Tazz, this man Abyss, accompanied by the legendary Bobby “The Brain” Heenan, has to face The Undertaker tonight! That match isn’t until later on, but The Brain looks like he’s got something to say! Heenan: Ok, my client- the monster Abyss- has to face an Abyss-rip-off that is The Undertaker! Now, don’t give me any crap about Undertaker having done this for the last 2 decades…well, Abyss has been doing the whole mysterious monster thing since he was born! He came out of his mother’s fiery womb with a black leather mask on, and he chokeslammed one doctor and gave the mid-wife a Black Hole Slam! Undertaker…I promise you that my client will win tonight. For a title match in which this finds the first-ever team to hold the belts, this was disgustingly short. In less than two minutes, the originals picked up the win when Mahoney hit a Nutcracker Suite on Martin. Winners at 1:48 and NEW ECW Xtreme Tag Team Champions Balls Mahoney and The Sandman Rating: D- WWE Ultimate Wrestling Champion The Undertaker is shown backstage in a dark room. They wrestled for just under 10 minutes, combining martial arts, brawling and technical wrestling to create a well-oiled match. In the end, Brock Lesnar F-5’d Tajiri through a table, drawing the disqualification. Winner at 9:54 and STILL ECW Xtreme Champion Tajiri Rating: B Tajiri is barely up on his feet when Brock Lesnar attacked with the steel chair. He starts to lay into the champ, but Undertaker charged to the ring and saved him. He went to Chokeslam Lesnar, but Ted Dibiase low blowed Undertaker, and he and his client escaped through the crowd. The two brawled for nearly 11 minutes, until Brock Lesnar charged to the ring and attacked The Undertaker. The ref called for the bell, and the second title match of the evening ended in a disqualification. Winner at 10:49 and STILL WWE Ultimate Wrestling Champion The Undertaker Rating: C- A video plays hyping The Boogeyman vs. Mordecai. Mordecai largely dominated, although Boogey got brief bursts of offence. In the 6th minute, Mordecai hit a Crucifixion off the top rope and picked up the win. Winner at 6:55 Mordecai Rating: C- FINAL: C

The Sandman was late for the 2nd time in 6 days, and has been given a 1-week suspension. WCW have sent contract offers to Rey Mysterio and Kevin “Mordecai” Fertig. WWE are apparently keen to keep both stars. Smackdown Preview:After taking a match with US Champion William Regal instead of taking part in a WWE Tag Team Title match last week, Brian Kendrick will be getting another shot with his partner Paul London, as they take on Deuce ‘n’ Domino. Can they get back on track and coexist, or will there be some friction after last week? Kane beat Ken Kennedy last week, and Booker T lost in a tag team contest to Batista, after Bobby Lashley turned on Booker, costing his team the match. Tonight, Booker T and Kane’s paths intertwine, as they team up to take on Batista and the ****y Mr. Ken Kennedy. Rey Mysterio will face off against former friend, now bad-guy, Bobby Lashley. Will Booker T want some revenge, or will this be a fair, good athletic contest? CM Punk and Christian were taken out last week by US Champion William Regal and his momentary allies Montel Vontavious Porter and Finlay. After being shot down as not worthy to challenge for the title, the pair apparently have been asking Vince McMahon to give them a chance to prove it their worth. McMahon has made the match; at Backlash, CM Punk and Christian will be in a Triple Threat Match against the last-ever WWE Champion John Cena. The winner will go on to Judgement Day, to face the winner of a similar contest at Backlash involving Raw superstars. The winner of that is the Number 1 Contender for the title. The Raw match will be announced this week on the premier show on Monday Nights! In a warm-up match tonight, CM Punk must take on Christian and John Cena in a handicap match! In Smackdown’s main event, The Undertaker will face the man who attacked him on ECW this week, Brock Lesnar. The Undertaker has been attacked recently by a man in a black mask, and both Brock Lesnar and Randy Orton have been seen with such a mask. Can Undertaker beat Lesnar in non-title action this week on Smackdown, and find out once and for all the identity of his attacker? Tune in to find out!

In tonight’s main event, this man CM Punk is in action. Let’s see what he has to say! By this point CM Punk is in the ring, with a mic. Punk: Contrary to what you all must be thinking, I’m not concerned about tonight’s match. I’m not worrying about it…I’m delighted. I live for the heat of competition- it is my only addiction. At Backlash, I’m taking on John Cena…and Christian in a Triple Threat match. If I win that, I get to fight in a Number 1 Contender match for the WWE Ultimate Wrestling Title, at Judgement Day. My opponent, like myself, will be the BEST on his brand, Monday Night Raw. It’s not as simple as just pinning one man though. Because tonight, for whatever reason, I’m facing my two Backlash opponents…in a handicap match! I may not think it’s fair, I may not think it is right…but what I do KNOW is that this is what I live for- a challenge. Cena…Christian…tonight, Smackdown cleans up its act- we’re going Straight Edge! Rating: B+ We cut backstage, where Paul London and Brian Kendrick are warming up. London: Dude, I’m sort of glad I didn’t win the titles last week. I mean, tonight we’ve got yet another shot, together, to become WWE Tag Team Champions! At last, Brian Kendrick and Paul London…back on top! I know last week was a bit…ok, I didn’t agree with you taking the match, but you’re commit- The United States Champion William Regal walks into their locker room. Regal: Brian, my boy. Up next, you’ve got a chance of a life time! Now just think, if you and Paul win this contest, you are one half of the WWE Tag Team Champions! Think ahead to Backlash. If you accept the open challenge to face Finlay, you could win that match and get a title shot against me and Judgement Day. You could be a double champion! I’ve been watching you, and you did well for yourself last week, somehow defeating me in non-title action. So, sunshine…good luck out there tonight, and think about the offer on the table. Brian Kendrick…WWE Tag Team and United States Champion! Of course, you I doubt you could be me OR Finlay… Rating: C WWE Tag Team Title Match: WWE Tag Team Champions Deuce ‘n’ Domino vs. Paul London and Brian Kendrick & vs. & The match was average, and sadly quite short. There was no tension at all between London and Kendrick, who worked as a cohesive unit from bell to bell. Deuce and Domino got in large amounts of offence throughout, and the back-and-forth contest ended just over 5 and a half minutes in when Deuce…fell victim to a Get Well Soon by Paul London! After about 4 months with the belts, and defending the titles against London and Kendrick (and Shannon Moore) 3 times this year, Deuce ‘n’ Domino finally fell! Winners at 5:33 and NEW WWE Tag Team Champions Paul London and Brian Kendrick Rating: C+ Kendrick: Yes! At last, we did it, Paul! You got your 3rd tag team title, your 2nd with me. I’m now a 2-time WWE Tag Team Champion, you’re a 3-time Tag Team Champ. By the way…congratulations Paul! You’ve just begun your forth title reign in this company. Remember folks, this is a former Cruiserweight Champion! To further cement us as the most dominant team in history, I feel we should both have held singles titles in this company. So, Finlay…see you at Backlash! Rating: B- London: Whoa! What are you doing man? We just won the tag team titles after all this time, and you’re looking straight at the United States Title! Kendrick: Exactly! We’re WWE Tag Team Champions! This will be better for our image, better for you! You’d be pairing with the US Champion! Aaaaaand…you could even with the Ultimate Wrestling Title! Or the Cruiserweight! Or-or-or! Even better dude…you could be on Raw as well, and win the IC title from Shane! The world’s our oyster! London doesn’t look too pleased, but the new champs embrace and leave the ring celebrating. Rating: C Rey Mysterio vs. Bobby Lashley vs. Lashley was off his game, but despite that and the huge contrasts in size and style, the match was decent. It went on for nearly 8 minutes, ending when Booker T charged to the ring and took Lashley out with a steel chair, surely revenge for last week when Bobby turned on Booker in their tag match. Winner at 7:43 by DQ Bobby Lashley Rating: B- Cole: Well this is a shock! After the incredible bombshell dropped this past Monday on Raw, why is Randy Orton here? JBL: Michael, on Raw we saw Randy Orton putting on a black mask, and we’re sure he’s the masked mystery stalker! However, someone ELSE was in the ring attacking The Undertaker. Orton: Undertaker…you got me! I’m ONE of these masked men. But, as you saw on Monday…there were two of us. Tonight, I’m here, no need to worry about any cheap-shots. But champ…you think you’ve had it bad? You think the mind games have even started yet? You haven’t seen a damn thing yet, Taker. Just wait and see! I promise you that two things will happen tonight. Number one, you will get the shock of your life, and I guarantee another twist will be added to this tale. It is a tale of deceit, but also one of triumph. Which leads me to the next thing to occur tonight; Vince McMahon is in the building, and will be in this very ring, later on tonight, to make a huge announcement. Undertaker, by the end of this show you’ll be confused and worried. You will WISH you could Rest…In…Peace! Rating: A Kane and Booker T vs. Batista and Ken Kennedy & vs. & The match was decent, lasting a good amount of time for its position on the card. During the match, the ref was distracted by Batista. Suddenly, Bobby Lashley charged to the ring and took out Booker T with a massive Spear, before high-tailing it through the crowd, unseen by the referee. A few minutes later, Kane hit Ken Kennedy with a Chokeslam, picking up an impressive win. Winners at 10:36 Kane and Booker T Rating: B- Lashley has run back to the ring, and the five begin to brawl. Mysterio runs out to even the odds. They’re interrupted by the music of GM Theodore Long. Long: Stop that right now…just stop! Ok, I’m sick of all the interference and the cheap-shots. It’s chaos, and it’s not befitting of the greatest show on earth. So, here’s how it’s all going down. Kane and Batista…you have history. Lashley and Booker…as do you. Ken Kennedy and Rey Mysterio…you’ve found yourself in the cross-fire. Playas, at Backlash it will be…Bobby Lashley, Ken Kennedy and Batista…teaming up to face…Rey Mysterio, Booker T…and Kane! They say that Styles has known Abercrombie for a while, and wanted to give him a shot at the big time. The match itself was a 2-minute squash match, ending in a Spiral Tap for the win. Winner at 1:48 and STILL WWE Cruiserweight Champion Jack Styles Rating: D- We cut backstage, where John Cena and Christian are standing by, each with a mic. Going on for a good quarter of an hour, it was an all-out fight. The two traded punches and kicks before moving onto some solid wrestling. It was a good match that was slowly built up to the climax, which came when Lesnar was defeated with a Tombstone Piledriver. Winner at 14:35 The Undertaker Rating: B+ After the match, Lesnar hits Undertaker with a chair. Suddenly, the masked man runs to the ring again! They both beat Undertaker down. Cole: Dammit! Orton said no more cheap-shots, but here he is, hiding behind a mask again! JBL: I believe Orton- this isn’t him Michael. Cole: Well, based on this saga so far, I’m saying it’s either Lesnar or Orton. Lesnar is in the ring, and that masked man…damn! He just hit an RKO! But wait! Randy Orton has charged to the ring! He took over, hitting Undertaker with 4 RKO’s onto the steel chair. Rating: B Vince McMahon comes out, in the middle of the beat-down. Because this man…the newest member of The Corporation…is actually your new Number 1 Contender. Not only has he out-smarted you thus far this month, it ain’t over! He has the protection of the McMahon family, and access to our resources! He can do whatever he wants, bring in whoever he wants! And when he defeats you for the Ultimate Wrestling Championship…well, it’s yet another title that Chris Jericho can’t fight for. And don’t boo, because as always, I’m being a smart business man. Taker, for Orton- this is personal. For you…this is damn personal. For Shane McMahon…this is another shot at Jericho- it’s all for the purpose of the big picture. For me…this is just business. I won’t get the chance to say this next month, so here we go- good luck, champ! Rating: B+ CM Punk vs. John Cena and Christian vs. & Disappointingly, CM Punk had his one off-night in forever, bringing this match down quite a bit. Although it was a poor end to the show, it wasn’t a terrible contest. Punk was battered by Christian and Cena in the early goings, but came back with a good burst of offence in the middle 5 minutes. The final 5 minutes of the match was full of near-falls, ending when Cena was pinned following a Go to Sleep! Winner at 15:36 CM Punk Rating: C+ FINAL: B-, success

