and dance and show himself some Love too. Helmsley was clearly having none of it so he left the locker room in disgust. vs. - The next match was Shawn Michaels taking on Hunter Hearst Helmsley. Helmsley was trying to shake off what he just saw and get his shot to defeat Michaels. There was a great flow to the match and it’s clear that the two men worked hard to defeat the other. At one point, Shawn went for a Splash from the top rope and Hunter moved and Shawn landed very awkwardly on his knee. Michaels worked through the rest of the match and surprisingly was able to hit a Sweet Chin Music for the victory. - Next, The Undertaker came down to the ring with a huge covered object. He said that Goldust is really getting in his way and that he really needs to put Goldust to rest so he made an item to help him with that. The sheet is taken off to reveal a casket. Undertaker tells Goldust that he’s going to put him in this at Wrestlemania. vs. - The Main Event match saw Diesel accept Ron Simmons challenge and face him one-on-one. Diesel was very strong here but the newcomer to the WWF showed that he won’t be a pushover. Simmons almost got the victory at one point by hitting a giant Powerslam on Diesel but he kicked out. Shawn Michaels came down to the ring to cheer on Simmons and when the referee was turned around, Michaels tried to get into the ring and attack Diesel but his knee gave out. Diesel threw Michaels out of the ring and when Simmons went to check on HBK, Diesel capitalized and hit a Jackknife Powerbomb on Simmons for the victory. Overall, another good showing of RAW. There were a lot fewer matches than normal but that actually worked in their favor tonight. They were able to shape the Wrestlemania storylines even more and that helped them out quite a bit. It seems that Michaels really injured himself so, we’ll have to see how badly and if it will affect his time in the ring. Hopefully the WWF can keep this momentum up and ride it all the way to Wrestlemania. This show gets a solid B. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Preview of the next Monday Night RAW!! - Hunter Hearst Helmsley vs. Bob Holly - Kama vs. Savio Vega - PLUS! Injury update on Shawn Michaels - PLUS! Ted DiBiase has a surprise for Bret Hart! All of this and more, next time on MONDAY NIGHT RAW!!!!!
  10. Feburary 1996 Week 4 Quick Notes: There’s a rumor going around that another WWF Superstar is about to make the jump and join British Bulldog in WCW. I won’t say who it is but it’ll be surprising if he does, considering who he is and who’s aligned with him. WWF Superstars Quick Recap: - Savio Vega defeated Justin Bradshaw - The Smoking Gunns tell the crowd they are looking to get back on track. They go out and immediately lose to 1-2-3 Kid and the new IC champion, The Ringmaster. - Dude Love wrestles Chris Jericho and again comes out on top. - Phatu and Tatanka get into a fight backstage before their match and Phatu is able to defeat Tatanka. Monday Night RAW Coverage! In Front of 12,238 fans in the Rose Garden in Portland Oregon! -The show starts with Ted DiBiase and Psycho Sid coming down to the ring. Ted tells the crowd that the reason he had Sid beat down Bret Hart after his match last night was to send a message. Sid then grabbed the mic and said that it was part of his plan to become the master of the universe and that Bret’s days are numbered and he needs to watch his back because if he can do that to him last night, he’s not ready to get into the ring with him. vs. The first match of the night saw Kama take on Barry Horowitz. This was thankfully a quick match and really showed the power and strength of Kama as he easily won with a shoulderbreaker. - In the ring next, Owen Hart, Yokozuna and Jim Cornette came down and celebrated their title victory last night at In Your House. Owen said that it felt good to be a champ again in the WWF and that he and Yokozuna were back where they belonged. The Smoking Gunns came out and said that they want another shot and that Owen and Yoko got lucky last night. Cornette tells the Gunns that they aren’t getting another shot until they can show him that they mean business. vs. - Our next match saw the Monday Night RAW debut of Dude Love against 1-2-3 Kid. Dude was really showcasing his dancing ability in this match and also was really able to take it to Kid. Kid held his own but by the end, Dude hit the “Love Below” for the victory. After the match, Dude Love requested that the lights go down and he began to dance in the ring. Hunter Hearst Helmsley watched backstage and was disgusted by what he saw. - Next in the ring, Shawn Michaels and Ron Simmons came out. Shawn thanked Simmons for coming thru on such a late notice and help him out last night and Simmons was appreciative. Michaels then told Diesel to take a look because that’s what a