Thanks for taking the time to read, really appreciate it. And this'll be covered in more detail in the next post, but Orton winning was a last-minute decision. My intentions were Undertaker, right until I was actually booking the match. Anyway, once again thanks for reading.

All the latest from Stamford and beyond... Signings... The day of Backlash, WWE managed to secure a contract extension for Umaga. This is a huge boost for the company, who were worried that he would jump ship to WCW. WCW meanwhile signed Rodney Mack, Sid Vicious, Andrew (Test) Martin, Sylvester Terkay and Rick Steiner. Surprisingly, Vicious will be working as an in-ring competitor, high up on the card (or so reports suggest). Reports also suggest Mack will be starting as a curtain jerker, but here at TWR we hope he'll move up the card soon. Martin will be working as Andrew "Test" Martin as a face in the main event. Terkay will also be a face, in the upper reaches of the card, whereas Steiner will be working in the midcard as a heel. WWE Backlash...In Review Well, it’s one night after Backlash and it’s all the wrestling world is talking about! The night was highly unpredictable, with WWE themselves changing plans at the last minute. This hasn’t really been the case thus far this year, so here’s a breakdown of the matches and news regarding them: Brian Kendrick beat Finlay- this was expected, but he did so following interference from Paul London. This is a surprise- their match on Smackdown was terrible, so we’re hoping the argument afterwards isn’t leading to another. Batista, Ken Kennedy and Bobby Lashley beat Rey Mysterio, Kane and Booker T- this made sense largely, because Kane beat Batista at WM23. However, Mysterio and Booker have lost momentum since they returned from injury, and this was seen by many as a chance to solidify their places in the upper midcard of Smackdown. Reports suggest that management changed their mind several times in the last month regarding the winners of this match. Stretcher Match: Shawn Michaels beat Brock Lesnar- Lesnar’s been doing well recently, and for a throw-a-way match, this was great. HBK reportedly asked for this a week or so ago. Without much time for build-up, management set up the Flair angle and this incredible match came from it. HBK got the shock win, which was needed as he was floundering following the massive storyline leading up to WM23. US Title Match: US Champ William Regal beat MVP- Ok, no surprise at all here, except that the match was very, very solid, showing that Porter can really go, given the right opponent. Edge beat Johnny Nitro and Chris Jericho- The initial plan was for Jericho to go over, but this was changed a week ago when management decided that an Edge-CM Punk match was the way to go. Umaga beat Val Venis- Val rightfully jobbed to Umaga after beating him at Mania. This will set up a rubber match between the two, we think, at Judgement Day. However, plans could change, and this isn’t even a rumour yet. CM Punk beat Christian and John Cena- Cena and Christian had been built up a lot this month, and it was expected that one of the two would go over, after Punk got the win in the handicap match a couple of weeks back. It is true that C and C won the go-home match on SD, but as evidenced by the Y2J-Shane storyline, this doesn’t always guarantee a loss or victory (Y2J lost most matches going into his show-down with Shane, and still lost their blow-off match). WWE Ultimate Wrestling Championship Match: Special Ref- Mike Tyson: Randy Orton beat The Undertaker- This was easily the biggest decision WWE have made all year. Reports tell that the plan, since a few weeks before Wrestlemania, was to have The Undertaker keep the title for a while (some reports suggested up until Summerslam), before eventually dropping it to Orton. Apparently, moments before the PPV began Orton spoke to Alistair McGeorge and suggested that the angle that played out on the show. Vince McMahon asked Mike Tyson to help Orton to victory. Tyson refused, saying he would call it right down the middle. In the conclusion of the match, Tyson decked Undertaker, going back on his word and helping Orton to victory. This is a huge shock, as Orton had always been noted as putting Taker over in this contest. Surely the two will have a rematch in the future. So Long, Farewell... In other news, the following have announced their plans for retirement: Diamond Dallas Page Brian Adams Mil Mascaras Mogur Jimmy Snuka Dave Taylor Scott Armstrong Vader There are no plans to give Taylor a big farewell in WWE, as he's not done much of note this year really. He will remain with the company, as will Scott Armstrong, as a Road Agent. DVD NEWS! WWE have announced a new 4-Disc DVD called Year of Classics I. Predictions/comments etc? What I've decided to do is extend the competition thing until Judgement Day. Firstly, it means we should get a winner but also it means there will be a full month (diary time) to decide the winner, which seems fairer.

