Lita Maivia Posted April 2, 2007 Posted April 2, 2007 Hey guys. I'm having a bit of a problem. I'm heading towards Survivor Series 2007 in my WWE game. My main event is an Elimination Chamber Match with the Rock defending the WWE Championship against Batista, Triple H, Shawn Michaels, Randy Orton and Chris Masters. However, Chris Masters was just injured and will be out for five months. Who would you all suggest as the best replacement option? Below is the rest of the card, just so you guys know who is already tied up. World Heavyweight Championship Johnny Stamboli(c) vs. Brock Lesnar ECW World Championship Samoa Joe(c) vs. Kurt Angle WWE Women's Championship Trish Stratus(c) vs. Lita WWE Cruiserweight Championship Jamie Noble(c) vs. Chavo Guerrero vs. Daivari Classic Survivor Series Elimination Match John Cena, Carlito, Rey Mysterio, Matt Hardy & Rob Van Dam vs. Kane, Johnny Nitro, Edge, Christian & Umaga Classic Survivor Series Elimination Match Mr. Kennedy, Big Show, Goldberg, Lance Storm & Justin Credible vs. Chris Benoit, Maven, Bobby Lashley, Shelton Benjamin & Charlie Haas The Undertaker is currently in the middle of a gimmick change and will not be ready to debut until the show after Survivor Series. Other than him, the only main-event level workers not booked at the PPV are Finlay and Ric Flair. So I guess the question is, should I use Finlay or Flair, or should I pull someone from another match to put into the main-event?
TheEdgeOfReason Posted April 2, 2007 Posted April 2, 2007 I'd put RVD in the EC and put finley in the tag match
Lita Maivia Posted April 2, 2007 Author Posted April 2, 2007 The only problem there is that RVD is in the face side of the tag match and Finlay is a heel in my game (as is Flair).
Gameseeker Posted April 2, 2007 Posted April 2, 2007 I would put in Finlay, he is a good wrestler. So he will do fine
Sensai of Mattitude Posted April 2, 2007 Posted April 2, 2007 How about pulling Kane from the same match and putting Flair or Finlay in his place? If not, go with Finlay... The thought of him in an Elimination Chamber sounds alot more interesting than Ric Flair, to be honest.
Lita Maivia Posted April 2, 2007 Author Posted April 2, 2007 I like the idea of throwing Finlay in there. That seems like the most logical choice and gives him something to do. Thanks for your help, guys. I'm gonna go ahead and get started on working him into all the storylines going on in that match.
Wildcat Posted April 3, 2007 Posted April 3, 2007 From what I can see there's no reason to have BOTH Kane and Umaga in that Survivor Series match as noone on the other team is bigger than a heavyweight and one of the two is enough as two is too uneven. I'd take one of them out of that match and move them to the Chamber and than move Finley into their spot.
Carlzilla Posted April 3, 2007 Posted April 3, 2007 I agree with Wildcat. I think finaly deserves a shot, because he's good talent, but not as a replacement for an injured dude. I'd have Kane take the spot.
keefmoon Posted April 3, 2007 Posted April 3, 2007 You could alwyas do what the E did at Survivor Series 99. When Austin was too banged up they wrote him out and replaced him suprisingly with Big Show, who had already wrestled a match that night. Just an idea, but that way you don't have to ruin any other matches and put in anyone you want. And I'm sorry, but I have to ask- Johnny Stamboli as WWE Champ? Granted, I think he's underrated, but there's limits! :p I'd be interested to see how you've booked him, what gimmicks he's used etc.
Mtm2k6 Posted April 3, 2007 Posted April 3, 2007 I was just thinking that :p Johnny Stamboli must be good!
hrdcoresidebrns Posted April 3, 2007 Posted April 3, 2007 I'd say Finlay if you want a high match quality, or Flair if you want more heat going into it. Unless, for some reason, you've run so Finlay is more over than Flair.
Lita Maivia Posted April 4, 2007 Author Posted April 4, 2007 Lol. Yes, Johnny Stamboli is my World Champion. It took me over a year to build him up, though. He had a four-month feud with Maven when I resigned him to WWE (while pretty much bulldozing through my undercard) and then moved him into a very short feud with Rey Mysterio where Stamboli picked up the United States Championship. With that belt, he feuded with Chris Benoit that ended up going for quite a while (I think that one went to five or six months) since they had such great chemistry together. From there he just had regular title defenses with no real feud until I built up to a new PPV match between Rey and Stamboli for the US title, where Rey took the belt back. After losing the belt and building his credibility back up, he went into a feud with Batista, who he took the World Championship from. He's defended it against Undertaker, Bobby Lashley, Kurt Angle and now Brock Lesnar (Survivor Series will be their second encounter). I did pair him up with Torrie Wilson (who's Looks gave her good Entertainment and she already had pretty good Overness). She was the focus of the Maven/Stamboli feud that ended with Torrie turning heel on Maven and joining Stamboli. She assisted Stamboli to some pretty big victories to help raise him up the card. He came with a Full Blooded Italian gimmick (I believe is what its called). From there I changed him to the Bulldog gimmick. The one that says the worker can be both selfish and selfless. That ended up being a very good gimmick for him as he's still using it to this day at an A* rating. But sometimes I get notes that they need freshened up while the gimmick rating is still A* so we'll see what happens. So yeah, a lot of hard work went into me making Stamboli main-event in the game. I went with the two classic heel builds by having him debut and bulldoze through lower level workers and then once he got main-event, I used the old trick of having him sneak past almost all his challengers with tainted victories.