real friend does. Shawn said that there’s nothing left between he and Diesel except for their match at Wrestlemania and he’s going to prove why he’s the best in the WWF by defeating Diesel. Suddenly, Diesel came out from backstage and attacked Ron Simmons. He beat Simmons down and Shawn tried to help Ron out but was met with a Jackknife Powerbomb for his troubles. vs. - The next match was another short one between the new Intercontinental Champion The Ringmaster and a local talent. The poor kid never got any offense in as Ringmaster dominated from the start and put him away quickly with a Stunner. After the match, Ringmaster kept beating down the local man, and was eventually stopped by referees. Ringmaster was saying that he’s the champ and that he doesn’t have to play by the rules anymore. - Ahmed Johnson was backstage. He said that he’s tired of Jerry Lawler running away from him and he’s tired of getting beat down. Ahmed said that the only way to settle who the better man is would be to have a strap match so that Lawler can’t escape. He said he’d give Lawler a week to think about it and wants his response next week on RAW. - We get a quick video on the condition of Bret Hart, who isn’t at the show tonight because of the injuries sustained last night. He will be back on RAW next week. vs. Our Main Event saw The Undertaker face off against Jeff Jarrett. Before the match, Undertaker got a mic and told Goldust that he’s not finished with him yet and they have another date with destiny. During the match, Undertaker and Jarrett were somewhat evenly matched and both men were giving it their all. Jarrett really wanted to pull off the upset victory and almost got it several times. By the end of the match, Goldust came down to the ring and tried to help Jarrett get the win but his efforts were cut short by The Undertaker, who got Jarrett in a Tombstone for the victory. After the match however, Goldust was able to get back in the ring with a steel chair and hit Undertaker several times with it and said that he’s ready for their next date. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Overall, a good showing by the WWF. Now that In Your House is gone, the next stop for big shows is Wrestlemania and we got several advanced storylines to get us there. There was a lot more action in the ring than usual but two matches were squashes so it’s hard to say that it was better. Not having Bret show up was a real hurt for the show but he should be back next week. The WWF are starting to go in the right direction hopefully and that means a successful Wrestlemania. This show gets a B-. Preview of the next Monday Night RAW!! - Diesel vs. Ron Simmons - Ahmed Johnson and The Smoking Gunns vs. Jerry Lawler, Owen Hart and Yokozuna - PLUS! Bret Hart appears to give an injury report! - PLUS! The Undertaker has a sign for Goldust! All of this and more, next time on MONDAY NIGHT RAW!!!!!
  11. - A massive announcement was made this week as British Bulldog is going to be leaving the WWF and joining WCW. No word on what made him jump ship since his contract was ending soon. It has been rumored that the WWF offered him more money than WCW but it seems as though the WWF is losing a top star. This all but confirms that he won't be winning the WWF Title at In Your House but I guess there's always a chance. In Your House: Full Steam Ahead! LIVE! From the South East of the USA in front of 37,000 fans! - The show started off with a video package highlighting the matches that we are going to be seeing tonight. Once the show actually began, WWF President Gorilla Monsoon came down to the ring. He said that based on the attack that British Bulldog did on Bret Hart, he’s not going to be medically cleared to have two matches tonight. Instead, he’s just going to have to defend his WWF Title and not team with Shawn Michaels. Gorilla then thanks everyone as we head into the first match of the night. vs. - The first contest was a Handicap match between Jerry Lawler and Issac Yankem on one side and Ahmed Johnson on the other. Johnson has been trying for ages to get his hands on Lawler and is willing to be at a huge disadvantage to do so. By the end of the match, Ahmed was finally able to get his hands on Lawler, only to have Issac hit him from behind and that allowed Lawler to get the piledriver on Johnson and get the victory. Lawler and Issac dashed away as soon as they got the victory. - Backstage, Shawn Michaels is visibly upset as he frantically looks for a tag-team partner for his match. He approaches several men and all of them decline. vs. - Our second match saw the long awaited in-ring debut of Dude Love. We’ve seen a lot of Dude in the past few weeks but now he was finally in front of everyone and he looked good out there. He faced Chris Jericho and Jericho was able to give him a good match but in