At the height of their popularity, with their former enemy WCW vanquished and purchased, the WWF is riding high. It is undoubtably the most powerful promotion in the history of professional wrestling. But questions are being asked about the WCW sale. The U.S Securities and Exchange Commission begins a month-long investigation. ...April 2001... The wrestling world is in shock. The World Wrestling Federation is hit with a three-hundred million dollar fine, after it was revealed that Vince McMahon and AOL-Time Warner executive Jamie Kellner colluded to intentionally lower the purchase price of WCW. Stockholders and investors deserted the WWF, leaving the McMahon family with a humbled empire almost overnight. Disgraced, distraught and heartbroken, with a roster of wrestlers angry at the McMahon's mismanagement, the WWF was effectively shut down. Live events were cancelled, and television contracts were torn up. The McMahons go into isolation. In the months that follow, promotions across the United States shut down left, right and centre. Without the support of the WWF, OVW, HWA and MCW close shop. After the loss of millions of casual fans, promotions such as JAPW, APW and UPW can't support themselves. Even promotions with a more hardcore following, such as XPW and CZW close down. Some owners say they'll be back when the industry bounces back. Others leave for good. It is now October 2001. The effects of The Fall are still ongoing, but there is cause for optimism. The National Wrestling Alliance, once facing extinction, has re-amalgamated under the leadership of Ric Flair and Dusty Rhodes. WWF loyalists Steve Austin, The Undertaker and Shawn Michaels join the returned Shane McMahon to form Fusion Pro Wrestling. And on the west coast, Eric Bischoff and Hulk Hogan use their connections to form the American Wrestling Federation. This new 'Big Three' is joined by independent federations across the country, and two exciting new touring promotions. In Canada, a rejuvenated Stampede takes the country by storm. The wrestling industry has definitely bounced back from its perilous lows, but for how long? Can you guide your promotion through the wreckage of The Fall? I can walk but I can never wrestle again... I can dream... but I can never truly live again... I started at as the ECWA Wrestling School under the tutelage of Mike Quackenbush for five months... He thought I would b ready for a match and so he booked me in the opening match against the debuting Austin Aries who is a star in the making... Everything went fine until a freak accident happened... I went off the top rope to do a move I had done a billion times in training... I attempted to jump and the rope snapped... Needless to say me hitting my Top Rope Leg Drop would not be happening... I landed on my neck and instantly knew my career was over... I stayed in the hospital for two weeks... Everyday Aries and Kettner came and visited me... Finnaly Kettner came in one day and gave me a piece of paper... I had no clue what he was wanting me to do with it... Instantly in a Field of Dreams/Waynes World moment I heard a voice in my head... "If you write it... it will come!"... I had no clue what this voice was saying to me but night and day I heard it... Finnaly to try and avoid the voice I popped in a tape... The tape was the ECWA 2000 Super 8 Tournament... I started writing down all these crazy ideas everyday... Day after day I was writing shows and I was able to finnaly get the feeling back in my body... I was reborn... Little did I know... One day him and Aries came to visit me while I was writing out a show and Kettner caught me... I felt kind of ashamed but you know what I ran with it. Little did he know destiny was about to happen... An indy wrestler named Jerry Lynn had gotten ahold of Kettner earlier in the day... Lynn had been unemployed for a few months now due to the WWE Fall and all the new companies popping up. Lynn wanted to start something up but he knew it had to be special! Lynn would email Kettner and say that he wanted to come into ECWA and give it a makeover... Kettner saw every other indy promoter in his region go out of business so Kettner agreed to it... He told Lynn one thing though... He can give it a required makeover... But he had someone in mind for booking! I sat there in the Hospital room and Kettner picked up my paper which had a simple title... ECWA Weekly TV Show... Kettner read it over and the rest of my notes and was amazed by them... Sapolsky then told me the biggest shocker of them all.... This made everything make sense... The papers, the numbers, Jerry Lynn, Jim Kettner, ECW, Austin Aries, the ring-rat who I slept with after I had refereed during month one of training... God may have put me into a wheel-chair... but I truly gained my legs when I was able to do what I was born to do.... Gabe told me I was going to be the booker of the new Pro Wrestling Reborn promotion... It would be ECWA... with a modern twist. Sapolsky told me that ECWA is the only indy left to carry on the legacy of good indy wrestling! One day Jim Kettner brought me a Newspaper and all that it said was "Legendary Promotion to return under new name" at the headline of the sports section... July 21st 2001[/CENTER] [I] After taking a hiatus from wrestling in May from running wrestling shows ECWA Owner Jim Kettner took a long look at his career and wondered "Is it worth it anymore?". Kettner had been running ECWA