Pre-show: World Tag Team Champion Charlie Haas, Cryme Tyme, Brock Lesnar and Umaga vs. Chris Jericho, Dustin Rhodes, El Generico, Jim Duggan and Nick Armaho This was a decent match that could’ve been on TV, but it was clearly made because Umaga, Lesnar, Haas and Jericho had no logical match for TV, and to give the others some ring-time. Brock Lesnar and Jericho put in great stand-out performances, and Umaga looked excellent. The match lasted nearly 12 minutes, ending when Umaga hit the Samoan Spike on El Generico Winners at 11:47 Umaga, Charlie Haas, Cryme Tyme and Brock Lesnar Rating: C JR: Welcome, ladies and gentlemen, to Monday Night Raw! We’re one night removed from Backlash, which was one of the most entertaining pay per views of all time and…my God, what a way to start the show! Lawler: Last night, JR, there were many big winners on the Raw side of things. Shawn Michaels won for Ric Flair, Umaga won to prove he’s still the monster and although Orton became WWE Ultimate Wrestling Champion, I’d say Edge is the one huge winner of the night! JR: I’d find it hard to disagree King, and we’re starting the evening with Edge in the ring, presumably to speak his thoughts. Edge gets into the ring and soaks in the boos, passing them off as cheers. Edge: Ladies and gentlemen, the next Ultimate Wrestling Champion…me! Last night I participated in the greatest match of the year so far, possibly of all time! Forget the Austin Era, forget the Orton Era…the Rated R Era is close to beginning. I am THE greatest performer and athlete in our profession, hell the entire world! Finally, I am going to be back at the top. CM Punk, in 4 weeks time it will be your Judgement Day. I want to make this occasion memorable. I mean, hell, it’s the first-ever Number 1 Contenders Match for the Ultimate Wrestling title! So, your choice Punk! You can choose what type of match we fight in. Just a word of warning though…don’t choose a TLC match, unless you want…to get PUNKED OUT! Rating: B+ Cade and Murdoch vs. The Hardy Boyz & vs. & This was an average tag team contest, with all four men dominating at some point. Matt played face-in-peril towards the end, and after a hot tag Jeff cleaned house and hit the Swanton Bomb on Murdoch for the win. Winners at 6:54 Hardy Boyz Rating: C Hello Ladies! Val Venis, WWE’s new golden boy, makes his way to the ring, bandaged up. Venis: Hellooooo ladies! I want to apologise for not getting the job done against Umaga last night at Backlash. Umaga, you hit me with all you had, and on the night it was enough to beat me. However, at Wrestlemania 23 you hit me with all you had and it was NOT enough. I beat you, but I can’t deny your victory. I see it as 1 a-piece. We haven’t solved anything yet. I won and you took a cheap-shot to set up a rematch. I’m not that bad a guy. Well I am, but only in the bedroom. Anyway, Umaga I’m going to be straight with you, as I am with everybody…hello ladies! Umaga, I challenge YOU to a rematch to settle this, once and for all. Umaga makes his way to the stage with Armando Alejandro Estrada, who has a mic. Do joo honestly want a match with thee….Sah-moh-an Bulldozer…Umaga? I like the idea! I want to see joo get beaten, once again so there is no doubt that the superior being is…Ooooooo…maga! It was well-received, and the WWE have done a good job of slowly building Danielson up. The two phenomenal athletes put on a technical match-up that kept the fans involved. In the 8th minute, Danielson shocked the fans in attendance, hitting a Dragon Suplex out of nowhere and picking up the win. Winner at 8:45 Bryan Danielson Rating: C+ Glass smashing is heard over the PA, and the Co-GM of Raw, the Texas Rattlesnake Stone Cold Steve Austin, makes his way to the ring to a huge ovation. I am the co-GM and it’s about time I came out here and made a proper decision in front of all the fans. So, tonight *What* in the main event *What* it will be *What* Val Venis *What* going up *What* against *What* one-on-one *What* the new *What* WWE *What* Ultimate Wrestling Champion *What* Randy *What* Orton! If Orton is pinned or taps out in that