the end, Dude Love was just too strong and hit his finisher “The Love Below” for the three count. - Savio Vega was backstage with Dok Hendrix and he said that he’s ready to become Intercontinental champion. Vega said that he’s put away two tough competitors to get here and he knows he has one more in Ringmaster and he’s ready to get it done. vs. - The first title match of the evening saw Owen Hart and Yokozuna challenge The Smoking Gunns for the tag-team titles. The Gunns actually took the belts off Owen and Yoko and have held them for awhile and Owen and Yokozuna want them back. Yokozuna and Owen Hart showed excellent teamwork, even better than the Smoking Gunns at times. The end of the match came when Owen caught Bart off the top rope and slammed him to the mat and Yokozuna followed it up with a Banzai Drop for the victory and NEW tag-team champions! - Shawn Michaels is still backstage looking for a partner and gets off the phone and says that he’s finally found someone to help him take down Diesel and Psycho Sid! vs. Next, The Ringmaster and Savio Vega faced off for the vacant Intercontinental Title. It was clear that both men wanted to be champion and gave it their all in this match. Ringmaster almost had Savio put away with a Stunner but Savio was able to kick out. By the end however, the gas tank of Savio Vega quickly ran to empty and Ringmaster hit another Stunner for the victory and his first title in the WWF. - Following that, a video package was shown highlighting the interactions between Undertaker and Goldust over the past few weeks. Both men are ready to get in the ring and fight each other tonight. - Bret Hart is shown backstage finally arriving at the arena. He has taped ribs and he’s walking slowly but, it’s clear he’s ready to give it his all tonight against British Bulldog. vs. The next match was The Undertaker facing off against Goldust. Goldust has been taunting Undertaker over the past few weeks and he’s been claiming he’s not afraid of The Deadman. Both men worked over their opponent hard in this match and were ready to do whatever it took to get a victory. Goldust went to setup Undertaker for a Shattered Dreams spot but, Undertaker stuck out his hand, grabbed Goldust and gave him a Chokeslam that was good enough for the three count. - Ted DiBiase, Psycho Sid and Diesel were backstage, preparing for their tag-team match tonight. Ted told his team that HBK never found anyone of importance and that the two men should easily take down Michaels. vs. - After going to the ring, Diesel called out Michaels and said it was time to face the music. Shawn came out and said that he finally found a partner for his match and it was none other than Ron Simmons! So, Ron Simmons joined HBK to take on Diesel and Psycho Sid. Simmons was actually able to hold his own against two giants, and actually got a bodyslam on Diesel at one point. Shawn was going in and out of the ring, getting quick shots so that he wouldn’t be cornered by Diesel or Sid. Shawn also pulled off a new top-rope spot that we’ve never seen before and it was fantastic. Diesel and Sid were able to work together somewhat but there were times when the two men were clearly not getting along. By the end of the match, Diesel was so frustrated that he couldn’t get to Michaels that he tagged himself in and put HBK in the corner and stomped him and wouldn’t stop, even with the ref pulled him away. Diesel struck the ref with a boot and that caused the downed referee to call for the bell and the DQ. Diesel didn’t seem to care that he lost and stormed away, clearly happy that he got the advantage in the end. - British Bulldog was backstage with Dok Hendrix. He said that because he hurt Bret so badly on RAW, that this should be an easy cleanup job and that the WWF Title is all but his. vs. Finally, we are led to the Main Event of Bret Hart defending his WWF Title against British Bulldog. Bret was clearly injured in this match but was able to hold off Bulldog for a majority of the match. Bret went for the legs again during the match, in order to get him off his feet and his game plan worked after a long Boston Crab that saw Bulldog almost tap out. In the end, Bret was able to finally lock in the submission and forced British Bulldog to tap out again for the victory and Bret retained his title. As Bret was holding the belt high, Psycho Sid came running in and attacked Bret. He stomped the ribs of Bret and put him in a very painful looking torture rack. Sid held the belt high and said it was finally his time as the show went off the air. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Overall, another solid Pay-Per-View for the WWF. This was a good show that setup the main event of Wrestlemania nicely and also hinted at a few other spots for the big card coming up. The in-ring work was probably the best part of the night as none of the other segments really did anything for the audience. Shawn Michaels put on a very good performance tonight and it’s clear that he’s probably the top star in the company, even without the belt. Another B- show for the WWF. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Monday Night RAW preview! - The Undertaker vs. Jeff Jarrett - The Ringmaster in action! - RAW debut of Dude Love! - PLUS! - Shawn Michaels has something to say about Diesel - PLUS! - Ahmed Johnson makes a challenge to Jerry Lawler - PLUS! - An injury update on Bret Hart All that and more on MONDAY NIGHT RAW!!!
