After an even opening minute they just brutalise them both with a Crack in the Mouth putting Whitmer out for the count just over 2 minutes in. This was worthless and meaningless, and just plain bad. Winners at 2:21 Deuce ‘n’ Domino Rating: D John Cena makes his way to the ring to a chorus of boos, but he walks down the ramp flipping the fans off and laughing. He grabs a mic from ringside and immediately starts talking. Cena: Production idiots, cut the music. Moronic fans…shut you damn mouths! Look, usually I’d do a nice rap and my next opponent and how they’re crap. I’m out here to lay down a challenge yo, a one-on-one match with Rey Mysterio. Look, Rey- last night you made a big mistake throwing me out of that Battle Royal. You left me no option but to get revenge…but that was only part of it. It’s only just beginning Rey. It continues tonight with John Cena and William Regal team up to take you out. It continues from now until Summerslam- John Cena vs. Rey Mysterio, one-on-one…ain’t no why you’re walking out of Summerslam…if you even make it there. Word Life. Rating: B+ Non-title: WWE Cruiserweight Champion Brian Kendrick vs. Rob Evans vs. These two didn’t click really at all, but it was still a solid midcard bout. The two wrestled a fast-paced match for 4 minutes until Kendrick hit a Dr. Smoothe’s Secret Recipe for the win. Winner at 4:20 Brian Kendrick Rating: C A video plays hyping Val Venis vs. CM Punk. It shows their respective rises up the card and then highlights from Vengeance, Venis’ promo on Raw and Punk’s promo on ECW. Guerrero dominated the early goings with cheating until Hero and Sydal took him out with a Double Dropkick. After a brief cruiserweight style match-up Guerrero got back in after taking out Sydal from behind. A minute later, he was hit with the Heros Welcome for the 3 count! Winner at 4:57 Chris Hero Rating: D+ Mister…KENNEDY…KENNEDY! Ken Kennedy makes his way to the ring for his tag match. The lights dim to a single spotlight and his mic drops down. Kennedy: Now that I have everyone’s attention…I’d like to make an announcement before I introduce myself and my tag team partner. I came THIS CLOSE to winning at Vengeance: Night of Champions. I was the rightful winner. I’d just done the impossible and eliminated The Undertaker, just like I defeated him in his last match on Smackdown back in January. I was then attacked from behind by a has-been from Raw which led to my criminal elimination. I deserved to have my hand raised, but I’ve realised what’s happening. The front-office idiots don’t trust me one-on-one on pay-per-view, so they stack the odds against me to stop me from winning that title shot. Hear me out! This year I’ve only competed in ONE singles match on pay-per-view, way back in February. Why, I hear you ask? Kiddies, it’s because the Board of Directors fear that I will injure and destroy anyone I face one-on-one…and they’re right! But I’ve seen the so-called superstars- and I use that term loosely- in the back, and I know that almost all of them have either balls or stupidity. The point is, they are all lining up for a chance to make a name off Mr. Ken Kennedy. And well, here’s your chance. If anyone wants a shot, just make yourself known before Summerslam. I’m laying out an open challenge to anyone brave or plain moronic enough to accept it. Now, without further ado…the reason your fat asses are in those cheap plastic seats tonight and every night Ken Kennedy’s in town…this next tag team bout is scheduled for one fall! First, I way in tonight at an impressive, natural 244 pounds…I hail from Green…Bay…Wis-con-siiiin………MISTER…KEN-AH-DAY…… Cole: Wait for it… JBL: Shut up moron. Kennedy: ……KENNEDY! And my partner…from Washington D.C…weighing in at 290 pounds…Batista! Rating: B Batista makes his entrance, followed by Christian and Jushin Thunder Lyger and the match begins. & vs. & This wasn’t as good as expected for some reason but good enough for the mid-card. Christian and Kennedy started the match, followed by a few minutes of Christian-Batista. Every time Lyger tagged in, Kennedy tagged out and the announcers stated that Kennedy was probably fearful of his legendary talents. In the end, Christian and Lyger picked up the win after 9 and a half minutes when Batista was pinned after the Peep Impact. Winners at 9:31 Christian and Jushin Thunder Lyger Rating: C+ Christian and Jushin Thunder Lyger leave the ring and head up the ramp. Batista follows, but Kennedy stays in the ring for a minute or so, kicking things around and looking angry. Just as he goes to leave the ring, Theodore Long’s music hits and the GM comes onto the stage! Long: Hold up now, playa! Now, you laid down an open challenge before that tag match and it’s been answered! I was watching that match from just behind the curtain, and one of your opponents expressed a keen interest in shutting you up! He will get a chance to do that at Summerslam, so here’s me making it official! At Summerslam, one-on-one…Mr. Ken Kennedy…versus…Jushin Thunder Lyger! Holla, holla, holla, ya feel me? Rating: C+ WWE United States Title Match: United States Champion Paul London vs. Montel Vontavious Porter vs. This could’ve been better but it was still a solid effort from both men. They both played a very technically-orientated game which may have made the fans lose interest at times. It was an even match for its 8 minute duration and whilst the winner wasn’t a surprise the ending was confusing. MVP was hit with a series of dropkicks, crossbodies and arm drags before getting Back Body Dropped out of the ring. Porter simply shrugged and left the ring-side area, heading up the ramp and backstage, clearly wanting to cut his losses and fight for the title another time, maybe later in the year when he’s more prepared (at least that’s what Michael Cole said). Winner at 7:52 and STILL United States Champion Paul London Rating: C We cut backstage where the new Ultimate Wrestling Champion CM Punk is standing by. Punk: So tonight I’m facing three of the best that Smackdown has to offer. Here’s the thing…I’ve heard whisperings backstage, I’ve heard the hushed voices and the rumours going round. People are saying that I’m a fluke champion and that I only won because Val Venis helped me. But, you see- the only reason we were having that match was because Randy Orton had Mike Tyson to attack me the first time we met, costing me the win. What goes around comes around, but tonight I’m going to prove everyone wrong. I’m facing Bobby Lashley, Booker T and Randy Orton. I’ve not faced Booker or Lashley in singles action this year and I look forward to proving that I do deserve to be your champion. Boys, just watch out, ok? Rating: B+ Rey Mysterio vs. John Cena and William Regal vs. & This, not surprisingly, was the best match of the night so far, lasting little under 10 minutes. Mysterio used his speed to his advantage at times, hitting quick hurricaranas and arm drags on the legal man before hitting a quick strike on the illegal man at ringside. However, eventually the numbers game was too much for the ultimate underdog who was pinned after an F-U. Winners at 9:49 John Cena and William Regal Rating: B- Cole: That was a disgrace! Rey should never have been put in that match! JBL: Rey’s not crying, so shut your mouth. Get ready to call the main event, this should be incredible! Three of the best on Smackdown…oh and CM Punk. Cole: Will you stop? He’s the Ultimate Wrestling Champion and beat you in your only one-on-one match! JBL: Just shut up and let’s watch the match. Rating: B Non-title: WWE Ultimate Wrestling Champion CM Punk vs. Bobby Lashley vs. Booker T vs. Randy Orton vs. vs. vs. (w/) The show steadily got better and better, with this rightfully being the best match of the night. It was nearly 15 minutes of great action, with all four men showing that they have a right to be called the best. In the end, Punk was hit with a Powerbomb by Lashley. After this, Orton hit an RKO on Bobby but the pinfall was interrupted by Booker who followed up with the Scissors Kick. Punk was up and hit the GTS on Booker T and then locked in the Anaconda Vice on Lashley! He submitted and Punk got the win. Winner at 13:39 CM Punk Rating: B+ After the match, Lashley’s helped to the back and Punk leaves with his arm raised. Booker T shakily gets to his feet but he’s taken out from behind by Mike Tyson! Randy Orton starts shouting that Booker should’ve have interrupted the pin attempt and that it was a big mistake. Orton hoists him up and Tyson hits a few strong rights to the temple. Tyson then holds Booker up and Orton runs from the opposite side of the ring for an RKO but no! CM Punk’s back in out of nowhere and hits clotheslines on both men before throwing them out of the ring and going to Booker’s side, helping him up as the show comes to an end. Rating: B+ FINAL RATING: B+ Success! Predictions: Mattitude: 5/7 Gatorbait: 3/7 ColtCabana: 3/7 Thanks for the predictions guys, any comments on the last couple of shows?