Pre-show: Hardcore Holly vs. Robbie Brookside This showed that Holly has a lot of ring rust, although to be fair he and Robbie didn’t click anyway. He takes a candle from each one, and places it in the shape of his cross. He then goes round, lighting each one. He signals again, and the lights cut out. Orchestral music begins to play, dark and depressing. After a few moments, there is a flash, and standing in front of the titan tron is Undertaker’s cross, burning. The lights cut out once more, and when they rise for the final time, the cross has gone! Rating: B+ JR: Well that was just weird! Anyway folks, Raw is kicking off with a 6-man tag match! No, it’s not Triple H, sorry. It’s…the Nature Boy Ric Flair! But hey, you already knew that. My other partner…well, he’s a very recent RE-addition to the Raw roster. Unbeknownst to our General Manager Eric Bischoff, the Board of Directors has made a slight…alteration to my other partner’s contract. This partner’s contract, as of last week, belonged PARTLY to Bischoff, partly to the CEO of WWE, Linda McMahon. This, my billions of Jerichoholics, is the greatest interview segment on earth…the Highlight Reel! I am your host, Y2J Chris Jericho! Now, let me introduce my guest. I chose this man to come onto the show tonight because well…he’s said in the past he’s a fighting champion. He’s a current champion here in the WWE! He’s part of one of the greatest families in pro wrestling history. And, for safety’s sake, if he lays a hand on me in this segment…he’s suspended and stripped of the title, by order of Stone Cold Steve Austin! So, my special guest…Shane McMahon! But to be honest Shane…you’re the biggest pile of **** ever to grace the squared circle. You’re a cowardly, weak, manipulative piece of crap who needs a full army to protect him. I don’t give a damn what you have to say, so don’t even try and speak, ass-clown! I’ve got news for you…you’re in a match right now, for that Intercontinental Title, by order of Steve Austin! Shane: Whoa! I’m not defending this right now! I can’t defend it against you, you know the rules Chris! You can’t have a shot at any title any- Jericho: WOULD YOU PLEASE…SHUT THE HELL UP! I’m not facing you you yellow bastard. No, you’re defending your title against a friend. Well, not even a friend- someone you’re just using to keep me away. Meet your opponent…he’s a member of the Corporation…The Great Khali. And don’t even think you’re getting an easy fight, because his job is on the line! You win, he’s fired. You lose, you’re no longer champion! Title vs. Job Match: IC Champion Shane McMahon vs. The Great Khali vs. The match wasn’t that great at all, as the fans interest in Khali has been completely crushed this year. Khali was made to look awful in this, as Shane won the match in less than 4 minutes with a Flying Elbow. Winner at 3:35 and STILL WWE Intercontinental Champion Shane McMahon (The Great Khali is fired) Rating: C- I’m Back! Co-GM of Raw Eric Bischoff makes his way to the ring. Bischoff: Last week, Steve Austin lost a match that passed over any part of his contract that HE owned, to me. *What!* Austin, *What!* I know you thought you were really smart, *What!* not telling me *What!* that the Board *What!* owns half of your contract. *What!* So, once again *What!* it’s Austin vs. Bischoff, *What!* Steve vs. Eric *What!*…True GM vs. Has-been. *What!* Austin *What!*…look, would you all please shut your goddamn mouths! I promoted WCW*What!*. Shut the hell up, I’m a legend in the business as a PROMOTER, general manager…hell, I’m just the best authority figure period. You…you can’t wrestle anymore, and just to piss me off, you’re now co-GM once again. Well, I’m out here tonight to up-stage you. Sure, you won a match tonight, but guess what- our job is to MAKE matches Austin. It’s been announced that at Backlash next Sunday there will be a Triple Threat Match for both Raw and Smackdown. The winners from each brand will take each other on in a Number 1 Contenders Match at a future date. It is my pleasure and honour to be the one to book Raw’s qualification match at Backlash. Firstly, the legendary Saviour…Y2J Chris Jericho! He’s going to take on one of the best stars in our business. In fact, he’s THE Rated R Superstar…Edge. Now, their final opponent…he’s a man with a great name that reminds us all of great successes in this business. The final competitor and my pick for winner…Johnny Nitro! See you at Backlash, bitch! Rating: B+ JR: Whilst this is being set up, let me explain these rules. On each corner of this 15-foot steel cage is a platform. On two opposite corners, there is a flag. To win the match, you get to your opponents platform, grab your flag and escape over the cage in YOUR corner. This is a first-ever not only in WWE but in the entire world of wrestling. This should be great! First-Ever Scramble Cage Flag Match: vs. Whilst not great, it was ok. WWE could’ve built this up so much more and put it on PPV, but it was a nice treat for the TV audience. It went on for nearly 10 minutes, and the best spot was right at the end. Charlie Haas was sent down with a Twist of Fate. Jeff climbed the cage and got onto Haas’ platform and grabbed his flag. He motions, looking for the Swanton Bomb! However, Haas rolls out of the way and stands towards the middle of the ring, looking pleased at having avoided a certain loss. Jeff walked across the thin top of the cage and hit an incredible Whisper in the Wind, just as Charlie turned around! Hardy scaled the top rope and hit a Swanton Bomb, then climbed onto his platform, over the cage and to the floor below. Winner at 9:33 Jeff Hardy Rating: C+ The cage is raised, and Haas is still down. The paramedics rush out and roll him steadily onto a stretcher. His partner and other half of the World Tag Team Champions Shelton Benjamin runs down. He starts screaming, nearly in tears. He’s not got a mic, so only a few bits can be made out. The general gist is “No! Charlie! Please, God, be alright! Why has this happened! I’m sorry I wasn’t there to help!” He runs to the ring and grabs a mic. Benjamin: Jeff! Jeff Hardy! How the hell could you do something like that to my partner…my compadre…my friend, my best…friend Charlie Haas! Hardy…watch your back because, dammit, you’re going down! You’re gonna be punished for what you’ve done to the incredible Charlie Haas! Rating: C Randy Orton is shown in his locker room, slipping a black mask on. Suddenly, Undertaker charges into view and begins to attack the number one contender. He lays into him with right after right, busting him open. He hits a Last Ride into the lockers, before Chokeslamming him through the bench! Rating: B+ Val Venis vs. Johnny Nitro vs. This was a decent match, going on nearly 8 minutes. The two traded offence and both looked like winning, with several near falls. In the end, Venis hit a Spinebuster, and climbed to the top, teasing the Money Shot. Before he had the chance, Umaga had hit the ring, and smacked Venis with the Samoan Spike, sending him off the top rope and onto the mat outside. Winner at 7:58 by DQ Val Venis Rating: B JR: My God! Dammit, Venis won at Wrestlemania, this should be over, done and dusted! But Umaga is still laying into Val and…good lord! Another Samoan Spike and now a Samoan Drop into the security barrier! Umaga drags him over to the announce table, and lays him on it. The Samoan Bulldozer climbs onto the apron and looks ready to pounce! Suddenly, he’s sent flying off the apron by…The Rock! Rocky sends Umaga flying with a chair shot. The Rock begins to lay into Umaga, and as the monster fights back, Estrada drags him up the ramp. Rock: Whoa! Ok, get Val Venis backstage and under care. Umaga, get back in the ring, we’re gonna fight again! Rating: A Umaga walks down the ramp and a ref runs into the ring. vs. These two put on another incredible performance that kept the fans happy and involved. After just over 7 minutes, The Rock went for the Rock Bottom, but Umaga popped him in the neck with a Samoan Spike for the win. Winner at 7:37 Umaga Rating: A You think you know me? The Rated R Superstar Edge makes his way to the ring. Before Chris Jericho makes his entrance, Edge has something to say. Edge: Shut up! Just shut up and listen to…greatness. I am the Rated R Superstar, and up next I get a chance to beat down and weaken one of two men who I will face at Backlash. It’s funny, but this match could be the most important of my career! I get to weaken and batter Chris Jericho, harming his chances at Backlash and increasing my own! It’s much easier to beat someone with one leg, or a damaged spine. So as a result of what I’m gonna do to Y2Just quit already. Yeah, I said it…ooooh, I insulted your hero Chris Jericho. GET OVER IT! Anyway, I’ll only have to face a soon-to-be-injured man and a stupid, dare I say, ass-clown who thinks he’s all that. Well, news-flash…I’M ALL THAT! Rating: B+ Edge vs. Chris Jericho vs. This was an incredible match by two extremely talented superstars. Edge took control in the early stages of the contest with a headlock takedown, but Jericho slipped out and went for the cover, getting a 1-count. Chris began to build momentum, hitting running forearms and spinning wheel kicks. By the 6th minute, Edge was on top after he hit a top rope Spear on Y2J, but he only managed to get 2-count. Three minutes later, Jericho locked in the Walls of Jericho, whilst shouting “It’s much easier to beat someone with one leg or a damaged spine!” Moments later, Edge tapped out. Winner at 9:42 Chris Jericho Rating: A* The Undertaker and Shawn Michaels vs. Randy Orton and Brock Lesnar & vs. & The match was a let-down after the incredible penultimate contest, but still not a bad match by any means. It lasted nearly 13 minutes, and all 4 men got a good load of offence in. Orton beat down The Undertaker and hit the RKO on the outside right near the end, just as Brock Lesnar hit the F-5 on HBK to win the match. Winners at 12:41 Randy Orton and Brock Lesnar Rating: B Lesnar and Orton begin to attack the champ and HBK after the bell, rolling them into the ring. Ted Dibiase grabbed a chair from ringside and brought it in. He gave it to Orton, and began to direct traffic. Orton smashed the steel chair into Shawn Michaels’ skull, as Brock Lesnar hit a huge Powerbomb on The Undertaker into the turnbuckle. Orton goes to punt Undertaker in the head, but the champ grabs his foot and then his throat. Orton goes down with a Chokeslam, and Lesnar is put between Taker’s legs, who signals for the Last Ride. He hoists him onto his shoulders, and HBK hits the Sweet Chin Music, giving Undertaker the momentum to send Brock to the mat. The two stand tall, Undertaker doing the cut-throat motion at Orton, as Shawn Michaels does the crotch-chop over Lesnar’s unconscious body. Rating: B+ FINAL: B+, Austin was used too much but the show was still a huge success!