  12. February 1996 Week 3 Quick Notes: - Another WWF star is headed off to rehab. Marty Janetty was given time off to check into rehab after wrestling again while drunk at Monday Night Raw. Management was hoping that he'd turn it around and had a big angle planned for him but it was scrapped because they couldn't trust him in the ring. Marty was seen in good spirits when he left for rehab and hopefully his life gets turned around while he's off. - A bidding war has broken out over a talent that is near the end of his contract with WCW. Both promotions are eager to get this guy and the WWF is hoping to bring this man back to where he belongs for the right price. - Rick Rude popped back up into the scene recently. He was given a shot at the Raw show held last week in a dark segment but ultimately, the WWF decided not to move on with him. - While we are taking contracts, two WWF superstars were also reportedly contacted about coming over WCW. No word yet on who they are or if they plan to make the jump but we'll see if the WWF wants to fight for them or kick them to the curb. WWF Superstars quick results: - 1-2-3 Kid put away Duke Droese with a dropkick from the top rope in a very awkward match - A scuffle breaks out between King Mabel, Phatu, Savio Vega and Tatanka - Justin Bradshaw gets a win over Barry Horowitz - Newcomer Chris Jericho gets a submission victory over Aldo Montoya - The Ringmaster and Phatu got into it ahead of their IC Title Tournament match on RAW - The odd pairing of King Mabel and Tanaka get the victory over the equally odd pairing of Savio Vega and Phatu Monday Night RAW Coverage! LIVE! From the Hilton Coliseum in Ames, Iowa in front of 12,438 fans! - The show starts with Shawn Michaels coming to the ring. He says that he's worried about Diesel and Psycho Sid as a tag-team as both men are huge. He wants to know that he's got a partner who has his back and then he says he needs the help of a champion. He calls Bret Hart to come to the ring and says that he wants Bret's help at In Your House. Bret isn't sure if he wants to wrestle twice in one night against top level opponents so he'll think about it and get back with Shawn later tonight. - The Ringmaster tells Dok Hendrix that he's ready to take the next step in the WWF and become the Intercontinental Champion and his path starts tonight with his second round victory over Phatu. vs. - The first match of the night saw the other Intercontinental Title Tournament match with 1-2-3 Kid facing off against Savio Vega. Both men were stepping up their game because they knew they were that much closer to the title. The end of the match saw Savio get the victory with a Cobra Clutch maneuver. Vega celebrated with the crowd as he knew he punched his ticket to the finals. vs. - Our second match of the night saw Yokozuna take on Billy Gunn. Yokozuna wanted to get the win and get the momentum on his side for his team going into the tag-team title match at In Your House. Billy fought back against everything that Yokozuna had for him and was able to hold his own. At the end of the match, Billy had Yokozuna on the ropes and was able to get a Gunn Slinger and Bart Gunn popped up from under the ring and held Yokozuna's massive legs down for the three count! Both men celebrated up the aisle as Jim Cornette threw a huge fit. - Next, the final video package for "The Man With The Groove" played. Finally, we see that it's the man they call "Dude Love" and he'll be stepping into the ring at In Your House and "getting down with all the fellas and honeys" in the WWF. - Backstage, Bret Hart is in his locker room and finally decides that he's going to help Shawn Michaels in his tag-team match at In Your House. He leaves his room to go and find Shawn but suddenly, British Bulldog appears and attacks Bret! He beats Bret down and puts him down and out. Bret is rolling around on the floor as Bulldog laughs and tells Bret he'll see him Sunday... maybe. vs. - Finally, we see The Ringmaster and Phatu step into the ring as the other IC Title Tournament match takes place. Ringmaster was able to combat the size and strength of the big man and was able to put him away with a Stunner and move on to face Savio Vega in the