ROF Fighting The Giant

ROF FIGHTING THE GIANT As had been widely reported at the time Ring of Fire have had a hard time of it since the ruling promotion in the kingdom, 21st Century Wrestling, was snatched up by fame hungry Jeff Nova. With some of it’s best stars snapped up by the suddenly wealthy company ROF found itself floundering in ever increasingly shallow audiences. All credit should go to British Samurai who refused to bow down to pressure and transform his technically proficient product in a bastardised American sports entertainment rip-off. He has remained ever loyal to the pure heart of the wrestling industry; a welcome antidote to the bad acting and flashy moves of the American invasion. But, the people are against that whole idea and notion. They want the flash and glamour. They want broken bones and high risk. Is there any hope at all for British Samurai and his brave warriors? Can ROF turn the tide of opinion and make a glorious comeback? We shall see.

www.rof.co.uk Monthly Shows Scrapped For Tour Schedule Management have decided on a new strategy to keep costs down. 2007/08 will see ROF adopt the Japanese style of touring. Hopefully, this will give the company time to make some money with merchandise when not running shows. We shall see if this bold move is really suited to the British shores. Touring months are: Winter Tour: November, December, January, February. Summer Tour: July, August, September. This scheme already has its problems as current Ring Of Fire Champion, UK Dragon, is touring with WLW until the end of February. What does this mean? It means we won’t be seeing our champion on the current tour. Belt’s Scrapped ROF is certainly being blown with a wind of change. New head booker, Geoffrey Harris, has announced that he is scrapping the ROF Tag Team belts and the ROF #1 Contender belt. He is, however, introducing a new belt: ROF Young Lions. “I don’t believe tag teams have a place in this promotion any longer,” Harris stated at a press conference this morning. “And I don’t honestly see the point in the number one contender owning a belt. But, what I do believe in is promoting the stars of tomorrow so, British Samurai and myself have created a new belt for just such a purpose.” New Talent? Head booker, Geoffrey Harris, has been a busy man since his arrival yesterday. He means to boost the size of the roster by bringing in some new talent. Rumour has it that he’s been in touch with French brothers Jacques and Pierre DuPont. Further news as we get it.

www.rof.co.uk More Talent? Rumour has it that Geoffrey Harris is looking for a temporary replacement for the currently unavailable UK Dragon. Reliable sources seem to point towards Burning EXILE. We’ll keep you posted. Shock Firing Donny Damage has been released from his contract as Road Agent. Management are keeping tight lipped about the decision, but one suspect the Geoffrey Harris will be filling the new role.

Being held in front of 39 people at Norman Blue Athletic Center. Young Lions Championship Eric Future V Jonni Dyslexic Eric Future started the match with some impressively fast moves, but it wasn’t enough and Jonni Dyslexic ended up dominating the match with the bigger and better offence. Dyslexic won in 12:58. Rating: E Merle O’Curle V Billy Robinson Merle O’Curle owned Billy Robinson. It was down, in no small part, to O’Curle’s smart game plan. He focused on Robinson legs the whole match and managed to get Billy Robinson to tap out to the Celtic Wreath in 12:35. Rating: D Lance Martin V Petey Barnes If the last match was an exercise in technical proficiency, this match was an exercise in brawling. Although Lance Martin may as well have not bothered turning up as Barnes was all over him. He must have attempted at least twenty pinfalls, finally knocking Martin out with a Superkick in 13:29. Rating: D- Kelly Martin V Johnny Highspot Counter upon counter; this was a very even match, but a great string of moves by Kelly Martin towards the end finished Highspot off 12:55. A great, close contest. Rating: E+ Walter Morgan V Don Henderson This was a great, close, technical match. Henderson nearly beat Morgan early in the match with a German Suplex that sent an astonished gasp through the audience, but Morgan kicked out after a two and half count. Walter Morgan won, however with a Bow and Arrow Lock in 12:33. Rating: D+ British Samurai V K’Lee Hawkins One of those great matches where you’re never quite sure who is going to win. So many great moment, and a complete build up of tension. Probably the best match I have ever seen at Ring Of Fire. British Samurai won in 13:21. Rating: D-

I'll be reading this as the UK C-verse does interest me. If I could humbly offer some advice, though, I would recommend two things:

Adding pictures - they always make it easier to visualise and break up the mass of text.
Pad your match descriptions out as much as possible as yuou're running a pure product.
Godd luck with this, dude. It's hard enough with MoSC... Quote The Raven Nevermore
