Capelli King Posted April 12, 2007 Posted April 12, 2007 I mentined this in my ideas list. Together with the "Limited stats" post i mentined earlier. Scouting will play a huge role. Your scouts could give you information on a fighter based on his fights or what he saw in training. You already know he is a Wrestler, but how good does he grapple? How good is his takedowns? How good is his ground and pound? Obviously a person with no standup training will be limited but what about those stats mentioned. You could send you scout out and he could give you his view on his stongest 3 stats (e.g) or his weakest 3 stats. The acuracy of the scounting will depend on how much time was spent scounting him and for how many fights. One other detail which would be interesting would be if the fighter is improving or on the down. It could be interesting if the scout could give details on if he thinks the fighter is worth signing, if he is more of a prospect, if he is a title contender. You could have your scouts simply go to events and look to talented new fighters. Scouting and scouts in general will play more important role.
Blackman Posted April 12, 2007 Posted April 12, 2007 Scouts should primarly visit Martial Arts training facilities to scout for talent in specified regions, but yes, a very good idea, and imo essential if the game is going to be what I think it's going to be. :)

Maybe the "independent" scene or rival promotions events or even the "Olympics!", for some Judo or Wrestling gold medalist.
kadekash1983 Posted April 12, 2007 Posted April 12, 2007 Scouting is a great idea. It was always one of my favorite features in Madden. Too add to earlier suggestions...the scout could also tell you whether or not a fighter is charismatic or not. Charismatic fighters will help sell tickets or boost ratings if you have a TV show. If you had a show such as The Ultimate Fighter then you would ideally look for talented young fighters, but also fighters with good charisma and etc. to make good TV.