finals. - Goldust then came down to the ring and called out The Undertaker. He said that he's not afraid and won't be scared by smoke and mirrors and tricks. Suddenly, the lights go out and The Undertaker appears to come to the ring from underneath and both men go nose-to-nose. A host of WWF superstars and officials come down to break up the fight before it even gets started. vs. - The Main Event saw Ahmed Johnson finally get his hands on Issac Yankem. Johnson has been trying to get Jerry Lawler but this was the only way that Lawler would fight Ahmed was if he got into the ring with Yankem first. Both men showed off their power and strength with Johnson being just a little more powerful. At the end of the match, Jerry Lawler slid into the ring and attacked Ahmed with a chair when he thought the referee wasn't looking but the ref saw it and called for the bell. Lawler then swung the chair at Johnson and missed and then ran away to avoid more wrath from Ahmed. Overall, this show was pretty good. There were a lot more matches than usual and we set up to In Your House nicely with a few segments. The Bulldog/Bret/Sid/Shawn/Diesel/Shawn Michaels storyline took an interesting turn so we'll see how that plays out. Shawn was out there cutting a hell of a promo at the show and really got his feud with Diesel over. It was a great way to start the night. It was very strange to see Ahmed Johnson and Issac Yankem main event the show but I guess management felt that it was a good match for the main event and didn't really pay off and was a letdown to the fans. This was another C+ show. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In Your House: Full Steam Ahead Card! 13. <p>February 1996 Week 2:</p><p> </p><p> Quick Notes</p><p> - Marty Jannetty fell off the wagon last night. He had a pre-show match and was telling everyone that he was fine to compete but it was clear he was very messed up. WWF management let him in the ring but it quickly became clear that he shouldn't have been. They were very upset with him and even sent him straight home after his match. He's on a very short leash now and I believe that if he messes up again, he's going to be following Razor Ramon straight into rehab or worse.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> <span style="text-decoration:underline;">WWF Superstars Quick Recap:</span></p><p> - Psycho Sid and Ted DiBiase talk about how they are going to take over the WWF when Sid is champ</p><p> - Justin Bradshaw gets a rare win over Hakushi where both men meshed together in a good match</p><p> - 1-2-3 Kid and Savio Vega say they are each going to be the new IC Champ</p><p> - The Smoking Gunns defeated the Bodydonnas</p><p> - Phatu and Issac Yankem get into a scuffle backstage leading to a match between the two where Phatu gets the win</p><p> </p><p> <img alt="wwf-raw-logo.png" data-src="https://www.cultofwhatever.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/wwf-raw-logo.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> <span style="color:#FF0000;">Monday Night RAW Coverage!</span></p><p> From the ARCO Arena in Sacramento California in front of 16,677 fans!</p><p> </p><p> - The show opens with <strong>Diesel and Ted DiBiase in the ring with Psycho Sid.</strong> Diesel says that he accepts the challenge of Shawn Michaels and that he's worked out a deal with Ted DiBiase to allow his partner for that match to be Sid! DiBiase says that he's happy to help Diesel and glad that he was given such a good price for Sid's talents. Sid grabs the mic and says that this will allow him to get closer to being the master of the Universe and WWF Champion.</p><p> </p><p> <img alt="cikshUu.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/cikshUu.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> vs. <img alt="Vzl8yjW.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/Vzl8yjW.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> - Another Intercontinental Title tournmament match kicked off the night as <strong>1-2-3 Kid took on Marty Janetty</strong>. There's no love lost between these two men who were one time tag-team champions together. In the end of the match, Kid was able to sneak in a low blow and a hand full of tights to advance in the tournament.</p><p> </p><p> - Next, we see yet another package for <strong>"The Dude Man"</strong>. He's ready to "Jive on in to the WWF" and we'll be seeing him make his debut at In Your House: Full Steam Ahead!</p><p> </p><p> <img alt="VCF6kNm.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/VCF6kNm.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> vs. <img alt="GCjx1mS.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/GCjx1mS.