I did too good a job with them and couldn't buy them out after switching to Ted Turner when WCW started.</p><p> </p><p> So now I'm third behind JCP, and I've got very few major WCW names. No Flair, Lex, Sting or Dusty. The only major names I could get at the start was Jerry Lawler, Vader, Jimmy Snuka and Larry Zybysko.</p>
  2. Continuing my WCW save, now in August 1990. The Warrior is still World Heavyweight Champion and has been feuding with members of the Dangerous Alliance for over 6 months. Its only 2 months until Fall Brawl and its looking likely that we'll see a War Games match of some kind to finish the feud. Dangerous Alliance currently consists of Jerry Lawler, Larry Zybysko, Adrian Street and new members Harlem Heat. Joining Warrior in the feud with them is DDP (who flew up to Main Event after a feud with Yokozuna, Jimmy Snuka, former champ Rocky King and former champ and Alliance member The Barbarian. There's a four way feud going on over the World Tag Team Titles between the Steiner Brothers, Dustin Rhodes & Jeff Jarrett, The Hart Brothers and New Blood (Gangrel & Vampiro). Rivals Sherri Martel and Mayumi Ozaki have won the Women's Tag Titles together. This seems to have put their feud on hold for now, but it won't be long until tensions boil and Martel comes for Ozaki's Women's Championship... Jushin Liger had his third TV title reign come to an end at the hands of New Blood, and will be joining the Steiners at the PPV to continue his feud with Viscera. One Man Gang turned heel on Steve Blackman after Blackman constantly got in his way of the US Title. This will probably be a short feud to solidify One Man Gang as a top heel. Yokozuna is feuding with former partner Rikishi over the US Championship. His number of defences is getting close to breaking the Warrior's record of 16 - and the Warrior challenged for the World Title whilst still champion... Last, WCW just signed Harley Race. Unsure whether to make him a part of Dangerous Alliance or not. Rough plan for WCW V The World Warrior, DDP & Snuka V Jerry Lawler & Harlem Heat King & Barbarian V Zybysko & Street Rikishi V Yokozuna US Title, Falls Count Anywhere Jushin Liger & The Steiners V New Blood (Viscera, Gangrel & Vampiro) Mayumi Ozaki & Sherri Martel V Reggie Bennett & Jaqueline Women's Tag Team Titles Hart Brothers V Dustin Rhodes & Jeff Jarrett Tag Titles One Man Gang V Steve Blackman Debut of Harley Race
  3. So, Legacy took the loss... And then Curt Hennig turned up positive for hard drugs the next day. Good thing he just lost a casket match and I have an excuse to write him out for 4 months of rehab...
  4. Yeah cheers man, I think you're right. I do have a pretty bloated roster but I like my vampire stable, and while I've got plans for Legacy they can wait for a while. I like the idea of a fourth member, I might see if any of my roster need a gimmick change and can get kidnapped this week on Nitro before the ppv...
  5. It's 1990 WCW, and I've got a feud between two three man stables. I'm not sure who to have go over so thought I'd ask the forum who they'd like to see win. Legacy - Curt Hennig, Jeff Jarrett and Dustin Rhodes. Second Generation Star baby faces, I'll probably turn them heel at some point but right now they're the blue eyed blonde future of WCW. Dustin and Jeff are Tag champions. New Blood - Gangrel, Viscera and Vampiro. A stable of vampires. All three are midcarders and yet to hold any titles, but they've been protected and pushed hard, only losing a couple of matches so far, mostly to Legacy members. The feud is going to end, probably at the next big show, in a 3 V 3 Casket Match. Reasons Legacy should win: They're far more popular and on a good roll, and they'll probably whine if I tell them to lose. They're also far better workers and probably have a bigger long term future than New Blood. Reasons New Blood should win: The Casket match should be their gimmick so I don't really want them losing. Also they've lost a few title shots and basically taken the brunt of the feud. And I have plans for them to fight the Steiners after, and if they're back to Lower Midcard that isn't going to work.