Some pre-Raw news... -WWE have announced that most of their TV deals have been secured for at least 4 seasons (Raw will continue on USA for 8!). -Also, Todd Grisham has been resigned. -Plans for Chris Masters have changed yet again. WWE have already sent him a notification that they wish to review his contract. This could mean a longer term deal, less appearances or even a dismissal. More as we get it. -WWE have also reported that they have made a major new signing this week. News is that the signing is not exclusive to the company, and can work other shows. They are refusing to report on who the signing is, and the performer himself (presumably a male) will apparently keep quiet himself, or else risk being fired. -Also, it has come to light that at the end of July, Bob “Hardcore Holly” Howard was quietly released from his contract, because of turning up late yet again.

Tonight’s card looks like a real slobberknocker and what a way to kick things off! Here comes Shawn Michaels! Lawler: Well on Smackdown on Friday Bret Hart insulted Shawn Michaels and then beat up someone dressed as Michaels, getting the bell rung when the guy didn’t even tap! JR: It was an immature thing to do for sure, so let’s see what the Heartbreak Kid has to say on the matter. HBK: I’m sure you all saw the beginning of Smackdown this past Friday night. Well, in case you missed it, let’s take a look…
Bret “The Hitman” Hart makes his way to the ring and gets a mic from ringside. Hart: I did it! On Raw earlier this week I got some measure of retribution for 10 years ago. I got in the ring with Shawn Michaels and I BEAT HIM! Cole: What the hell?! They get even louder when he comes out to the stage but…it’s not Shawn! Bret is still acting like it is, but it’s clearly a set-up by Bret. It is in fact BJ Whitmer dressed up as Michaels, but he’s wearing a Hogan-esque bald wig with hair at the back and keeps holding the bottom of his back. After a while he’s released and Bret leaves with his arms raised. Whitmer gets out of the HBK gear and stays in the ring for the next match.
HBK: Real funny, huh Bret? The fact of the matter is you can’t move on from 10 years ago, which led to you making on last grasp at regaining your old fame and fortune by making a name of yourself off Shawn Michaels. Let’s face it Bret…that’s what you’ve always done. You’re known as the Montreal Screwjob guy who can’t get a grip of reality and let it slide. Well, I’m glad you can’t let it slide because it means I get to kick your ass and make you tap for certain this time, 10 years on, and shut you up for the sake of everyone who’s forced to listen to your whining. That little display on Smackdown was, I admit, pretty funny and a good attempt to get into my head, but it didn’t work Bret. I’m better than you, I’m more talented than you and anything you can do, I can do- A familiar guitar slide plays over the PA and the crowd start booing Bret before he’s even out here. It’s actually Steve Corino dressed in pink and wearing a wig. All the way down the ramp, “Bret” keeps telling any fan who’ll listen that the man in the ring screwed him and he wants revenge. HBK: Whoa Bret! Steady on, no need to get into the ring, I was only joking. Don’t take things so seriously! Alright, I guess you’re coming in here anyway. Look, Bret. I’m going to be a gentleman. You…attacked me on Smackdown and put me in the Sharpshooter. Instead, I’ve just got a little comparison. Since 1997, you’ve done NOTHING significant in the world of wrestling. I’ve been at Wrestlemania, on pay-per-view after pay-per-view. You’ve held the United States Title in…that company…oh and their world title, but we own both of those anyway. I’ve been Commissioner…World Heavyweight Champion and Tag Team Champion. The difference being, my achievements were in a company that’s still going strong and didn’t have to be reopened in March. You don’t deserve to be in this ring, you slimy traitorous bastard…get out of our ring. With that, “Bret Hart” looks dejected and nods saying that Michaels is right before leaving the ring with his head hanging. Rating: A We cut backstage where Kenny Dykstra is in an office. Dykstra: Good evening. I’ve decided that in an attempt to cleanse the WWE of filth and wrong-doings, whilst proving that I am without a doubt the best Intercontinental Champion in history, I’m going to find myself a new partner. Interviews will begin this week, the first being…right now. Please come in! Dykstra smiles as the camera shows the man walking in…Dorian Deville. The monster of a man sits down. Dykstra: So, Mr. Deville…what is your pay-per-view experience? Deville: … Dykstra: Erm…I understand you’ve fought with Steve Austin? Deville: … Dykstra: He’s the sort of people we HATE in this company- he promotes misogyny, alcoholism and crude language. He’s not the sort of man we want on our screens, I trust you agree? Deville just nods. Dykstra: I’m sorry Dorian…I’m not sure you’ve shown in this interview that you have what it takes- Deville leans over and drags Dykstra over the desk screaming and growling at him. Dykstra: Whoa! But having said that, I’ll think about it! Just give me some time, I need to do some more interviews over the coming weeks and I’ve got a title defence next. I’ll…erm…I’ll be in touch. Rating: C Intercontinental Title Match: IC Champion Kenny Dykstra vs. Paul Burchill vs. This was given enough time to be a nice little match to keep the fans interested in both men. Burchill got in a lot of offence early on, but after 7 minutes Dykstra was able to hit the Leg Drop off the top rope for the win. Winner at 6:57 and STILL Intercontinental Champion Kenny Dykstra Rating: C Ric Flair is backstage warming up for his Triple Threat match later tonight with Val Venis and Edge when Johnny Nitro bursts in. Nitro: Steady on Naitch! I’m just here to talk. How are you doing? Flair: Don’t pretend to care, get to the point. Nitro: Ric…why the hostility? I’m just here to offer some…friendly advice. Look, this match tonight. I don’t think it’s the best idea- Flair: Why, Johnny, why? I’m a 16-time World Champion, I was wrestling way before your parents even MET…you’re not fit to lace my boots! Nitro: Ric, calm down. I just meant that well…you’re in the ring with the Number One Contender. If you win, that surely moves you up a bit and well, you’ll be a marked man. You should just step aside and forfeit the match and let me take your place. Flair: Really? Are you actually…OUT OF YOUR FRICKING MIND! I’m the Nature Boy and I’m going out there to prove why I’m STILL the man! Wooooooo! Rating: B Flair storms out of the room, but Nitro immediately follows. Ric doesn’t hear Nitro follow him and take him out from behind! Nitro throws Naitch into the wall backstage and starts kicking and choking Flair against the wall whilst screaming that Flair should listen to Nitro and respect him. He’s eventually dragged off by security. Rating: B Carlito Caribbean Cool and Charlie Haas vs. Bryan Danielson and Nick Armaho & vs. & This was a decent match but Carlito and Haas didn’t gel as a team; all their timing for double teams were all over the place and it harmed the match at teams. However, it was still certainly watchable, ending nearly 8 minutes in when Haas was pinned with a Dragon Suplex. Winners at 7:37 Bryan Danielson and Nick Armaho Rating: C Shelton Benjamin vs. Samoan Seanoa vs. This was again quite short, being only 6 minutes, but the matches have been consistent in the lower card this show and certainly haven’t been bad. This was fairly even and both wrestled a more mat-based style which showed a side to Seanoa that WWE fans hadn’t seen before. In the end, Seanoa got the win when Benjamin passed out to the Coquina Clutch. Winner at 6:04 Samoa Seanoa Rating: C The Triple Threat match is next, and Edge comes out first but has something to say. Edge: Cut the music! This company is a freaking disgrace! I should have won the Battle Royal at Vengeance. I know other people have said it, but hell I actually have a reason to be pissed off. I had Batista eliminated, and who knows where the match would’ve gone when I’d have just thrown him over the top. But no! For some reason- some bizarre reason that