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> - The next match saw <strong>Hunter Hearst Helmsley take on Savio Vega</strong> in a IC tournament match. Hunter was the clear favorite going into the whole tournament so Savio was sure to be on top of his game. Helmlsey might have underestimated him however, as Savio was actually able to pull off the upset victory by making Helmsley tap out.</p><p> </p><p> - <strong>Ahmed Johnson</strong> stormed to the ring and called out Jerry Lawler again and said that he's through waiting around and wants to beat up Jerry now. <strong>Lawler and Issac Yankem then appeared</strong> and said that he's not stepping into the ring with Ahmed until he absolutely has to. Lawler then told Johnson that he's willing to make a concession and that Ahmed can square off against Issac Yankem next week!</p><p> </p><p> <img alt="ETAI2An.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/ETAI2An.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> - In what was described as a "Quick but somehow still painful" match, Kama came out and took down a jobber who was already in the ring. Kama gave the poor young man a chance to leave but the kid wanted to stay and take his chances. He had none it turns out as Kama was able to dominate him from the start and take him out with a huge right hand.</p><p> </p><p> - From one end of the extreme to the other, <strong>Bret Hart came down to the ring</strong>. He was ready and focused on his match with Goldust next, but he came out early to say that Sid better watch his back and that he was ready to derail Sid's Master of the Universe plans and retain his title at Wrestlemania!</p><p> </p><p> <img alt="0I6XE8b.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/0I6XE8b.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> vs. <img alt="IlBNxRu.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/IlBNxRu.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> - The Main Event saw <strong>Bret Hart square off against Goldust</strong> in a non-title match. Announced earlier in the show, the two men squared off and took each other to the limit. Goldust almost beat the champ a few times but Bret was always able to make the come back. At the end of the match, Bret was able to put the finishing touches on his gameplan of working Goldust's knee and getting him into a Sharpshooter and the victory for the WWF Champ. After the match, Goldust was alone in the ring when the lights went out and a gong went off as Goldust sat up and tried his best to scamper off to the back.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> Overall, this was an actual good show. This was a strange one because all of the non-wrestling segments were great and the matches were not (aside from Bret/Goldust). This might show a real weakness for the WWF; good talkers but not good workers. With several excellent in-ring stars (HBK, Owen, Bulldog) not in any matches tonight, I think the show could have faired even better with one of them in a match. Overall, this show was a B-.</p><p> --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------</p><p> Preview of the next show!</p><p> - Ahmed Johnson vs. Issac Yankem</p><p> - The Ringmaster vs. Phatu</p><p> - Savio Vega vs. 1-2-3 Kid</p><p> - PLUS! 14. Thanks for the kind words everyone! I'm really shocked that people are actually enjoying this, I was hoping that it would get some views but nothing crazy and it turns out you guys are enjoying it! Comments mean a lot to me and thanks to all who've already commented. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- February 1996 Week 1: Quick Notes: - The WWF has finally decided to go live for Monday Night RAW. The word is that the WWF wanted a bigger feel for their show and they felt that going live to compete with WCW directly would accomplish that. Here are the matchups for the IC Title Tournament. There should be a lot of interesting matchups and several men could go all the way and win the tournament. Superstars Quick Recap: - Aldo Montoya actually got a win over a jobber - 1-2-3 Kid, Phatu and Saivo Vega discuss the upcoming Intercontinental Title Tournament - Savio Vega beat a jobber who was dressed like a cowboy - Tatanka and Billy Gunn got into it backstage before heading to the ring to settle their score with Gunn getting the victory Monday Night RAW Coverage! From the CoreStates Spectrum in Philadelphia in front of 18,000 fans! - The show opens with British Bulldog coming to the ring. He demands the WWF President Gorilla Monsoon come down and give him another Titie match. Monsoon appears and says that Bulldog must EARN his title match by facing The Undertaker at the show! Bulldog is upset at first but then accepts the gauntlet. - Next was a video package hyping the newest WWF superstar who is looking to dance his way into the WWF. He's the "hippest man to throw a hip toss" and is going to "move and groove and be smooth in the ring" and the graphic shows that he's making