  1. Am I right in thinking there seems to be a hard rule that anyone who is unemployed and >=65 will not sign a contract because they want to 'retire in peace'?

This doesn't make sense to me, as it is not the case in the real world (example: almost any legend/manager in AEW).

I think if someone wants to stay retired, then that is a strong signal that they have 'left the business', in which case, there is already a status for that

  3. BREAKING NEWS

ROH caught off guard by latest Apex additions!

Apex Championship Wrestling today announced their final two additions to the initial roster. Long considered lifers at Ring of Honor, Jay and Mark Briscoe shocked the wrestling world by today announcing they had signed exclusive contracts with Apex. The Briscoe's are record setting 11-time ROH tag team champions, and have been focal points of the company since its opening show in 2002. Their acquisition by Apex will no doubt be a considerable blow to Ring of Honor. To many, Ring of Honor has fallen a long way from it's glory days, and the loss of the Briscoes will further add to the wounds already created a year back by the creation of All Elite Wrestling, which saw a number of top stars pack their bags.

    5tPWQkI.jpgZXnj95E.jpg

With the initial roster announced, all eyes will turn to the opening edition of ACW Shockwave and the kick off of the ACW Heavyweight Championship World Cup. Apex GM Kurt Angle confirmed that a full card would be unveiled for the inaugural show in due course

  4. BREAKING NEWS

ACW score with return of another top calibre tag team!

In the penultimate tag team unveiling, Apex Championship Wrestling released a statement confirming the exclusive signings of Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin to an already diverse tag team division. The Motor City Machine Guns, much like the recently signed American Wolves, will be competing together for the first time in more than two years when they debut for Apex!

    VvSYjCs.jpgbl9rRIp.jpg

With just one more tag team to be announced before the debut edition of ACW Shockwave, the online wrestling community has been clamouring to find out who the last two men will be. Stay tuned to find out!

  5. BREAKING NEWS

Richards returns to wrestling to prove a point with Edwards

ACW today made a stunning announcement that not only was Davey Richards making a return to wrestling with Apex, but that he would be in very familiar company, competing in the tag team division alongside Eddie Edwards! Davey Richards stepped away from the industry in 2018, but is now reforming the American Wolves, claiming that they will once again prove they are the best team in the world.

    0XbWUF7.jpgyq4MLEE.jpg

Angle was keen to announce that the ACW tag division would carry no dead weight, and assured the gathered press that the remaining 2 tag teams to be announced would be of the highest calibre. Only time will tell who those competitors will be, but if they are of the calibre of the American Wolves, ACW will put itself in a very strong position when it comes to tag team wrestling!

  6. <p></p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong><span style="font-size:24px;">BREAKING NEWS</span></strong></p><p> </p><p>

The tag team division continues to take shape in Apex Championship Wrestling, as two more tandems were announced on social media today. Carly Colon (formerly Carlito in WWE) took to twitter to tell the world that he wouldn't be alone, and made the prediction that 'la Familia' would hold all the gold in ACW. Carly then introduced his brother Eddie and cousin Orlando (formerly Primo and Epico respectively), who made it clear that they would stop at nothing until they got the respect they deserved.</p><p> </p><p>

In a surprise move, Apex Championship Wrestling have taken the no-so-SAWFT decision to sign a tag team that has been largely black-listed by the wrestling community. Now going by new ring names, Angel Huge and Danny Acid promise to bring the same trash talking, hard hitting style, as they compete under the tag name of Crime and Punishment. The duo shared the announcement on social media, claiming they would be making the most of their last shot in the industry.</p><p> </p><p>

ACW Tag Team Championships and more!

Kurt Angle today unveiled the brand new ACW World Tag Team Championship titles

    b665ZgA.jpg

Angle also made an announcement that the inaugral champions would be crowned at ACW's as yet unannounced first Pay-Per-View in a match featuring 6 teams with an as-yet undecided stipulation.

The news didn't stop there, as Kurt Angle would go on to announce the first tag team officially signed to Apex Championship Wrestling.

Angle had the following to say:

I'm really excited to make this following announcement. I would like to personally welcome ACW's first officially signed tag team. They will be called K2, and if they reach their potential, I think they could change the landscape and the legitimacy of tag team wrestling for the entire industry. Please welcome Kyle Dake and Kyle Snyder.

    ZZwBZli.jpg88ClZ14.jpg

For those unaware, Dake and Snyder may be new to the world of professional wrestling, but bring with them some serious amateur wrestling pedigree.

Kyle Dake is a 2-time World Champion, and record equalling 4-time NCAA Division I champion. He also holds the distinction of being the only man in history to win his 4 NCAA titles in 4 different weight classes.

Kyle Snyder is a 3-time NCAA Division I champion, 2-time World Champion, and a 2016 Olympic Gold Medallist. He holds the distinction of being the youngest man ever to win Olympic Gold, NCAA, and World championships in the same year.

  8. I've noticed some inaccuracies with UK broadcasters:

    ITV Box Office closed down

Setanta sports is not shown in the UK. I think it is still shown in Ireland.

    FreeSports should be Terrestrial Commercial

Youtube (Europe) is currently configured as terrestrial, and should obviously be internet

The following channels are not available on Terrestrial TV, so I would suggest moving to Cable:

    Sky Sports Action (Subscription)

    Sky Sports Arena (Subscription)

    Sky Sports Main Event (Subscription)

    BT Sport (Subscription)

    The Fight Network (Commercial)

Any chance of adding some additional UK based broadcasters (I can give further information on an indicative size of each if you are not UK based)?

