    Monday Week 2 May 1987

    Hampton Coliseum

    The Brother Love Show:

Monday Night Raw opens up with The Brother Love Show. Brother Love's guest this week is WWF Intercontinental Champion Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat (or Brother Dragon as Brother Love calls him). Brother Love questions Steamboat about Macho Man's actions the last couple of weeks. Steamboat replies that he doesn't know why Savage has come to help him, but he appreciates the gesture.

Savage then comes out and tells Steamboat that he didn't do it for Steamboat, he did it for himself. He wants redemption for Wrestlemania III and the only way to get that redemption is by beating Steamboat and he doesn't want to beat a Ricky Steamboat that has been beaten half to death by other wrestlers.

    The Brother Love Show

Brother Love: IIIIIIII LLLLLLOOOOOVVVVVEEEEE YYYYYYOOOOOUUUU! Brothers and Sisters, I was thumbing through the Book of Love and I came across a chapter about loyalty! And in the chapter on loyalty, it talked about staying true to who you are and not straying from the path you walk! You stay loyal to the path and the path will stay loyal to you! My guest this week has some questions that needs answered about his loyalties...Brother Macho Man Savage and Sister Lizabeth!"

    Savage: OOOOOHHHHH YYYEEEEAAAHHH!

Brother Love: Brother Macho, I couldn't help but notice last week on this very program that you stuck your nose in The Iron Sheik and Nikolai Volkoff's business when they were facing Ricky Steamboat. I thought you were there to help them against your enemy, but you cheapshotted them with a steel chair! What is going on in that head of yours, Brother Macho?!

Savage: Let me tell you something about loyalty, Brother Love. The Macho Man is loyal to NO ONE except the Macho Man! Uh huh! I always walk my own path and what side of the road I walk on is nobody's business except mine! YEAH!

Brother Love: But, Brother Macho, don't you think you owe Brother Sheik, Brother Nikolai, and Brother Slick an explanation?

Savage: I don't owe them NOTHIN! YEEEAAAHH!

*Slick makes his way to the stage*

Slick: WHHHHOOOAAA BRUTHA! I always held you to high esteem! Sheik and Comrade Volkoff also have thought very highly of you, so I ask, where is this hostility coming from and do we have a problem?

Savage: Noooooo Slick, we don't have a problem...YET. If everyone is so curious as to what makes the Macho Man tick, I'll tell ya. Wrestlemania III, Ricky Steamboat got LUCKY and pinned me in the middle of the ring. I have to live with the defeat everyday of my LIFE! The ONLY thing that can give me peace is if I BEAT Steamboat and take back the Intercontinental Championship! Uh huh! However, I don't want Steamboat to have ANY excuses when I beat him. NO. So, when I see Steamboat in a disadvantage, I came to his aid simply to keep him at his best when we step foot in the ring against each other again! Uh huh! So, if you, Volkoff, Sheik or ANYBODY have a problem with that then meet me head on like a MAN! DIG IT!

Slick: HEY NOW, BRUTHA! Take it easy, my man! We don't have a problem, but let this be a warning to you, Macho Man, don't get in my men's way again or there WILL be a problem.

Savage: IS THAT SO?! Well, Slllllick, tell your men to tread lightly around the Macho Man's affairs, because the last thing they want is problems with the Macho Man! OOOOHHHH YEEEEAAAAHHH!

Savage stays in the ring as Steamboat picks himself back up. They have a staredown, then Steamboat offers Savage a handshake, but Savage responds with a slap to the face, then exits the ring.

    The Brother Love Show:

Brother Love: IIIIIIIIIII LLLLLLLLLLLOOOOOOOVVVVVEEEEEE YYYYYYOOOOOUUUUU and WEL-COME to the Brother Lllloooovve Show! It is an honor! An honor! For the very FIRST guest of the Brother Love Show to be a very dear, close, personal friend of Brother Love! He is a man of INTE-GRI-TY! A man of HON-OR! A man who LLLOOOOVVVVEEESSSS YYYYOOOUUU almost as much as Brother LLLLLOOOOOVVE does! Allow me to intro-duce to you....Brother Bobby "The Brain" Heenan and the NEW World Wrestling Federation Heavyweight Champion Brother Wonderful Paul Orndorff!

*Bobby Heenan and Paul Orndorff come to the stage and they both hug Brother Love*

Heenan: It is an HONOR, Brother Love, to share this stage with a man with class and high moral fiber!

Brother Love: Well thank you, Brother Brain! Now let me ask you how this WONDERFUL plan came together with you and Brother Wonderful Paul Orndorff!

Heenan: It would be my please, Brother Love! Let's go back to last year when Mr. Wonderful turned his back on Hulk Hogan. Mr. Wonderful chased Hogan all over the world, trying to take the WWF Championship away from Hogan. Orndorff had the title won on numerous occasions if it weren't for bad officiating getting in the way.

WWF officials would not give any more title shots to Mr. Wonderful, so I had to come up with another plan to get the title off of Hogan. That's where Andre The Giant came in. I had gotten him suspended from the WWF that summer and only I could life the suspension. That's when I got in Andre's ear and turned him against his best friend, Hulk Hogan, by saying Hogan had been ducking him all of these years. I could lift his suspension and guide him to fulfilling his destiny to becoming WWF Champion.

The dummy bought it hook, line, and sinker. He turned his back on his best friend and all of the humanoids around the world that looked up to him! However, Hulk Hogan threw me a curve ball and packed his bags and left the WWF to pursue "politics". Instead of handing the WWF Title over to Andre, WWF officials decided to name a new opponent for Wrestlemania III for the vacant WWF Championship.