his in-ring debut at In Your House. vs. - The first match of the night was part of the Intercontinental Title Tournament which saw The Ringmaster square off against Barry Horowitz. The Ringmaster dominated from the start and finished this one off quickly with a Thesz Press and a stiff clothesline. - Backstage, we see Shawn Michaels. He's upset that his partner left him for dead and that he really thought that he could trust Diesel through everything. HBK then goes on to say that he doesn't need Diesel anyway and that he's ready to cut off the dead weight so he can fly even higher. He challenges Diesel to a tag-team match at In Your House where they can each pick their partners. Shawn goes on to say that he'll find a partner who won't betray him and leave him like Diesel. vs. - The next match saw Phatu and King Mabel face off in another IC title tournament match. The two big men were a lot of muscle and mass in the ring and both men were throwing it around with ease. Phatu was able to pick up the win by sucessfully getting Mabel to the ground and then coming off the top rope with a ring shaking splash. - Next, Jim Cornette comes to the ring with Owen Hart and Yokozuna. He demands that The Smoking Gunns give Owen and Yoko a title match since Owen pinned Bart Gunn last week. He said that the Smoking Gunns had a nice little run with the belts but now it's time for them to come back to their rightful owners. - We quickly cut to Goldust backstage where he's telling the camera that he's not afraid of anything and that if "HE" wants to face him then "HE" has the match. vs. - Our next match saw Kama face Avatar. We saw Kama randomly return a few weeks ago on a episode of WWF Superstars and now he's ready to return to the main show. This was thankfully a quick match and Kama got the win easily after a massive punch right to the jaw of Avatar. - Jerry Lawler and Issac Yankem made their way to the ring next and Lawler told the crowd that Ahmed Johnson is begging for another match with him. Jerry told them that the only way he'd step back into the ring with Johnson is if it's a 2 on 1 match with Issac Yankem backing him up as well. vs. - The Main Event saw The British Bulldog face off with The Undertaker. Bulldog tried with all that he had to put the Deadman away but Undertaker was able to stay in the match. At one point, Undertaker had Bulldog up for a Tombstone but Bulldog was somehow able to roll through and escape. At the end of the match, Undertaker was looking like he was going to pick up the victory but suddenly, Goldust came out and tried to get into the ring. The referee stopped him but that allowed Bulldog to give Undertaker a low blow and roll him up for the victory. Overall, it was another solid show for the WWF. It has to be said that they've all been solid but not great and that can be attributed to the roster they currently have. There's lots of good talent there at the moment and they need to really have the good workers stand out. The fueds for In Your House are building nicely and we are seeing that card take shape. Goldust was the best promo of the night surprisingly and cut a short but still very good promo. However, Bret Hart and Diesel were not on the show again and you really would think that the WWF Champion should be on each show at least once. If the WWF could fix this issue then they might be turning these solid shows into great ones. I give it a B-. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Preview of the next show! - 1-2-3 Kid vs. Marty Janetty - Savio Vega vs. Hunter Hearst Helmsley - PLUS! - Ahmed Johnson lays another challenge down to Jerry Lawler - PLUS! - Bret Hart responds to Psycho Sid - PLUS! - Diesel's tag-team partner revealed for In Your House! Who will it be??? All that and more on MONDAY NIGHT RAW!!!
  15. January 1996 Week 4: - The major news coming out of the Royal Rumble is not Psycho Sid winning and going on to Wrestlemania to take on Bret, it's that Razor Ramon was sent to rehab by WWF Management! He wrestled for a third time drunk at the event last night against Helmsley and the heads of the WWF had finally seen enough. After the show was over, they sent him straight to be checked in to a rehab facility and begin treatment. It's assumed that he will be stripped of the WWF Intercontinental Title but there's no formal announcement as of yet. - It appears as though when one substance abuse problem is stopped, another one pops up. Marty Janetty was reportedly high as a kite when he tried to come to the building before the shows. WWF Management had to send him home and were very disappointed in him. They gave him a stern warning that if he does it again, he'll be fined. Marty was less than happy with this response and stormed back to his car before peeling out. More on this story as it breaks. Superstars Quick Recap: - King