PoisonedSuperman Posted April 3, 2007 Posted April 3, 2007 I know the game will probably like TEW and keep the records of every match the guy has fought in game but I want to see guys win/loss records before the game starts. Not asking who they fought or anything but if they are 60 and 0 thats nice to know that you could have a legend come if a guys 1 and 5 its nice to see that he's a loser.
SpaceMountain Posted April 3, 2007 Posted April 3, 2007 If that's possible, that would be great. What would be even GREATER, is actually having their detailed fight history. :p (If that's possible, of course.)
Adam Ryland Posted April 3, 2007 Posted April 3, 2007 You'll be glad to know that the game offers both options. You can fill in a fighter's pre-game Win\Loss\Draw record directly, and you can also fill in matches that have happened prior to the game starting too.
Capelli King Posted April 3, 2007 Posted April 3, 2007 One question. will be need to manually fill in W\L records after the game has started or wil it be done automatically?
AlaskanHero Posted April 3, 2007 Posted April 3, 2007 I would assume it's like the title histories from TEW.
Adam Ryland Posted April 3, 2007 Posted April 3, 2007 It's not automatic. The reason being that if it the WLD record was calculated from the fight histories provided, you'd need to fill in every professional fight for every fighter that you had in the database, and that's a lot of work. As the major places for fighter biographies (i.e. Sherdog and Wikipedia) give both WLD and full histories, I thought it was much more sensible to allow you to give both separately. Of course, once the game starts, the WLD is automatically updated every time a new fight happens.

Thanks Adam!
Capelli King Posted April 3, 2007 Posted April 3, 2007 I think it is a very needed feature. I could not imagine a MMA game with no W\L feature. As stated in one of the posts, quite popular was the feature of having a "world ranking". Something like TEW04 had. That would be one feature i would like in MMA. One feature i would like (since we are talking about records). Is a place where we could have the histories of all fighters. Most of the best sports simulators have this. It can be seperated in Most Overal wins, most total fights, most losses, highest earners ect. I think in sports simulators the stats and numbers are very important, any thoughts anyone?
javier_83 Posted April 10, 2007 Posted April 10, 2007 the history, as the title history, and all the stats of his fights are very important
creepshow Posted April 12, 2007 Posted April 12, 2007 I'd like to make a suggestion, and I sincerely apologize if it's already been made.... as far as "free agents" are concerned, I think records (WLD) are crucial in who to bring in... say for example, I wanted to start a MMA organisation whose whole goal is to give people a second shot. Basically pick up guys with crappy records, or poor luck, and find your diamonds in the rough. You know, finding the best of the worst, or what have you... Basically, my theory was that there could be a scouting page, that was kind of designed like a spreadsheet. You can sort W-L-D, Age, Current Promotion, etc etc, without having to use filters. Finding and keeping up with fighters could prove to be a LOT easier that way.

In ficat i like that idea, saves on the extra clicking, makes the game run quicker and smoother. After all the stats we are looking for are pretty much well known.