That's when the opportunity was open for Mr. Wonderful to come in the backdoor to get himself another shot at the title. I pleaded my case to WWF officials that Orndorff deserved to be in the match considering how close he previously was to winning the WWF Title and the officials AGREED with me! At that moment, the plan was in motion. Once the WWF officials put Mr. Wonderful in the match, I was able to add a clause to the contract that the title can be won via a DQ victory.

Andre The Dummy can't read and never saw the clause in the contract. While pinning Andre The Giant would have been nice, the main goal was for Mr. Wonderful to become the World Wrestling Federation Heavyweight Champion and we accomplished that goal at Wrestlemania III!

Then, last week on the debut episode of Monday Night Raw, we sprung the trap on the big dummy. He thought I was about to give him the WWF Title, but all he got was a trip to the hospital thanks to the NEW WWF World Heavyweight Champion Mr. Wonderful! HA HA HA HA!

Orndorff: That's right, Bobby. This was over a year in the making, but I'm FINALLY the WWF Champion! And I'll be damned if anyone is going to take this belt from me that easily! I don't care who you are! Jake Roberts, Ricky Steamboat, Randy Savage, Jim Duggan, you bring them to me and I'll knock them down!

Heenan: LOVE LIVE MR. WONDERFUL! LONG LIVE MR. WONDERFUL! LONG LIVE MR. WONDERFUL!

*Mr. Wonderful does the Hulk Hogan ear cup taunt to taunt the crowd as the segment fades out*

In-Ring Segment: Bobby "The Brain" Heenan is with "The 8th Wonder of the World" Andre The Giant. Heenan is still holding the WWF World Title that he took from ringside at Wrestlemania III. Heenan looks at Andre and says "I love it when a plan comes together! To think, he was too stupid to read the fine print in the contract! Well, that shouldn't surprise me as I don't think he can even read! Haha! Ladies and gentleman...and I use that term very loosely, allow me to introduce to you the NEW....the NEW...World Wrestling Federation Heavyweight Champion...*Heenan looks over at Andre and smiles* "Mr. Wonderful" Paul Orndorff!"

Andre looks over at Heenan puzzled, which turns into anger as he starts yelling at Heenan. Andre gets in Bobby's face and backs him into a corner as Bobby pleads for mercy yelling "PLEASE LET ME EXPLAIN!" Andre doesn't want to hear it as he grabs Bobby, yelling at him. At this point, Paul Orndorff comes into the ring and sneaks up on Andre and clips the back of Andre's leg causing the giant to crumple to the mat in pain. Orndorff starts attacking Andre's leg, even getting a steal chair and ramming it into Andre's knee as Andre yells in pain. A swarm of officials come out to stop Orndorff from further damaging Andre The Giant's knee as Heenan places the WWF Title around Orndorff's waist as Orndorff taunts the crowd.

Post-Match: "Macho Man" Randy Savage comes out and gets in Steamboat's face and challenges Steamboat to a rematch for the IC Title. Steamboat accepts as Raw goes off the air.

  15. I like how quickly you're moving forward in this dynasty. WrestleMania III was an interesting show, which I will try not to spoil. That main event is certainly a daring choice, but given the original match, I think you made the right call on short notice. After his actions during the WWF Championship match, I believe Bobby Heenan's days on the active roster may be numbered as well.

Yeah...Savage/Steamboat was really my only choice to close the show as it was the program with the most heat next to Piper/Adonis now that Hogan went on his *ahem* political career. Not to mention, I didn't want to end Wrestlemania on a DQ, which was done to continue the story which will advance in a major way on the first episode of Raw.

Now comes the real hard part is figuring the main event scene for the next year while Hogan is gone. As my title indicated, which should be obvious anyways regarding the time period, Hogan was my centerpiece and I had two years worth of the main event scene set that I have to push back a year at the minimum. Plus, I gave Piper time off to mimic real life, so he won't be around for a while either. I'm thin on babyfaces, but I'm not ready to pull the trigger on a Savage babyface turn. So, I've got to spend some time building stand-in top babyfaces.

Okerlund: Alright, please welcome my guest at this time...Bobby "The Brain" Heenan!

Okerlund: Mr. Heenan, it must be a stressful last 24 hours for you.

Heenan: Stressful? Hardly, Okerlund. The past 24 hours has been great!

Okerlund: Well, it was announced that "Mr. Wonderful" Paul Orndorff will be facing "The 8th Wonder of the World" Andre The Giant for the vacant World Wrestling Federation Championship at Wrestlemania III. It must be stressful for you knowing that two of your men will be facing each other.

Heenan: Stop trying to stir up controversy, Okerlund! There is nothing wrong with a little healthy competition within the members of my Family. Regardless of who wins, EVERYBODY in the Heenan Family will win, because we will finally have a WWF World Heavyweight Champion within the Family.

Okerlund: Based on your comments and actions on Piper's Pit, you seemed to be trying to NOT have Orndorff compete at Wrestlemania III!

Heenan: That's not true! I was merely concerned for Paul's health. Andre is very angry and is on a mission to become WWF Champion. I don't want to see Paul get hurt!

Okerlund: So, you're saying that you don't think Orndorff can beat Andre?

Heenan: No! That's not what I'm saying at all! I'm just saying that Andre has a short temper and there's no telling what he's capable of!

Okerlund: So, you're implying that Andre The Giant could LOSE to Paul Orndorff?

Heenan: Now....now...no...I'm not saying that either! Andre The Giant is undefeated!

Okerlund: Then, whose corner are going to be in at Wrestlemania III?!

Heenan: Stop trying to cause trouble, Okerlund! I'm going to be in a neutral corner. As far as I'm concerned, this interview is over!

Okerlund: There you have it, folks, Bobby Heenan isn't showing his hand! The Weasel's going to go with whoever wins if you ask me!