Mabel said that he's ready to decree that the WWF is all his before squashing Hakushi - Savio Vega, Phatu, 1-2-3 Kid and The Ringmaster all get into a shoving match backstage - Hunter Hearst Helmsley says that the WWF needs more civility before taking out the "Trash" of Duke Droese - Billy Gunn, confident after his victory at the Rumble makes an open challenge, to be answered by a returning Kama! Kama then pins Gunn and celebrates Monday night RAW Coverage! From the Frank Erwin Center in front of 14,724 fans! - The show started off with British Bulldog in the ring. He said that what happened last night was was a fluke and that Bret was lucky to beat him. Bulldog then demanded another title shot and he says that next week, Gorilla Monsoon has to come out and give it to him. vs. - Next, Psycho Sid took on Savio Vega. This was a squash match really, with Savio getting little offense in. By the end, Sid was able to easily pin Vega with a chokeslam for the victory. After the match, Ted DiBiase says that this is the fate that lies ahead for Bret Hart at Wrestlemania and that Sid will stop at nothing to get to the top of the mountain and become WWF Champion. Sid then steals the mic and says that he's on step two of becoming Master of the Universe and that the final step is defeating Bret. - Gorilla Monsoon is backstage and tells the fan that due to personal issues, Razor Ramon has been striped of the WWF Intercontinental Title and has been forced on a leave of absence by the WWF. He wishes Razor luck and says that Ramon will return when the time is right. He then sets up an Intercontinental Title Tournament that will begin next week with the finals taking place at In Your House in a few weeks. vs. - The next match saw Ahmed Johnson take on Justin Bradshaw. This was one of the first times we've seen this new big Texan, but he didn't really get much to do as he was dominated by Ahmed for most of the match. Johnson was able to hit the Pearl River Plunge for the victory in a short match. After the match was over, Ahmed said that he got punked out by Lawler and the "Big Evil Freak Dentist" at the Rumble and he's looking for revenge. He told Lawler to watch out when he's on the streets because if Ahmed sees him, it's going down and nobody can stop him. - Finally, Diesel came to the ring to explain his actions from the Royal Rumble. He said that he walked out on his partner because he finally realized that he's tired of trying to carry Shawn Michaels around to everything. He calls Shawn selfish and that everything has to revolve around him and he's always getting himself in over his head. Diesel tells Shawn that he really cared about him once but that time is over and now he's going to cut ties with him all together and make the impact he always knew he could. vs. - Our next match was Goldust and Phatu. The two men gave a pretty good match, given the time they had. Goldust was clearly the better of the two men but Phatu was able to give him a go. The end of the match saw Goldust hit a running Bulldog and was able to get the three count. After the match, Goldust told the crowd that he's not afraid of anybody or anything in the WWF and that he would take on all comers. Suddenly, the lights go out and we hear a gone, symbolizing a certain someone who might be looking to take on the challenge. - A video package airs for a "Hip new Cat" looking to "slide" into the WWF. We don't see who it is but all we hear is cheesy dance music and that this man is "cooler than a cucumber, and more fly than any man". vs. - The Main Event match of the night saw Owen Hart take on Bart Gunn. This was a suprising main event but the two men were actually able to put together a good match. Owen was looking to make a statement here and Bart was looking to prove that he deserves to be a champion in the WWF. By the end of the match, both men were on the brink of winning and just as Bart was about to get the upset victory with a Superplex, Owen hit him and knocked him off the top rope, allowing Owen to get a splash and then pull him up for a Piledriver for the victory. Overall, this show was actually better than previous ones. We had a lot more squash matches and a lot less midcard talent and it focused more on the stars of the WWF. However, with no Bret, Shawn, or Undertaker, there was a star-power that was lacking on this show. It was a good fallout show from the Rumble and sets up some fueds going forward as they build towards Wrestlemania. Overall, this show gets a B-. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Preview of the next show! - TWO! Matches in the Intercontinental Title Tournament! - In-Ring Return of Kama to Monday Night RAW! - PLUS! Shawn Michaels responds to Diesel! - PLUS! Will Gorilla Monsoon give British Bulldog another shot at Bret? All that and more on MONDAY NIGHT RAW!!!