    BBC One (Terrestrial Free-To-Air)

    BBC Two (Terrestrial Free-To-Air)

    BBC Three (Internet Free-To-Air)

    Channel 4 (Terrestrial Commercial)

    Dave (Terrestrial Commercial)

    Quest (Terrestrial Commercial)

    Premier Sports (Terrestrial Subscription)

    Other notes/suggestions:

Amazon Prime Video would be a great addition, as they have been expanding their sports offerings in recent years

Eleven Sports is an Internet Subscription service, available in a large number of countries

  13. BREAKING NEWS

The wrestling world has been abuzz with the recent announcement of Apex Championship Wrestling, a new company funded by an anonymous consortium.

At a scheduled press event, after a quick announcement that the company would begin operating in Mid-July, the reporters in attendance were given quite the surprise, when 1996 Olympic Gold Medallist, and wrestling legend Kurt Angle was unveiled as the new General Manager. Angle confirmed the position of GM was his official title and that he would be overseeing behind the scenes day-to-day operations, but did tease that he might also appear in his GM capacity on-screen.

    wZmDQ7K.jpg

Angle talked briefly about his desire to drive ACW into the conversation of the best wrestling companies in the world, and was quick to bring out the companies announce team. Angle stated that he felt ACW would have "the best team in the business, with unparalleled knowledge, passion and experience". The team was comprised of Daniel Cormier, Mike Tenay and Raven, with initial reactions being overwhelmingly positive.

    paWebxO.jpg5aKBu66.jpgx5AjlGP.jpg

The last major announcement of the conference was the unveiling of ACW's weekly show via a graphic on screen:

    iO5U9iA.jpg

Angle wrapped up, saying that over the coming weeks, there would be more announcements, including the roster, and teased an interesting development around crowning the first ever ACW Champion.

  14. As the wrestling business took an upturn in 2019 with the creation - and success - of All Elite Wrestling, and it's positioning on TNT, interest in the industry was at it's highest for the past two decades. No longer did WWE hold a monopoly on prime time televised wrestling in the US, and following on from the unfortunate events of "Black Wednesday", there was suddenly a wealth of talent available to improve the quality and name value of other companies, battling for exposure.

Whilst many speculated that the likes of AEW, Impact and New Japan would take on the bulk of the talent, few anticipated the creation of a new company, looking to springboard its way into the spotlight. This is the story of that eventuality; the birth of Apex Championship Wrestling!

  15. <p>This mod is great, I really enjoy the fact that it is trimmed down compared to some of the other real world mods, and I don't have to wait ages to progress a day.</p><p> </p><p>

That said, I've noticed what I would consider to be some fairly big names missing. Admittedly, none of them are overly active in big companies these days, but their absence does detract a little from the mod for me.</p><p> </p><p>

Carlito <-- this one in particular, as I was really keen to get a Colon faction going</p><p>

Chris Masters/Mordetzky/Adonis - I would never rule him out from appearing at a known company in the future. Hell, I could easily see him as a surprie Royal Rumble entrant in the next few years</p><p>

Paul London - wikipedia suggests he works as a producer for Impact wrestling, and I've not heard that he has retired, so it's not beyond the realms of possibility that they could use him in the same way as Glenn Gilberti at some point</p><p>

Mark Jindrak - admittedly, he hasn't wrestled in 2 years, but I can see that changing in the near future after featuring in the Ruthless Aggression series on the WWE Network</p><p> </p><p>

There will obviously be more, and I do understand why a lot would be left out - it's a big part of what makes this mod so good, but I was wondering if there was any chance of including any extra guys? If not, no worries - I'll just create them myself after the next release <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p>

  16. You can actually already do this in the game. For example, lets say you want to feud Omega, Matt, and Nick against Jericho, Guevara, and Hager. Setting Matt to be aligned with Nick, and Omega to be aligned with Matt will in fact align all three of them together (check the info box on the right after aligning the workers), Then just do the same for the other trio, and all of them can be Major participants in the storyline.

Yep, thanks for this. I knew it was possible in TEW16. I've just found what I was doing wrong. If you align character A to character B using the 'Switch Alignment To', and then align character A to character C with the same tool, the A:B alignment is removed.

A:B and then B:C sees them all aligned with each other. Very strange. Do you think I should raise this as a bug? Or just accept it as a little quirk

  17. I've got a couple of things that are slightly frustrating during general gameplay:

1: I don't know if this is a bug or an intended feature: when creating a storyline, characters with a major role can only be aligned with one other person with a major role. I understand in principle that this would be to allow a tag team fued, but it's a little restrictive in my opinion. I was trying to set up a feud with 1 guy against a stable of 3 (where all in the stable were equals), but had to set this up as one major and 2 supporting. Obviously, this does still allow me to progress this particular storyline, but what if I want to feud 2 trios against each other?

2: I think there should be a slight tweak when cancelling TV deals with certain types of provider. I'm using the real world 'Killing the Business' mod, and AEW have youtube (free-to-air internet site) deals for their B show. Surely in real life, cancelling these would not incur any financial cost from Youtube to AEW, yet in the game I am being asked to fork out $9 million to end the deal. Hand in hand with this, I would think that - if Youtube is an accurate representation of a 'free-to-air internet site' - it would not have a fixed contract length, or any stipulations around time slots?