This opening contest was meant to be for the ECW Xtreme Tag Team Titles, but the new and first-ever champions The Sandman and Balls Mahoney cannot team tonight. Sandman was late to the show last week, and has been suspended from competing in tonight’s show. So, the match is now non-title, and will see Balls Mahoney ALONE taking on…D’Lo Brown and Bryan Danielson. ECW Xtreme Tag Team Champion Balls Mahoney vs. Bryan Danielson and D’Lo Brown vs. & It was a terrible contest, and the fans weren’t really into it at all. Balls didn’t get much offence in, and the numbers game was too much. Just over 3 and a half minutes in, Danielson rolled up Mahoney with a handful of tights for the cheap albeit shocking win. Winners at 3:35 Bryan Danielson and D’Lo Brown Rating: D We cut backstage where Mick Foley is standing by! Foley: Hello ECW! Mick Foley here, best selling author. Without further ado, please welcome my guest at this time…Brock Lesnar! Brock, why did you ask for this interview time? Brock: Because I want to make an impact. I’m a free agent, and I want to make a statement on all three brands. So tonight…I’m challenging ECW Icon Rob Van Dam to a match. No need to tell me if you accept or not, just be in the ring. Rating: B- Hardcore Holly vs. Santino Marella vs. This was a squash match. Holly dominated and beat Marella with the Alabama Slam. Oh how the “mighty” have fallen- in his only other televised match of the year, he walked in as Intercontinental Champion, but walked out without it. He’s not been seen since, and now the former champ gets buried in under 2 minutes. Winner at 1:58 Hardcore Holly Rating: D- Mordecai is backstage with a mic. Mordecai: The story is near its culmination. I’ve begun to cleanse ECW. I beat Tommy Dreamer, then transformed. I want to save you all, by ridding your entertainment of the filth. Tajiri…I’ve beaten you once in singles action, and I’ll do it again. Because…champion…if I once again overcome you, I get to do it again, at Judgement Day…for the ECW Xtreme Championship, in a Casket Match! Rating: C The Boogeyman is in the ring waiting to see who his opponent is…it’s Randy Orton! vs. The two put on an ok showing, but Boogey was really off his game tonight. Surprisingly, Orton of all people carried this to a decent enough standard. The two brawled for over 5 minutes until Orton it the RKO out of nowhere, getting the win. Winner at 6:38 Randy Orton Rating: B- A video plays showing all that has happened between Randy Orton and The Undertaker, including the masked men. The video says that on Raw a higher power will be revealed as the mastermind behind it all. It says that this man is back for good, and will join the Corporation, as the bodyguard and manager of Randy Orton. All will be revealed…on Raw! After nearly 6 minutes of intense, back-and-forth action, Mordecai hit the Crucifixion and picked up the win. Now, at Judgement Day it will be Mordecai vs. Tajiri in a Casket Match for the ECW Xtreme Championship. Winner at 5:50 Mordecai Rating: B Brock Lesnar vs. Rob Van Dam vs. This match was actually incredible, showing that Van Dam can really go, with the right opponent. The two fought for over 10 minutes, and it was just great. Van Dam hit all his big moves, until he placed a chair on Lesnar. He climbed to the top rope and went to hit the 5 Star Frog Splash. Just before he hit it, Lesnar threw the chair into his body, causing the ref to ring the bell for the DQ. Winner at 10:21 Rob Van Dam Rating: B+ FINAL RATING: B-

WWE Time To Play The Game..........Returns! Ok, not been gone that long, but it's not like that took me more than 5 seconds to type in. Anyway, here we go: Pre-show: Steve Corino vs. Jimmy Wang Yang The two put on a match that was better-received than expected. Corino’s offence wasn’t pretty, but it gelled well with Wang Yang’s high-flying styled attacks. Just under 2 minutes in, Jimmy hit the Moonsault, picking up the win. Winner at 1:46 Jimmy Wang Yang Rating: C- Funaki, “Ace” Chris Colton and Robbie Brookside vs. Daivari, Jamie Noble and “Lethal” Jay Shipman The match was quite good for a dark match, and gave Brookside some more exposure. The 6 men battled for nearly 6 minutes, and it seemed that they were given free reign to do whatever moves they thought would get the crowd into the match. In the end, Brookside won the match for his team with a German Suplex on Shipman. Winners at 5:55 Robbie Brookside, Funaki and “Ace” Chris Colton Rating: D Cole: Welcome, ladies and gentlemen, to Friday Night Smackdown! I’m Michael Cole alongside former World Champion John “Bradshaw” Layfield. JBL: Here we go Michael! We’re kicking this off with the Number 1 Contender to the WWE Ultimate Wrestling Championship. Here he comes, the Legend Killer, the ONLY man to successfully play mind games with The Undertaker…here he is…Randy Orton! Orton: Thank you, thank you. Wow, everyone is butch here tonight…that’s a very low-pitched “wooo” right there. You all saw the video on ECW this past Tuesday. In case you somehow missed it…take a look: A video plays showing all that has happened between Randy Orton and The Undertaker, including the masked men. The video says that on Raw a higher power will be revealed as the mastermind behind it all. It says that this man is back for good, and will join the Corporation, as the bodyguard and manager of Randy Orton. All will be revealed…on Raw! Orton (applauding): He will be revealed this Monday night on Raw. Then, in just 9 days time, I’ll defeat The Undertaker and take my place in history as the youngest WWE Ultimate Wrestling Champion! Taker, we don’t need stipulations, no caskets, fire or artificial graves. No, it’s just going to be two men going into that squared circle and beating the holy crap out of each other with a common goal- the Ultimate Wrestling Championship! I’ll win that match, I’m going to kick your ass and, once and for all, kill the legend of The Undertaker. Rating: A Non-title: WWE Cruiserweight Champion Jack Styles vs. Montel Vontavious Porter vs. Brian Kendrick vs. Chavo Guerrero vs. vs. vs. This match wasn’t anything exceptional, but still a decent opener. The four stars fought for nearly 5 minutes, with Brian Kendrick getting a lot of offence, nearly pinning Chavo Guerrero in the 2nd minute, but MVP broke the pin. After another 3 minutes of action, MVP hit the Ballin’ Elbow on Chavo Guerrero, getting the win. Winner at 4:57 Montel Vontavious Porter Rating: C+ Paul London comes to the ring. London: What the hell Brian? Ok, we’re tag team champions and you’re still having these matches to elevate YOUR OWN CAREER! Why the hell can’t I have these matches? I mean, you’re my best friend, my partner, but I think I deserve the chances you’re getting, to prove myself. Kendrick: I didn’t ask for these chances, I went out and found them! If you want the chance to prove yourself, then grab the chance! You want Finlay, then get him. Challenge him. Do whatever you can. And one thing I CAN tell you…if you did get these chances…I sure as hell wouldn’t be jealous. No Chance! Vince McMahon walks to the ring like only he does. Vince: Dammit, shut the hell up. You two are the WWE Tag Team Champions! So, start representing this company and this business in a manner fitting of the tag team champions. Mr. London… if you want chances, as Mr. Kendrick said- go out and seize them! It’s your lucky day. You said you want the chances your best friend and partner Brian Kendrick has. Well, I’ll give you that. Brian actually spoke to me before the show, and got you a singles match, up next. Paul London…versus…Brian Kendrick’s Backlash opponent…the man who loves to fight…Finlay! London: Thank you! Thanks Brian. I’m going to make the most of this. Vince: Glad you’re both ok with each other…because next week…it’s going to be…one half of the WWE Tag Team Champions Brian Kendrick…versus…one half of the WWE Tag Team Champions Paul London! Rating: C+ Finlay makes his way to the ring, and the match is next! vs. The two put on a good showing, keeping the fans entertained in only the second match of the evening. Finlay dominated the early goings, utilising several amateur takedowns to take Kendrick to the mat. Rather than wrestling a cruiserweight-style in this contest, Kendrick showed his technical prowess, and it resulted in a good, short match. In the end, Finlay hit the Celtic Cross for the win. Winner at 6:46 Finlay Rating: B- We cut backstage, where The Undertaker is walking, looking like a man on a mission. He keeps shouting for Randy Orton to come and fight like a man. He hears a clatter round a corner, and runs round, only to see William Regal. The US Champion hasn’t seen the Dead Man. Regal: Bloody hell! Dropped my bloody cuppa! And…oh Jesus Christ have mercy! Undertaker, how are you doing sunshine? I presume you want young Master Orton. No, I haven’t seen the young fella, sorry! Undertaker knocks Regal down with a right hand, and begins to lay into him with punches and kicks to the face and gut. He hoists him up, and tosses him through the wall. He attacks the Brit for a few minutes, ending it with a Chokeslam. Rating: A* Rey Mysterio vs. Booker T vs. Bobby Lashley vs. vs. In a preview of sorts for Backlash, these three put on a good showing, allowing them all to show off their talents to the fans ahead of their 6-man tag match next Sunday. Booker and Lashley have history, and they went for each other from the opening bell. After 5 minutes, Lashley was on the rope and then hit with the 619. Rey went to hit the sunset flip, but Booker caught him in mid-air and hit the Book End, for the win. Winner at 7:13 Booker T Rating: B The Straight Edge Superstar CM Punk makes his way to the ring. CM Punk: Apparently last week’s beating wasn’t enough! I turned up, stared into the face of danger…into the eyes of two men…and won the match! Tonight, they’ve challenged me again and…well, they’ve been pretty stupid. I get to choose my partner. I could’ve chosen anybody really, but one name stood out. He’s a former Tag Team Champion…his old partner now commentates in WWE…ladies and gentlemen, my partner tonight…Ron “Farooq” Simmons! Rating: B+ Batista vs. Brock Lesnar vs. Ken Kennedy vs. vs. The three brawlers put on a decent showing, although it obviously consisted largely of brawling, with little wrestling talent shown. As noted, Kane was meant to be in this match. Once Lesnar came out, Batista and Kennedy were laughing, mocking Kane. Regardless, it was entertaining, finishing when Batista pinned Ken Kennedy after the Batista Bomb. Winner at 9:55 Batista Rating: B- After the match, Kane runs to the ring. Batista and Kennedy leap onto the Big Red Machine. Batista hits the Spinebuster, and Ken goes to the stop rope, signalling for the Kenton Bomb. Just before he can connect, Kane sits up, sending Kennedy