Colt Cabana has been a staple on ROH's roster since December 2002. After a great run it is now time for Cabana to move on with his career. Cabana has signed a contract with World Wrestling Entertainment. His final date with ROH will be the 4/28 event in Chicago, which will now be called "Good Times, Great Memories." Cabana will also be on the 4/13 Long Island, 4/14 Edison and 4/27 St. Paul events (tickets now on sale for all these shows at www.ROHwrestling.com or by calling 215-781-2500). "For the past four and a half years the only consistent thing in my life has been ROH," Cabana said. "ROH has been my home and family. The Chicago show on April 28th is not going to be a farewell, but a celebration. We are going to celebrate how great ROH is and will continue to be. It's not going to be a good bye, its going to be a "Seeya later". Thanks for all the good time, and great memories!" Cabana, a two time ROH Tag Team Champion with CM Punk, has given ROH fans countless great matches and entertaining moments. Cabana has done it all during the course of his ROH career. He has dominated the tag scene, been involved in classic title matches, put on some of the most entertaining bouts in ROH history and when it came time to fight it out Cabana was deadly serious. Cabana's promos have been always been a highlight of ROH DVDs. Cabana's contributions to ROH will be felt forever. Cabana's final ROH opponent will be Adam Pearce. Cabana requested Pearce due to their history in the business together. The issue between Cabana and Pearce started in ROH last weekend in Detroit. Cabana's final ROH run looks like this: -4/13 Long Island: Cabana vs. Delirious -4/14 Edison: Cabana vs. Doug Williams -4/27 St. Paul: Cabana & Homicide vs. Adam Pearce & Brent Albright Anything Goes Match -4/28 Chicago: Cabana vs. Adam Pearce Join us as we say goodbye to a ROH classic. We'll have more on Cabana's history in ROH soon on the main page of ROHwrestling.com.
Ooooooooh oooooooooooh Ohhhhhhhhhhh I bet he'll be a Banker pirate from Mars, that way he will never get over with the crowds...........
Touché, lovestruck. While on the one hand, WWE signing Colt is a good thing (the man's bound to be worth serious bank within the next 12 months, if not already), I'd be lying if I didn't say I'm a bit frightened given the 'E's past missteps with good, quality, talented workers. But good for him!

He'll probably be sent to developmental for a while, but after that, then what? You'd think pair him, Punk, and Steel together (I thought so too at first), but after I thought about it for a while, that might not be the best course of action. I think doing that could actually hurt Punk's rise.
a good signing by the WWE, lets hope they don't mis-use him.
that's HIGHLY unlikely to happen..... he'll be in a chicken costume hanging out with eugene getting jobbed out to chris masters in two minutes. either that or he'll get put in a tag team, pushed for a month, lose a tag title match, then we'll see him get jobbed out about once a month....(see the highlanders, cryme tyme, heartthrobs, cade & murdoch, duece & domino, etc....)

I'd like to see him and Steel debut in WWE together as a tag team. Including Punk in the stable is something that wouldn't easily be done, if you ask me, since he's gotten so over as an individual superstar there would need to be a good reason to have two other guys - who most WWE fans won't even know - just join him. But good for Cabana. I really hope he does as well as CM Punk has been doing, because I really like Cabana.
Punk seems to be doing all right in WWE.
I guess you could say that given the red-hot storyline Punk's involved in now and insane amount of momentum he's built to this point. Oh wait..... Seriously, it's just sour grapes on my part. I see a no-talent hack like The Great Khali being given the relative honor of squashing a good worker and past champion on the grandest stage of them all. Then you see Punk's momentum being suppressed, as it were, by jobbing to the likes of journeyman types like Hardcore Holly and such and being a bit player in the big matches he's been involved in. It's just my 'talent should mean something" instincts whining. I know that isn't necessarily the case with WWE though. It just seems like they're marking time til they figure out how best to use him (which isn't a bad thing, mind you, I'm just impatient :p).

Looks like the WWE are looking to the future - got to replace the talented jobbers like Matt and Jeff Hardy with someone else to make the Great Khali and the like look good.

How is losing one match to hardcore holly jobbing? Punk doesn't have the look for an undefeated streak. His momentum is hardly being supressed. I think it would be cool if the New Breed begging him to join finally got to him, so he brings in his own reinforcements after a week or two of being attacked by the NB after turning them down. Easy way to introduce the other two (Steel & Cabana), while keeping Punk's push going.

