ortonius
How many teams would you guys like to see make the "playoffs"? IMO, there should be an option for 8 or 16 teams. If we were limited to one choice, I would choose the 16-team playoff. That's 4 games to win the playoff and would have a very representative field of good teams...and as we know in college football, upsets CAN happen. Arlie Rahn
At this point, BBCF will have a 16-team playoff. One automatic bid for each of the 11 conference winners with 5 at-large additions as well.

slingblade73
Is this an option? Bowl games or Playoffs?
Scott Vibert
From the developer chat:
Q: What are the options for post-season? BCS, old style bowls, playoffs, a combination of these? Arlie Rahn- There will be "BCS-like" bowl system, as well as a playoff. I am on the fence on whether the playoff will be 8,10 or 16 teams. The playoffs will be based on some poll (or computer ranking system
So yes it would appear to be an option.
slingblade73
I am ready for a new game. NCAA Football 06 will tide me over.
jbmagic
i wish the playoffs was after the bowl games was all done. the top 16 rank after the bowl games goes to the playoffs. that will be nice for an option too.

How does the at large bids work, is it based on the Top 25 rankings? Thanks, DiGI

Thanks, DiGI
There's a Grey Dog ranking that fills in the remaining 5 at-large teams based on the top 5 teams in the poll not receiving an at-large bid. The ranking is based on the coaches poll, media poll and computer rankings.
Mr T Jobs To Me
How will the teams be seeded? IMO it should be by the Grey Dog Ranking regardless of if they got an auto bid or an at-large, otherwise the top 5 teams in the tournament would end up playing tougher opponents. slingblade73
In the past we used to set up a tourney just like what Arlie is talking about. It was always sweet because eveyone had a shot and the best of the rest got in.
Arlie Rahn
The seeds would be based solely on the GD ranking - auto bid or at large doesn't matter.

Cooleyvol
Will online leagues have an option to override the GD ranking and place teams in the at large spots at their will?
slingblade73
This years playoffs would have looked like this: North Texas (16) at USC (1) Toledo (15) at Oklahoma (2) Pitt (14) at Auburn (3) Michigan (13) at Texas (4) Iowa (12) at Cal (5) LSU (11) at Utah (6) Louisville (10) at Georgia (7) Boise St (9) at Virginia Tech (8)

slingblade73
Auburn at USC The winner is: USC walking away. 41-14 This would be some great football.
slingblade73
Arlie, you should code for the teams to be re-seeded after every round. It would be an incentive for being ranked higher.
