AfRoMaN36 Posted April 7, 2007 Posted April 7, 2007 Unfortunately, because of this screwy week off, I've been having a tough Time knowing which day it is, so I completely missed watching Smackdown in favor of watching Borat on DVD. This kinda thing has been hitting me bad lately, today I found out I was supposed to come in for work yesterday but missed it completely. And I dont some pot, so I dont even have that as an excuse. So this week, I have no review, but I will make a thread anyway only because I love you. And the added good news would be that I dont offend anyone this week.... .... or will I?
lovestruck420 Posted April 7, 2007 Posted April 7, 2007 Well just to let you know Smackdown really didn't need much of a review this week. It was crap........... I actually stopped watching about halfway through the show to Watch WCW Mayhem 99 on my ON DEMAND service. It was much better, and that should tell you something.........
djthefunkchris Posted April 7, 2007 Posted April 7, 2007 Ok, some quick highlights.... Sharmelle /smacked Booker! Yep, that's right, She laid the SMACKDOWN on Booker T....errrr KING BOOKER (in the Regal way). Although seems my hopes of her leaving him went all to heck when she ran to his aid at the end (More on that in a bit). Chavo and Helms vs London and Kendricks! Was a great match!! Miz locked horns with Benoit, and DESTROYED BENOIT!! Just kidding, MVP come and saved him by tugging Miz out of the devastating Head butt from the ropes... Needless to say, Benoit head butted the canvus in a sort of awkward looking self DDT, lol. He was out cold, MIZ Wins (sorry, but that part actually happened). Kennedy overcome Jeff Hardy. As he was walking tall out of the area, he was attacked by Hornswaggle. This actually was just a distraction as he went after Hornswaggle, Finlay come out of no where and got him from behind. Face in Kennedy's face, hand on his (Mouth? Throat?) not sure, but he was really ticked off at Kennedy for attacking his leprochaun. He told him "You ever touch Hornswaggle again, you will be watching Wrestlemania 24 in a WHEEL CHAIR!! You hear me!!" Kennedy, obviously scarred, just nodded. Later he asks for retribution from Teddy Long... He says he wants a match with the guy that wants to interfere with his match's (No one interfered). Teddy's like "Hold it Playa, I got a hottie here" He pats Krystal on the booty, gives her a sly wink, she giggles and blows him a kiss, hinting "There's more where that come from." "So who are you talking about Mr. Kenn....... Oops, my bad, Dog. Mr. Money in the Bank!" Kennedy Answer's him "I want him Teddy, I want him bad!" "Are you sure we're talking about Wrestling, playa?", "Yeah Teddy" "Ok, who?" "Hornswaggle!! That's Right, I want him. He wants to interfere, Then I want to let him!" "Alright Playa, Surething Mr. Money in the bank! Next week on Smackdown it will be Mr. Ken... Money in the Bank!! Versus... Hornswaggle!!" "Awesome Teddy, Your a good guy! Thanks Alot" "And Hornswagle's partner will be!!" "No Teddy, Don't do this!" "Finlay!!!" "Errr" "Ok, see you playa, I have stuff I need to take care of" "Oh, Err!" As Kennedy leaves, Teddy opens up a card that Krystal left him with. "Lets see here, wow Beautifull!!" (Obviously looking at naked pics of Krystal). Well, It might not have been that entertaining, but it was close! Then Taker comes out to the ring, and we all believe he's going to say something (I just realised that Taker is only good at "TAPED" interviews/angles). Of course, Batista's music comes on, and he comes to the ring. They proceed to stare at each other, neither really giving an inch, Batista actually looks good here. "Congratulations" Batista says. This is it, This is where they are going to talk (either of them, would be ok with me). "I want my rematch" Batista says, nonchalantly.... Then he leaves, lol. Just like that it's over. Booker for some reason decides now is the time to attack the guy with the belt... He gets tombstoned on the announce table (or something pretty sturdy), and is left there. Sharmell shows up at this point looking concerned for Booker (remember she's supposed to be ANGRY at him, but I guess him getting carted off in a stretcher changed her mind).
PoisonedSuperman Posted April 7, 2007 Posted April 7, 2007 It was one of the best shows I have seen in a while, The Miz vs. Beniot match was my favorite and that Teddy Long and Cristal thing is just plain stupid.
PeterHilton Posted April 7, 2007 Posted April 7, 2007 Chris' recap covered it. I almost never watch SD; but I thought the show was good. I didn't like the ending.
AfRoMaN36 Posted April 7, 2007 Author Posted April 7, 2007 Well from the look of things I shouldve held off on watching Borat then... :(
lovestruck420 Posted April 7, 2007 Posted April 7, 2007 I just really don't see how this was a good show, yeah it had a couple twists but not that great and it just seems jammed together.
djthefunkchris Posted April 8, 2007 Posted April 8, 2007
I just really don't see how this was a good show, yeah it had a couple twists but not that great and it just seems jammed together.
You said you missed half the show? I believe alot of things come together during the second half, and probably part of your bewilderment.
Undertaker666 Posted April 8, 2007 Posted April 8, 2007 Overall I thought it was an average show, especially for one straight after Wrestlemania. Few things to note that haven't been mentioned: Kane vs Dave Taylor with William Regal. It ended up not even being a match, Kane destroyed both of them despite Regal hitting Kane with a chair and both of them attacking at the same time. It's about time they got Kane looking like an indestructable monster again! :) London and Kendrick vs Chavo and Helms. Not a bad match, I was expecting Helms to turn on Chavo at some point but it never happened. If Kendrick doesn't slow down a little in future he's going to hurt himself or his opponent. King Booker is now 'out of action' according to wwe.com. I think this is just a way to get him off TV for a while so that he can come back as Booker T - hinted at during the Money In The Bank match when he did the Spinarooni! Match from The Vault. WHAT THE....?! The first Smackdown after Wrestlemania and they show us an old tag match between Hurricane and Shannon Moore vs Tajiri and Jamie Noble. WHY?! Good match, but WHY? Ending was really poor. After all the hype that "Undertaker is here tonight!" etc. and then.... nothing really apart from the Tombstone on Booker.
I just realised that Taker is only good at "TAPED" interviews/angles
You serious? He did some great stuff during his American Badass days, it's just his gimmick that prevents him from doing a good promo. It'd look a bit strange if he whipped the crowd into a frenzy with a Hogan or Rock-like promo! :D
djthefunkchris Posted April 9, 2007 Posted April 9, 2007 Yeah, and your right! I guess I meant that he don't talk as Undertaker (THE Phenom from Hell!). He only talks on Video "Batista, You and ME, Summerslam, Last Man Standing!" then "You shall rest in Piece!"
Marshall Posted April 9, 2007 Posted April 9, 2007
Match from The Vault. WHAT THE....?! Good match, but WHY?
The Match from The Vault is a segment used to fill the two hours that is used for extra adverts over the American broadcast from what I gather. I've found it quite interesting to go down memory lane... Granted, there isn't always rivetting matches that make you sit up, but matches like a heel John Cena vs The Undertaker from a few years ago were really interesting in my opinion...
Then Taker comes out to the ring, and we all believe he's going to say something (I just realised that Taker is only good at "TAPED" interviews/angles).
