  1. Catcher Vs Alois BCF Return to the UK after their first show in Mainland Europe. After a surprise victory from Matthew Michael Kirby. We have multiple debuts on the preliminary card here. Some are even making their MMA debut. The main event for this show is the heavyweight fight Percy Catcher vs Stafford Alois. Preliminary Fights Paul Goodfellow vs Jerome Atkins: In a decent match between two young promising fighters at welterweight. In a kickboxing showcase. Jerome atkins took the first round win, after hitting four heavy kicks to Goodfellows lead leg. Goodfellow crumbled to the mat after the last kick leaving him unable to continue and handing Jerome Atkins his TKO Victory. Fortunately for Goodfellow, there was no long-lasting damage to his legs after the match. Caragh Green vs Mickey Wallace: In a match that went the distance Caragh Green won by Unanimous decision. After taking down Wallace three times over the three round fight, and dominating on the ground. Mickey Wallace however was unfortunate most rounds, performing well when both fighters were on their feet, however he struggled to stop caragh from taking him down every round leading to his inevitable loss. Main Card Roko Stipanovic vs Murray O'Hare: In a match that almost went the distance, Roko Stipanovic won by Submission after locking in an armbar. O'hare took the first round after landing lots of strikes, even cutting Roko open very early into the round. Whilst Roko struggled to take control with his grappling at all. O'Hare was pretty gassed out midway through the second round and had to resort to holding onto the cage twice when Stipanovic looked to be about to take him down, and eventually lock in an armbar which O'Hare survives barely as the round ends. The final round was all Stipanovic however, and he finally locked in the arm bar again, and with no bell to save O'hare this time he was forced to tap out. After the match Stipanovic called out Emil Karlsson for a fight Snuffy Fontana vs Andrew Rush: In a short fight, where Andrew rush didn't get much offence in what so ever Snuffy Fontana managed to lock in a D'Arce Choke two minutes into the first round Forcing Rush to tap out. After the match, Snuffy thanked all of his sponsors, supporters and family. Snuffy moves up in the rankings in BCF up to number 10. Rupert Lennox vs Dom Yorke: The first round of this fight was pretty much a wild brawl between both fighters with no technical ability being displayed what so ever. Lennox wanting to finish the fight as soon as possible cut Yorke open. However the round ended with Yorke finally landing a takedown, but the bell went before anything could change from there. Round two was more of the same with Lennox the more aggressive and dangerous man hitting punch and kick after punch and kick. The match almost ended after Lennox hit a sweet right hook and getting in a clinch hitting big kicks and knees to the chest, but Yorke survived to the bell. The third round was when it all changed however, with an really tired Lennox, and a bloody and hurt Yorke. Yorke managed to get a takedown very early into the final round and he stayed on top for the entire round smothering Lennox in the ground. Lennox, now exhausted couldn't do anything at all to stop him, before Yorke managed to lock in a Kimura, forcing Lennox to tap, saving the fight and securing the win that was definitely going to Lennox before this round. Dag Kreuger vs Crow Leddy: The Debut of "The Viking" Dag Kreuger was one people were eager to see, and he did not disappoint. The first round had the crowd buzzing the entire time as both fighters showed off their amazing boxing skills. Kreuger getting the most out of the round. Leddy managed to take Kreuger down however near the end of the round, but it wasn't enough for the judges to give the round to the Viking. Round two was more of the same from Kreuger, landing more powerful strikes, before he rocked Leddy with a powerful left hand, and then two more leaving Leddy down against the side of the cage, unable to get a good defense in. Kreuger hit a few more big strikes before the ref stopped the fight, a little late in my opinion. Kreuger gets the TKO Victory and starts his BCF career with an emphatic win. Vikram Sithalayan vs Mills Mullaly: In a great match Vikram Sithalayan managed to defeat the Mercenary Mills Mullaly by Rear Naked Choke in the third round of the match. The match overall was pretty even up until the final round, with both fighters getting in some great strikes. Unfortunately for Mullaly, Vikrams superior wrestling ability was what ended the fight after taking him down for the second time in the fight, there was nothing Mullaly could do to stop the Rear Naked Choke. Percy Catch vs Stafford Alois: Going into the fight Stafford Alois had all the advantages to win the fight, a weight and reach advantage, and a superior kickboxing record too. Alois took the first round after both fighters hit a flurry of punches to each other, with no man really taking advantage. Round two of the fight was an interesting one, as Alois was tiring already he got Catcher into a clinch and up against the side of the cage for most the round doing some dirty boxing. Alois just edged the round as both fighters were exhausted already. Catcher took round three, after both fighters constantly tried to take each other to the mat, with nobody able to do anything as both fighters were exhausted. Alois edged round four with more of the same, as both fighters couldn't take each other down, they've resorted to wrestling instead of striking for the previous two rounds. Into the final round Catcher managed to finally take Alois down, and land a few strikes before Alois got back to his feet and put Catcher up against the cage for the remainder of the fight, until we got the final bell. After a weird fight from both fighters. Stafford Alois took the UD victory, and retains his spot at number three in the heavyweight division looking for a fight with Alexander Ivanov to decide the number one contender for the heavyweight championship.