I don’t understand- Val Venis saves the Animal and sends me out. I would have won the match had Val not been unsportsmanlike. Look, I understand that Val…you’re jealous of all my past successes and maybe you’re a tad pissed off that I said I was better than you a couple of weeks ago, but that’s really no motivation to rob a man of his right. When I insulted you the other week, I wasn’t trying to make this personal- it was strictly business with the intention of just making a scene and getting myself some attention. You’ve made this personal Val, so now it’s my turn. I’m making this personal. After years of dedication to this company, you’ve finally earned your shot against a fighting champion, CM Punk. Fighting champion…I’ve heard people backstage say that Punk will never back down and will accept any challenge presented to him. Well, Val. I’m going to test that theory. Punk, Venis has already won a guaranteed title match against you. Why not make him wait, and face me one-on-one at Summerslam? Come on Punk…we faced off against each other for the right to face Randy Orton a few months ago…let’s make this fair and give me the first shot. You’ve got till the end of the night to give me an answer…champ. Rating: B+ Edge stays in the ring as Ric Flair and Val Venis make their entrances. Flair is bandaged up. vs. vs. Venis was hit with a cheap shot from behind just before the bell rang, and Edge immediately started attacking Flair after this, focusing on the weakened ribs. This continued for a while until Val and Edge fought for a few minutes, with Flair getting in bits of offence but nothing significant. In the end, after 10 minutes of action, the ref’s back was turned and Flair hit a low blow on Edge before being hit with a Spinebuster by Venis. The Number 1 Contender then climbed to the top and hit a Money Shot on Edge for the win in this legendary match. Winner at 10:13 Val Venis Rating: A* Shawn Michaels and The Undertaker vs. Triple H and Umaga & vs. & This was a fantastic match featuring four of the most consistent workers in the WWE today. All four gave it their all for the 15 minutes of action which came to an end when Triple H pinned HBK after a Pedigree. Winners at 15:48 Triple H and Umaga Rating: B+ The match has finished, but Triple H continues to lay the boots into his former partner and best friend. Undertaker gets in to try to stop it, but charges right into a Samoan Spike! Umaga and the Cerebral Assassin go out of the ring and bring in a steel chair and a sledgehammer respectively. Triple H charges and takes out Michaels with a shot to the gut just as Undertaker runs into a stiff swing of the chair. Both are then battered with fists to the skull until they’re left bloody and out cold. Rating: A* Non-title: WWE Ultimate Wrestling Champion CM Punk vs. Johnny Nitro vs. These two showed signs of great chemistry which made this into 12 of the best minutes of wrestling this year. They went all out to give the fans a fantastic main event and certainly succeeded. Nitro looked like he could easily hang with the main players on Raw, which gives his apparent feud with Flair some hope. In the end, Punk hit the Go to Sleep for the win! Winner at 12:02 CM Punk Rating: A* CM Punk celebrates his win before getting a mic from ringside. Punk: So, it’s the end of the night. Edge, you wanted an answer? I guess I don’t really have a choice, do I? Let’s be fair…if I say no out-right, you’ll bitch and moan about been sidestepped and ignored. Part of me thinks you don’t deserve a shot. I mean, you lost to me already to get a chance at this title! You also got pinned tonight…and finally, the fans just really don’t like you Edge! *Decent pop* But you’re right, I will accept all challengers, but not if it means taking Val’s shot away from him. So, here’s how it’s going to go down…I’ve checked this with Eric Bischoff and Vince McMahon backstage, and this is booked and confirmed. Since you were arguably screwed out of the match tonight that would’ve pushed you closer to a shot for this title had you won, you’ve got a chance to earn it. At Summerslam, Edge will face Val Venis for the Number One Contender spot…and the winner will face me…THE SAME NIGHT at Summerslam for this Ultimate Wrestling Championship! Good look boys, I look forward to it. Rating: B+ FINAL RATING: B+ Success

Pre-show: Battle Royal: “Ace” Chris Colton Abyss Balls Mahoney Colt Cabana Drake Younger Gene Snitsky Jerry Lynn Jimmy Rave Tommy Dreamer Viscera This was a decent pre-show match that would be well-received on TV any week. Cabana was eliminated first, followed by everyone ganging up on Viscera. Drake Younger was next, then Jerry Lynn and Jimmy Rave. Mahoney was sent out by Snitsky and the final four was Colton, Dreamer, Snitsky and Abyss. Chris Colton was sent out by Tommy Dreamer in the 8th minute, with Abyss going out after Dreamer hit him over the top rope with a steel chair 9 minutes in. Dreamer was eliminated less than a minute later when Gene Snitsky sent him over the top with a Big Boot for the win. Winner at 9:46 Gene Snitsky Rating: C Bryan Danielson and Unnamed vs. Marcus Cor Von and Matt Striker The unnamed partner of Danielson carried himself like a bona-fide superstar, starting the match with snap DDTs, Spinebusters and even a corner Splash before tagging in Danielson. The American Dragon wrestled an even 2 minutes with Striker before finishing him with a Dragon Suplex. Danielson looked good in this decent match, but Cor Von and Striker should definitely never team together again. I’m Joey Styles and what a night! Tazz: We’ve got 11 superstars that are current or former champions in the WWE at some point competing tonight! Styles: It’s certainly a stacked card from top to bottom, and we’re kicking it off with one half of the Xtreme Tag Team Champions! Tazz: That’s right Joey. The Sandman is fighting in singles action this week and this is his first one-on-one match of the year! This should be extreme. ECW Xtreme Tag Team Champion The Sandman vs. Senshi Dragon vs. This was an even match but was too short to mean anything and the fans were just not at all interested. It mercifully ended just before the 3-minute mark when Dragon hit a Ghetto Stomp for the upset! Winner at 2:54 Senshi Dragon Rating: D+ CM Punk’s music hits and the Ultimate Wrestling Champ makes his way to the ring to a fantastic ovation. Punk: I’m sure you all saw my announcement at the end of Raw last night, but just in case you didn’t catch it, let me recap for those in the arena tonight and all our fantastic fans watching at home all over the United Kingdom! Edge bitched and complained about not getting a fair shot, so he’s got it. If he beats Val Venis at Summerslam, he faces me in the main event that very night. Val…I apologise that you’re not getting the shot you earned right away, but I’m sure you won’t mind because like me, you’re a fighter. And to tell you the truth, it’s you that I want to face for this title and have a match of the ages. Venis, you’ve fought away for 9 years to get a shot at this and I wouldn’t have given Edge the chance if I wasn’t sure you can beat him. With that said, I don’t plan on giving this title up at the first major hurdle. I’m in the ring with another champion tonight, a new champion in the Big Red Monster Kane. We both lost last week to Brock Lesnar, so tonight it’s time to see which champ is the best. Is it Kane, the ECW Xtreme Champion, the champion of ECW, the Land of Extreme…or…is it me, CM Punk, the WWE ULTIMATE WRESTLING CHAMPION, the champion of…the…ENTIRE…WWE! Kane, props where they’re due…you’re a fantastic talent and it’ll be an honour to face you to build some momentum to build on over the coming weeks. It lasted just under 4 minutes, and all 3 men showed why they deserve to be in the WWE, wrestling a fast-past yet technical match. In the end, Martin got the shock win with, well, the Shellshock on Daniels! Winner at 3:52 Alex Martin Rating: C- Mordecai, Elijah Burke and Rob Conway vs. Rob Van Dam, Ken Shamrock and Tajiri && vs. && This was a solid match that was given enough time to develop nicely and showcase all 6 men. Conway got in more offence than expected, dominating Tajiri at one point. After 9 and a half minutes of solid action, Burke hit the Elijah Experience on Shamrock for the win! Winners at 9:31 Elijah Burke, Mordecai and Rob Conway Rating: C+ Rating: B+ Brock Lesnar vs. Perry Saturn vs. This was a good match, much better received than expected, featuring a solid mat-based display. 