since 1967 and is the most respected independant wrestling promoter in the entire world. After many of his "Competition" (I use that word loosely since Kettner has attempted to befriend all of the promotions in the world) died out Kettner knew something big would have to be done. Big however was actually fate. Jerry Lynn (Former WWF LightHeavyweight Champion) came a knocking on his door and wanted to work with him to help build up the future of wrestling. So did a few other big "names" but unfortunately we will not reveal that until September which will be a month away from the official return of ECWA... or as it is now called. Pro Wrestling Reborn. The first show is going to be in Washington DC at the Kenilworth-Parkside Center. Tickets go on sale in August and I can promise four BIG names on the card! Punk however quickly changed the pace with some Judoesque moves... Danielson went for a Discuss Punch but Punk ducked it and nailed a Superkick then danced around the ring obviously mocking Danielsons trainer. Danielson gets up slowly from it and him and Punk begin to fight again... Punk nails a key move in the match by hitting a Chop Block because when he attacked Bryan earlier he attacked his leg... Punk then locks in a STF... Danielson somehow outpowers him and makes it to the ropes... Danielson and Punk battle for a little while longer but Punk ends up getting the win in a good match with a Double Underhook Backbreaker (Welcome to Chicago ************!)... Nova came out to a good pop and got an ECW chant started... Ki came out and the fans chanted ECWA!!! This was a match to be watched... Nova and Ki started things off with a Kick Contest (That Ki won and even made Nova to bleed from the chest!) Ki and Nova then moved onto chopping each other much to the delight of the fans! Low Ki and Nova were not given enough time to really put the match over because my shows are only allowed to be 1 Hour and Twenty Minutes Total... Just so people dont gripe about the length! Ki and Nova then started to attempt to outwrestle each other! Nova made the first (And last) mistake of the match and went for a Suplex which Ki reversed into a Ki Krusher! Low Ki wins it... After the match Nova refused to shake Ki's hand and left very pissed off! Daniels starts things off with Red fast by whipping him against the ropes... Daniels attempts a huge lariat but Red grabs his arm during it and Backflips while holding onto it and lands on his feet. Red then fires back with a Enziguri that sends Daniels to the ground! Red then points at Aries... Aries tags in and goes after Red.... Aries attempts to whip him but Red hits a not one, not two but three full rotation Head Scissors and the fans explode! Red then hits a Standing Star Press on Aries making quick work of him too! Red points at Joe too thinking he can take him... Joe tags in and the fans are chanting Red... Red charges at Joe for a Hurricanrana but Joe reverses it into a Death Valley Driver that destroys Red... Joe then hits the ropes and hits a Senton Splash on Red! Joe gets up from it and taunts the fans... Joe then grabs Red and nails a Suplex! Joe locks in a Sleeper Hold and Red is down! The Estabilishment works on Red for most of the match until Red tags in to Joel Maximo! Joel like a house of fire takes down everyone! Joel gets Joe into the SAT's Corner and him and Jose attempt the Spanish Fly (Backflip Double Rock Bottom!).... Daniels knows its about to happen so he goes over to the outside of the ring and holds down Joe's feet! The SAT Backflip off the Top Rope but have no Joe! Daniels, Aries and Joe storm the ring... Joe hits the Muscle Buster on Red, Aries the Brianbuster on Joel and Daniels the Angels Wings on Jose Simultanouesly for the 3 Count! Afterwards... Lynn and RVD started things off big! RVD goes for a kick... Lynn catches... RVD goes for a Spinning Kick... Lynn ducks.. RVD goes for a Leg Trip... Lynn jumps up in the air... Lynn goes for an elbow Drop and RVD moves out of the way... They went move for move with each other! RVD makes the mistake of running against the ropes after hitting Lynn with a Snap Suplex... Rey takes advantage of this and Dropkicks RVD out of the ring! Rey then shows off for the fans as Lynn hits a SUICIDE DIVE on RVD! Rey then runs against the ropes and hits a Flipping Dive on both men! Fans start a "Holy ****" chant at this! RVD, Lynn and Mysterio make it back into the ring and start brawling again! Lynn and Mysterio start to battle as RVD lets them... Lynn and Mysterio to my knowledge have never wrestled each other so this had a "Big Match" feel to it! Lynn hits Mysterio with the Cradle Piledriver and goes for the pin! RVD breaks it up thought... RVD picks Lynn up and nails him with a Lyger Bomb! Mysterio makes his way up and nails RVD with a Sunset Flip Bomb *Code Red*... All three men are down!!!! RVD and Lynn make it up first and Lynn sets RVD on the Top Rope! Lynn looks like he is going for a Hurricanrana but Mysterio grabs him and nails a Powerbomb! Mysterio then gives RVD an Enziguri and RVD stays on the Top Rope somewhat knocked out! Mysterio runs across the ring and attempts to pin Lynn but Lynn kicks out! Mysterio sets up Lynn for a Tornado DDT but Lynn reverses into a Northern Lights Suplex!!! He bridges into a Pin! Lynn goes for the pin... 1...2...3... NO!!! RVD comes off the top rope at 2.99999 with a Five Star Frog Splash onto Lynn! RVD wins it with the Five Star!!!