  6. The continued troubles of my WCW game... So. About two weeks after not being able to get Hogan, Piper, or any of the major names from WWF or JCP.... I suddenly hit National. This is somewhat infuriating and my star power isn't there yet for most of my top guys. I've only just made Warrior the figurehead. Vader got fired. Barbarian is over but turns out he has no real star quality, so that's not much use. Neither does Jerry Lawler apparently (at least not compared to Hogan, Andre, Sting, Luger, Flair etc...) Also I have no real idea what I'm doing at the National scale. Made Thunder into an A show and got around the annoying Turner Broadcasting catch 22 by setting up a WCW Network. So now doing two weekly TV shows, monthly events on the network and occasional weekly ones, sometimes on the Network and sometimes off. So I drop back to Cult. This is fine as it gives me time to build my younger stars up and work out who's got the star power to take on WWF and JCP. I'm still really annoyed I couldn't get Hogan or Sting though. I did get Bret Hart, Tito Santana, Mean Gene Okerlund and, erm... Koko B Ware and the Honky Tonk Man. My plans to make Warrior and Barbarian into a tag team after their feud have been foiled, partly by Warrior almost botching a move on Barbarian, and then made worse by me trying to get two roided monsters to talk out their feelings. So now they don't like each other and my dreams are ruined. Also Lawler turned heel and joined the Dangerous Alliance. Seeing as someone in his three way feud with Rocky King and Vader needed to be the heel now Vader is gone, he's the next most over guy and the whole point of the feud was to build the heel (Vader) to go against Warrior, now Lawler is my top heel. Might hold off on Warrior V Lawler for the next show though as I'm still in a shocked phase and won't gain popularity for a bit.
  7. WCW 1990 WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT The Warrior (def. The Barbarian) UNITED STATES CHAMPIONSHIP Yokozuna (def. Diamond Dallas Page in tournament final for vacant title) TV CHAMPIONSHIP Bret Hart (def. Tito Santana) WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP Jeff Jarrett & Dustin Rhodes (def. Booker T & Stevie Ray) WOMENS CHAMPIONSHIP Mayumi Ozaki (def. Royal Hawaiian) WOMEN'S TAG CHAMPIONSHIP Malia Hosaka & Luna Vachon (def. Velvet McIntyre & Heidi Lee Morgan)
  8. Post Starrcade news: The Warrior defeated The Barbarian for his first ever world title reign. He has vacated the US championship, which is up for grabs in a tournament. Mean Gene Okerlund and promising WWF lower mid carder Bret Hart are talking about jumping to the smaller but highly financed WCW, along with Koko B Ware and the Honky Tonk Man. Hulk Hogan and Roddy Piper felt the company was still too small. Vader, the first World Champion and the man originally planned to carry the company, finally came back from "injury" (being sent to rehab for wrestling high on painkillers and drugs too many times) in a big match against his former rivals Lawler and King. He won the match. And wrestled wasted again in his very first appearance back, on the biggest show of the year. He has been fired.

  10. Currently planned card for WCW Starrcade 1989... ULTIMATE WARRIOR V THE BARBARIAN © US Champion challenges the World Champion! ROCKY KING V JERRY LAWLER V VADER Vader returns from injury to find his former rivals in a feud. He wants to kill them both. STEINERS V HARLEM HEAT © Harlem Heat stole the Tag Titles from Steiners thanks to new manager Paul Heyman. Can they keep them in this rematch? And in the mid card we have... Diamond Dallas Page V Steve Blackman Grudge Match! Dean Malenko © V Owen Hart V Jushin Liger V Curt Hennig TV Title match! Malia Hosaka © V Royal Hawaiian Women's Championship on the line! Yokozona & Rikishi V Dustin Rhodes & Jeff Jarrett V Sean Royal & Chris Champion V Gangrel & Viscera No 1 Contenders match for Tag Team Championship! Jimmy Snuka, Larry Zybysko and Adrian Street should also be involved but no plans have yet to be made. Card subject to change.