  2. Teneyev vs Kirby: Berlin Germany Today marks the big day that BCF fans have been waiting for, for quite some time. As "The Hand Grenade" Valentin Teneyev makes his debut in the capital of Germany against 8-0 fighter Matthew Michael Kirby. And although Teneyev is the heavy favourite for this fight, Kirby is no slouch. Valentin Kirby who stands 6'4" is one of the tallest lightweight competitors in the world and has a substantial seven-inch reach advantage over Teneyev. Other fights on the card have another long-awaited debut of "The Great Bear" Aleksander Ivanov vs Vic Millican in the heavyweight division. Ivanov is the heavy favourite who has a massive height and weight advantage over Millican and is expected to win this fight. Also on the card are three promising German fighters; Light Heavyweight Stef Lomb, Lightweight Jochen Bellof and Middleweight Hans-Peter Schneider. Preliminary Max Rebottaro #20 vs Connor Houghton #19: A decent fight to open the preliminary fights. The nineteen-year-old Max Rebottaro defeated Thirty-one-year-old Conor Houghton by unanimous decision after three rounds. Although the fight was pretty even overall with Max Rebottaro getting two takedowns and hitting more punches than Houghton it was inevitable for him to be announced as the winner in this fight. And afterwards, he invited members of the audience to an after-party. Malloy Hahoney #17 vs Grant Kyle #20: In a decent welterweight fight. Mahoney managed to defeat Grant Kyle by Unanimous decision after three rounds. The entirety of the match was fought on their feet as Mahoney hit thirty-one strikes to Kyle's six. Although there were many attempts by both fighters to take the other one down no one was able to for the entire fight, leading to Mahoney's victory. Ozzy Bintley #19 vs Constantin Burlacu #17: In the final preliminary fight that also went the distance Ozzy Bintley managed to win the fight over the twenty-year-old rookie from Romania hitting an overwhelming amount of strikes. Burlacu still fought bravely for the entire fight and wasn't even taken down, despite realising he had a broken nose after the fight. Bintley won the fight 30-27, 30-26, 30-27 on the judges scoreboards. The Main Card Neville Granville #15 vs Stef Lomb #18: The first Fight on the main card featured German twenty-year-old fighter Stef Lomb taking on Neville Granville from Newcastle in the Light-Heavyweight Division, and Lomb was the heavy favourite going into the fight. Lomb received a huge ovation as he entered the arena. Unfortunately for him, the ovation made him overconfident and he started the fight by disrespecting Granville and not going for a touch of gloves as the fight started. And one minute and fifteen seconds later Lomb was out on his back after Granville hit him with a beautiful uppercut and pounded down on him before the referee stopped the fight. Jochen Bellof #10 vs Gerrard Kneeling #15: In the second England vs Germany fight on the card in the Lightweight Division Bellof and Kneeling went up against each other. And in this fight, there was a little bit more respect between the two of them. Kneeling started the fight off with a weak kick to the leg of Bellof which seemed to only annoy the German who responded with three quick punches and an uppercut knocking Kneeling against the cage, one strike later Kneeling was down on the ground and as Belloff mounted him and threw one more big punch the referee stopped the fight. Arguably an early call however it seemed like Kneeling was up against it from the beginning. Hans-Peter Schneider #3 vs Charlie Oakley #11: In a match where the rankings of these two fighters didn't tell the whole story. Schneider the Veteran and number three fighter was the slight underdog in this fight at+100 on the betting line compared to Oakleys -130. And in the fight round of the fight Schneider dominated with strikes cutting Oakley up early. However round two was a completely different story with Oakley managing to get their takedowns in five minutes. However, each time he seemed to progress on the ground the referee controversially stood up both fighters. Oakley took the round but his corner was frustrated in the ref's actions. And in