[CENTER][I]I was forced to scrap my ROH Diary after my dickhead older brother started playing a Two Player game with me (Hes in from college) and after massively owning him he decided to delete my game file yesterday.. [/SIZE][/B][/quote] Granted there are some "Stars" on the roster but nobody that really stands out as anything "Widely acclaimed" or "Extremely popular"... The only one who the WWE can claim is both of these is John Cena and after him being shoved down our throats for the past few years he now gets mixed reactions. The WWE has tried in many different ways to make superstars recently. Most of them are what us fans would call "Failures"... [U]Example Number One of Superstar Making Failure[/U] [CENTER]The Your a Star so therefore it makes me a star approach[/CENTER] [LEFT]This is by far the most pitiful excuse of all of WWE's approach's to making a superstar. They usually take a young (Green) wrestler and put them together with a more experienced over wrestler for either a fued or a tag team.[/LEFT] [LEFT]In theory it should work great (Like Communism) but in the end its an utter failure (Like Communism). Mainly because the WWE expects big things to happen too fast. Three example of this would be...[/LEFT] [CENTER][IMG]http://www.gerweck.net/kendoan.jpg[/IMG][/CENTER] The Kenny Dystra VS. Ric Flair fued. While some people had mixed reactions over the fued I think most would agree it had an interesting concept. Young 20 year old kid who is on fire and just finished one of the worst gimmicks in WWE History (See Spirit Squad) against a the old vet who still had a few good matches in him... This fued had the oppurtunity to be a good long fued with Flair either constantly one upping Dykstra showing whys hes the dirtiest player or Dysktra beating Flair month after month by cheating until finnaly Flair realizes the error of his face ways and then finnaly switches over to Kenny's side! However after beating Flair cleanly Dykstra was then regulated to matches in which he jobbed or killed jobbers on Heat. This team was actually not all that bad compared to some previous tag teams (See Duece and Domino) but it was a makeshift tag team attempting to recreate a legendary tag team.[/LEFT] [LEFT]Of course the matches were not bad and who knows it might have been able to go somewhere, someday eventually. However the WWE saw it fit to pull the plug on this one prematurely therefore hurting the only surviving Road Warriors credibility plus ruining the chances of Jon Heidenreich had of becoming a star (See none)[/LEFT] [CENTER][IMG]http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v216/macjap/WWE/th_557000_7c410ab365_m.jpg[/IMG][IMG]http://www.cjlo.com/images/Shows/lonesome/Lex_Luger.jpg[/IMG][/CENTER] [LEFT]The final one of course is WWE's attempts to bring back Past Gimmicks (That failed in the past) and put them on new wrestlers.[/LEFT] [LEFT]The most recent one that comes to mind is of course the Masterlock Challenge (See Hercules Hernandez Full Nelson) with Chris Masters. However that is almost a sucess story compared to the one we are discussing.[/LEFT] [LEFT]Just after Wrestlemania 20 during the Superstar Draft WWE saw it fit to break up a hot young tag team by the name of Jindrak and Cade. Cade stayed on RAW and was forgotten about until he started teaming with Trevor Murdoch while Jindrak was moved to Smackdown to be managed by Theodore Long. While on Smackdown he was given a Lex Lugerish Gimmick and labeled the Reflection of Perfectoin (VERY Similar to the heel Luger gimmick ala WWF ala 1990s).[/LEFT] [LEFT]As you can expect WWE pushed him for three weeks or so on Velocity and when he did not connect with the crowd they instantly teamed him with Luther Reigns and fired him...[/LEFT] [LEFT]Of course maybe Heidenreich and Jindrak are not the best two guys to compare to such stars as Austin and the Rock. However I would put money up saying that guys like Carlito, Shelton Benjman, Elijah Burke, CM Punk, Paul Burchill and Gregory Helms all have that Austin/Rock Superstar Presence within them....[/LEFT] [LEFT]Its just WWE's Time to Unlock it![/LEFT]

Don't get me wrong he was all over the idea of making money (Come on its Vince McMahon) but he is in that old school wrestling mind-frame of if its not broke don't fix it.[/LEFT] [LEFT]The product may not necessarily be broken but there was something definitally wrong with it. The WWE used to have record breaking sales, house shows selling out and enormous TV Ratings. However these days they have trouble selling house show tickets and garnering the ratings of old.[/LEFT] [LEFT]Vince knew something had to be done. He kept hearing the buzz around the wrestling world about this "Ring of Honor" and this "Total Nonstop Action"... Quite frankly he knew that if he did not do something quick then he could very well have another WCW to rise up and attempt to beat him.[/LEFT] The worst thing Vince knew is that Ultimate Fighting was after him as well.... [LEFT]Vince also knew the best part of the whole "Move back to a basic wrestling product" deal. It would actually not be that hard. All he really needed to do was make the Main Event scene interesting again... Then make the Tag Team and Cruiserweight Wrestling Divisions some of his key points...[/LEFT] [LEFT]The beginning of this new era as Vince called it would be very soon. Just like the "Attitude Era" you just can't spring it all on the fans in one night.