  11. If face: 1. Have them lose in a tainted finish with interference etc to someone and then just keep them on a decent winning streak after. Or 2. Have them get jumped in a big way after a match by someone they're going to feud with, vacate the belt due to injury, put them on vacation for a couple of weeks, then have them coming back for revenge. Put title up for grabs in mini tournament or rumble. If heel: 1.Botched interference by minon or tag partner 2. flash pinfall and then beat the baby face up for revenge after 3. A big name baby face interferes and costs them their belt to an underdog for revenge for whatever they did the week before
  12. <p>Golden Age 87 - April 1989</p><p> </p><p> WCW</p><p> </p><p> World Heavyweight Champion: Rocky King (def. Vader)</p><p> </p><p> US Champion: Larry Zybysko (defeated Jimmy Snuka)</p><p> </p><p> Tag Team Champions: Scott & Rick Steiner (defeated Warlord and The Barbarian)</p><p> </p><p> Women's Champion: Sherri Martel (Won Tournament, First Champion)</p>
  13. Been playing the Golden Age mod as JCP, looking to take over as WCW. Time finally comes after about two years. Unfortunately JCP rises to National inbetween and somehow I ****ed up and WCW became cult. So now I cant buy any of the awesome talent I helped make, and have to watch as the AI fires half my roster, WWF signs them before I got the opportunity and then starts doing bizarre stuff like turning Flair face and Sting heel. So now I'm trying to build WCW with what talent hasn't already been taken by WWF or JCP. WWF goes out of its way to make a bidding war for absolutely anyone of worth I offer a written contract, so I'm having to make do with pay per appearance in a lot of places. My big stars are... Jerry Lawler. Vader. And then.... The Warlord, The Barbarian, Dick Murdoch, Kendall Windham, Rocky King and Jimmy Snuka. Yay. Gonna beat Hulk Hogan and Ric Flair with this. So I put the belt on Vader in a match against Lawler, and I put the Tag Belts on Warlord and Barbarian. Plan long term with Vader as my big star. Then he wrestles wasted twice. As champ. In the main event. So much for that. Decide after two big losses I don't just want the belt on Lawler. And that's how Rocky King ended up beating Vader for the World Heavyweight Title.
  14. I like the idea, and you could still use it buying an extra member to their stable in something like a War Games match. Alternatively, he uses it to bribe a ref during a Championship match for either Rogers or the Express during a rematch. Though there should also be a number of Jim Cornette Spends His Cash skits
  15. JCP August 1988 NWA World Heavyweight: Ric Flair (defeated Lex Luger) NWA World Tag Team: Ric Flair & Arn Anderson Flair and Luger were tag champs... But when Anderson returned, Flair kicked the World champ out of the group. A tag match was set for the vacant tag belts and the world title, with Arn and Flair V Luger and Horsemen rival Barry Windham. Unfortunately for Luger it turned out Barry had been chosen as his replacement, and he screwed Luger out of the title. NWA US Heavyweight : Sting (def. Kevin Sullivan) Sting, Sullivan, Bubba Rogers, Nikita Koloff, Ron Simmons and Mark Callous have all been feuding over the US Title. NWA Television: Stan Lane (defeated Scott Hall) Scott Hall won his first title in a great baby face v baby face match with Hector Guerrero. The two formed a friendship over the match and teamed together occasionally after. So when Hall was screwed out of his TV title by Midnight Express member Stan Lane, it set off a feud between the Express and Hall/Guerrero US Tag Team Champions: Shawn Michaels and Brian Pillman (defeated Al Snow and Norman Smiley) Michael's and Pillman recently began their third US Tag title reign. It seems to have gone to their heads however, as they've turned on their fans and declared themselves the best team in the world. NWA Junior Heavyweight: Tiger Conway Jr (defeated Rocky King) No real story here. Conway just came back from injury so he won the belt to get some momentum going again. NWA Womens: Sherri Martel (def. Heidi Lee Morgan) JWP Openweight: Bull Nakano (def. Nancy Kumi) JWP Jr: Rockin Robin (def. Sabrina) NWA/JWP Women's Tag Team: Crush Gals Chigusa Nigyano and Lioness Asuka (def Kat LeRoux and Susan Sexton) I bought JWP and started a feud with the two womens rosters. The Tag Belts have been unified and I'm building to a Bull Nakano V Sherri Martel match. Martel has been champion now for over a year, with over 20 defences. The JWP Jr belt will probably become a Womens TV title after the invasion angle ends.