match, I promise a change to the Judgement Day card. Edge will not face CM Punk for the Number 1 Contenders spot. If Venis can beat Orton…you will see the biggest SOB in the business Umaga taking on…the most watered-down Rated R anything I’ve seen, Edge…taking on…the Straight Edge Superstar CM Punk…taking on Val Venis…taking on…Randy Orton…in a Five Way for the WWE Ultimate Wrestling Championship! If Venis does not get the pin or submission, the matches stay the same. And that’s the bottom line, cos Stone Cold says so! If you wanna see those five ind- Rating: A I’m back! Austin is cut-off by the other co-GM, Eric Bischoff. Bisch walks into the ring and takes Austin’s mic. Bischoff: Gimme a hell yeah? How about I give you my foot up your ass, you washed-up has been. Yeah, I went there…bitch! Anyway, you’re not the only general manager on this brand, and you’re sure as hell not the only person who can make matches. You’ve made a great main event, no doubt, but I’ve got a better one. For the first time ever in single action, Kenny Dykstra *fans boo loudly* will face-off against…the former WWE Ultimate Wrestling Champion The Undertaker *huge pop*! Looks like the fans like it…in your face, bitch! Austin stunners Bischoff and leaves the ring mouthing off. Rating: B- A replay is shown of Brock Lesnar’s match and following assault on Ric Flair. Rating: B+ We cut backstage, where Todd Grisham is standing by. Grisham: Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome my guest via satellite…the 16-time World Champion…the Nature Boy…Ric Flair. Grisham: Ric, as we just saw on that replay, a week ago after losing to Brock Lesnar you were brutalised by him and busting open, leaving on a stretcher. I guess the first question has to be…how are you feeling? Flair: Well Todd, obviously I’m hurting. It wasn’t fun being beaten like that, and I don’t just mean physical pain. I hate not being able to entertain, not being able to wrestle. It was justice to see HBK kick Lesnar’s teeth down his throat last night. Grisham: That brings me to my next question- are you glad that Shawn Michaels chose a Stretcher Match as the type of contest? Flair: It was definitely sweet to watch Brock being pushed into an ambulance on a stretcher, just like he forced me to do last week. However, I want to be the one to do that to Brock. I want revenge, and woooooooooo I’m gonna get it! Brock, once I’m fit and well, and that’ll be in a couple of weeks at least...I’m gonna face you in a match. In fact, Judgement Day; Ric Flair vs. Brock Lesnar! Woooooooooo…you’re going down. Rating: B+ Shawn Michaels vs. Carlito Caribbean Cool vs. There’s no explanation of why Carlito’s gone back to his original name, but it’s not really needed to be fair. Sadly, HBK and CCC don’t click, but this match showed how great both men (or arguably just Michaels) are. Despite not gelling in the ring, they still managed to put on a good contest that kept the fans involved and entertained. In the 10th minute, Shawn Michaels hit some Sweet Chin Music and got the win. Winner at 10:42 Shawn Michaels Rating: B- JR: Well up next Edge faces off against Johnny Nitro, but immediately following that is the former champ in action! In a match made by co-GM Eric Bischoff, The Undertaker faces off against Kenny Dykstra. These men have been in the ring together in various tag team matches 2 times in the past. Lawler: That’s right, but Dykstra’s lost both times. I don’t really see Kenny getting the job done tonight, but he could surprise me! JR: He could surprise us all, King! On thing’s for certain and that’s that it will be a slobber-knocker of a match! Rating: B Edge vs. Johnny Nitro vs. The two put on a typically great match as they’ve done in the other 2 occasions they’ve been in the ring together. Edge looked every bit a bona fide superstar and Nitro actually looked like a believable headliner. In the end, Edge hit an Edgecution in the 11th minute and got the win. Winner at 11:31 Edge Rating: B+ The Undertaker vs. Kenny Dykstra vs. This was, yet again, a great match and the fans were really into it. Dykstra had spells of offence