  1. Funny thing about Dino Bravo: he was a big Montreal Canadiens fans, and he had legit beef with Quebec Nordiques coach Michel Bergeron. In one game, Bravo walked behind the Nordiques bench and the two were gonna go at it. They were separated by the players and the coaching staff! Anyways: Abdullah Jacques Rougeau Sr. Gotta set up the big bloodbath against Abdullah for next year. Leduc and Baillargeon. I'm surprised Paul isn't his tag team partner here. Renée. To end the year on a high. Robert and Raymond. Good ol' wrestling nepotism. Who will win the ASW Canadian title tournament? Gino Brito.
  2. Oof, all those DQ finishes are among the reasons why i could never really stomach an old school wrestling show...as much as i find looking into the sport's past fascinating, i am definitely prefer japanese/modern stuff a lot more. (Well, not Modern modern, but modern in the sense that the 90s and 2000s is vastly different from the 60s or 70s)
  3. Nah, i never talked about it. Maybe i should psot it int he TEW 2016 whats going on in your game thread.
  4. This reminds me of my OLLIE game in TEW 2016, where i went on break after finally finishing my stories with Dia National de Lucha 2018. I successfully transitioned to the 4 pillars of Lucha, with Mr. Lucha 3 and Extraordinario burying their year-long hatchet (Mr. Lucha 3 won the Universal title to Hijo Del Mephisto at Dia Nacional 2016, but Extraordinario Jr was jealous of his friend's success and joined Los Engendros del infierno to become strong enough to beat Mr Lucha for the title at Dia National 2017, before he lost the title to Nicolas Lopez due to Mr. Lucha seeming doubts in his head, leading to Extraordinario confronting Mephisto) by Extraordinario defeating Mephisto in a mask vs mask match with help from Mr. Lucha, El Mitico Jr., El Leon and Soul Taker taking out the rest of los engendros del infierno, with Soul Taker cleansing the demon's soul as a send off to Hijo Del Mephisto leaving and a fitting end to Soul Taker's career, using his powers for good instead of evil. Mr. Lucha and Extraordinario Jr. Then hugged to end their beef. Before that match, El Mitico Jr and my user character El Leon fought a great match, with Mitico defeating El Leon to finally prove he surpassed his mentor and belongs as a pillar, while in the main event of the evening, Gino Montero and Nicolas Lopez fought the final match of their feud to determine the ace of Mexico for the Universal title, with Montero finally, after so many tries, ending Lopez's record 7th reign as Universal champion with the Montero Press to become Universal champion for the first time and become the Ace of Mexico. His family came down to celebrate, while Lopez payed respect, ending the show on a high note. The following saturday, on Super Sabados, Los Monteros teamed up with Mr. Lucha 3 to take on Lopez, El Mitico and Marcos Flores in a special trios match to celebrate Lopez and Flores's loyal years of services. After the match, everyone involved stayed in the ring to pay their respect to Lopez, with Extraordinario coming out to pay respect as well...until Mr. Lucha does an unexpected backdrop driver on Gino and Extraordinario superkicks Luis Jr and Mitico! Mr. Lucha, the second biggest babyface after Gino, turns heel! Mr. Lucha hugged Extraordinario at the end not just because they defeated Mephisto for good: he realised that he felt the same way as Extraordinario after losing the Universal title. Both want to be back on top, and both feel they deserve to be the ace, and they have a common target in the OLLIE Universal title held by Gino. Now, it is Mr. Lucha 3 and Extraordinario vs Los Monteros. Nicolas Lopez, meanwhile, has great tag chemistry with Mitico, and so looks to help Mitico get one against Extraordinario...this, however, is secretly making his eternal kings partner and lifelong brother in all but relations, Marcos Flores, jealous... In other news, speaking of Pinky Perez, she is the dominant women's champion, with Sarah Marie York and Electric Dreamer the main challengers, while the tag champs have been a reunited Masked Lightning, Velocidad and Ultra Spark Jr, who had a record 11 title defenses before dropping the belts to the team of former Mexico champ Chess Maniac and El.Hijo Del Espada Roja, who turned out to have great tag chemistry and revitalised my tag scene heel-wise. This will lead to a program with Nicolas Lopez and El Mitico Jr, since Mitico also have unfinished business with Chess Maniac, who, ever the chess master, might take the opportunity to ally with Mr. Lucha and Extraordinario considering their beef with Mitico... Finally, the mexico title is held by Hijo del Relampago, who defeated Guerrero Muerto for the title and is now feuding with El Exaltado, a heel El Heroe Mexicano whom i poached from SOTBPW As for the predictions, i'm going with aboardtheark's predictions, as this is what i would've said, as well
  5. Sunny War Cloud! Now that's somebody i didn't expect to see! I didn't know he's that old. Dude is well known in the quebec wrestling scene, and he's still following the Quebec indy scene nowadays. Although he's pretty notorious for being a bit of a boomer on certain aspects of wrestling, not unlike ol' Jimmy C, Sunny is still liked in the scene, and he's self-aware enough to admit when he's being a boomer. Case in point, on facebook, he checked out a recent show from NSPW, the Quebec City promotion, and he said that it seemed like a good show and he wished to be there...but then, the booker of the company, who's friends with him, told him that he wouldn't like it, since there was 4 intergender matches on the card lol. Sunny then answered "heh, seeing your wife compete in her jiu-jitsu competitions, i can believe it." 😂
  6. He could simply bring in New York's male wrestlers only. Brito, Koloff and Parissi are already wrestling there. Also, i made a mistake. Pat Patterson was in San Francisco, he wasn't wrestling in New York yet. Though he could still come in to help with star power.