  17. <p>1990 WCW </p><p> </p><p> Took a break from my ASWUK game as was getting tired of it, and the computer AI's booking of WCW was kind of driving me crazy. Rarely booking Flair and keeping the world title on Dick Slater for over a year despite maxxing out at popularity 65. Also a lot of the roster were over 40 and none were under 30 (me poaching American talent may have something to do with this).</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> So Jim Herd has been fired as booker and I have taken over as Paul Heyman. New talent has been brought in, with established names like Jerry Lawler and Curt Hennig as well as younger possibilities like Ron Simmons, Steve Austin, Harlem Heat and Rey Mysterio.</p><p> </p><p> It has been hard. Backstage morale fell to the single digits for a while and I've got a lot of people in rehab, suspension or fired for drug problems. That is mostly solved thankfully, but we're still bleeding money and stuck trying to rebuild at Cult level with a finite TV deal that requires being national to extend. And being part of the Turner broadcasting I need that TV deal.</p><p> </p><p> Major storyline at the moment is Flair having won the title and formed The New Horsemen with Zybysko, Stan Lane and Ole Anderson. Flair got kayfabe fired whilst champ due to their constant interference, and the old NWA Heavyweight Title has been brought back. Hennig won a tournament for the belt, but Flair is coming back, with the plan to build to a Starrcade Unification match.</p>

  19. <p>Should I do a brand split? </p><p> </p><p> I'm currently running a Cult promotion with just over 4 million. Based in the UK, things are going well and I'm making money every month despite the economy and industry both being low. </p><p> </p><p> Unfortunately my roster size has started to get a bit carried away and I'm running out of space to book people. I know I could just cut some down, but I'm a hoarder and also wondering if this might be an opportunity.</p><p> </p><p> I want to start breaking into Europe, but with only a small amount of TV coverage there it's slow going.</p><p> </p><p> My current schedule is one A level TV show a week, one B show, and a weekly live event which is shown on a smaller channel (which gives me coverage in Europe as well as UK), and finally monthly PPV.</p><p> </p><p> Would creating a minor touring European brand be a good idea? I was thinking of giving them a weekly live event or TV show, running in Europe, and moving basically the guys who aren't doing anything on the shows at the moment to there.</p><p> </p><p> Haven't used the split option before so unsure if I'm misunderstanding it's use.</p>

That doesn't gel very well with the evil boss McMahon storyline though.<p> </p><p> Still, the plan for Mania 14 is Bret as Champ vs Austin as Challenger in a rematch from the year before (virtually guaranteed I won't get that far...), and Bret could probably use a solid challenger before Austin. 23. <p>ASWUK 1989 (July I think?)</p><p> </p><p> Fuji Yamada dropped his World Middleweight Title to Dynamite Kid in a big multi man match a few months ago, who in turn lost it to Owen Hart. Fuji held the belt for around eighteen months and had over 40 successful defences. </p><p> </p><p> Owen Hart & Shinya Hashimoto have turned heel on Yamada and Dynamite Kid. They were originally joined by Davey Boy Smith, who had signed with ASWUK when his WWF contact came up for renewal. </p><p> </p><p> The plan was to have a heel Davey Boy feud with Dynamite, before turning babyface on Owen and Shinya, with the possibility of being the next big figurehead.</p><p> </p><p> This didn't happen, as Davey Boy tested positive for hard drugs the night of his first PPV match, and demanded his release after being sent to rehab. </p><p> </p><p> Sid Vicious has won the World Heavyweight Title from Don Muraco. Scott Steiner (having been under contract for a long time but still recovering from a broken neck) debuted to help his brother, but Rick also asked for his release recently after becoming angry at being fined for his steroid use. Scott Steiner and Sting are continuing the feud for now.</p><p> </p><p> Johnny Saint and Kendo Nagasaki, two longtime legends of the British scene, have both left ASWUK due to their contracts expiring. Time decline just got too much for both. Keith Haward and Alan Kilby are also both on their last runs.</p><p> </p><p> Mick Foley and Terry Funk are feuding over the TV title, with Funk returning to stop Foley from breaking his record number of defences.</p><p> </p><p> The tag team titles are being feuded over by Carribbean Sunshine Boys (Dave Bond and Johnny Kincaid) and Killer Instinct (Cannonball Grizzly and Spinner Mckenzie, renamed Big Grizzly and Killer Mckenzie).</p><p> </p><p> Robbie Brookside is feuding with Marty Jones over the World Lightweight Championship.</p><p> </p><p> Steven Regal finally returned from a long stint in rehab, was given a few months feud, won the British Middleweight belt, tested positive again and has been sent back to rehab. Johnny Kidd won the vacated title.</p>