crashing to the canvas. Kane reaches up and grabs Batista’s throat, before standing up, still with the goozle locked. Kennedy runs to try and knock Kane down, but gets gripped round the throat as well. Kane hits a devastating double Chokeslam. Rating: B+ John Cena and Christian vs. CM Punk and Ron Simmons & vs. & The match was quite good, and WWE did the right thing here by keeping Simmons largely out of the match. Cena looked good in the match, and the performance of CM Punk stood out over the other three as being good. It was a decent match, going on nearly 10 minutes, the ending coming when Cena made Simmons tap out with the STFU. Winner at 7:11 John Cena and Christian Rating: B- JBL: That was a great match Michael, and DAMN good to see Farooq back in action. Cole: Damn right partner. Anyway, we can now reveal that next week, Theodore Long will be making what is promised to be a HUGE announcement here on Smackdown. Make sure you tune in to see this announcement, next week right here on Friday Night Smackdown. Rating: D+ It’s time for the main event. Randy Orton and the United States Champion William Regal make their way to the ring. Before Undertaker and his mystery partner can come out, Orton and Regal have something to say. He’s a good young chap, and I’m sure we’re going to just fine against The Undertaker and whoever has chosen to be his partner tonight. Orton: That’s one of many things that gives us the advantage tonight! Besides our talent and strength, and obvious good looks, we also KNOW who our partners are. I know I’ve got Regal, he’s got me. Undertaker…you have no idea! It could be anyone, you could hate them! Undertaker, just like at Backlash, tonight I’m going to kick your ass! Rating: A The Undertaker’s music hits, and the arena is plunged into darkness. The low, dark-blue lights come on, and smoke appears. The Undertaker makes his awe-inspiring entrance. The lights stay down low. At Backlash, you will have to come to terms with your mortality. Tonight, you shall fall victim to…the beating of a life-time. It does not matter who chooses to team with me tonight, because either way…you will both Rest…In…Peace… Boom! The pyro goes off, the blue lights change to red and Kane makes his entrance! Kane: Hahahaha…hahahahaha…you think you can beat us? No-one can beat…the Brothers of Destruction. It was 22 minutes long, and by the end Regal was beginning to tire a bit. The four men brawled and fought until Orton his the RKO out of nowhere on Kane, and picked up the shock win for him and Regal! Winners at 21:58 United States Champion William Regal and Randy Orton Rating: B- FINAL RATING: C+ (Kane vs. Batista vs. Kennedy didn’t happen! Hurt our popularity)

Pre-show: Dustin Rhodes and Nick Armaho vs. Steve Corino and Christopher Daniels This was an ok dark match, getting all four some action. For the record, Nick Armaho is meant to be a parody of WCW World Champion Matthew Armiger. The war is already beginning once again. Anyway, the match ended just over 5 minutes in, when Daniels hit the Last Rites on Rhodes. Winners at 5:19 Christopher Daniels and Steve Corino Rating: D+ JR: Welcome to Monday Night Raw! We’re kicking things off in a huge way! Right now the “higher power” of sorts behind all these masked attacks on The Undertaker will present himself to you our fans. The video that aired on ECW and Smackdown last week revealed that he will be the manager and bodyguard of the Number 1 Contender Randy Orton, and is also the newest member of the Corporation. House of Wolves by My Chemical Romance hits. Nothing happens until the line “I’m a bad, bad man” is heard. Then out walks… Mike Tyson! The baddest man on the planet arrogantly walks to the ring to a chorus of boos. He flips the crowd off, climbs the steps and then Orton Poses before climbing into the ring. Tyson: Haha! I am the reason that The Undertaker fears for hit title. Undertaker, I’m the higher power…I’m the bodyguard and manager of your opponent at Backlash, Randy Orton, and I’m the newest member of the Corporation! I am one of 2 men to successfully play mind-games with the Dead Man. The other man…Randy Orton, who did so with my backing! Yup, I’ve been one of a few men under that mask and I’m gonna do all I can to ensure that Undertaker loses his title to Randy Orton this Sunday. Rating: B+ Matt and Jeff Hardy start to make their entrance for their non-title match against the World’s Greatest Tag Team. Suddenly, Benjamin runs down the ramp and takes out Jeff with a steel chair from behind. He pounds him into the ground and warns Matt to stay out of the way if he doesn’t want the same. Matt has no choice but to watch paramedics help Jeff out of the arena. Rating: C+ Charlie Haas comes out, and the match is now 2-on-1 & vs. Hardy was dominated in the opening minutes, but a double-side effect sent the tag champs to the canvas. Hardy began to build momentum, hitting running forearms and crossbodies on both men. In the 4th minute, Charlie Haas “accidentally” hit the ref with a running dropkick. With the official down, Haas and Benjamin grabbed a chair and ladder respectively. Matt was laid out with a steel chair shot. Benjamin was just about to jump, but he saw his partner taken out by…Jeff Hardy (who had a bandage round his stomach and head). Hardy then scaled the ladder, pushed Benjamin off and over the top rope to the floor! He hit a huge Swanton Bomb. He slipped back into the ring, hit a Twist of Fate on Haas onto the steel chair, and dragged his brother onto him. The ref came to and counted for the win. Winner at 6:44 Matt Hardy Rating: C Woooooooooo! The Nature Boy Ric Flair walks down the aisle in a sharp suit. The announcers tell the fans that his match with Brock Lesnar will be the semi-main event. Flair: Woooooooooo! Brock Lesnar! Tonight you’ve got to go one-on-one…with the Nature Boy! Woooooooooo! Brock…you’re the sort of guy I hate. Brock…you’re the sort of guy I hate. You have no respect at all for the business that MADE YOU! You came into this company and had a brilliant run, I won’t deny it. You got to the top, and then left! WE made you and you spat in our face, Brock. You left after a Wrestlemania match! It’s bull**** and a bitch-slap to anyone that calls themselves a wrestler! Tonight…I’m gonna kick your ass.... for all the boys in back. Woooooooooo! Rating: B+ Non-title: Intercontinental Champion Shane McMahon vs. Val Venis vs. The match was quite good. Val got in a hell of a lot of offence in the early goings, until a thumb to the eyes allowed Shane to take control with several stiff shots to the head. The champ dominated for a few minutes until Venis hit the Spinebuster out of nowhere, only getting a 2-count. 2 minutes later, he hit a perfect snap suplex, then hit the Money Shot for the win. Winner at 8:32 Val Venis Rating: B Venis is celebrating his non-title win, when suddenly Randy Orton and Johnny Nitro hit the ring and attack Val from behind. They begin booting him in the ribs before hoisting him up. Orton hits the RKO, followed by a Corkscrew Splash by Nitro. Shane is about to hit the Leap of Faith, but…Chris Jericho runs to the ring and takes him out. He takes Nitro and Orton down with a double clothesline and starts defending Venis, who staggers to his feet. The two clean house, but Shane grabs a mic as he gets to the ramp. Shane: Val…get out of the ring and to the back, or dammit you’re fired! Jericho…stay right there. You’re going to go against Johnny Nitro and…Edge. It’s a handicap match, unless you can find a tag partner. Rating: B+ Just as the bell is about to ring… Shawn Michaels’ music hits and the Showstopper makes his way to the squared circle. & vs. & It was a decent and quite long match with nothing separating the two teams. Edge and Nitro didn’t really cheat that often, instead making this a good wrestling match. The ending came when Nitro and Jericho took out each other with a steel chair each. Jericho swung for the head and Nitro jabbed at Y2J’s ribs. Both connected, causing the Double DQ. Shawn Michaels and Chris Jericho vs. Johnny Nitro and Edge ended in a draw at 15:16 Rating: B We cut backstage to a dark room filled with smoke, lit by 2 candles. The Undertaker can just be seen on the far side. Undertaker: Randy Orton…you honestly think a free agent and a former boxer can help you? I’ve beaten Brock Lesnar in singles action, and I can out-punch anyone in the world, living or dead. I am the best pure striker alive or dead…living or dead…currently, Randy K. Orton…Brock Lesnar…Mike Tyson…you are living. After Backlash…you will, all three, Rest…In…Peace… Rating: A Carlito vs. Robbie Brookside vs. In a poor match, these two fought for under 5 minutes in a back-and-forth contest. In the end, the win came following a German Suplex…by Brookside on Carlito! The Brit got the shock win. Winner at 4:14 Robbie Brookside Rating: D+ Ric Flair vs. Brock Lesnar vs. Management will have mixed feelings following this contest. On one hand, it was incredible- the two men have great chemistry in the ring, and this will be added to the list of legendary matches booked in one of WWE’s best first quarter in years. On the other hand, this would have been a great PPV match. Either way, this was a brilliant TV match, going nearly 12 minutes until Lesnar made Flair tap out to the Stretch Muffler. Winner at 11:54 Brock Lesnar Rating: A* The bell keeps ringing, but Lesnar keeps the Stretch Muffler locked in. He drags Flair out of the ring, and hits a vicious Spinebuster into the turnbuckle. Brock pulls apart the steel steps, and then rips up the ringside padding. First, he hits Ric with a brutal Powerbomb onto the steps, before dragging him to the exposed concrete where he hits a DDT followed by the F-5! Flair is bleeding profusely. Rating: B The paramedics rush down with a stretcher, and carefully strap the Nature Boy onto it. They wheel him up the aisle as he gets a standing ovation. The final image before the screen fades is Flair’s face, covered in blood. Rating: B We cut to a video that hypes The Rock. Rating: B Non-title: WWE Ultimate Wrestling Champion The Undertaker vs. Umaga vs. This match was nothing short of legendary. That adjective gets thrown around a lot in wrestling, but this match was deserving of it all. Going on just over a quarter of an hour, these two put on an incredible match full of brawling and striking. The end was brilliant. The Undertaker was going for Old School. As he leaped off the top, Umaga swung his free hand and connected with the Samoan Spike for the win! Winner at 16:56 Umaga Rating: A* FINAL RATING: B+, success Wrestlefan wins this show's predictions, as the only entrant lol. Well done anyway mate, you got 2/5. I was glad the Brookside-Carlito match wasn't expected, obviously that's what a shock-win should be- unexpected.

