  1. Hi folks, hopefully a quick one - do workers build momentum just by winning pre-show matches? I’m beginning to think not as I’ve a few that started the game on Ice Cold momentum & have gone on months of winning matches on my pre-show without momentum gains. It makes sense in some ways but I thought I’d check to make sure I’m definitely wasting my time trying to improve momentum this way… I guess my follow-up question would be, workers shouldn’t lose momentum by losing pre-show matches, right? I’ve heard the best way to reset momentum is a gimmick / disposition change but I thought I’d try this first.
  2. I’m possibly a bit odd in that I find injuries (and adapting to them) an interesting part of the game so I have my injury settings on the highest level. My workers wrestle 1-2 times a week & I wouldn’t say it’s crippling my roster at all. But I could just be getting lucky.
  3. I use house shows just for scouting out chemistry between workers that I might be looking to put together in the future. I know I could just check the editor to find this out but I like the challenge of routing it out.
  4. I’ve finally run my March to Victory tournament & it was a huge success, achieving a 41 overall show rating which is my best yet. Ratzloff fought Ozzie Goldstein in the final with the push going to Goldstein who’d cheated his way to the final. Ratzloff had been targeted by Hellion with attacks in the previous round after Ratzloff beat Hellion previously. Deever Arnold retained the RIPW title over Warwick Good & this means I now have the heel Goldstein to challenge him if he can shake off the faces he’s upset along the way. Having Goldstein & a few other older guys on the roster helps to keep the ratings up & I’m using them to build the younger chaps until they’re ready to hit the main event. Currently I felt there wasn’t anyone really ready for challenging Arnold (Hellion has bad chemistry with him!) so Goldstein can be the Triple H of the company until they are ready to step it up!
  5. <p>Similarly to workers getting called up, has anyone had any workers not have their development contract extended by SWF?</p><p> </p><p> I’m wondering if RIPW’s low popularity workers will eventually get older & older, never get called up but keep getting their contract extended? Is there a point when the AI will finally realise their development worker isn’t going to get popular enough to promote?</p>
  6. Ah that’s a shame. Part of the excitement of playing a child company was having the threat of losing your top stars. If it doesn’t really happen you’re basically just controlling a small company with restrictions on half the game. I had thought about this issue & am tempted to run RIPW for 6 months then add a second player character as SWF so I can mess around with RIPW a bit more... I’ve not got to March to Victory still but worked out how to run it as a 8-person tournament without getting overused penalties. I had to change my winner as a result but looking forward to it playing it now.
  7. <p>I like the idea of turning off the face / heel divide in game to allow you more booking freedom (whilst still generally following the rules manually) but I’ve always wondered what effect doing this has on the gimmicks of the workers? Do their gimmick ratings switch off (or not be affected by whether they’re playing a heel / face gimmick). </p><p> </p><p> Also, do they lose their disposition bonus in matches / angles? Often I get in the dirt sheet that a worker got a bonus for being ‘a great face’ etc. Would this disappear without face / heel divide turned on?</p>
  8. <p>I’m really building towards the March to Victory tournament but there’s something I’m a bit concerned about with a 8-man knockout competition where the two finalists will have 3 matches in a single show...</p><p> </p><p> Are they going to get penalised for being over-used?</p><p> Are they going to be dead from lack of stamina for the final?</p><p> Anything else I need to mitigate?</p><p> </p><p> Or is it okay to just do March to Victory as a 4-person tournament to limit these problems?</p>
  9. Firstly, your post makes perfect sense, your English is fine so don’t worry about that. Secondly, the beauty of any TEW game is that you can play it any way that you want to - there is no right or (more importantly) wrong way to play so don’t worry if you’re struggling to find ‘your way’ to begin with. Thirdly, as a suggestion, maybe try booking matches using a random generator (each worker has a number). Separate out the faces / heels & stars / unimportant before you roll the number so it makes some kind of sense. Don’t set the winner for any match. Let the AI (the game will say the road agent) decide who wins. After a bit of doing this you might find that ideas start to spring up in your own mind. You’ll see worker C unexpectedly beat worker A for his title. How does worker A react to that? If he was a bad guy then chances are he wants revenge! So maybe now you’re choosing to book the rematch... And so on and so on... Never be afraid to add an element of randomness if you need inspiration. In my current game I didn’t set a winner in my main title match. When I saw the winner I found it quite exciting working out what would happen from there. Someone may be able to confirm whether or not the AI automatically picks the most popular winner but that’s okay because if that’s the case & you’re not happy about that... change it! Problem solved either way.