the final round Schneider hit a few punches once again before Oakley took him down with two minutes left in the fight. He started to hit a few punches which weren't really doing anything and the ref decided to stand up both fighters again. With no time left in the round for Oakley Schneider managed to take the Unanimous Decisions 29-28 by all three judges. The fight will likely happen again as Oakley was livid with the referee and the decision. Martin Cupples #9 vs Lain Fussell #8: In a great matchup in the welterweight division Cupples defeated Fussell in two rounds by TKO after one minute into the second round. Fussell took the first round in what turned out to be a boxing showcase. With both fighters managing to dodge strikes from the other fighter consistently both fighters hitting very little shots until Fussell managed to take down Cupples just before the bell. Fussell had all the confidence and momentum going into round two and that might have been his downfall as he went in and got hit by a beautiful left hook before Cupples climbed on top and finished off the fight winning by TKO. Aleksander Ivanov (unranked) vs Vic Millican #8: The co-main event had the debut of Aleksander Ivanov. The former SIGMA heavyweight champion making his debut against Vic Millican. Ivanov offered a touch of gloves which Millican ignored. wanting to get in early and try and finish Ivanov off fast. Unfortunately for Millican his strikes were ineffective and Ivanov took him down quickly, hitting a few punches of his own. The ref once against stood both fighters up with 2:52 left in the round. Many expecting this to go like Oakleys fight earlier in the night. However Ivanov managed to take Millican down again thirty seconds later. And one minute after that locked in a Guillotine choke forcing Millican to tap out. Ivanov starts off his career with BCF with an emphatic victory. Valentin Teneyev #3 vs Matthew Michael Kirby #10: In the main event many people expected Teneyev to put Kirby away really fast. With Teneyev -850 on the betting lines vs Kirby's +670 Teneyev was the enormous favourite. But that isn't exactly what happened as the fight managed to actually go all five rounds. Kirby took the first round 10-9 after both fighters hit a lot of shots. Kirby however, managed to hit more despite being taken down once by Teneyev. And then he also took round two being the more aggressive fighter once again despite being taken down at the end of the round once again. However he was beginning to tire slightly. Round Three also went to Kirby meaning if Teneyev was to win he would need to get a finish at this point. Kirby was slowing down substantially now though. He also just barely edged the fourth round too according to the judges despite it looking like Teneyev was in control the entire round. Kirby was exhausted now and Teneyev was starting to slow down too. If Teneyev was going to win he would need to finish Kirby in this final round. All Kirby needed to do was survive. And that's exactly what his strategy was. For the entire final round, Kirby was practically held up against the cage. And he was happy to keep Teneyev there. Despite the referee correctly breaking both fighters up all he did was stay up against the cage again, and as the seconds ticked by the final bell finally went. In an enormous Upset. The twenty-two year old Matthew Michael Kirby managed to defeat Valentin Teneyev by Unanimous decision 48-47 on all three scorecards extending his record to 9-0 whilst Teneyev has to settle for an 11-1 record. Against any other fighter I'd like to think Kirby would have knocked his opponent out but Teneyev managed to survive the early rounds and also potentially win the last two rounds but it wasn't enough. What will happen next in BCF's attempt to expand out into Europe as arguably one of their biggest European starts has fallen at the first hurdle here. And is the Teneyev vs Niko Soldo Fight still on despite this victory? And what will become of Kirby after pulling off the biggest upset over the past few years? Will BCF management treat him with the respect he deserves or will he be punished for ruining Teneyev's big debut? All will be seen in future BCF shows.