5 minutes in, Lesnar put Saturn in the Brock Lock, but Perry got to the ropes! The ref counted…1…2…3…4…5! Lesnar didn’t released and got himself disqualified, more interested in demonstrating his strength than winning a match! Winner at 5:16 by DQ Perry Saturn! Rating: C+ Non-title: Champion vs. Champion: WWE Ultimate Wrestling Champion CM Punk vs. ECW Xtreme Champion Kane vs. Although shorter than the earlier tag match, this was a much more interesting match. The fans loved seeing the two best in the WWE right now facing off one-on-one, and were on their feet for the match’s 8 minutes duration. Punk hit Kane with everything he had, but the GTS was avoided when Kane simply landed on his feet and goozled the Ultimate Wrestling Champ! A Chokeslam later, Kane had the victory! Winner at 7:56 Kane! Rating: B+ After the match, Val Venis ran down and helped CM Punk up, handing him and Kane their belts. Pre-show: Mark Briscoe vs. “Lethal” Jay Shipman vs. Jimmy Wang Yang This wasn’t that good, but it gave the cruiserweights some ring-time. All three men got in equal offence in the 5 minutes they had to work with, and the match came to a sudden end when Yang hit Shipman with the Michinoku Driver II. Winner at 4:48 Jimmy Wang Yang Rating: D Jack Styles vs. Jamie Noble This lasted less than 2 minutes, which was somehow less of a shock than the result! Styles went for a Hurricarana but it was reversed into a Tiger Bomb for the shock win! Winner at 1:38 Jamie Noble Rating: D+ Cruiserweight and WWE Tag Team Champion Brian Kendrick, Rich Davin, TJ Wilson and Unnamed vs. William Regal, Rob Evans, Deuce and Domino This was a good match, and yet again the mystery signing carried himself like he could be a legend in the business. Regal also looked good in the match, but the match came to an end 5 minutes in when Deuce was pinned by the unnamed signing with a Reverse DDT. Kendrick came out of this looking great. Winners at 4:45 Brian Kendrick, Rich Davin, TJ Wilson and Unnamed Rating: C- Cole: Champion and Number 1 Contender teaming up, a United States Title Match and Booker T facing Randy Orton AND Mike Tyson…all that and more, tonight. This was open for the first couple of minutes but the last 90 seconds was just all Danielson as he finished the match off with the Dragon Suplex. Winner at 0:38 Chris Hero Rating: D Randy Orton’s music hits, and the former Ultimate Wrestling Champion makes his way to the ring, accompanied as always by Mike Tyson. The two are dressed in sharp suits and get into the ring looking proud but pissed. Tyson gets a mic. Randy Orton was screwed out of HIS Ultimate Wrestling Championship, a title he beat The Undertaker for to become the SECOND EVER CHAMPION! You all booed him any time I gave him assistance, but cheered when Val Venis got involved to help your hero. Well, it’s bull-**** and we’ve had enough. Last week on Smackdown, another man did something to continue this vendetta against myself and my client Mr. Orton. Orton: That man was Booker T. Look, Booker. Why did you interrupt the pin? That’s the question on everyone’s mind. Booker, why did you do what you did last week? The question on everyone’s lips as they left the arena or switched off their television sets, the men before they went to bed wishing they could be Randy Orton and their wives going to the bathroom or the bedroom to pretend they were with Randy Orton...the question was why, Booker, why? Cole: I believe the question was why did Randy Orton and Mike Tyson double-team and cheap-shot Booker T after the match finished? JBL: Shut your damn mouth, Orton’s question is fair and I want an answer! Orton: Don’t trouble yourself, Book. Don’t bother coming out here to stand up to me, because I know you can barely stand. Tonight, you’re facing myself and the Baddest Man on the Planet, Mike Tyson. Unlike last week, CM Punk will be nowhere near the ring. The Corporation leader Shane McMahon has banned him from getting involved in this little argument again. It’s just us two and you, Booker. I hope you really are better after last week, because if you’re not you won’t last a minute against Mike Tyson and Randy Orton, Legend Killer! Rating: B+ La Resistance vs. The Highlanders & vs. & This was another poor match that brought the crowd’s mood down after the fantastic promo they just watched. Winners at 4:40 The Highlanders Rating: D A video airs to hype the WWE. It features Bret Hart’s return and a brief history, Randy Orton as the main player on Smackdown and now the only former-Ultimate Wrestling Champion on the brand and CM Punk as the current Champion after years of hard work and dedication. Lyger was sadly off his game, but the fans were still into the 6 and a half minutes of action. Lyger and Mysterio had a great cruiserweight exchange whilst Kennedy played a fantastically cheap heel, but the end came when Lyger hit a Brainbuster on Rey for the win. Winner at 6:34 Jushin Thunder Lyger Rating: C+ Lyger celebrates his win on the top rope but Kennedy crotches him from behind and hits a Back Suplex followed by stomps to the knee and spine of the legend. He hits a kick to the gut followed by a DDT and goes up top, connecting with the Senton Bomb. Lyger’s hoisted up again and Kennedy hits the Green Bay Plunge, but as he flips out of the Steamroller he goes right into a drop toe hold! Mysterio appears out of nowhere to hit it and goes for a 619 but Ken Kennedy slips out of the ring up the ramp signalling that he was “this close” to ending Lyger’s career and he will do it at Summerslam. Rating: B- Paul Burchill vs. Bobby Lashley vs. This was as good as expected, but was a surprise in that Burchill got in a surprisingly equal amount of offence in the opening couple of minutes. However, Lashley’s size and power were too much for the Brit who was pinned after a Spear nearly 5 minutes in. Winner at 4:43 Bobby Lashley Rating: C United States Title Match: WWE US and Tag Team Champion Paul London vs. Suicide vs. This could have been a lot worse and it was a surprise that it was the best-received match of the night so far. That said, it only last 1 and a half minutes, with London getting the quick win with the 450 Splash. Winner at 1:33 and STILL WWE United States Champion Paul London Rating: C+ Cole: Well before we move onto the handicap match pitting Booker T against Orton and Tyson, we have some huge news from the back! Next week Brian Kendrick will defend his Cruiserweight Title against three new-comers to Smackdown. B-Boy, Mark Briscoe and Ted Hart will all get an incredible opportunity against the champ that most have to work for. Theodore Long is feeling generous, however, and these three men have their chance next week! JBL: That’s right, and it is a great opportunity for them. The champ doesn’t have to be beaten, so these rookies can just take out the champ and make history! Cole: I’m sure they will all be out there just for themselves and will want to etch their own name in history and on the face of that belt, rather than any of the three so long as it’s not Kendrick! Also, these three are some of the best cruiserweights in the world and have proved themselves on the indy scene! They can really go, and Kendrick will have to watch out in this must-see match next week on Friday Night Smackdown! Rating: E- Booker T vs. Randy Orton and Mike Tyson vs. & The fans really hate to see Tyson wrestle, although they’re slowly starting to accept him on rare occasions in-ring. The match was 8 minutes long, which may not have been best as Tyson and Orton got in roughly the same amount of ring time. After 6 minutes, Tyson was the legal man but Orton ran into the ring. Booker caught him with the Book End out of nowhere and hit the Houston Hang Over! Tyson then charged but was met with a kick to the gut...Scissors Kick! Booker defies the odds and gets the win just as Orton starts to slip into the ring. Winner at 7:57 Booker