AfRoMaN36 Posted April 4, 2007 Posted April 4, 2007 2 simple questions.... 1) Who would you rather base your promotion around and why? (consider things the worker has done in and out of the ring) 2) Who do you think affected the industry to a greater extent?
lovestruck420 Posted April 4, 2007 Posted April 4, 2007 1.) Hogan- Just because of the name value. Hogan is the man when it comes to pro-wrestling now and forever. He may not be the most talented, but he deffinately tok wrestling to a new level, whereas Austin just resparked interest in a crappy age of wrestling....... 2.) Hogan- once again Hogan has the upper hand on this. He took Wrestling from a slow paced sludge format, to the faster paced action we know and love today. He also was the first to really market wrestling in other areas of entertainment, which makes him great PR.
masterded Posted April 4, 2007 Posted April 4, 2007 1) Austin. He was better then Hogan at everything. Which is hard. Hell, very hard to be honest. Also he is the most profitable person ever in wrestling. 2) Hogan. Batista, Bobby, Masters, est. est.. Even the whole 5 moves of doom seem to start from a lack of moves of people like Hogan. Now even if you can do more like Cena can, you never do. (Though in a few rare times Hogan supprised me.)

Hogan is too manipulative a politician to allow outstanding talents to come through and take his place. 2) Hogan. Longer career, massive draw, and he was the rock around Vince McMahon revolutionising the wrestling industry.
Jasx12 Posted April 4, 2007 Posted April 4, 2007 1) Austin. The Attitude Era was the best era in wrestling, hands down. Plus Hogan is just a manipulative turd. 2) Hogan. Look at the name value he has.

Active wrestler, color commentator, referee, authority figure, manager, all of that. Hogan's too much of an attention whoring egomaniac for me to really use as anything but the top person (like he would willingly put someone else over  ).
Capelli King Posted April 4, 2007 Posted April 4, 2007 1) Hogan 2) Hogan I think Austin was a big draw, but i lost interest at the time when he was big. Hogan to me is the biggest name ever. It is hard to think there will ever be such a name in wrestling again.
TCP1 Posted April 4, 2007 Posted April 4, 2007 Very good question: 1) Austin for his pure all-round talent and versatility. 2) I would say they are equal. I can see why most people say Hogan, but at the end of the day they are only saying that because he's been around longer. Hogan took wrestling from the bingo halls to the mainstream. Austin took a stale product and brought it kicking and screaming to its most successful period in history, bar none. So I would say a tie.