Pre-show: Mike Tyson vs. Sonjay Bhalla Mike Tyson makes his in-ring debut off-screen against a good cruiserweight. This match seemed to be an opportunity for Tyson to begin to learn the ropes of actually wrestling. The crowd however hated it, booing Tyson out of the building (X-Pac heat rather than heel). The two had a very short match that wasn’t as bad as it should have been, ending in less than 2 minutes when Bhalla was decked with an uppercut. Winner at 1:31 Mike Tyson Rating: C- Styles: Welcome to Extreme Championship Wrestling, I’m Joey Styles alongside Tazz and what a show we’ve got lined up for your enter- Suddenly, a strange video is shown, cutting Styles off. It shows three silhouettes moving through a church. Slow organ music is played in the background, as the three men walk slowly towards the camera. Suddenly they stop, and toss their hoods back, revealing there faces. The names appear on the screen…Senshi Dragon…Christopher Daniels…Mordecai. The names fade and 2 words replace it…Fallen Angels. Rating: C- Mike Knox vs. Robbie Brookside vs. This match started predictably, with Knox dominated and brutalising Brookside. Suddenly, in the third minute, Brookside hit the Super Kick out of nowhere, toppling the monster. He quickly made the cover, getting a big upset. The crowd seemed a bit bored with Mahoney’s character, and whilst Sabu seemed off his game, his partner Van Dam looked good. Abyss and Cor Von dominated the first couple of minutes, destroying the Fallen Angels. Out of nowhere, Mahoney hit the Nutcracker Suite on Cor Von and pinned him, giving us the first elimination. The three remaining teams brawl for another couple of minutes until RVD hit the 5 Star Frog Splash on Sandman for the pin! The champs are out! After a few more minutes, Daniels swings a chair at RVD. However, Van Dam hits the Van Daminator, causing the DQ! The match ended in a DQ, so…Sandman and Mahoney keep the titles! Daniels and Dragon look enraged! Winners at 7:32 by DQ Fallen Angels Rating: C- Randy Orton is backstage ready for a promo. Suddenly, The Undertaker attacks and starts to beat the number one contender down. You’re harming the greatest superstar in this business. His star has truly risen this year so far, and he will reach the pinnacle of this business on Sunday when we crown the NEW WWE Ultimate Wrestling Champion…Randy Orton, Legend Killer! The two traded offence for nearly 6 minutes until Tajiri hit the Buzzsaw Kick and picked up the win. Winner at 5:50 Tajiri Rating: C+ Styles: Well Tazz, it’s just about time for our main event! We’ve got the Number 1 Contender for the Xtreme Title Mordecai in Triple Threat Action against The Boogeyman and the hottest free agent in the world, Brock Lesnar. Tazz: This should be awesome Joey! On paper it looks like three brawlers just slugging it out, but come on! Yes, Boogey is a brawler, but Mordecai is a great striker and has a…not entirely orthodox offence and Brock Lesnar…wow! Styles: He’s a talented amateur wrestler, and has shown he can fly when needed! Needless to say, this match should be interesting! During the match, the ref was distracted by Mordecai choking Boogey. Behind his back, Christopher Daniels ran in hits the Last Rites on Lesnar! He then runs round and distracts the ref again. Mordecai hits a low blow on Boogey, and Senshi Dragon runs in to lock on the Dragon Clutch. He released it and slipped out of the ring, before Mordecai made the cover getting the win. Winner at 8:31 Mordecai Rating: B Final Rating: B- Wrestlefan: 1/4 Gobble.D.Gooker: 2/4 Ok, so here are the standings for predictions so far: Wrestlefan: 1 Gobble.D.Gooker: 1 Congrats on getting the most right this show GDG, one more show up before Backlash, then the PPV itself. WCW are really at war with WWE! Ted Turner is taking huge steps to put Vince McMahon out of business, sending offers to 4 key members of the roster. The first is Smackdown announcer Michael Cole, but he immediately signed an extension with WWE. Having said that, there are people that could have filled in had he signed with WCW, so it wouldn’t have been a major loss. One target for WCW is Cliff “Domino” Compton. WWE cannot really afford to lose him, as he is one half of one of only 3 teams on Smackdown. The tag division isn’t really big on the blue brand, and the Deuce ‘n’ Domino-London and Kendrick feud has been played for the majority of the last 4 months. Thus, the team- and Cliff himself- are instrumental in the division. After being built up for months into a bona-fide threat to anybody following wins over Hulk Hogan and Shawn Michaels, Jamal (Umaga) has been offered a contract with World Championship Wrestling. Whilst Umaga did lose to Sean “Val Venis” Morely at Wrestlemania (in turn creating a huge star in Venis), since then he has gone 4 matches without losing, and could win the rematch with Val in just 24 hours. His performances this year have been nothing short of incredible, including more than 10 MOTYC. If he moved to WCW, it would be a massive blow to WWE, as not only would it lose a main eventer that they themselves have built up to this level, but it would lose someone reliable and able to produce high quality matches each and every time he steps into the ring. The final target for WCW is the first-ever (and current) WWE Ultimate Wrestling Champion The Undertaker. It seems unlikely that Calloway would leave Connecticut- he’s loyal to Vince McMahon, and has been in the company for 17 years. He is one of only 2 men (the other being Shawn Michaels) that appeared on the first-ever episode of Monday Night Raw that is still with the company today. Regardless of how likely it is, his loss would be terrible. They would lose a loyal performer, a locker room leader, a true professional, an incredible and experienced talent and a decorated (and current) champion. He’s highly respected and aside from being the top man in the company at the moment (as the WWEUWC), he’s held the Hardcore title once, and the World Tag Team Championship 5 times (with Big Show, The Rock, Steve Austin and Kane). In addition, he was the last man to hold both the WWE and World Heavyweight Championships, when he united them at Wrestlemania 23. Smackdown! Preview: It’s the go-home show for Backlash, and it looks set to be great: After a heated argument last week, Paul London and Brian Kendrick will face off. They recently became WWE Tag Team Champions after defeating Deuce ‘n’ Domino, but London is angry that at Backlash Kendrick will face Finlay in a Number One Contenders Match for the United States Title. Will this see the end of the champions’ differences? Just days away from a Number One Contenders Match against Brian Kendrick, Finlay is in action against the high-flying Rey Mysterio. Will Finlay get in the zone for his match on Sunday, or will Mysterio build momentum heading into the huge six-man tag match? United States Champion William Regal is teaming up with his opponent on Sunday- Montel Vontavious Porter- to take on Booker T and Bobby Lashley. A few weeks ago, Lashley turned on Booker in a tag team contest. Now, these enemies must team up again, just days before they face off in a 6-man tag match at Backlash. Which team will be able to coexist heading into their respective matches? After the fans were promised Kane vs. Batista vs. Ken Kennedy last week, many were disappointed that it didn’t occur. Kane chose to reunite with his brother in the main event, and thus Brock Lesnar was thrown into the battle. This week, however, these three WILL be in action against each other. All three are involved in the 6-man tag match at Backlash, so will Batista and Kennedy use this as an opportunity to injure Kane ahead of the contest? In the main event, the odds are against CM Punk again, as he’s in a handicap match with John Cena and Christian once more. However, this week there’s a twist! It’s 2-on-3, with Randy Orton joining Cena and Christian to take on Punk and his partner…the WWE Ultimate Wrestling Champion The Undertaker! Quick Preview Paul London vs. Brian Kendrick Finlay vs. Rey Mysterio US Champion William Regal and Montel Vontavious Porter vs. Booker T and Bobby Lashley Kane vs. Batista vs. Ken Kennedy WWE Ultimate Wrestling Champion The Undertaker and CM Punk vs. Randy Orton, John Cena and Christian

Pre-show: 20 Man Battle Royal The final four competitors were Shannon Moore, Funaki, Chavo Guerrero and Jimmy Wang Yang. Yang was sent over by Funaki in the 12th minute, but he was immediately eliminated himself by Shannon Moore. 4 minutes later, Guerrero went to hit the Gory Bomb, but instead dumped Moore over the top rope. Winner at 15:58 Chavo Guerrero Rating: C- Cole: Hello one and all and welcome to Friday Night Smackdown! We’re kicking things off in a big way! Here comes our General Manager Theodore Long, I wonder what he’s got to say! JBL: It could be ANYTHING Michael, but on thing is for sure- it’s gonna be huge. Long: Holla! As you all know, this Sunday the WWE Ultimate Wrestling Championship will be defended for the first time ever! Randy Orton, the number 1 contender, will face the champion The Undertaker! This last month, Orton has been attempting to play mind-games, taking cheap-shots at Taker. Nothing can be done, as Orton and his manager Mike Tyson are members of The Corporation, alongside Shane and Vince McMahon. I am out here to inform you that at Backlash this Sunday there will be a Special Guest Referee in the Ultimate Wrestling Title Match! The referee is...this man… Rating: C- The Sharpest Lives hits, and out comes the Baddest Man on the Planet, Mike Tyson. Tyson: I am your referee this Sunday! Haha! Undertaker, you cannot beat my client Randy Orton again. The mind-games, perfectly orchestrated by yours truly, have beaten you down. You don’t know where to turn! You’ve even reduced yourself to our level, taking people out from behind. So, at Backlash by client WILL overcome you because he is not scared of you anymore, and neither am I! I have total confidence that, at the end of the night this Sunday…I will be counting 1…2…3, to crown a NEW WWE Ultimate Wrestling Champion. Rating: B+ WWE Tag Team Champion Brian Kendrick vs. WWE Tag Team Champion Paul London vs. Shockingly and disgustingly, these two don’t click as opponents at all! The match suffered a lot because of it, ending in under 10 minutes when London hit the 450 Splash, getting the shock win! Winner at 8:58 Paul