  7. He still has the garvins, the women, gino brito and Ivan Koloff. Plus, he could always use New York nearby to bring Pat Patterson back in the province and ally with the Cormiers in Halifax.
  8. The ones who did IRL initially were the Vachons, the Leducs, Édouard Carpentier and they brought in Billy Two Rivers, Killer Kowalski, the original Hollywood Blondes and their ace in the hole, Andre the Giant, which Carpentier brought over from France.
  9. I know that part of quebec hsitory all too well. The promotion wars there almost killed the territory, because they all wanted to get the Forum and the favors of the montreal athletic commission. It did lead to some of the biggest wrestling shows in Quebec wrestling history, but alas, both Grand Prix (the vachons's promotion) and All-Star Wrestling went bust. Only Gino Brito managed to save Quebec wrestling by founding Lutte International with Marc Valois and Andre the Giant and brought in his guys Rick Martel, Dino Bravo and the Rougeaus (Jacques Jr and Raymond), along with Billy Robinson, Pierre Mad Dog Lefevbre, Meng (AKA King Tonga in quebec), Richard le Magnifique Charland, the Road Warriors and the Garvins back in the province. At least, in this world, the Women's division will at least give All-Star Wrestling a popular element and cost-effective measure so that Johnny wouldn't have to overpay to bring in guys and still put people int he seats. Plus, the 70s saw Quebec and its own feminist movement led by Lise Payette emerging into prominence, so the women's division would be even more popular here.
  10. Sting's Squadron Vader Jushin Thunder Liger Cactus Jack MVC RNR Eddie Guerrero Johnny B. Badd
  11. Maybe to get Malenko along with Benoit and Liger, you could get a working agreement with New Japan, if you don't already have it from the start.
  12. AWA World Light Heavyweight Championship Mike Graham (C) VS. Steve Regal Grudge Match Baron Von Raschke VS. Tito Santana I think we keep Raschke strong so as to prepare him to face Martel AWA World Tag Team Championships The High Flyers (Greg Gagne & Jim Brunzell) (C) VS. The Sheiks (Jerry Blackwell & Ken Patera) just so the booker can say he's not biased Curt Hennig's Open Challenge Curt Henning VS. ??? The mystery challenger is gonna be Nick Bockwinkel, for he has been the one who spread the word that Curt's only around because he's his old enemy Larry Hennig's son. He will prove that the Hennigs are inferior, and while Curt gives him a much tougher fight, Heenan comes to Bockwinkel's rescue and Bockwinkel wins, thus starting Hennig's push and storyline slowly, but surely Main Event Number One Contender's Match Winner Faces Nick Bockwinkel In February Loser Considered The Next Contender In Line For A Title Opportunity In March Hulk Hogan VS. Wahoo McDaniel No brainer, really. Hogan hesitates, but in the end, he defeats Wahoo and wins the title in February. Hogan's just way too hot. Strap a rocket on him and send him to the moon. Plus, you can have Wahoo actually be motivated to do the rematch and actually ask Hogan to go all out so as to really prove if the student surpassed the master
  13. I don't wanna derail the thread with my stuff, but to keep it short, it's actually part of my alternate sports world, with the main PODs for wrestling being what if Vince and Moolah never existed, and the WWWA as a promotion still exists.
  14. Martel and Richard gonna have one heck of a blowoff match, for sure. This TL inspired me to make my own women's wrestling alternate timeline, though i dunno if i should share it with the world and where would be the appropriate place for it...