throughout, coming close to winning several times. However, in the end it came to nothing when Taker hit a Tombstone nearly 14 minutes in. Winner at 13:53 The Undertaker Rating: B+ JR: Well that was incredible! What’s also gonna be incredible is our main event. It was made earlier by co-General Manager Stone Cold Steve Austin and it looks awesome on paper. We’re gonna see Randy Orton, the new WWE Ultimate Wrestling Champion, in non-title action against the most improved wrestler this year Val Venis! They’ve faced off twice thus far this year and it looks all square. In their first match, Venis got a shock-win just over a week before he beat Umaga at Wrestlemania. They faced off in a tag match the week after Mania, and Orton teamed with Umaga and his Wrestlemania opponent Brock Lesnar to defeat Val Venis, The Rock and Shawn Michaels. It’s one-one, how’s it gonna go tonight? Rating: B+ Non-title: WWE Ultimate Wrestling Champion Randy Orton vs. Val Venis vs. This was another great match on a solid card, match-wise. Orton looked extremely credible as champion, whilst Venis looked a real threat. In the 13th minute, Venis hit a Money Shot but was unable to immediately make the cover. Both men got to their feet, and suddenly Undertaker and Umaga hit the ring. Umaga took out Val Venis just as Taker attacked Orton, causing a double-DQ. Randy Orton vs. Val Venis ended at 13:36 in a double disqualification. Rating: B+ FINAL RATING: B+ It was discovered that Mark “The Undertaker” Callaway has called an end to the first day of negotiations. WWE were certain they would resign him on the first day and are already panicking and making plans in even that he does leave. It is not likely at all that he will, and the reports suggest he called an end because WWE forgot his creative control clause. He is expected to sign tomorrow, if all goes well. Ok, so no predictions this week so no change in the standings. Any comments on the show?

Pre-show: Robbie Brookside vs. Josh Abercrombie This wasn’t an great match by any stretch of the imagination, but it was just a short 5 minute contest to get both men in the ring. Christopher Daniels ran in to distract the referee. Whilst the ref was occupied with getting him away from the ring, Dreamer hit the Dreamer Driver on Holly onto a steel chair. He then took out the other two men with the chair and made the pin on Hardcore. Winner at 4:11 Tommy Dreamer Rating D+ After the match, everyone leaves until Senshi Dragon is left lying in the centre of the ring alone. Mortals, we are three men united with a common goal and a common hatred. Tajiri…you should not be ECW Xtreme Champion. Your reign has run its course and it is time for a change. Daniels: It’s time to purify ECW, and we’re going to do it at all levels. At Judgement Day, Mordecai will correct the wrong-doings of the past and become ECW Xtreme Champion. Senshi Dragon and I will team together and capture the tag team titles. We will rule ECW. Mordecai: We are the Fallen Angels and we are your Saviours. Rating: D Christopher Daniels vs. Bryan Danielson vs. Stevie Richards vs. Sabu vs. vs. vs. This was a decent match and all four men deserve props for that. Danielson has come leaps and bounds this year in terms of popularity. Although not on a huge level (he certainly won’t be main eventing any time soon) he’s gone from someone who gets no reaction in dark matches to a man getting small pops on TV, working the lower-mid card. The four brawled and fought for 7 and a half minutes until Boogey tapped out to a Stretch Muffler. Winners at 7:30 Mordecai and Brock Lesnar Rating: B- Styles: Wow that was brutal. Anyway, up next it’s our main event! It’s champion vs. champion. Tajiri our ECW Xtreme Champion is up against the WWE Ultimate Wrestling Champion Randy Orton, and this should be good! Randy Orton has beaten legends such as Chris Jericho, The Undertaker, Triple H and even Ric Flair. Tonight he's taking on an ECW and Smackdown legend in Tajiri. Orton has held the Intercontinental Championship, back in 2003, then the now defunct World Heavyweight Championship in 2004. Last year, as