It's jobbing to me when you get beaten by the Alabama Slam. Hardcore Holly to me is a never was, never will be. It'd be like being beaten by Hacksaw Jim Duggan on Sci-Fi, people's opinions of you would drop and that'd be what a good job does.

I hate Holly, never liked him, and thought he was useless. One loss though is no big deal (especially if you can still get the cheers Punk does.) Punk could lose all of his matches, and the crowd would love him because he was darling of the indies.

First, with regards to CM Punk, I'd rather he lose a couple of matches here and there than become another "streak". It's like creativity has left te industry altogether with that nonsense. So many people were unbeaten in WWE/TNA I was starting to think how Val Venis could job to them all! Its not like the crowd have given up on him and he's still in his first year anyway. Plenty of people lost matches on their way to the top what makes Punk so different? Because its Holly? You might hate him but its not like Stevie Richards went out there and dominated Punk in a 2 minute "classic". He'll never be a credible champ but I think Holly works just fine as a "speed bump" for rising stars, getting past him puts you up another rung on the ladder (albeit one of the lower ones). Cabana will do just fine if he's paired with another worker who can bring the charisma and I'd rather see a fresh pairing than reuniting the Saints, Punk doesn't need it and its not like the name will give them any real momentum in the 'E. I always thought he would be great paired with Regal (and do so in all my games) pretending to be English, complete with silly accent and all the cliched references to tea and her majesty (a bit like some of the 1PW ads he did on TWC). I think Smackdown should be his destination when the call-up comes, there is a good mix of talent on the mic and in the ring which will match up well with him and he's less likely to be shunted off to the side a la... well, pretty much all of RAW's midcard. I also think the last thing ECW needs is more new faces at the moment as they are struggling not only to get the ones they have on screen but also to give them distinct identities, I'm astonished that Monty Brown has become so vanilla is such a short space of time. If he is wasted then I will be annoyed but I don't think everyone should jump on bandwagons like always. Just once can't we all wait to see where things go? :)

I totally agree with flamebrain here. Punk is a long-term WWE project, being tested by being placed in all kinds of situations, and seeing how he reacts. If he's professional, does the jobs with a smile on his face, and generally doesn't get caught up in his own hype... Then WWE will place more and more emphasis on him. They're not completely stupid, and know money-making potential when they see it. (Maynot always capitalise on it, but...) Holly is one of the longest serving WWE workers, behind (I believe) only Michaels and Undertaker in terms of longevity. He's taken a lot of damage for the E over the years (broken arm and neck, anyone?), and his mini push with ECW gave him the chance to work matches in an environment suited to his skills and style. While I don't want to see him winning World titles, he's an established star with some name value. Having him score victories over the likes of Punk does them no harm, and keeps him relevant. In a way, he's ECW's Kane - no-one think he's World title material, but he's always a credible opponent for whoever today's Next Big Thing. As for Colt Cabana... Well, he's my favourite wrestler, and I hope he makes it in the E. I'd love to see him on SmackDown. I think he'd have classic segments with Kennedy, MVP, Regal, JBL... He's also a fine wrestler, and could do great things in the ring. Given how badly WWE need talent on SD (no more From The Vault, please!) then he seems destined for the blue brand. I can't help but feel that he needs to be the focus of a singles run, though - let the Cabanarana have his time in the spotlight. He's gold. Besides, I want a Colt Classic t-shirt. Guess I'd better get on and get one from roh.com, huh? Now likely that WWE'll be marketing that any time soon...

Cabana could have a good feud with Kennedy, or if they just had to put him on ECW, and they wanted to get him over, turn Punk heel, and let the fun begin.

Personally, I think Cabana should be allowed to do his own thing on ECW or Smackdown. He doesn't really need Punk to be successful. I'd probably put him on Smackdown and push him there with maybe an occasional nod to the net fans by having him and Punk in a backstage segment. Or if everything else failed, I'd bring Cabana in as a heel with the New Breed as the one guy who could match Punk move for move and let them feud for a while. Also I don't see how Punk's talent is being surpressed or anything lke that. He was booked to come within a hair of winning a guaranteed title shot at Wrestlemania in his first year on the roster. Not to mention being in a title match in the main event of a PPV (still within his first year on the roster). Vince likes him, Punk will be just fine.

Plus, we all know it'd be a grand feud. I would much rather see Punk as the heel though. Don't get me wrong, he is great at being a face, but he can get so much heat it's not funny. The guy is great at being a heel. Cabana's better at being a fun babyface.
