The Good: The second Cenas music hit, I knew something was gunna go down. The fans were on him from the start and when HBK's music hit, I had a mark out moment and was hoping for a re-match tonight. That was unfortunately not the case. However, we did get an interesting match up instead. And I was actually taken by surprise when HBK turned on Cena mid-match. I mean, I was sensing a slow heel turn, but he just pulled a sharp one right their. And I'm just wondering why they couldnt just turn him heel like that BEFORE Mania, it sure would have made much more sense. Also, it was also nice to Know Cryme Tyme still exists and that none of them had died... I'm also finding myself liking Melina more and more and more as of late. And this goes beyond her cleavage... ....Really. At first, I found her to be a simple parody of J-Lo minus the huge ass, but now, I really like her. Shes fantastic on the mic for a diva, and its a shame Trish Stratus retired before Melina became a full time wrestler because THAT would have been quite the feud. But god knows I love Mickie James and I've had a crush on her since people thought her real name was Alexis Laree. Lets hope they do well together. (curses Kenny Dykstras name) I also like how Matt and Jeff were given the tag belts one last time. In fact, I'm just not a fan of having two singles wrestlers holding a tag team championship. And Matt and Jeff bring interest wherever they go.... so maybe now the Tag Division will get some much needed respect.... (And a Cryme Tyme heel turn perhaps?) The Bad: Was I the only one hoping that someone had slashed Khali's tires so he couldnt make it? I have now grown tired of this man. And for dismantling Kane on an event in which he has had much history on is just a slap in the face of Kane. I now just want him to go away. (In the X-Pac sort of way) And I felt Vince was again, dry in his promo tonight. Vince is often touted as one of the great heel talkers in wrestling, but lately he's been dreadfull!! The angle ended on a high note, but Vince has really gotten rusty. And it just wasted time from what could have been an actual match. Overall: A good show and a decent encore from WrestleMania. It started out extremely well and on its way to a four star rating, but in the end.... it just could have been better. Overall: *** Biggest Pop: 1. Cena 2. HBK 3. Lashley Biggest Heat: 1. Cena 2. Vince 3. Umaga My Two Cents: * Didn't you just want HBK to knock the hell out of Cena-The-Invincible when they stood in that ring...? * Why was Jeff selling the WM injuries, yet Matt wasn't? * ....THEY WERE IN THE SAME MATCH!!! * I seriously doubt any "smarks" can complain now about unused workers on the roster since they pretty much threw half the roster in the first two matches... *But now they'll complain about their losses.... Can Vince ever win? * Kudos on J.R for botching that call at the end for the Hardyz. Really, It couldnt have been done better if Sid Vicious was on the mic. *Wasn't it odd that Eugene the lost Highlander was in fact, laughing at VINCE for his loss of hair? * Has Lashley forgotten that ECW is only on once a week? * ...and did he step out of the shower before comming out fpr the first time? * ...but wherever he came from, a gold star for ripping off Lillians skirt. * And a gold star for Vince for hiding up their... * Boy, hasn't Melina improved greatly on the mic? * She atleast sounded better than JR tonight. Make sure you leave your own feedback of tonights show.
* If you didnt get up and boo Cena when he came out... please kill yourself. * Didn't you just want HBK to knock the hell out of Cena-The-Invincible when they stood in that ring...? * And if you didn't.... please kill yourself. How about you kill yourself instead? That way I won't have to listen to your insipid marking over "Pimple on the Ass of Wrestling" Shawn Michaels. Honestly, in the past he's faked injuries to avoid jobbing titles, he's buried tons of wrestlers over his career and who can forget his role in the Montreal Screwjob? His time in the sun has come and gone but he still refuses to put over the younger generation and the one time he does, people whine like jackals. I'm quite honestly sick of hearing it. The guy lost, as he should have, GET OVER IT!
Its not a fact of me wanting HBK to win perse, Im just completely sick and tired of Cena-The-Invincible holding onto that strap for as long as the Iraqi War. I mean, the day he won the title, Mike Awsome, Richard Jenni, Bam Bam Bigelow and Anna Nicole Smith were all alive. The Republicans held a majority in congress. Saddam Hussein was alive. Bittney Spears still had hair but seemingly everything else in the world has changed, yet Cena remains the champ. HBK being champ once more would have been nice, but its just a fact of a face who isnt booed half the time holding the most important title in the industry. Cena has been crammed down our throats since he found that dumb "Word Life" gimmick, and although I've remained neutral throught this time (read my other "what do you thinks") , fact is.... he shouldnt be champ right now.

Fact is WWE is about making money and feeding Vince's ego. Cena sells merch. Cena has the look. Cena can talk. Therefore, Cena is champ. They don't "do" wrestling in WWE anymore. At least not their champions.

Yeah well if Cena shouldn't be champ because is *GASP* a few years old, how does this make the guy who's had the same bloody gimmick since the freakin 90's a better choice? He's a guy in his 50's pretending to be a teenage delinquent for crying out loud. How pathetic is that? I'd rather have Cena as champion getting mixed pops then the old man show that is Shawn Michaels.