London Rating: D+ Paul London celebrates his win, holding his title high. Brian Kendrick walks up and spins him round, staring into the eyes of his partner. He raises his hand, but rather than striking him, offers his hand. London accepts it, and the tag champs raise each other’s hand and parade for the fans. Rating: C+ Non-title: Cruiserweight Champion Jack Styles vs. Bryan Danielson vs. This was quite a good, even contest between two great talents. The fans were solidly behind Styles and they exploded when he hit the Styles Clash in the 5th minute, only to groan when Danielson somehow kicked out. The American Dragon brought the chair into the ring, but as the ref took it back out he hit Styles with a low blow, before locking in the Arms Across America for the win. Winner at 6:42 Bryan Danielson Rating: C- JBL: Let me introduce my new weekly talk show, the John Layfield Show! Punk: Just like last time, I want more than ever to kick your ass. JBL: Haha! You don’t want me to come out of retirement, because you’d be embarrassed to have your behind beaten by a RETIRED WRESTLING GOD! Punk: Yeah that’s right, retired. So how about you stop living on former glories and do your job. JBL: WATCH YOUR TONE BOY! Shut the hell up! You will let me do my job without any of your childish comments, going for the cheap pop. First question…do you actually think you have a hope IN HELL of winning the Triple Threat with John Cena and Christian at Backlash? Punk: A couple of weeks back, on my own, I defeated both of them in a handicap match. Sure, I’ve lost in other circumstances- with other people holding me down. Other people distracted by other things, maybe a random slut, maybe how they’re getting another fix. My only addiction is- JBL: To competition, yeah we get it. You lost to Christian three weeks ago, what makes you so sure you can beat him this time? Punk: I’m focused and ready to do whatever it takes to finally reach the top of this company. I’ll prove I’m the best on Smackdown, then prove I’m better than the best on Raw…and then I’ll prove I’m the best in this damn company. Rating: B- Rey Mysterio vs. Finlay vs. These two put on a decent show, going nearly 10 minutes. Finlay tried to keep Rey grounded, but eventually Mysterio’s speed gave him the advantaged. A 619 and the subsequent West Coast Pop gave Rey the victory. Right, I’m better than Cena, better than Punk…I’m better than rock ‘n’ roll, better than funk. I am to wrestling what Ali is to boxing, gonna win my chance with the whole world watching. Ok, rap over. Cena, I don’t need this crap to win a match or hype up the crowd. Tonight, we need to be on the same page. We can win and get some momentum heading in, and we’ve worked together in the past. But come Sunday, it’s every man for himself. The winner gets to fight the top Raw superstar at Judgement Day and go on to hopefully become Number 1 Contender for the Ultimate Wrestling Title. I can’t wait to have that title in my hands in a few months time, it’ll be s...w…double-e-t…SWEEEEEEEET! Rating: C- (OOC: This got a poorer rating than expected because in-game I accidentally had Christian interviewing Kristal) United States Champion William Regal and Montel Vontavious Porter vs. Bobby Lashley and Booker T & vs. & This was a decent contest, with some good storytelling. Lashley did not want to cooperate in any way with Booker, but Booker wanted the win, for pride’s sake. MVP and Regal worked as a team largely, until the end, when Regal, unbeknownst to the referee, hit Porter with some brass knuckles. MVP staggered and turned, bent over. Booker capitalised and hit a Scissors Kick for the win. Winners at 11:37 Booker T and Bobby Lashley Rating: B- Booker T and Lashley start to trade blows, but as Booker gets the advantage, Kennedy and Batista charge down to help Bobby. Kane and Mysterio run down to even the numbers, going after Batista and Kennedy respectively. The 6 men have a huge brawl, spilling out of the ring and onto the ramp, eventually broken apart by officials. Officials drag Mysterio, Booker T and Lashley to the back, and Kane, Kennedy and Batista get into the ring for their match next! Rating: B Batista vs. Kane vs. Ken Kennedy vs. vs. This wasn’t as good as the match with Brock last week, but the fans popped for Kane. The two heels teamed up for a while, until the 9th minute, when a Batista Bomb, followed by the Kenton Bomb, left Kane immobile. At this point, they turned on each other, brawled until Batista rolled up Kennedy with a handful of tights, getting the win! Winner at 11:12 Batista Rating: B- A video is shown hyping the CM Punk-Christian-John Cena match for this Sunday. Orton constantly avoided getting into the ring with the Dead Man until the 10th minute, when he took advantage of a cheap shot by Cena. He began pounding the champion, hitting an RKO in the 12th minute, only for Undertaker to sit up! Taker made the tag to Punk, as Orton tagged out to Christian. Randy began to beat down illegal man Taker in the 13th minute. With the ref distracted, Cena low blowed Punk and Christian rolled him up, using the ropes for leverage. The referee didn’t notice this, and made the count. Winners at 14:40 Christian, Randy Orton and John Cena Rating: B FINAL RATING: B Wrestlefan: 3/5 Gobble.D.Gooker: 2/5 Here are the standings for predictions so far: Wrestlefan: 2 Gobble.D.Gooker: 1 Well done Wrestlefan. Pre-show: Non-title: WWE Cruiserweight Champion Jack Styles vs. Christopher Daniels vs. Bryan Danielson vs. Senshi Dragon vs. “Ace” Chris Colton vs. Sonjay Bhalla This was a solid match by 6 of the best cruiserweights in the world. Senshi Dragon nearly got the win in the 2nd minute when he locked Colton in the Dragon Clutch. However, Danielson hit a double stomp to break the hold. A couple of minutes later, Styles hit the Styles Clash on Bhalla for the win. Winner at 4:34 Sonjay Bhalla Rating: C- Mordecai and the World’s Greatest Tag Team vs. ECW Xtreme Champion Tajiri and the Hardy Boyz The 6 men put on a good contest, keeping the fans entertained. Benjamin was cheering Haas throughout, always applauding Haas’ moves and apologising if he got hit. In the 7th minute, Mordecai hit the Crucifixion on Matt Hardy for the win. Lawler: Last month Wrestlemania 23 set new standards in sports entertainment, but tonight we look to exceed expectations. Here’s a preview of our main event tonight, and how we got to where we are. A video is played to hype The Undertaker vs. Randy Orton. It shows all the backstage attacks and promos, including the announcement on Smackdown that Mike Tyson is the Special Guest Referee. JBL: This man Finlay has the edge Michael. Just look at his face as he walks to the ring. He means business, and last time these two faced, he got the win! Cole: That may be true, but I wouldn’t rule out this man! Brian Kendrick is one-half of the WWE Tag Team Champions, and despite friction they’re still a top team here on Smackdown. He’s beaten US Champion William Regal in non-title action, and defeated Finlay in their classic encounter in the first week of February. He could easily become the Number 1 Contender for the United States Title tonight, if he can win this match, Finlay vs. Brian Kendrick (accompanied by Paul London) vs. (w/ ) The match began with the two men locked in the centre of the ring. Finlay broke the lock-up and Irish Whipped Kendrick, who springboarded off the middle rope and hit a clothesline. The two had a good spell of chain wrestling for a couple of minutes, and Finlay largely kept Kendrick grounded. In the 5th minute he locked on the Celtic Knot, but Kendrick powered out. The tag champ began to build momentum, hitting several dropkicks and spinning wheel kicks, followed by a standing moonsault. They traded arm drags, but as Kendrick charged at Finlay once more, the Irishman hit a brutal clothesline, nearly taking Kendrick’s head off. 8 minutes in, Kendrick went for a Standing Shooting Star Press, but Finlay got the knees up. The two fought for another few minutes, until Finlay untied the turnbuckle cover. As the referee was busy tying it back on, Finlay went for the shillelagh. Paul London quickly scaled the top rope and hit a cross-body. Kendrick quickly capitalised, hitting Sliced Bread No. 2 for the win, although he didn’t look pleased at how the advantage was gained. Winner at 11:52 and Number 1 Contender for the US Title Brian Kendrick Rating: B Paul London runs back in and starts to raise his partner’s hand in victory. Kendrick shrugs him off and grabs a mic. Kendrick: What the hell was that? You don’t think I can get the job done on my own?! Look, you may have beaten me on Friday but you’re still jealous! You had to be involved; you HAD to have YOUR time in the spotlight! Why couldn’t you let me have my moment?! Paul, you’ve always known I’m better, always wanting to bask in my glory. I want what’s best for BOTH of us! I’m going to win at Judgement Day and we’ll be the most decorated tag team in history! You’re going to win a championship, what about the Cruiserweight? You win that, and we’re THE best team in history. I won’t get involved in your single matches. Paul, stop being selfish and step out of the spotlight. Rating: C+ Cole: Oh my! Kendrick was really angry following that match, but the fact of the matter is that thanks to London he’s facing either William Regal or MVP at Judgement Day. JBL: He should take wins as he gets them! He was going to get out-smarted and beaten by Finlay! London helped him, and this ungrateful moron wants a clean win! He’s got a title shot! Cole: True, although I admire his anger at not getting the clean victory. Anyway, up next is a huge 6-man Smackdown Tag Match. At Wrestlemania 23, Batista and Kane collided in a great contest, and this past month their path has intertwined with those of Booker T, Bobby Lashley, Ken Kennedy and Rey Mysterio. After weeks of interference and cheap shots, our General Manager Theodore Long took action. He said if they want to be involved in each others’ business, they can be- tonight, in a 6-man tag match. Rating: B Batista, Ken Kennedy and Bobby Lashley vs. Kane, Booker T and Rey Mysterio && vs. && Lashley and Kane began in the ring, and Lashley took control with an amateur takedown that grounded the Big Red Monster. He got Kane in a headlock, but after half a minute Kane managed to get to his feet and hit a Hip Toss. The two traded blows, until Lashley raked