Carlzilla Posted April 14, 2007 Posted April 14, 2007 I was thinking of spearheading a project that would take user created feds/characters/etc. and merge them into one usable database. I've already started adding my user created feds and workers (I have about 4 or 5 feds total ). Would anyone be interested in contributing to this type of project?
Sensai of Mattitude Posted April 15, 2007 Posted April 15, 2007 Hey man, I wouldn't mind adding a small fed with 10-15 workers at some point. I'd rather do it later on the the process though, because I need alot of other data in there first to compare my stats to, you know what I mean? I'm not very good at basing something off of a small amount of data.

Moe Hunter Posted April 15, 2007 Posted April 15, 2007 I've got about 60 workers (including three Road Agents and Referees), I'd love to put them in to a project like this. Seems as though everyone's created guys are going to be quite 'upstatted' compared to CVerse and especially the surprisingly low FORC. I'd say that if indeed everyone's data has high stats, then really that's likely to be quite balanced anyway. Only problem I have is that I've been using a mostly CVerse pics, but I know I've used quite a few user-made pics from the render thread but don't recall whose - and I know that a lot of those guys want to at least be checked with before their pics are used in any 'release' - and rightly so!
Payne Posted April 15, 2007 Posted April 15, 2007 Hey, I'm into this. Got some stuff I can throw in there.
Carlzilla Posted April 15, 2007 Author Posted April 15, 2007 I'm not really looking to regulate what people can and can't do with their characters. Everyone is able to edit the data as they see fit after it's released anyway, so if they think someone is too high, they can change it. I just want a good base of workers and promotions and such to play with.
Brotherfury Posted April 18, 2007 Posted April 18, 2007 this may be a stupid question, but how exactly do i make a addon (mod) for you to add to this project? I mean i have a bunch of created stuff and i just need to know what to do with it... right now its mixed with cornellverse. Broham
Carlzilla Posted April 18, 2007 Author Posted April 18, 2007 Import it into it's own database then send that database to me to import to the OpenSourceVerse project. That would probably be the easiest way honestly.
SuperstarJimiC Posted April 18, 2007 Posted April 18, 2007 Carlzilla, when did you join TEW? I thought you were with TNM7. I'm also with a wrestling card game RWG. You figure the math on that.
Carlzilla Posted April 18, 2007 Author Posted April 18, 2007 Still am with TNM. TNM is better for storytelling, it's more of a tool than a game. TEW is more of a game to me, it's horrible for working stories with in my opinion.
Adam Ryland Posted April 18, 2007 Posted April 18, 2007
TEW is more of a game to me
I'd certainly hope so, that's the intention! :D
Moe Hunter Posted April 19, 2007 Posted April 19, 2007 So if I were to zip up my custom database, where would I send it to exacly?
Carlzilla Posted April 19, 2007 Author Posted April 19, 2007 Good point, I never listed an address. carlzillagmail[dot]com
DanB Posted April 20, 2007 Posted April 20, 2007 I love the idea of this! I presume, though, things like venues, TV Networks, PPV Carriers.. etc. will be in with the data? Otherwise, it'll end up getting absolutely huge if everyone started entering their own ones.
Carlzilla Posted April 20, 2007 Author Posted April 20, 2007 Yeah, I've got all that taken care of. Just need the more creative parts, workers, promotions, etc. etc.