  3. BCF 1: Baines vs Olsen Today marked the first show of the new era of British Cage Fighting, under new Ceo Rory Corbett. The show took place in Central London in front of just over one thousand fans. The show being headlined by the BCF Middleweight championship fight between the champion Rob Baines and the number one contender Henning Olsen. The show consisted of six main show fights and three preliminary fights, featuring up and coming british stars and the old guard wanted to defend their positions in the rankings. We spoke to Corbett before the show to give his thoughts on the new Ceo Saying "This is a new era in this company, everyone is going to get an opportunity to prove to me that they deserve to be here. I am excited for the future of this company, things are looking strong. Preliminary fights: The prelims on this fight card showcased two new stars of the heavyweight division as well as a welterweight showcase fight. Starting with new signing Perry Potenkin vs veteran Howard Pursglove. It didn't take long for Potenkin to take control of this fight. Although he is vastly inexperience compared to Pusglove he managed to get him into a triangle submission forcing him to tap out in two minutes and twenty-five seconds into the first round. Up next was a slower-paced fight, surprisingly, as two young welterweight competitors went up against each other with not a lot of action in the first two rounds the fight ended in just under two and a half minutes into the final round where Jerome Atkins managed to knock out Kush Singh with a knee strike. The #20 fighter in the division coming out on top of the #18 fighter. And lastly on the prelims with Morgan 'The Maori' Wakarewarewa vs Linton Renn in the heavyweight division. The 6'6" Wakarewarewa dominated the fight when many expected him to win by Unanimous decision due to his wrestling background, this was not the case as in just under two and a half minutes into the first round The Maori was able to take Renn down and win by TKO. Capping off his BCF debut with a win as well. Main Card Ram Phookan (#6)vs Ivor Orr (#7): The first fight on the main show was a middleweight fight between Mixed martial artist Ram Phookan and Wrestler Ivor Orr. Orr was definitely the favourite going into this fight and nobody predicted Ram Phookan to do anything special in this fight. However, after the first two rounds he was dominating Orr. The fight did end up going the distance and with Ram Phookan managing to come out on top in a split decision after landing 99 punches compared to Orr's 4 punches. Orr attempted two takedowns in the fight, unable to get any of them and was easily defeated by Phookan Mal Beswick (#11) vs Sid Morgan (#13): Up next was Beswick vs Morgan in the lightweight division in what was predicted to be a pretty even matchup. In what was expected to be a wrestling showcase. And as predicted the fight was pretty even with both fighters grappling for control for the majority of the fight. Neither one of them was able to land the winning submission and the fight went the distance. Mal Beswick was decided to be the winner but by a split decision. Morgan was not happy with the result, and we expect to see a rematch some down the line between the two of them. Christopher Drew (#10) vs Dave Lennon (#8): In a heavyweight fight we saw Drew vs Lennon. Drew is vastly inexperienced in the cage compared to his much older opponent. The didn't scare the 25-year-old boxer as he went straight for Lennon. Lennon, a well established boxer in his own right, struggled against the young heavyweight getting cut early in the second round. As the third round started Lennon was put back together again when Drew hit a nasty right hook reopening the cut almost instantly into the third round and unfortunately for Lennon four minutes later into the third round the ref paused to check the cut and the ringside doctor said it was too bad to continue, therefor Drew was the winner by TKO. Gordon Idle (#4) vs Gregory O'hara (#5): On to the final three fights on the card was a battle between thirty-year-old 'Rock steady' Gordon Idle vs Gregory 'The Chief' O'Hara. Two lightweight brawlers. O'Hara was the favourite going into this fight. The fight started off with the two of them both hitting strikes and jabs against each other. O'Hara hit a shot to the body before Idle countered with a wicked uppercut knocking The chief down. Quickly pouncing on top of him hitting shot after powerful shot. When the referee jumped in and stopped the fight. Gordon Idle wins the fight by TKO. Inflicting O'Hara's first loss of his career with his record now being 10-1. Rock Steady is expected to move up the card now. Jayden Karp (#8) vs Steven Griffin (#4): The co-main event of this show put twenty-five-year-old Karp against 'The Baby-Faced Assassin' Steven Griffin. There wasn't much to this fight really to talk about as Jayden Karp very easily and quickly disposed of Griffin in one minute and twenty-six seconds into the first round. He easily wrestled him up against the cage before taking him down and locking an Americana in almost instantly, Forcing Griffin to tap out. Karp said after the fight "That didn't take long" and when he was asked who to fight next he said "I want Lain Fussel, he better get ready" Rob Baines (#1) vs Henning Olsen (#2): Main event time as veteran Rob Baines was set to defend his title against 'The Terminator' Olsen. And the challenger came out strong in this fight hitting heavy against the champ. Baines struggled to defend for a few seconds before he threw a few punches back at Olsen, the shots did not phase him whatsoever though. However eventually Baines managed to take down Olsen they struggled on the ground for approximately thirty seconds before Baines managed to lock in a leglock. Forcing Olsen to tap out in three minutes and fifty-three seconds. Making defence number two of his Middleweight championship.