T! Rating: C+ Booker T has his arm raised, but he’s spun round by the former Ultimate Wrestling Champion who goes for a quick RKO. Booker pushes him away though, but turns straight into a stiff right from Tyson! The Baddest Man on the Planet starts to choke Booker out and lays into him with rights and lefts before holding him up by the chin. Orton hits a punt to the groin and follows up with a devastating RKO. The two look ready to leave, but Randy pauses and holds out his hands. Mike Tyson laughs and nods, pulling...the steel chain out of his pocket and letting it drop into the open palms of the former champ. Booker’s hoisted up again and Orton hits one more RKO, this time with the chain, and leaves Booker unconscious on the mat. Rating: A Christian’s match with John Cena is up next, but Captain Charisma has something to say before the Doctor of Thuganomics can come out. Christian: Batista, this is personal. You see, you’ve punked me out weeks ago and then when I vowed to get revenge face-to-face at Vengeance in that Battle Royal, you hit me from behind. You took me out and then seemed pissed when CM Punk helped me. I don’t get why! I mean, he was just doing what I do...what’s best for each and every one of these fans. I made that challenge because I know they all want to see me kick your ass and get revenge in the middle of the ring. We could’ve sorted this without having to make it a singles match but no! You took me from behind- you seem to like doing that to guys, don’t you Dave? You attacked me and eliminated me when I couldn’t see you coming. I vowed revenge at Vengeance and I will get my revenge Batista...for the company because of the money it will bring in...for the fans because they will get a classic match...and for me...because I won’t sleep until I’ve met you in the ring, one more time, and had a chance to knock you out cold. The two do battle for nearly quarter of an hour and the fans love every minute, going crazy and booing when Cena hits the F-U out of nowhere for the win. Winner at 13:48 Rating: B+ Cena gets a mic. Cena: Yo, yo- look, I’ve just shown why I’m gonna walk out the winner at Summerslam. I defeated Christian in the middle of the ring moments ago. Last week, I teamed with the great William Regal to beat down and destroy Rey Mysterio. I know that most of you don’t like I way I did things, but well that’s just too bad. I really don’t give a crap if you’re all happy or you’re sad. I beat him down last week and this week got some momentum. In a couple of weeks I will destroy you at Summerslam. Rey-Rey, there ain’t no way you can beat me, it’s a matter of fact. I’m gonna win, whether it’s by pin-fall or you tap. You lost tonight, I won- let’s cut the tension for Summerslam with a knife! No doubt John Cena is walking out the winner...Word...Life! It was still a fine main event though and served to add more hype to the Ultimate Wrestling Championship situation at Summerslam. In the 15th minute, the illegal man (Venis) was taken out by both Batista and Edge (the legal man) with a double shoulder block, knocking him off the apron. They followed this up on the outside with a brutal Double Spear before getting back in the ring. Batista starting shouting that he wasn’t getting his chance at the champion so he wanted to get the pin-fall now. Edge hit a fantastic Spear of his own and then tagged in Batista. The Animal picked up the champ and hit a powerful Spinebuster for the win. Winners at 19:49 Batista and Edge Rating: B FINAL RATING: B Mike Tyson was used too much, but the show was still a success. Raw preview will be up shortly.

NEWS FROM THE FRONT OFFICE... -Chris Masters has signed a contract extension to keep him with WWE for the next 18 months. Raw Preview: Paul Burchill vs. Steve Corino- After fighting in a losing effort against Bobby Lashley on Smackdown, Burchill looks to try his luck on Raw this week against the veteran Corino. World Tag Team Champions Cade and Murdoch and Women's Champion Cheeleader Melissa vs. The Hardys and Mickie James- Champions and main contenders face off this week with two of the best tag teams in recent memory teaming with and against the Women's Champion and her contender in a rare Women's Division showcase of sorts on Raw. Intercontinental Title Match: IC Champion Kenny Dykstra vs. Chuck Palumbo vs. Charlie Haas vs. Dustin Rhodes vs. Carlito Caribbean Cool vs. Shelton Benjamin - This week Dykstra continues his search for a partner in the cleansing of the WWE and will be interviewing the Hardcore Legend Mick Foley. However, he also asked for this match to scout five of who he considers the best of the under-utilised on Raw. Will he walk out with the title and a partner or will the plan backfire and cost him his championship? Dorian Deville vs. Bryan Danielson- Danielson's streak could come to an abrupt end. Deville is yet to make a splash since losing by DQ to Stone Cold Steve Austin earlier in the year and will surely be enraged after not being hired by the IC Champion last week. Will Danielson continue on the legendary path he's creating for himself or will Deville's reign of dominance begin tonight? Shawn Michaels and The Undertaker vs. Triple H and Umaga- Both teams have a history with each other and this should be an explosive rematch. After the brutal beat-down last week, Will Triple H and Umaga destroy their respective rivals once again or will the two Texans gain some momentum and respect, refusing to back down? Non-title: WWE Ultimate Wrestling Champion CM Punk vs. Val Venis vs. Johnny Nitro- Nitro lost a non-title singles match last week but has been put into this Summerslam preview match of sorts, if Venis can beat Edge earlier than evening. Can Nitro cement himself as a superstar and prove that his abuse of Ric Flair was not unfounded? Will Venis get some momentum heading into the biggest match of his career, or will CM Punk show that he deserves the title he beat Randy Orton for a couple of weeks ago? Ric Flair vs. Edge- Flair was injured last week after a brutal assault by Johnny Nitro. He still went on to fight against Edge and Val Venis in a Triple Threat later that night. Flair lost, but so did Edge. The Rated R Superstar said on WWE.COM exclusively that Flair was a distraction and he wants revenge this week. Will Edge start the ball rolling heading into Summerslam or will Flair prove he can still go?

Pre-show: Dan Severn vs. Jim Duggan A rare appearance by both of these men, it was a short but even affair. Duggan dominated the first minute and a half until Severn cheating to gain an advantage and kept it for the next minute until the Beast Choker forced Duggan to tap. Winner at 2:33 Dan Severn Rating: D The Bulldogs vs. Cryme Tyme This was a poor 5-minute tag match that the fans didn’t really get into. Shad and JTG dominated the early goings with quick tags and double teams until Smith and Siaki fought back looking to win it a few times. However, it was not to be, with JTG pinning Harry Smith after a G9. Winners at 4:48 Cryme Tyme Rating: D+ Doug Williams vs. Unnamed This was a decent pre-show main event that kept the fans interested, despite it last less than 2 minutes and the identity of one of the participants being unknown. I’m Jim Ross alongside Jerry Lawler here to welcome you to Monday Night Raw! Lawler: This should be a great edition of Raw, as always. Kenny Dykstra chose five men who he thinks find their talents under-utilised on Raw. Tonight, he’s giving them a chance at the IC Title and to prove themselves worthy to be his partner in what he’s calling a Dykstra’s Decision Match! JR: Before we get to all of that, Paul Burchill comes to Raw now to face Steve Corino! Lawler: JR, why is Burchill even allowed to appear on all three brands? JR: Well King, he’s a pirate! They won’t be tied down by loyalty and the only way Mr. McMahon could get Burchill back in WWE was if the British Buccaneer could appear on any show he wanted and wait before tying himself to any of the three brands! Hunter...we both know that just isn’t going to happen. You took me out when I was vulnerable and that’s ok- that’s this business, that’s how it works round here. But it’s also a dog-eat-dog world and a world where