Guest DirkGildun Posted March 28, 2007 Posted March 28, 2007 how BBCF continues to run for a little while on your PC after you exit out of it? The other day when I was getting out of BBCF and did a save on exit, I happened to do a Cntl-Alt-Delete when I got back to the desktop. I was surprised to see that bb2005.exe (name correct?) still showing in the Processes list and still using a significant amount of memory. I bet it stayed there for another 30 seconds, with the memory amount steadily dwindling, until it disappeared from the list. I wonder if this is what causes people to get the error message that "another version of BBCF is running" if they end BBCF and then re-start it right away. By the way, I run BBCF on a 2.0 GHz PC using Windows XP, so it isn't running on a slow machine.
Arlie Rahn Posted March 29, 2007 Posted March 29, 2007 That can happen with certain saves. In order to prevent memory leaks, I do a full release of each object after the game "shuts down". This improves the stability of windows after you exit.