  4. BCF Signing Spree. We have breaking news coming in from British Cage Fighting. As they announce the signing of seven of SIGMA's stars in their attempt to bolster all of their weight classes. With plans of expansion into Europe rumoured to be happening soon, it seems the first part of this major plan has started with four of SIGMA's champions jumping ship to the BCF as well as three up-and-coming stars in the world of MMA. Jacco Landeweerd 9-0: The first signing is the twenty-six-year-old 'Big Trouble' Jacco Landeweerd from Eindhoven in the Netherlands. He joins the company's heavyweight division. A rising star in the world of MMA who has picked up a surprising 9-0 record since turning pro. Expected to be the underdog in all of his previous fights he unexpectedly won his only four fights in SIGMA all by KO or TKO. With the step up to higher level competition can the young star keep the streak going? Dag Kreuger 9-0: Second signing is the twenty-four-year-old Dag 'The Viking' Kreuger. The accomplished wrestler, coming from Malmo in Sweden, comes to BCF to join the light heavyweight division. And whilst he is inexperienced compared to the rest of the division he has the potential to become a major star in the world of MMA. Winning his last two fights in SIGMA by TKO and Unanimous decision. His ground game is excellent, however, he might need to up his standing game. To be a major issue for the current highest ranked fighters in the division. Luis Basora 23-5: Up next is on half of the Basora Brothers, 'El Diablo' Luis Basora. The #25 pound-for-pound fighter in the world and the sixth-ranked lightweight joins BCF as one of its biggest European stars. The thirty-one-year-old judo specialist joins the company after winning five of his last seven fighters, for of which by a variety of submissions. He signs for Eight fights, five of which are guaranteed for the former SIGMA light-heavyweight champion. Aleksander Ivanov 11-1: 'The Great Bear' signs for BCF. The #21 heavyweight in the world, and former SIGMA heavyweight champion, joins on a eight-fight contract. The Sambo fighter from Moscow looks to become a major player in the heavyweight division already with many thinking he could be next in line to become the BCF Heavyweight title. Winning six out his last seven fights he has all the momentum in the world. Alberto Basora 22-8: The other half of the Basora brothers joins BCF to bolster the companies struggling welterweight division with no real stars, and no real challenges the #6 Welterweight in the world is expected to come in and become a title challenge almost instantly. The 33 year old Judo star's three previous fights have all gone to a decision meaning he might lack the finishing capabilities, however he is still expected to be a big part of the company's European expansion. Valentin Teneyev 11-0: 'The Hand Grenade' is the sixth person to sign from SIGMMA the #18 light heavyweight in the world is coming in to face higher quality opposition as he waits for the biggest fight of his career against SIGMA superstar Niko Soldo that he has been waiting his entire career for. The Mixed Martial Artist joins after tapping out two of his previous three opponents and is expected to challenge for the Light Heavyweight title soon. Assuming no-one else gets there first. Niko Soldo 19-2-1: 'The Gladiator' and #10 pound for pound fighter and #2 Light Heavyweight in the world joins BCF on a substantial deal. The Croatian Kickboxer joins after knocking out seven of his last eight opponents and with all the momentum he could possibly need. He is expected to Debut at one of BCF's European shows in the near future. Although the thirty-three-year-old is getting near the tail end of his career in MMA now he is still a major threat to anyone in the division.
  5. January 1st 2001 New CEO for BCF British Cage Fighting has recently announced the signing of new Ceo Rory Corbett. Known mainly for his amateur boxing events, many eyebrows were raised with the announcement, many asking if Corbett is the man to take this beloved company as it begins its next steps in the MMA world. BCF is currently in the middle of a rebuilding stage as most of the company's biggest stars were recently signed by MMA powerhouses Alpha-1 and GAMMA. Clearly the third-highest MMA company in the world right now, will BCF be able to rebuild or will they slowly move down in the MMA world? It's not all doom and gloom though for the British company. As they still have a few of their stars on big contracts that could see them through the next two years if they are lucky. The biggest two stars in the company are heavyweight champion Carter Potter and the number two heavyweight in the company Stafford Alois respectively. The latter, unfortunately, starting to age now, with many believing that he only has a few more fights before he inevitably retires. Their other champions however have plenty of time on their side. Middleweight champion Rob Baines being arguably one of the best middleweights in the world too definitely helps, a former submission winner of the year who is currently 7-2 in the BCF. Other champions are light heavyweight champion Lenny McFadden, welterweight champion David Webb and lightweight champion Doug Hansen. The British company is looking to build a new, showing off some of the best young fighters in Britain and Europe. Starting with number two light heavyweight Tikhon "The Tank" Diev from Russia who is currently 11-0 in BCF and is likely to be a future champion. Also, twenty-two-year-old Fabian Schar from Switzerland with an amazing 10-0 record in MMA making him the number four light heavyweight in the division. And lastly, the debuting Morgan "The Maori" Wakarewarewa who is 5-0 before signing with the company, The 6'6" behemoth is expected to make his debut on the next show. Will Rory Corbett be able to build this company further and carry it into the future? Or will the company fail? Only time will tell, although for now, we wish him the best of luck.