  10. <p>Maybe ‘punish’ is a bit strong for the soft drug use of Moriarty. I probably meant not fully push. As he’s still gone from a pre-show nobody to a recognisable talent since that incident.</p><p> </p><p> Good to know about the Storyline heat requirement. I think I have 2 on 35+ currently with two more pretty close. I keep getting penalties on my tag storyline because I accidentally get it featured on a pre-show match as I’m trying to find random chemistry!</p>
  11. I managed to cancel my WrestleWorld 10% deal & negotiate a new one at 55% without having to pay anything so happy about that. Thanks for the advice. For me Zap Powerson has great tag chemistry with one of the ‘veterans’ I hired Rayne Man so I’m pushing them as a team called Rayne Power! Hopefully it’ll help to increase Zap’s skills as so far Rayne Man has been a great talent to push up the ratings of my youngsters. Two (weekly) shows away from the March to Victory tournament & I've started qualifying matches. So far it’s only Moriarty Schnell confirmed but I won’t let him win it as he was sent home for soft drugs before my very first show. Clean since then but I’m still not pushing him too much as punishment. I’m leaning towards giving the March to Victory win to Samson Sharpe. He’s the eldest of Southern Comfort & so probably should be looking to go to the next level by now...
  12. I changed our event schedule to one a week on a Friday & have now made it into March. I’ve signed up with WrestleWorld but didn’t realise their 10% revenue to company was me getting 10% not them. Does anyone know if they’d have accepted a worse deal for them if I’d realised? I’ve made March to Victory on the last week of March & using the 3 shows before that to build to who’s in the tournament. Who was everyone else’s first March to Victory winner?
  13. <p>Trying out new tags & worker/manager combinations is one of my favourites parts of the early game. I brought in 3 very low pay managers to RIPW & have been pairing them with everyone who appears on the pre-shows but I’ve only had negative chemistry so far.</p><p> </p><p> I may have to double up my good workers on the pre-show & main show to give these managers a chance at finding some good chemistry - otherwise it’s the end of the line for them!</p>
  14. <p>Did anyone else get negative chemistry between Deever Arnold & Hellion? I was planning on stretching their feud out for a good while but after their first match was hit with this I’m now thinking of moving them apart pretty quickly!</p><p> </p><p> Am I right in thinking that every game is different in its chemistry assignment, positive or negative?</p>
  15. Really wasn’t a great score but I mainly used Austin in promo segments leading up to it to make the feud worthwhile. I tried Austin out in a dark match beforehand to find out what he had left & that helped me place it on the card, I.e. lost between other good matches. My main aim for the game was the story rather than the grades anyway so it didn’t matter too much.
  16. Not a huge change to make game-wise but I had Kevin Owens start using a Stunner as his finishing move a few months before it started happening. Fortunately for me I told my brother-in-law about doing this in ‘my game’ so when it happened he was suitably impressed! What hasn’t yet happened in real life is for Stone Cold to come back & feud with Owens over his use of the Stunner with Austin losing to Owens to pass the torch, via this special move...
  17. My suggestion would be something simple like changing them to ‘Deliverers of Pain’ instead. ‘Authors’ only really worked when they had their Paul Ellering gimmick going so I don’t think Akim & Rezar would lose much changing that part.
  18. Thanks, that makes sense & I hadn’t actually thought about having to lose the effects of turns, etc. so I’ll have a think about whether it’s worth losing that before I change anything.
  19. Is there any in-game penalty for switching off the face / heel divide mid game? I’m hoping the only difference is you don’t get the face vs face penalties etc. anymore & that’s all but if there’s some bigger hidden effect I’d rather not risk it.
  20. <p>It’s difficult to know what to suggest but the main thing with any dynasty is that it’s something you enjoy writing. A lot of people on this forum will read something & enjoy it more if it’s clear you’re having a bit of fun.</p><p> </p><p> Do you tend to act on the predictions that you have been given in your past dynasties? Or just ask for them for general amusement?</p>
