  1. I notice a lot of real world mods have the behaviors for a lot of wrestlers wrong or just kind of standard, given there needs to be public stories about those wrestlers. For example, usually I use Haley J for fodder in my women's divisions, just found this article about a situation between her, Dani Mo, Facade and almost the whole OVW roster.

  2. I wonder what a wish list is for updating this...

I'm very in between pursuing a 2001, post-Vince release from prison update (seems daunting) and an update to the current version.

    (1) Mexican territory seems to be a call-out throughout the thread.

    (2) More modern day workers for longer plays?

I wish I could schedule scandals in the future, or negative effects on workers. I think this is a huge portion of future state modding that would make significant improvements to long-term plays.

I've completely revamped the broadcasters to lessen their ridiculous viewership long-term. Decreased popularity across the board as well, to lessen viewership and overall popularity scaling too high too quickly. I'm also considering revamping the gimmicks in the database and their assignments to workers.

The difficult thing as well is I am so far gone from having worked on this that it is hard to grasp where I left things exactly.

A 2001 update would very nice, but if you really wanted to introduce more scandals and/or other events, I would say 2003-2005 is a good time period to do an update honestly.

  3. Finally I've decided to start actually making mods for release after creating them for myself to f**k around in. I've been playing and making mods on TEW since 2016 and I used to do the same with EWR too. I've been working on one mod since I got the permission from the base mods creator, the 2003 mod by Basmat01. My 2003 mod will start off in January, just in an alternate universe from ours.

    Backstory

It all really started in 1993. Ric Flair just returned to WCW from WWF and already tried to realign himself with Arn Anderson however, Arn didn't want Ric to be on his side anymore. Arn scolded Ric for leaving WCW for a big payday, leaving the Horsemen, and leaving Arn to carry them through the darkest days for the group. Tully retired because of it, Arn almost did too, and Ric brought it on them, so Arn turned on Ric (whereas in real life Ric & Arn teamed back up).

This one change in this feud from 10 years before the starting point made wrestling look completely different from what it did in the real life timeline. But it's what happened in those 10 years that is worth taking a look at.

From after the Anderson/Flair storyline in 1993 to 1995, nothing major changed in wrestling. 1997 however... 1997 would shock the wrestling world. In November, the Montreal Screwjob happened and Bret Hart was screwed out of his World Championship. Instead of writing WCW in the air like he did in real life, Bret grabbed spray paint and sprayed the canvas with the letters WCW, which had a much more dramatic effect to everything.

Bret Hart, Jim Neidhart, and Davey Boy Smith left WWF the day after Survivor Series, also convincing Owen Hart to leave WWF a couple days after. The entire Hart family plus Bulldog and Neidhart sued WWF to get The Hart Foundation trademarks and to get out of the 60-day non compete clauses, and they actually won.

At Starrcade 1997, Hollywood Hulk Hogan was in the main event competing against Sting, who would lose to Hogan after Scott Steiner interfered and attacked Sting without the referee noticing. After Steiner officially joined the nWo and was about to perform his finish on Sting, that iconic guitar screech sounded throughout the arena to no surprise, but a standing ovation from the fans. The Hart Foundation helped Sting fight off the nWo and capped the night on a high note.

So, WCW knowing they have all these stars on hand now formed a long-term storyline that could lead to them toppling the WWF.

Oops, wait, I forgot to mention something vital. In 1998, the Worldwide Wildlife Fund or whatever they're called sued the World Wrestling Federation over the rights to the name WWF. World Wrestling Federation lost as they did in real life, just now in real life. Vince had to rename the company on a whim since Wrestlemania was coming up so WWF became WWE, like real life. World Wrestling Enterprise had gone on a roll and WCW couldn't keep up in ratings, as in September 98, WWE's Monday Night Raw beat WCW's Monday Nitro for the first time since AUGUST of 1997!

    End, for now.

I'll update this eventually, I'm still getting all the data ready so this mod probably won't be out for a while but I figured I'll hype it up!

Oh, and as I was about to end this long post I completely forgot that I named this thread my mods, with a plural... I'm working on another alternate universe idea that would be based in 2020 or 2021, but I want to make that mod from scratch (which is going to take me a really long time, but I think it will be worth it.)

Thanks for reading all this if you did!!!

  4. So here is the update for December, the big update this month is with the broadcasters, I've gone through and tweeked a few things and expanded and added a few new broadcasters, for Europe and Oceania I have added the broadcast country name into the title, along with expanding European broadcasters into all regions. Had a few personal issue this month so havent got round to finishing the logos which is why there is not an updated logo pack this month, I'm going to try and go all out and get the graphics and workers sorted for January. I've addeda few new workers this month, all listed in the editor, but I've also expanded the user characters, most variants of unknown owners/bookers, but I've also added an EWR throwback with Sophie making her return (picture file name Sophie_EWR). Other than that it's the usual updates for the month, not much suggested to update and due to my personal issue might have missed a few things so anything missed post and I'll try and get them in for January.

Hey Who, I was wondering if this mod is also freeware like October? I'm not sure of anything just yet but I might make a database.

  5. Genadi has been working on his Summer of Punk mod for a while now, even before the launch of TEW2020. In recent months to my knowledge he has been "swamped with work" and doesn't have time to work on the mod. A bit of a shame but I obviously value his personal life more than a TEW mod. It'll come out eventually, when is that eventually? I have no clue.

I can't wait until it's out, I've been looking forward to it for a while. I've been making a lot of "practice" or test databases for a while, I wanted to see if I could gather up some people and make a mod all together, whenever you feel like doing it. I have the idea for an alternative reality universe mod but there could be more than that.

I was actually thinking of making a database of the Forever A Moment series from youtube. (if you know, you know)

EDIT: reading this back, I realize this comment is very shallow as I only said one thing about Genadi. I would like to say I also value his personal life over a game mod and I am a fan of his mods too.

  6. I have an idea for an alternate reality mod, but I'm looking to put together a discord of people who want to make this one, the base of the mod is Wrestlemania flopping completely on its ass. The 2011 mod would just be a Summer of Punk mod, and I figure the more people the better because there's been talk of a 2011 mod but it hasn't come out yet (to my knowledge).