HBK is using the same bloody gimmick since the 90's because the same gimmick has worked since the 90's. It may be harder to beleive that he and HHH are sophmoric rebels, but what about Hollywood Hogan, Kevin Nash and Scott Hall for crying out loud? They did the same thing and were older than what HBK is now when they did it. The fact is.... it works. And it doesnt produce mixed responses because he raps or whatever.

personally I would have put HBK over Cena just to get the title off of him. I find Cena very annoying with his gimmick that sure have been killed off long ago. I don't care that women and 5 year old brats find him to be cool, if I met Cena on the street doing his white rapper/marine/chain gang, what ever the hell he is doing now gimick I would laugh in his face and keep walking.

Puh-lease. Michael's gimmich has been stale since he came back. He's practically a grandfather and he's dancing around like he's a hip teenager. It's laughable. If anything, Michaels is the one who should've changed gimmicks. But I guess you'd rather have the old man holding the belt, putting himself over at the expense of everybody and burying the younger guys at will. Me, I'd rather see new stars made. 'Cause that's what's good for wrestling, not what's good for Shawn Michaels.

Before WM you were a WM mark and now his act is tired? Ridiculous.

And apparently Peter Hilton didnt read that I had grown tired of him as of late... I AM allowed to change my opinion.... right? And to answer Davidsons comment.... no, I dont want HBK to win just because its HBK. I did it because I CHANGED my opinion on John Cena since my last arguments and felt that he has indeed gotten stale and overused. You may feel this way about HBK, but he's done it before.... and much better. Do I think its dumb that he's an older man dancing around in chaps? Yea, but we're in the minority from the looks of things.

The same reasons to keep Cena at the top of the card exist now as existed then: He's the biggest draw in the company. He's the biggest merchandise mover in the company. He's the most over guy in the company. Even if he'd lost at WM, he's have the title back within three months. HBK would've been a transitional champ at best. Typical smark nonsense.

Apparently not. Michaels is still getting pops but he's not getting the huge pops he used to get back in the 90's. In fact, for example, it was reported that at last year's Survivor Series CM Punk was getting louder pops then Michaels was. Also, on this week's show I'd say that the Hardy's pop was as loud as the ones that Michaels was getting. At anyrate, I stand by my earlier statement that it's a bad idea to put the title on an older guy who's remaining career is short. The person who beats Cena should be a young guy who has a long career in front of him and who will gain something by beating Cena.

First off, do not call me a smark. I've hated smarks for years now and you do not know me enough to mark me as one. I dont constantly rag on Vince product and masturbate to ROH. Nor do I think HHH is the devil. But just for having a different opinion... Im a smark? I made my comments about Cena TURNING!! I dont think Cena should turn because he is the biggest merchendise seller and he does draw people. But even in Austins heyday, he was not the champion the entire time. And if Austin WERE the champ for the entrie 5 or so years he were number 1, people would have gotten bored of seeing the "amazing Stone Cold overcomming all odds" Their is a diffrence between being the underdog and overcomming all odds in the end... and just seeming invincible. And right now, Cena seems invincible and it bores the hell out of me. it does not make me a smark either.

Jesus, for a board based partly on a booking simulator, I'm surprised how often people look at stuff like this on sheer emotion. WELL I DONT LIKE HIM HE SHOULD LOOOSE! A smart company builds a star, then uses that guy to build more stars. It's how you generate business over the longterm. When the E was hottest during the Attitude Era it was because they used HBK to put over Stone Cold who put over The Rock who put over Triple H, etc. As successful as Cena is been if he's put in a long term program with someone and they go over clean it's going to make whoever that is into a draw fo years. A transitional reign by HBK does nothing.

He ran through Angle and Jericho like a hot knife through butter. You're saying you're tired of it now??...when three weeks before you thought it was the best act on the planet?? It's a silly argument. Outside of your personal opinion, there's no real reason to take the belt off Cena and put it on HBK.

Plus, if you have someone go clean over Cena now, in one match, what does it do to all the workers he has beaten recently? I don't have a problem with you Afro, but PLEASE stop acting like you are the authority on the WWE.

Sorry. I'm giving you a hard time. But you are the one posting a regular "column" on the boards; you even referred to other members of the board as "my readers." Consider it constructive criticism. You gave your opinion as fact, and contradicted yourself from your own column two weeks ago/ you're obviously a knowledgeable fan with adecent sense of humor. You can do better than that.
So have you been an ass since the 80's.
Like, the 90s, actually. Still doesn't change the fact that this:
Fact is WWE is about making money and feeding Vince's ego. The WWF/E, hell, the entire wrestling industry, is based on the idea of generating revenue. It's not an artistic endeavor. The idea that wrestling promoters should be putting on 60 minute technical classics and damn the profits is a fantasy.

They're my readers not out of a sense of ownership, but because they read my threads and respond. And it keeps me going. So, I went for a shock laugh with the Cena comment. It wasnt funny, thats all. And I just feel my opinion has changed on the Cena sunject, I dont think its contradicting myself. But I take your comments as contructive criticism and just use it to make my threads better. Apology accepted.