  15. Isn't Schultz already in AWA at this time? I remember him feuding with Hogan IRL. Could be the perfect number 2 for Heenan. Other than that, yeah, Borne and Adams would be great to have for the midcard belt for Hennig and Tito to feud with. Speaking of Tito, already planting the seeds for Strike Force to form? Noice.
  16. Nice first show, and already a compelling angle with Hogan having to beat Wahoo to earn his title shot.
  17. Having a big three of Hogan, Martel and Hennig would've set the AWA for the entirety of the 80s, man. I even created a few storylines of my own using this scenario in my no Vince TL. -Hogan defeating Bockwinkel in a rematch using his japanese style, which he would've used a bit more in the AWA in matches where he needs to be absolutely serious. This will then lead to Hogan feuding with Heenan and whatever cronies he'd bring in. -Curt Hennig vs Bockwinkel over bockwinkel saying that the hennigs have always been inferior to him, which will lead to Curt winning to start his push. Then, he faces Rick Martel for the midcard belt, which would lead to them transitioning to main event alongside Hogan. -Martel would be tag teaming at first before getting his first singles push with his rivalry with Hennig starting initially for the newly created midcard belt, a rivalry that would then transition to the world title scene. In my version, martel's team was the can-am connection with the Z-man Tom Zenk, but if Santana stayed, then that would've made a worthy rival for him for the midcard belt, plus, it would've been a good opportunity to form strike force. -to consolidate its position in Canada, since the AWA already had the Winnipeg territory all by themselves, i figured that a working agreement with Stampeded and Montreal would be beneficial, since it would allow them to hosts shows in Montreal to take advantage of Rick Martel, and also to get fresh talents on the roster. -for tag teams, there was plenty of good tag teams, with Can-Am connection (or Strike Force, if Tito stays), the high flyers, Ventura and Adrian Adonis, the olympians and especially the road Warriors...however, i believe that the road warriors would've still have left, since in real life, they never really stuck around a promotion for too long. Thankfully, with the other mentioned teams and the agreements with Stampede and Montreal as well as the rockers, there would be enough depth that the road warriors departing would not be that big a deal. -a light heavyweight division is something i haven't really considered, considering there is a lack of non-japanese and mexican juniors in that time period. The only ones i know that could work are Dynamite Kid, Rollerball Rocco, Lanny Poffo and Joe Savoldi. The Guerreros were wrestling, though i figure Hector and Mando would be more of a tag team, which would lead Chavo Sr. For singles, and Chavo Sr. Was already pretty old at this point. But yeah, curious how this one will unfold
  18. BRUH, THAT'S MAZINGER Z!! (which did not exist in 1970) Also, yeah, maybe she cpuld've caught a glimpse pf ultraman, since it was around in 1970.
  19. Heh, that's funny, i came to the same conclusion in my alternate WWWA stuff on chatGPT. With the WWWA having the NWA World Women's and Tag Titles, they simply gave the WWWA singles and Tag belts to All Japan women, using the NWA titles as their main belts. Now, i dunno what would happen going to the 90s onward with the nuch weaker NWA, if the WWWA would keep the NWA Women's belts or maybe get back the WWWA titles when All Japan women goes under in 2005...
  20. That main event sounded like a great match...though i gotta say, i bet the stupid retire at 25 policy that AJW had at the time made it even harder to have a deep roster for thebpromotion in its early days...what were they thinking, man?
  21. Ooof, those prices...people would kill nowadays to eat at a good restaurant for only $20 lol
  22. Yessir! Can't wait to see Renée discover this country, man. Just going around the hot spots, trying to find her way in tokyo and also interacting with Jumbo Miyamoto and Aiko Kyo! She'll be in for a big wake up call when she'll step into the rign and see just how stiff and crazy those joshis are! That, and, who knows, maybe at a convenience store, she'll stumble upon an edition of Shonen Magazine to read Ashita no Joe or catch Astro Boy or the original Kamen Rider on TV!
  23. Wait, Princesa sugehit lost her mask? Wut?? Also, surprised barbaro cavernario is still there. I thought he'd have followed Rush and Dragon Lee
  24. A mixed legacy, for sure. One of the greatest game show hosts ever and a legendary figure for generations of kids who missed school during weekdays, and an animal rights activist, but his treatment of the models makes captain fat fuck, leader of men (tm) look like a saint in comparison. Never forget when he appeared on momday night raw that day. I couldn't believe it, and i still don't. It was so random lol
