mad5226 Posted April 9, 2007 Posted April 9, 2007 Alright so I just thought of an idea for this that probably won't be incorporated because I imagine that it would be way to much code for what it's worth...but here's my idea. I was thinking have WMMA have to differant modes one free-for-all mode which is basicly how TEW runs where you just play a never ending type game until you get fired or what have you. (I realize Adam has said a millon times not to base our ideas off of TEW because it's going to be a whole new platform or what have you, but bear with me it makes my examples simpler.) The other mode would be a mode that revolves around a preexisting story. I'll elaberate on this in just a second. I first just want to say my reasoning behind this. I'm been playing TEW for awhile now and one things I've noticed is that it seems like one of the main reasons everyone is turned off by it is because of how huge the C-Verse is and how unfamiliar they are with it. So you make this short little story mode as a small way into the C-Verse where people can get a grasp on how it's layed out. So here's the example: (Again using TEW for convience) Let's say you begin your game as the head booker of MAW. Rip gives you one objective. The Invitaional is coming up and he wants you to book a show that's at least a D. That's it. After you book the show, assuming you meet the requirment you move on to stage two or what have you have the sceniro. This time you're head booker of CZCW and you're asked to do something a touch more challenging... I don't know say book the next 3 shows and make at least 5,000 in profit. Anyways the point is you get small objectives to complete each "stage" and it's a way of getting a small taste of every promotion and and a bigger taste of some of the workers that you woud other wise never even come across. Probably not the best explanation but I hope I got my idea across...thoughts???
NickC13573 Posted April 9, 2007 Posted April 9, 2007 that seems like a good Idea... but for a management simulator... I dont know.
Capelli King Posted April 9, 2007 Posted April 9, 2007 Not that i want to complain, but i never liked the "mission" type of games. Of corse having an "option" is fine with me, but frankly speaking there have been allot of such "options" proposed and i highly doubt Adam will go for this one
asdfx3 Posted April 10, 2007 Posted April 10, 2007 I guess it's nice to have objectives to aim for, but that kind of goes against the open-ended nature of the sim. I understand that this would just be an add-on feature, but really, you could just start an org from scratch and give yourself these goals. The reward: success.
Colby Posted April 10, 2007 Posted April 10, 2007 I think...whether it be for this game or TEW then having goals like those regularly appear in the owner goals list would be better than what we already have/get in that goal part of the game. Rather than making a whole new mode out of it, doesn't make much sense to me personally especially when you could just expand one section of the game and get the same effect (obviously without multiple promotions, which is a bad idea anyways)
asdfx3 Posted April 10, 2007 Posted April 10, 2007 Now that I think about it, this could be useful as a tutorial/demo part of the game. Get your feet wet before plunging head-first into all the considerations of running a full organization.
mad5226 Posted April 10, 2007 Author Posted April 10, 2007 right thats what I was trying to say just use it as a tutorial so people get a feel for the basics of the game, and at the same time get familiar with the C-Verse (hence the differant companies)