my morals play no part. It’s not turn the other cheek, it’s fight fire with fire and Trips...you’re going through hell, fire and brimstone tonight. I was watching Smackdown and saw Christian say he wasn’t going to rest until he’d knocked Batista out. Triple H, I’m not going to rest until I’ve beaten you in the middle of the ring and finally shut your mouth. The same goes for Bret. I’m tired of the games, I’m tired of being funny. It’s personal Bret, so let’s not pretend this is business. Don’t be fooled by the cheap laughs and snazzy suits, because I’m still Mick Foley, bang-bang! You wanted a partner, and there would be no better than me! But really, who would you get? My good friend Cactus Jack hates everything you stand for- he loves the extreme violence, the swearing and the bloodshed you’re trying to censor. Mankind is just freaking insane and a troubled soul who wouldn’t understand, and Dude Love lives for sex and a good party. Kenny, I’m the Hardcore Legend and I would be a great asset as Mick Foley, but can you cope with the unpredictability that would bring? I know you’re meant to be interviewing me but Dykstra- think very carefully about who you want to hire. Mick Foley would be willing to at least try and help, but Cactus, Mankind and Dude Love may not be so ready to join you in your quest to destroy the unpredictable and the extreme. Good look Kenny, but I don’t think all of us are in. Dykstra: Yeah well Mick, I’m a busy guy. Plus, your language and general presentation is atrocious, so maybe you should leave for the quality of tonight’s programming. Consider yourself...censored. All six men showed that they deserve to be featured more than they are for nearly 12 minutes. In the end, Carlito hit Backcrackers on Palumbo, Benjamin and Haas but turned into a Clothesline from Rhodes that sent him over the top. Rhodes was floored with a Dropkick by the champ which was followed up by a Guillotine Leg Drop (which JR says is now called Off The Air) for the win! Like me, you’ll do whatever it takes to win and reach the top of this business. What I want to know is...where’s your problem with the Nature Boy? Woooooo! Edge: That’s it Ric! It’s the constant reliance exclusively on low blows, cheap shots and Woooooo to get the crowd going and get to the top. I’d rather have my title reigns than your 16 because I’ll fight for them- Flair: If by “fight for them” you mean wait until the champion’s beaten down and destroyed before picking up the pieces, I totally agree Edge. Edge: Shut the hell up, Ric. You cheat and the fans cheer for you. I do the same thing and they boo me. But you see Ric, that’s not my issue with you. We’ve had our fights in the past, whether you respected me or not, but this should be our last stand, Ric. Last week I had a chance to cement myself as the rightful Number One Contender for Summerslam but you had to get yourself put in the match- Flair: Stop right there! I was in the match because Eric Bischoff said so. He makes the matches and knows that the Nature Boy is STILL a huge draw on Raw! Woooooo! Edge: For how much longer though? How much longer can you REALLY keep going? The end of the night? Until Summerslam? Maybe you’ll make it to Survivor Series, but you won’t last much longer Ric. Time’s catching up with you. Flair: You’re not the first person to say that Edge, but here’s the thing...I’m 35 years into my career and I can still hang with the likes of you. Edge: You’re not who you were Flair. This match tonight...you can’t win it. You can’t beat the Rated R Superstar, the best of the present and future. Flair: Diamonds are forever, and so is Ric Flair son! I’ve held World Title’s more times than women have had your cheap Space Mountain imitation. Space Mountain and the Nature Boy can still go and the day I don’t believe it myself, and the day I can’t back it up is the day I give up. Edge, for one night only, you have a rare chance. You can make a name for yourself. Nitro tried to take me out and end my career last week, attacking me from behind. You don’t need that, son. If you can beat me tonight...I’ll walk away. But Edge...you better bring your A-G- Edge slaps Ric in the face, drawing a bit of blood from the Nature Boy’s lip. The Rated R Superstar storms off, leaving Flair looking shocked and hurt. Despite the clash of styles, the two put on a decent match due to Danielson’s exceptional ability. Nearly 6 minutes in, the right finish happened when Deville pounding Danielson in the corner until the ref had no choice but to disqualify him. Deville was left looking relatively strong with Danielson keeping his streak. Now, boys and girls, ladies and gentlemen and Jerichoholics of all ages I have some bad news. We’re a couple of weeks away from Summerslam and I noticed something missing from the card. I know it’s not been finalised yet, but we’ve already got Val Venis versus Edge for the Number 1 Contender spot, then CM Punk versus the worthy winner. We’ve got Ken Kennedy facing off against arguably the second-greatest junior of all time- second only to me early in my career, of course- Jushin Lyger. We’ve also got John Cena and Rey Mysterio- again. Look, there’s something missing. Where’s Chris Jericho?! Well I’ve spoken to Eric Bischoff, Vince, Stephanie, Shane, Linda, Steve Austin- hell I’ve even spoken to Theodore Long and Paul Heyman but alas! With some things in the pipeline there’s no room for Y2J Chris Jericho on the Summerslam card. Now, don’t worry those of you who purchased tickets. Before the show, there will be a Battle Royal that will NOT be recorded and never seen again. I’m going to be there purely to entertain you. Finally, when I was on my search for the bizarre logic behind keeping me off the main show, I found out some interesting information. The first Raw after Summerslam will see an announcement from the Don himself, Vinnie Mac! It involves the Ultimate Wrestling Title and Cyber Sunday and I have to say, Vince...for the sake of my Jerichoholics and myself...and your health...I better be involved. The emotion was fantastic, with the fans really believing that they just hate each other. We got half way through the 9th minute when Umaga (illegal man) sent legal Undertaker over the top rope with a Samoan Spike! They started to brawl as HBK hit the Sweet Chin Music to send Triple H over as well. The ref began to count as the four men brawled around the ring and up the ramp, not making it back in time for the count. As it stands, it was still a brilliant match that will be remembered for a long time. Nitro hung with the Champion and possible Number One Contender which helps him in his possible feud with Ric Flair. Nitro controlled part of the match with cheap-shots and takedowns, hitting Venis with the Superkick followed by a Standing Moonsault 10 minutes in. He looked like getting the win, but Punk broke up the cover and hit a couple of Arm Drags followed by the Go to Sleep! The champ got the win just under 2 weeks away from defending his title against an opponent he doesn’t even know yet. Winner at 11:04 CM Punk Rating: A CM Punk is celebrating his win, title above his head when Val Venis walks over and spins him round. They went for nearly quarter of an hour which was full of solid action. They had a proper wrestling match for the first third, with the middle of the match being an all-out brawl and the final minutes being moth men trying to out-do the other with eye-pokes and rakes behind the ref’s back. In the end, Flair managed to keep his career alive and forced Edge to tap out to the Figure Four! Winner at 14:28 Ric Flair Rating: B- Flair struts and Woooooos to celebrate his win to the fans delight, but this turns to anger when...
Yet another great show man. Keep up the good work. I like how you have given Val Venis a main event run much like the WWE have refusen to do throughout his career.
Sorry it's been a while, not had the internet since the 16th, been away. Thanks for the kind words again, and as for Venis- he's always been one of my favourite's, and he's got the loyalty and look that Vince usually likes. He's over as well, no matter how much he's been jobbed out, so I really don't see why he's not been pushed more.