Kane’s eyes, and began to keep him isolated. Batista, Kennedy and Bobby utilised quick tags for a few minutes, keeping Kane away from his corner. In the 4th minute, Batista went for the Batista Bomb, but Kane slipped out and hit a big boot. A few moments later, he made the tag to Mysterio, as Batista tagged in Kennedy. Mysterio got the better of their confrontation, showing off his wide arsenal of quick, high-risk moves. He hit the 619 in the 6th minute, but before the springboard he turned to the fans. Kennedy tagged in Batista and turned back round, with Batista stood in the corner. Mysterio went for the West Coast Pop, but Kennedy ran out of the ring and Batista caught him, delivering the Batista Bomb. However, Booker made the save and kept his team in the match. For the final 3 minutes, all members of each team got into the ring, but the match ended when Mysterio went for another 619 on Batista. As he ran, however, the Animal caught him and hit a brutal Spinebuster, before covering him for the win. Winners at 9:44 Batista, Ken Kennedy and Bobby Lashley Rating: B We cut backstage where Todd Grisham is standing by. Shawn, after Brock’s brutal attack on Ric Flair this past Monday Night, you challenge Lesnar to a match tonight. He’s already accepted, so why did you ask for this interview time? HBK: Well Todd, it’s quite simple. I challenged him to this match to avenge what he did to Ric Flair. Flair is a good friend of mine, and also a best friend of a best friend of mine. See, we’re really connected! Anyway, I want to add a stipulation to this match and Brock, I’m sorry to say but by decree of co-GM Stone Cold Steve Austin…you can’t get out of it. I’m not gonna give it away, just watch this video of what happened on Monday, and see if you can guess what type of match we’re having. All I will say is Brock…you’re not walking out of this one. Rating: B+ A video is shown, first of all showing Ric Flair’s career progressing. It then shows the match against Brock, and the brutal post-match attack. The screen goes black-and-white, and the video shows Ric Flair being wheeled out on a stretcher, into an ambulance backstage. Then, a voice utters to words… “Stretcher Match”. Rating: B+ JR: Well it’s a stretcher match! The only way to win is to strap your opponent to the stretcher and get him into the ambulance by the titan tron. Stretcher Match: Shawn Michaels vs. Brock Lesnar vs. The stretcher was not properly connected to its wheel-stand; however, to win you must place your opponent onto the actual stretcher, which should be strapped onto the wheeler and then wheeled into the ambulance. The two begin in a fairly basic fashion, but after a few minutes the action spills outside the ring. Lesnar uses his strength and size advantage to overpower HBK, body pressing him onto the security barrier. He reached under the ring and pulled out a steel chair, before drilling Michaels in the skull with it. He strapped Shawn to the stretcher, and then pulled a table from under the ring, setting it up. Brock hoisted the Showstopper into the bear-hug position (still on the stretcher), and drove him into the turnbuckle. A few minutes later, the fight was continuing, with Shawn slowly gaining the advantage. In the 7th minute he hit a brilliant dropkick, sending Lesnar onto the aforementioned table. HBK gave a quick smirk and the camera and the fans, before a serious look crossed his face. He slipped a ladder out from under the ring, and placed it a few feet from the table. Michaels grabbed the stretcher and slowly climbed to the top of the ladder, then leaped off, stretcher in front of him, and went crashing through Brock and the table. Both men were down for nearly 3 minutes, when suddenly HBK kipped up, much to the fans approval. The two warriors began to trade blows at ringside, until Shawn went for the Sweet Chin Music out of nowhere. Lesnar ducked and lifted him onto his shoulders. He delivered a vicious F-5 into the ring post, and dragged the Heartbreak Kid onto the stretcher, beginning to wheel it down the ramp. Michaels managed to slip off the stretcher and delivered a perfect Superkick to the skull of Brock, who fell onto the stretcher. However, he got off just at the ambulance. The two brawled for another few minutes, around the ambulance, until another Superkick once again left Lesnar on the stretcher, prone to attack or loss. HBK then climbed onto the ambulance and hit a moonsault onto Brock, who somehow stayed on the stretcher. A few moments later and he was in the ambulance, giving Shawn the win. Winner at 17:56 Shawn Michaels Rating: A* JR: Shawn did it! He’s avenged Ric Flair and won an incredible, awesome match! Now we pass things back to Michael Cole and JBL. Cole: Thanks JR and what a contest! Smackdown aims to top it, however, with our next offering here at Backlash. It’s United States Champion William Regal making his first title defence against hand-picked opponent Montel Vontavious Porter. JBL: Regal is a smart, smart man Michael. He knew that facing Christian or CM Punk- in the form they’re currently in- would be a bad move. He got Finlay and MVP to take them out, in return for the opportunities they both received tonight. Cole: Well, Finlay wasted his chance, or rather Paul London wasted it for him, helping partner Brian Kendrick to victory in their Number 1 Contender match at the top of the card. This man MVP will hope to make the most of his opportunity and become US Champion, ending Regal’s reign at the first hurdle. United States Title Match: United States Champion William Regal vs. Montel Vontavious Porter vs. William Regal put in a good performance tonight, looking good out there. The match began with the two exchanging quick holds for nearly 2 minutes, with neither going to the mat. Regal ended this at the 2 minute mark, when he used a headlock takedown to bring Porter to the mat. MVP showed some impressive skills, nearly out-wrestling the champ until a perfect arm drag flowed into an arm lock to keep Montel grounded again. He slipped out and hit the thumb to the eyes before delivering a brutal DDT that only managed a 2-count. Regal went back on the offence, but MVP reversed a suplex into his own, again not making the 3. By the 5th minute, MVP was totally in control, hitting a wide array of moves, ranging from arm drags to clotheslines, but never getting the win. Offence was totally spilt in the next few minutes, until Regal got the advantage with a sneaky brass knuckle shot. He lifted Porter to his feet, delivered a Regal Cutter and pinned him for the win. Winner at 7:48 and STILL WWE United States Champion William Regal Rating: B We cut backstage, where Mike Tyson is stretching and punching a boxing bag, for whatever reason. Vince McMahon walks in. Vince: Mike, my man! How ya doin’? And what can I do for you? A coffee? Iced tea? A beer? Anything you want, you can get on the house, as a Corporation member and all. Tyson: What do you want Vince? Vince: …well, Mr. Tyson. I have a proposal. Tonight, you’re refereeing the match between your client…a member of the corporation, run by me and my son Shane…your client and The Undertaker. Now, I’ve heard rumours that you…you want to be…f-fair tonight. That’s not true is it? I mean, we need to CRUSH The Undertaker. If Randy wins, Jericho can’t challenged for yet another title. What d- Tyson: Vince…it’s true. I’m going to call this match…right…down…the middle. Rating: B+ JR: Like hell! Sorry, but I don’t believe Mike Tyson for one damn second! Lawler: He wouldn’t lie to Vince McMahon JR! Anyway, get your mind off that and onto this! The winner of this next contest goes one to face the winner of Smackdown’s Triple Threat later tonight at Judgement Day! JR: And the winner of that match is the Number 1 Contender for the Ultimate Wrestling Championship! What would victory mean to this man Chris Jericho, King? Lawler: That entirely depends on who wins the main event JR! If Undertaker wins, then it’s ok- Jericho can beat the Smackdown winner and then face Undertaker for the title. However, if Orton gets the job done tonight, then Jericho’s win will be meaningless, because he can’t challenge for any title that a member of the Corporation holds. Edge vs. Chris Jericho vs. Johnny Nitro vs. vs. The match began with Edge clotheslining Nitro over the top rope to the floor, taking him out for some time. Edge and Jericho were free to fight alone for nearly 5 minutes, during which time Jericho wore down Edge’s legs, putting the Rated R Superstar in leg-locks, and continually kicking at his calves. In the 6th minute, Edge hit an implant DDT out of nowhere, but Nitro was able to slip back in and make the save, before kicking Edge out of the ring. Jericho and Nitro began to put on the typically great performance they’ve done in the past, with awesome back and forth action and several near falls. Only 10 minutes in, this match was already shaping up to be another incredible contest booked by WWE this year. At the 11 minute mark, Edge came back into the fight and all three started trading offence. In the 14th minute, Jericho hit an Enziguri on Nitro and put Edge in the Walls of Jericho. Just as Edge tapped out, Johnny Nitro pulled the referee out of the ring and collapsed, holding his leg. The ref fell for the trick, checking on Nitro’s injury. With Nitro distracting the referee, Edge took advantage once Y2J released the hold. Four low blows were followed up with a Spear, and then a chair shot. Nitro was still feigning injury on the outside, and Edge untied the turnbuckle padding, but Jericho reversed an Irish Whip and set Nitro neck-first into the steel. At 20 minutes, Nitro slipped back into the ring and hit a Superkick on Chris Jericho, which sent him into another Spear by Edge. The living legend rolled, in pain, out of the ring. Edge and Nitro began to fight. After 4 minutes, Edge pointed over Nitro’s shoulder, laughing. Johnny turned to see what was there, leaving himself open. The Rated R Superstar slipped in behind and rolled him up with a handful of tights for the cheap win, ending what was easily the best match so far this year. Winner at 24:57 Edge (who will face either CM Punk, John Cena or Christian at Judgement Day in a Number 1 Contender Match for the WWE Ultimate Wrestling Championship) Rating: A* A video airs recapping the history of Val Venis and Umaga. Initially it shows Umaga’s dominance at the beginning of the year