Given that Zuffa is conquering the world, one promotion at a time, I think it's only fitting to add brand support to the game. It wouldn't have to work exactly like WWE, because Raw and Smackdown are still under the WWE banner, while Pride and WEC, while owned by Zuffa, will actually be run as their own entities. It would be extremely interesting to be able to buy out smaller promotions and either run them yourself or hire management to take care of them for you, while also still having the ability to run "supercards" every so often (like the UFC/PRIDE "Super Bowl of MMA" that's being talked about by Dana White). The landscape of MMA changed today, with UFC buying PRIDE and Heroes teaming up with EXC, Bodog, Cage Rage and tons of other promotions. It would be great to be able to simulate this landscape right off the bat.

Brands are huge in MMA if you look at smaller orgs running shows under different names........also Pride used to have the BUSHIDO Series and that was run like a seperate brand
WAIT..... UFC BOUGHT!!!! Pride?
I'm assuming you have been living under a rock in the middle of nowhere. :-) All kidding aside, the deal has been rumored for months and was finally announced today. Zuffa (parent company of UFC) purchased Pride Fighting and have started a new company called Pride Fighting Worldwide to manage it. The April PRIDE show will be the final one under Dream Stage Entertainment. Dana White said in a post-press conference telephone call that they were planning on running the companies entirely separate, but with unified rules, and they will do a UFC vs. PRIDE show once a year as a Super Bowl of MMA type deal, which is what gave me the idea for doing the brands in WMMA.

At least i will like to go and buy out other promotions and keep them running, either as a separate "brand" or promotion with totally different management and even maybe rules. I hope it will be possible to keep the promotions you bought out and possibly have them running as totally different promotion as if nothing happened. The only difference you decide on who runs them, you can raid their roster and posibly take out some of the profits if needed, change the rules or style, but you can totally not get involved in the booking or running of the promotion.

I'll be a 60/40 or 70/30 kind of thing depending on the match ups. Also, the new PRIDE President is from a television station, correct? Forgot the name already.

I don't know if Brands is the right term. I would go with parent companies, Zuffa is the parent company of the UFC, WEC and now PRIDE FC. I think in this game Adam wants you to take the role of a Dana White. In reality you should not be able to control the brands they should be your competitors within the organization. I think something cool would be to have your Parent company say they want you to send a fighter to the competitors show. You could have for instance Zuffa say they want you send a fighter to PRIDE show to face Emelianko Fedor. Do you risk sending Couture and possibly having your champion look weak. Or do you send Frank Mir,if he wins Mir gets a huge boost. If he loses, eh he lost to Fedor. To counter you just sending a weak fighter every time, the Parent company would either give you a list of fighters or punishing you for not sending a good enough fighter by taking away some money.

I don't think it would happen that way...I think they'd decide together between the Fertitta's and Dana who will fight whom from each organization. So there wouldn't be any punishment persay I think a way this could be implemented is in the sense if you tried to send a fighter who didn't want to go for whatever reason (maybe he wants more money to fight) then you could punish him or his morale could drop or something along those lines.
