davebiggs Posted April 15, 2007 Posted April 15, 2007 ok so i'm not a huge fan of tna at all but i love crazy matches, I hated the last tna ppv and have not watched it on t.v since.... Is lockdown a ppv that has had some crazy holy **** moments or is it basicly just a bunch of cage matches? I need some input before i dish out the cash. I want to see crazy spots not just boring electric cage match where no one gets "shocked".....on that god awful rhino match from last ppv....that match made me cry in pain.
Actarus Posted April 15, 2007 Posted April 15, 2007 So I'm hardly qualified to answer this question, but if you go to www.liveaudiowrestling.com (no, I don't work for them), and click on the 'TNA Lockdown Preview' link, the radio guys give a roundtable breakdown of the PPV that would be more informative then anything I can say. Personally, the only match that interests me is Jerry Lynn / Christopher Daniels. If they give it time, I think this match alone could make it worth the buy. Hopefully, this helps.
mystic Posted April 15, 2007 Posted April 15, 2007 I own the first two on DVD and honestly I am really not interested in tonight's show. Sure I can see what TNA is trying to do with the lethal lockdown match because now with jarrett a part of team angle both teams are now distrusting each other. The idea that jarrett is there just bothers me, especially since the crowd cheered him so easily. The LAX vs. Team 3-D match I am worried about because I hope it does not turn into a "Lets just throw each other into the cage and fry the other team match" plus the gimmick is bad I think. an Xscape match for the title should not be happening really takes away the wrestling aspect in a title match that I think may have been good if not under these rules. Wildcat” Chris Harris vs. “Cowboy” James Storm in a blindfold match (another bad gimmick match) Lynn vs. daniels will be the match of the night. The only problem is I don't like this whole lets compare daniels to sting every chance we get. A match between the two would be great I think but the storyline would be a repeat of sting/abyss "what's wrong with daniels, can sting "save" him" Petey Williams vs. Robert Roode is a match I am just not interested in Gail Kim vs. Jackie Moore would be ok if they let these two go at it, but someone will step in a ruin the match Austin Starr vs. Senshi should be good but please take out backlund Christy Hemme's Team vs. VKM, again not interested. The pay per view will have a few holy **** moments but those will be saved for lethal lockdown and the tag title match. The whole concept of lockdown has lower the value of a cage match for me. I would save my money, and not buy the pay per view tonight
davebiggs Posted April 15, 2007 Author Posted April 15, 2007 Thanks for the input, you just saved me some money....casue if i read some reviews with out seeing the results i may get the replay..... It seems to me that tna is just lacking in huge talent that i care to see. Its largely wwe castoffs. very rarely do i see a good match.... i just want to try to give them a chance.
mystic Posted April 15, 2007 Posted April 15, 2007 if you have not seen it here is the pwinsider.com preview of lockdown http://www.pwinsider.com/ViewArticle.asp?id=23922&p=1
Dragula Posted April 15, 2007 Posted April 15, 2007 It is also a PPV where careers are ended, a la Chris Candido...
Tigerkinney Posted April 15, 2007 Posted April 15, 2007
It is also a PPV where careers are ended, a la Chris Candido...
Chris Candido's injury that lead to his untimely demise, could have happened at any-time, in any match, the fact that he picked up the injury at Lock-Down in a cage match had nothing to do with it..as the cage did not come into play at all when the injury happened.
Moe Hunter Posted April 15, 2007 Posted April 15, 2007 No Alex Shelley on the card? I don't keep up with TNA but I loved all those PCS segments and the previous Nash/Shelley bits, and saw a couple of PPVs from when Christian Cage debuted. Seriously, Shelley is full of win, and needs to be pushed. What was the point of him winning the final PCS match if he's not being featured while "AMW fight each other... blind!" and "Team Canada fight each other... Who cares?!" Oh, and I assume Styles and Joe are part of the Angle/Jarrett/Other guys match?
mystic Posted April 15, 2007 Posted April 15, 2007
Oh, and I assume Styles and Joe are part of the Angle/Jarrett/Other guys match?
yes styles is on cage's team while joe is on angle's team
davebiggs Posted April 16, 2007 Author Posted April 16, 2007 I gave in and bought the ppv.... shelly is in the opening match.
davebiggs Posted April 16, 2007 Author Posted April 16, 2007 I must say this first match has alot of wow thats a cool move...but the match as a whole is not great.
mystic Posted April 16, 2007 Posted April 16, 2007
I gave in and bought the ppv.... shelly is in the opening match.

I must say this first match has alot of wow thats a cool move...but the match as a whole is not great.
so the XSCAPE MATCH is first