and Venis’ rise to the top. A minute or two is shown of their classic at Wrestlemania 23, then the attack by Umaga this month. Rating: A* JR: These two men have a storied history and it continues tonight. Val Venis has only once defeated Umaga in the four contests they’ve had this year. At the end of April, 4 days before Wrestlemania 23, Umaga teamed with John Cena and Johnny Nitro on the Wrestlemania Preview Special on ECW and defeated Val Venis, The Undertaker and Shawn Michaels. Lawler: But JR, at Wrestlemania Venis BEAT Umaga! Then the following night, Umaga teamed with Nitro to once again overcome Venis and Undertaker. The following week on Raw, Umaga, Randy Orton and Brock Lesnar beat Venis, The Rock and HBK! I don’t fancy his chances, but I do know that if Umaga wins, it’s 1 a piece on pay-per-view, so I’d definitely expect a rubber match to settle it. JR: I agree, a decider would be on the horizon, but do not rule Venis out. He’s come a long way this year, and has beaten Umaga in their only 1-on-1 match. Umaga vs. Val Venis vs. Sadly there was a lack of psychology evident in the match, but it was still awesome. The two mega-stars both put in great performances as always. Venis began the match kicking at Umaga’s knees, trying to take the big man of his feet. Towards the end of the 1st minute he went of a dropkick, but Umaga somehow grabbed his legs and reversed it into a Powerbomb! Umaga began to dominate for a few minutes, pounding Val in the skull with kicks and punches. One kick was caught by Venis, who elbowed Umaga in the knee and went back on the attack, taking the Bulldozer down with a Neckbreaker. He climbed up to the top rope and as Umaga got to hit knees, he hit a beautiful missile dropkick, but only managed a 2-count. The Bulldozer went back on the offence in the 6th minute, until Val once again got the advantage, somehow suplexing Umaga. He climbed up to the top rope and waited for the perfect time to attack. He went for a flying clothesline, but Umaga popped him in the neck with a Samoan Spike! He went for the cover…1…2…no! Venis got the shoulder up. The two began to brawl for a few minutes, before spending a few minutes trading holds. At the 10 minute mark, Umaga reversed a cross body, flipping Venis onto his shoulders and delivering a ring-shaking Samoan Drop! Venis once again kicked out and began kicking at Umaga’s knees, wearing him down. Somehow he hit a back suplex, and went to the top rope. He connected with the Money Shot, but Umaga powered out! The two fought for 5 more minutes full of back-and-forth action with Venis tiring, but in the 15th minute Venis locked in the Venis Fly Trap! The hold was locked in for nearly 2 minutes, until Umaga’s leg strength allowed him to power out. A minute later, Umaga delivered another Samoan Spike and picked up the win! Winner at 17:57 Umaga Rating: B+ Cole: Well Raw’s main event of the night was certainly an incredible contest. Those two men just went nearly 20 minutes all for the sake of pride! JBL: And strength beat popularity Michael! As much as Venis’ star has risen this year, his victory over Umaga at Wrestlemania has just been proven as a damn fluke! Cole: I disagree, but now it’s time! Smackdown’s main event, it’s the chance of a life time for this man CM Punk. If he can win this, he’s going to Judgement Day to take on Edge. JBL: Damn right it’s the chance of the life time, but I don’t know if he can! He has NO experience in big-match, WWE pay-per-view situations! John Cena does! Cole: Oh boy does he! He was in a great contest at the Royal Rumble defeating the Man of 1,000 Holds Dean Malenko in a submission match, then narrowly lost out to the Icon Shawn Michaels at No Way Out. He participated in the biggest match in Wrestlemania history, maybe sports entertainment history; although coming up short, he’s got big-game experience! JBL: Can we not underestimate this man though Cole? He’s won 11 matches since he returned here 2 weeks before the Royal Rumble, and so far this year has wrestled in the Royal Rumble Match, a TLC Match with Chris-freaking-Jericho AND the Money in the Bank Ladder Match. Also, out of the three he’s the most decorated champion- he’s held the World Tag Team Titles 9 times, the National World Title, the European title, the Hardcore Title, the Light Heavyweight Championship and the IC title 3 times! CM Punk vs. John Cena vs. Christian vs. vs. This incredible contest began with Cena and Christian double-teaming Punk, first sending him down with a double-clothesline, then following that up with a splash-knee drop combo. The two began to work on his back, alternating kicking him in the spine. Both went for a kick to his side, but CM Punk grabbed both legs and sent them onto their backs. Punk managed to take Cena out of the ring with a dropkick, and was able to focus on Christian, with several arm drags followed by a clothesline. The two fought until the 5th minute, until Christian hit the Unprettier. He went for the cover, but Cena made the save just before the 3. Christian got in John’s face before Cena slapped him across HIS face, then delivering an FU! However, Punk broke up the pin and went on the attack again. At the 9-minute mark, Punk took out Christian with a Go to Sleep, then looked Cena in the Anaconda Vice, but the former WWE Champ refused to quit, instead breaking the hold. The three men traded offence for a few minutes, with some incredible technical wrestling by Christian and Punk, great brawling by Cena and good high-flying stunts again by Punk. In the 14th minute, Cena was hit with a Tornado DDT by Christian, who turned into another Go to Sleep by Punk, which got the win! Winner at 14:53 CM Punk Rating: A* Cole: Oh my! At Judgement Day we’ll see CM Punk against Raw’s Edge! This will be one hell of an encounter, with the winner going against, presumably, the winner of this next contest, if they’re still champion in a couple of month’s time. JR: By God, it will be a classic match-up! I’m gonna go with my guts and colours- Raw and Edge will come out on top! Lawler: I totally agree JR! He’s got the experience and the talent! JBL: As much as I hate CM Punk, he’s damn sure got talent and passion, but I hope to HELL that Edge can beat him at Judgement Day. Cole: Regardless of which superstar and brand gets the victory, every WWE fan and employee who watches that match will be a winner, that’s for sure. Rating: B+ JR: Here we go ladies and gentlemen! This is the big one! The WWE Ultimate Wrestling Champion, a man that represents all 3 brands, is taking on the Number 1 Contender Randy Orton. Now let me remind you, if Randy Orton wins tonight, he is obviously the new champion and will be fighting on all 3 shows regularly. The Undertaker will replace Orton on the brand he’s left, in this case Raw. If The Undertaker wins, well he retains his title. Cole: These men have a storied history together and it just keeps getting more personal. The special referee Mike Tyson, Orton’s manager, is in the ring and we’re good to go. WWE Ultimate Wrestling Title Match: WWE Ultimate Wrestling Champion The Undertaker vs. Randy Orton: Special Guest Referee- Mike Tyson vs. Orton began the match with a rake to the eyes straight away, and Mike Tyson- like he promised- pulled him away and reprimanded him for the move, calling it right down the middle. Randy tried to build momentum with a few well-aimed punches, but as always playing the striking game with The Undertaker isn’t a smart move. Taker sends him down with a strong right, and Mike Tyson responds by getting in his face and warning him against using his fists. By the 5th minute, Undertaker was on a roll, hitting Snake Eyes followed by a Big Boot. The legend then hit a perfect suplex and then locked in a triangle choke hold. Orton managed to use his free arm to land a shot on Taker’s head, forcing him to break the hold. The two continued to brawl until the 8th minute, when Taker when for a Chokeslam. Orton hit a European Uppercut on his arm, and then poked the Dead Man in the eyes. He hit his superb modified backbreaker, but only got himself a 2-count. Taker used his strength to overpower and dominate Randy Orton for a few minutes, hitting trademark blows and attacks, ending the spell of dominance with Old School. As the match reached its 13th minute, Taker was still in control. He went to hit another Old School, but just before he clubbed Orton in the neck, the Legend Killer broke away and caught Taker in mid-air with an RKO! Undertaker somehow kicked out though and the match continued. By the 16th minute, Randy Orton was back in the driver’s seat, keeping Undertaker on the mat with a chinlock. The Dead man rose to his feet, and hit a back suplex on his contender. The two brawled and traded blows for a further 5 minutes, building up the crowd for the big finish. At the 21st minute, with Tyson still calling it down the middle, Undertaker looked set to win. He had Orton in a goozle and was ready to hit a Chokeslam. Suddenly, Mike Tyson low blowed the Dead Man and decked him with a huge right hand. Orton picked him to hit an RKO, but the ref stopped him. He slipped out of the ring and brought a chair into the middle of the squared circle and set it up. With his manager/ref shouting instructions, Orton delivered a brutal RKO onto the chair and made the cover. Tyson made a quick count 1…2…3! Undertaker was screwed, and we’ve got a new Ultimate Wrestling Champion! Winner at 22:38 and NEW WWE Ultimate Wrestling Champion Randy Orton! Rating: A JR: Dammit! No! Mike Tyson said he was going to call this down the middle, but he just hit Undertaker low and then decked him with a huge right hand! JBL: He’s genius Jim! He lured the Dead Man into a false sense of security- yet again, playing mind games with The Undertaker! What an RKO onto a chair, and dammit the bottom line is…Randy Orton is the NEW WWE Ultimate Wrestling Champion! FINAL RATING: B+! So, The Human Cancer wins with the only entry. Well done anyway mate, you got 5/8. That means THC and Wrestlefan have drawn with 2 points each (with Backlash counting for 2 points). So, I will PM both of you over the next couple of days with about 3 choices each for a prize. The 3 choices will be different for each of you, and it'll be things ranging from a development wrestler to be called up (I'll provide the list of available talent) to a wrestler to switch brands. Anyway, any comments on the show?