Pre-show: “Fallen Angel” Christopher Daniels and Elijah Burke vs. Sabu and Unnamed Despite his company, the mystery competitor carried himself well in this near-6 minute tag match. It certainly wasn’t bad by any means and would have been welcomed on the main show. It came to a close when Daniels tapped out to a Sharpshooter at the hands of the mystery man! Winners at 5:38 Sabu and Unnamed Rating: C Ted Dibiase Jr vs. Perry Saturn vs. Paul Burchill A short match that the fans didn’t care about, this is really the purpose of dark matches. Dibiase is still very green but putting him in the ring with a veteran like Saturn and a talent like Burchill can only help. The right result occurred here when Burchill pinned Ted Dibiase Jr after a C4. Winner at 4:15 Paul Burchill Rating: D+ Bryan Danielson vs. Mike Knox It was announced before the match that even though it was a dark match, it still counts towards the streak and will be recorded. It was just under 3 minutes, but a lack of chemistry was evident. That said, it was as good as expected with Danielson hitting a great Dragon Suplex for the win! Winner at 2:50 Bryan Danielson Rating: C- Styles: Welcome to E-C-****ing-W! I’m Joey Styles with Tazz, and boy does tonight’s show look great on paper! Tazz: It does, Joey! We’re kicking it off now with a huge Tag Team Four Way Dance with massive implications for the tag division here in the Land of Extreme. Styles: For those who don’t know, a Four Way Dance is under elimination rules. If the tag team champions don’t win this non-title contest, then we will be having one of their three opponents facing them for the titles next week. Obviously, whichever team wins gets the match. If Sandman and Balls get the job done, then they can choose any team from any brand. The teams are in the ring and ready so let’s await the opening bell. Non-title: ECW Xtreme Tag Team Champions Balls Mahoney and The Sandman vs. Alpha Monsters vs. Martin and Rave vs. 2nd City Saints & vs. & vs. & vs. & All four teams put in so much effort for the near-8 minute duration of this match, making it a very solid opener and proving that ECW’s tag division is comparatively strong. The first team eliminated were the Saints, when Abyss hit a Black Hole Slam on Cabana in the 3rd minute. A couple of minutes later, Mahoney and Sandman got the same treatment, leading to their elimination after a Double Black Hole Slam! At the end of the match, Abyss tried to bring a chain into the ring. With the ref distracted, Martin cracked Cor Von in the head with a kendo stick and Jimmy Rave rolled him up getting the win and the title match next week! Winners at 7:50 and NEW Number 1 Contenders to the ECW Xtreme Tag Titles Jimmy Rave and Alex Martin! Rating: C- A music video is shown to promote Kane. Rating: B- Sonjay Bhalla vs. Senshi Dragon vs. Despite similar styles and pasts, this match was limited to a brief 30-second exchange until Bhalla tapped out to the Dragon Clutch. A poor squash, the fans never really cared. Winner at 0:34 Senshi Dragon Rating: D The Ultimate Wrestling Champion makes his way to the ring to a huge ovation and it takes a while for the cheers and chants to die down enough so that he can start to speak. Punk: If you’ll allow me the time, I’d just like to take a few minutes to address the main event at Summerslam a week on Sunday. I could face either the Rated R Superstar Edge...I know, I know you guys don’t like him but I’m a fair man and he wanted a shot. I’ll face either Edge or Val Venis! There’s not a whole lot separating these two, and really I could realistically and believably be facing either of them at the Biggest Party of the Summer. I’m out here because the Evil Genius Paul Heyman stopped me on the way into the arena tonight and said “Look, Punk. Big match next Sunday- we need your thoughts. We’ve got you in the main event tonight instead of Kane-Mordecai-Shamrock, so how about you do something for us?” So exclusively on ECW, I’m going to give my thoughts on who I could face and what chance I’d stand. We’ve heard the accomplishments of each star so much I’m sure you’re bored of hearing them and could recite them from memory. One thing we haven’t explored is their form since Vengeance. Look, Edge- you think you DESERVE a match against me for this title? You LOST at Vengeance, but did win a 6-man tag match the next night on Raw. That said, if memory serves you didn’t even get the fall, that was Triple H? Then, the next week on Raw, Val Venis beat yourself and Ric Flair in a Triple Threat match! Val, the man you say you deserve a shot before, beat you 1-2-3. Then on Smackdown, ok, you got another tag win but yet again your partner got the fall for you. Edge, you’re in action next against Rob Van Dam and Val Venis, teaming with Rob Conway. I’d put big money on Conway getting the pinfall for the team, but to be honest I’m not sure if I see you winning tonight or a week on Sunday. Best of luck anyway...and Brock, we’re facing in the main event tonight. I’m determined to prove I’m not a paper champion, and you won’t beat me tonight. Rating: A Val Venis and Rob Van Dam vs. Edge and Rob Conway & vs. & Venis looked good in this match, and Edge came out of it looking really good as well. It was 7 and a half minutes of solid action, not as great as the two contenders are used to but that was more because the fans aren’t really into Conway yet. The heels got the clean win in the end with Punk’s prediction proving correct- Van Dam was pinned after a Whiplash, but not before Edge Speared both members of the team. Winners at 7:32 Rob Conway and Edge Rating: C+ Non-title: ECW Xtreme Champion Kane vs. Ken Shamrock vs. Mordecai vs. vs. A good match considering the amount of time it was given, it was an unusual blend of styles. Shamrock largely focused on the smaller Mordecai but Kane used his power to control the latter part of the match, beating both men down until he hit a Chokeslam on the former Xtreme champion for the win. Winner at 6:41 Kane Rating: B Non-title: WWE Ultimate Wrestling Champion CM Punk vs. Brock Lesnar vs. Like every time these two are in the ring together, no matter what the situation is, they put on an incredible match. They were given just over 8 minutes and ran with it, wrestling a fast-paced, exciting match. 8 minutes in, Brock went for an F-5 on the outside. Punk slipped off and in a great feat of strength got Lesnar up for the Go to Sleep! Brock slipped out and they both hit a clothesline at the same time, sending each other to the ground on the outside, unable to beat the count! CM Punk and Brock Lesnar drew at 8:20 following a Double Count-out Rating: A* FINAL RATING: B+ Success!

Pre-show: Pre-show Battle Royal This was a very solid exhibition to showcase a lot of talent. The final four was Daivari, Finlay, D’Lo Brown and Jushin Thunder Lyger. Lyger looked excellent through the 16 minutes of action, and eliminated Daivari 14 minutes in. In the 15th minute, Brown was taken out by a shillelagh shot leaving just Finlay and Lyger, two legends outside America. After just over a minute of solid mat-based action Finlay sent Lyger over with a clothesline, winning the match. Winner at 16:13 Finlay Rating: C- The show opens with Vince McMahon stood in the ring with a mic ready to speak. Vince: Welcome, ladies and gentlemen, to Friday Night Smackdown. I know you’re probably wondering what the hell is going on, so here it is. I’m here to make two match announcements that I’m surprised the general managers on Raw and Smackdown haven’t made yet regarding Summerslam. Gentlemen, you better get doing your jobs or you’ll be replaced! Haha! Only joking, but in all seriousness these matches need to be made. The first had its seeds planted the last 2 weeks on Smackdown. Randy Orton and Mike Tyson have beaten down Booker T two weeks in a row. The first saw some logic- Booker, you prevented Mr. Orton from getting the victory. They should have destroyed you in the handicap match last week. That said, you survived the match and even won it, but got beaten down after it. Teddy Long, you should have been out there right after to capitalise on this, but alas I’ve got to do everything myself around here! Most have you have probably guessed where this is going- see Teddy, it’s elementary stuff. At Summerslam this will see it’s end. Randy Orton...you will face Booker T one-on-one...with Mike Tyson at ringside, of course. Booker, as a warm-up, because Randy’s already in action, you’ve got a match tonight, in the main event. You’ll be facing a potential Number One Contender...Edge! The second match I have to announce is another inter-brand match, this time for Summerslam. We’ve seen on Raw a developing situation between Johnny Nitro and the Nature Boy Ric Flair. They both think they’re better than the other, and Nitro wants to prove he can hang in the main event. Last week on Smackdown, Christian said he wouldn’t stop until he “knocked Batista out cold”. Well, I’m going to give him that chance. We have three match spots left for Summerslam, so it would be easy to just make two singles matches- Batista vs. Christian...and Ric Flair versus Johnny Nitro! But, that’d be easy and boring. What I think we all want to see is Raw and Smackdown teaming up...against Raw and Smackdown. Four of the best getting a rare chance to match-up. At Summerslam it will be...Christian and the Nature Boy Ric Flair...teaming up against...Johnny Nitro and the Animal Batista! Eric, Steve, Teddy...thank me later...oh and next week, Raw comes to Smackdown. Flair and Nitro can...Pick their Poison! That’s next week, but tonight...they’re facing off, one-on-one! Enjoy the show. Rating: B Cruiserweight Title Match: WWE Cruiserweight