kadekash1983 Posted April 12, 2007 Posted April 12, 2007 Will camps be included in the game? Such as which camp a fighter is with? If a fighter belongs to an elite camp his skills might rise faster or his training might be better. Some camps are also known for a specific specialty. Like Tito Ortiz's camp is known for the ground and pound and say a Gracie camp would be known more for its Brazilian Ju Jitsu.

Romdawg88 Posted April 12, 2007 Posted April 12, 2007 Camps are a huge part of MMA so I would think they would make it into the game somehow.
praguepride Posted April 13, 2007 Posted April 13, 2007 hopefully when development reaches that far there will be another poll for fan voting
Capelli King Posted April 13, 2007 Posted April 13, 2007 I think the camps will surely be involved especially if you take account that we had "dojo's" in TEW( i know it is a different game). I think that the dojo idea will be reformed. In TEW04 you could own a dojo and send trainers to help out. In TEW05 you could choose what skills to focus on. I think in WMMA we could see a combination with even more options added in. I do not see many other options where we will be able to develop fighters so i guess Adam will be having some poll on the camp idea on how we would like to see it runned.

He can train where he wants. Obviously the fighters could and will move from camp to camp. With maybe a small group of them staying loyal to where they train. Although i do not see the problem sending some of your fighters to train in some of your own facilities, especially the younger ones which maybe lack the funds or sponsorships.

That was however outside of the oversight of the state atheletic commisions.

Of course, I don't think anyone trains there full time but allowing you in the game to build your own center that your fighter can use or where your TV shows are filmed won't be to bad. I would prefer that as the owner you have little to no control over the various camps in the game unless you have a situation similar to Takada and his camp. I think the most we should be able to do is form relationships with different camps so that their more willing to send their fighters your way. Kind of like the relations Chutebox or BTT had with PRIDE or MFS with the UFC.
Jay_Fish Posted April 16, 2007 Posted April 16, 2007 owning camps several fighters do own their own camps or training centers, and or gyms. Randy Couture for one just opened up one in la, i cant think of the name of it off the top of my head though. Also look at team punishment, im sure tito gets a nice chunk of change from that also. as for owners of promtions and promoters themselves i think they should only offer training centres and offer coaching offers and fighting contracts depending if a tuf option is in the game or not. If not then just the fighting contracts
Capelli King Posted April 16, 2007 Posted April 16, 2007 I know this may sound stupid, but being from Europe (Cyprus) and do not get to see much US MMA, i hear the term "tuf" alot in the posts, what exactly does that stand for?

Jay_Fish Posted April 16, 2007 Posted April 16, 2007 thanks Thanks i knew i heard about it recently and i hope that they can be included in the game as it will be interesting to see how the training and improvements will be done in this game
Capelli King Posted April 16, 2007 Posted April 16, 2007
The Ultimate Fighter, UFC's reality show.
So that is what it is
thedraem41 Posted April 17, 2007 Posted April 17, 2007 I do hope camps will be included in the game, but actually have trainers and such at them so you can have more in depth history on who ran it and how it was influenced.
badbeat Posted April 23, 2007 Posted April 23, 2007 I should have read down further i posted some about this in other threads but... Training Camps/Teams ARE a huge part of MMA. I think the variety of camps and the detail of what they do should be very detailed, however I think at the same time it should be something that the owner of the organization has zero control over. Some things that this could add are things like, your organization might be more known for brawling and a team like Brazilian Top Team may be less likely to have their fighters sign with your org... or if you have had bad contract dealings in the past with a couple different MFS fighters then maybe that nwe MFS fighter you want will be difficult to sign, or ask for more money, etc... lots of cool things have to do with the Team you train with...
badbeat Posted April 24, 2007 Posted April 24, 2007 I was thinking about this more and the more I do it is almost a MUST because it is such a huge part of MMA IMO. 2 Equal fighters, one makes it to a good camp, one keeps training on his own... fighter A ends up light years better almost always.