Champion Brian Kendrick vs. Mark Briscoe vs. B-Boy vs. Ted Hart vs. vs. vs. This was a fast-paced, brilliantly executed match but it completely failed because the fans have no interest in three of the four. It was 5 and a half minutes, but the fans had lost interest by the 2nd. Kendrick thankfully got the win to retain his title with the Sliced Bread No. 2 on B-Boy. Winner at 5:37 and STILL WWE Cruiserweight Champion Brian Kendrick! Rating: D Mister...KENNEDY...Kennedy. Not surprisingly, Ken Kennedy’s out next for his match with Val Venis. Also not a surprise is the mic dropping from the roof of the arena, because Kennedy has something to say. Kennedy: Shush...shush...thank you. Now that I have everyone’s attention, can I just announce that the man in the centre of the ring weighs in at a godly 244 pounds...and he hails from...Green Bay...Wisconsin! You’ve learnt to love him...shut the hell up and stop booing, you know it’s true. Now it’s time to see why. That man is...Mister...KENNEDY! ...Kennedy! I’m facing a potential Number 1 Contender next and Val...I don’t think you really have what it takes. I’m a former US Champion and just a hell of a competitor. You’ve done a lot, but this is MY turf...I defeated The Undertaker in his last match as a Smackdown-exclusive superstar on the first show of the year. One constant on Smackdown is ME, which is why Jushin Thunder Lyger is relegated to the pre-show just over a week from our match and I’M wrestling the...arguable best...Raw has to offer. Lyger, you can’t beat me and I’m going to show you why. If I don’t beat you this Sunday, then that’s the day I’m worse than you and that’s the day I’m no longer...MISTER KENNEDY......... HELLO LADIES! Rating: B Venis interrupts Kennedy and makes his way to the ring for their match. vs. For some reason this just didn’t go down very well. They went for 7 minutes but wrestled a fairly by-the-numbers match that didn’t do much to capture the imagination. Venis beat Kennedy on his home turf in the end, gaining momentum for himself heading into his match with Edge and a possible World Title match at Summerslam but harming Kennedy’s chances in his match with Lyger in just over a week. The Money Shot ended it 7 minutes in. Winner at 6:59 Val Venis Rating: C Venis is celebrating his win, but out of nowhere he’s hit from behind by Edge who starts to lay into him on the ground. Kennedy gets to his feet and joins the attack, until the pair hit a Double Spear on Val! They then get a chair each from ringside and slip back in before hitting a Con-chair-to! Kennedy slides a chair under his skull as Edge backs away holding his chair high above his head. Just as he goes to swing, Punk leaps the barrier and grabs the chair from behind and smacks Edge with it. The champ gets into the ring and chases off Venis’ attacks with the chair before helping him up. Rating: B Non-title: WWE United States and Tag Team Champion Paul London vs. Chris Masters vs. Masters was off his game tonight, and the two didn’t click at all which showed in this 3-minute match. It went largely as expected, with Masters working the power game to counter the high-flying style of the champ. Surprisingly, London was rolled up by the Masterpiece and a handful of tights secured the shock-win over the double champion in this poor match. Winner at 3:31 Chris Masters! Rating: D A replay of the match is showing when white noise cuts it off and the screen shows a graveyard. The camera finds a grave that has just been dug, and inside are briefcases with “Smackdown”, “Raw”, “ECW” and “WWE” on them. Suddenly, a bolt of lightning strikes the grave and the cases burst into flames. Rating: B Non-title: WWE Ultimate Wrestling Champion CM Punk vs. William Regal vs. Randy Orton vs. Bobby Lashley vs. vs. (w/) vs. Punk had his work cut out for him against three of Smackdown’s top heels in this brilliant Fatal Four Way. However, it really was every man for himself and Punk secured the win 10 minutes in with the Go to Sleep on William Regal. Winner at 10:19 CM Punk Rating: B+ Batista makes his way to the ring for his tag team match up next. Before his partner and Summerslam opponent can make his way out, though, the Animal has something to say. Batista: Up next is a match that shows how things should be done. Vince, with all due respect, Smackdown doesn’t need Raw to hamper its impact. We’re the best brand in the world with many of us being the brightest star, although the fans can’t really make the same claim. Another few people who can’t are the people involved in my match up next. You see, Christian actually thinks he’ll get a chance to knock me out. Christian, you actually believe that? I don’t care who’s involved- whenever we’re in the ring, I’m going to assume you want a piece of me and I’ll assume that makes me a caged animal, backed into a corner. Christian, I’m at my BEST when I’m caged, when I’m cornered. I don’t care who gets in my way in the ring tonight, whether it’s you, little Rey-Rey who really doesn’t have the strength to deserve to be in this business, let alone just in the ring with me, or John Cena. Cena, we’ve never had any huge issues aside from a little spat at the beginning of the year but I really don’t give a crap. I’m the Animal and the Predator, and tonight you and Rey are in my cage. If we’re still running with that metaphor...I’ve not eaten yet. You two had better watch out and Christian- no Animal wants to hunt as a team. Tonight I’m working alone, so just stand on the apron and get some rest because in 8 days... you’ll wish you had that opportunity. Rating: A Batista and Christian vs. Rey Mysterio and John Cena & vs. & Batista does begin the match for his team, but after 6 minutes backs into his corner to prepare for a Spear to end his domination of Rey and Cena. Just as he starts to run, Christian claps next to his back. Batista turns and argues, thinking he’s been blind tagged. After an argument, he turns into a Drop Toe Hold and a 619! Christian does get the blind tag once Batista is kicked across the ring and gets a look into the action. From here it’s fairly even until Batista spins his “partner” around and hits a Spinebuster. He drags him to the corner and tags himself in before fighting again with Cena. A Batista Bomb later, it’s all over and Batista is standing tall. The match was largely focused on Batista and Christian, but Cena and Rey showed no team work either in this phenomenally booked contest. Winners at 11:32 Batista and Christian Rating: A* Montel Vontavious Porter vs. Chris Hero vs. This was a brief albeit average contest. Hero is tipped to be a decent force in the WWE in the future and MVP has largely floundered since his brief involvement in the US Title scene a few months ago, which is why it was meant to be a small surprise when (after an even affair) MVP got the win with the Ballin’ Elbow. Winner at 3:57 Montel Vontavious Porter Rating: C- A video plays hyping Flair and Christian vs. Nitro and Batista. The Raw Exhibition Match is next! Rating: B+ Raw Exhibition: Ric Flair vs. Johnny Nitro vs. These two have quickly developed a fairly fierce rivalry with some passionate promos, and this match certainly delivered and would have been welcome on the Summerslam card. It was only 7 minutes but was a great contest, showing that Flair can still go and that Nitro can hang with the best in this business. Eventually, Flair rolled Nitro up out of nowhere for the out-of-nowhere victory! Winner at 6:53 Ric Flair Rating: B+ You think you know me...Raw’s Rated R Superstar is out first for his match with Booker T. Like Batista earlier, Edge has something to say before his opponent comes out. Edge: My opponent tonight is a cretin and deserves nothing of my time. I can say the same for our Ultimate Wrestling Champion, but I think I should just make it clear that I WILL be beating Val Venis at Summerslam and I will get a shot at the Ultimate Wrestling Championship. In fact, this coming Monday night on Raw, I’m facing Chris Jericho, the less talented Canadian- which still means he’s better than all of you. I’m going to make an example of Jericho and show that I am owed this title match. I’ve waited MONTHS for my chance, after beating the best Raw has to offer to earn a shot that Punk stole off me in the first place. Punk, thanks to you I never got my chance at the gold. I’m going to win tonight, then again on Raw and then twice at Summerslam because I’m the Rated R Superstar and I WILL BE the 4th Ultimate Wrestling Champion in history. Ok production idiots, roll out the jackass. Rating: B+ Booker T comes out looking enraged at Edge’s dismissal of him. The ref rings the bell and the contest begins. vs. These two had pretty good chemistry which turned this into a legendary main event that will be remembered for months, if not years. They had an amazing 15-minute contest that was full of emotion (which is a great achievement considering it has no build). Edge went for the Spear in the 12th minute but just before the ref could count, Tyson distracted the ref. Edge looked confused until Orton got into the ring and hoisted up Booker for an RKO. The pair stood at ringside as the ref turned around but Edge lifted up Booker and hit the Edgecution. The ref was again distracted as Orton told Edge that he wanted to cost Booker the win. Edge said he wanted to win himself, and this led to an RKO on him too! The two left again, this time up to the top of the ramp. Booker T and Edge slowly struggled to their feet, but a Scissors Kick out of nowhere secured the win and made Orton and Tyson, mouths wide open in surprise, our final image of the evening. Winner at 14:54 Booker T! Rating: A* FINAL RATING: B Success!