part of Rated RKO he was World Tag Team Champion, and now he's on top of the WWE as the Ultimate Wrestling Champion! Still, don't underestimate Tajiri! He himself is a decorated champion. In 2001 he won the Combat Heavyweight Title, the United States Title, the Light-Heavyweight Title and the first of three Cruiserweight Titles! He's also a former WWE and World Tag Team champion, with the late, great Eddie Guerrero and the Great Brit William Regal, respectively. The two battled for a short while until Orton hit the RKO out of nowhere and picked up the win. The fans booed the ending, clearly wanting to see the ECW talent win. Winner at 5:42 Randy Orton Rating: B+ Orton leaves the ring. Suddenly, the arena lights change to a dark red, and the ramp is lined with pillars of flames. The Fallen Angles walk to the ring, walking past Orton and not giving him even one glance. They slip into the ring and start to circle Tajiri. Senshi Dragon locks in the Dragon Lock, as Mordecai kicks the champ in the face. Daniels lifts him up and hits the Angel Wings, followed by a Crucifix Bomb by Mordecai. The three men raise their arms and the show goes off the air. Rating: D- FINAL RATING: C+ ADeezy62- 2/5 chris caulfield- 3/5 Chris caulfield wins this show, getting 1 point. WWE have announced that Mark “The Undertaker” Callaway has signed a new deal to keep him with the company for the next 2 years. He’ll be getting $29,000 a month, with 25% share of merchandise revenue. His creative control clause was left out originally, but he refused to resign without it. This is understandable and reasonable, especially as he has rarely refused to put people over when asked. Smackdown! Preview: The John Layfield Show will play host to CM Punk tonight! Non-title: Cruiserweight Champion Jack Styles vs. Chavo Guerrero Non-title: WWE Tag Team Champions London and Kendrick vs. United States Champion William Regal and Christian Bobby Lashley vs. Kane Rey Mysterio vs. Ken Kennedy Inter-brand: The Undertaker vs. Batista John Cena vs. CM Punk Predictions?

Pre-Show: Deuce ‘n’ Domino vs. The Highlanders vs. Shannon Moore and Jimmy Wang Yang This wasn’t a great match, but gave these 6 men some much-needed ring time. It lasted nearly 10 minutes, until Deuce cracked Robbie McAllister in the mouth for the win. Winners at 9:54 Deuce ‘n’ Domino Rating: D+ Cole: Welcome once again to the show that’s changing Friday nights…this is Smackdown! JBL: I’m getting one hell of an opportunity Michael. The John Layfield Show is back tonight and my guest is CM Punk. In fact…it’s right now! JBL gets into the ring, which is set up. JBL: Ladies and gentlemen, thank you and welcome to the John Layfield Show. I’m your host John “Bradshaw” Layfield, and I am a Wrestling God. My guest this week THINKS he’s a wrestling God. At Backlash, he beat Christian and John Cena to earn the right to face Edge in a Number 1 Contenders Match at Judgement Day! Let’s bring him out! Punk comes out to a huge ovation. JBL: Let me get right down to business- can you do it again? Punk: Do what again Bradshaw? JBL: Can you get another FLUKE win and crawl, cheat your way to the top of the ladder? Because let’s face it…you can’t beat Edge, and you know- Punk: It was NOT a fluke! I’ve beaten them before, in a handicap match! I can beat Edge and I will do…for myself…for Smackdown…for all of these fans! JBL: Awww, for all these fans? Grow the hell up! You’re meant to be a man, a superstar, not a teen poster boy! Get over the handicap match and grow some grapefruits because you’ll need them to beat Edge! Punk: I will beat Edge, and I can guarantee…the NEXT Ultimate Wrestling Champion…will be coming from Smackdown. Rating: B JBL: Damn right he will, but only because I’ve taught you all well! Every Smackdown superstar should bow at my feet and learn from my legacy! I am a Wrestling G- Punk: You know what John…PROVE IT! You say you’re a Wrestling God, but last time I checked you were hiding behind a mic! So, how about it? CM Punk versus John “Bradshaw” Layfield, one more match! JBL: …dammit! You’re on, son! Next week I’m gonna kick your goddamn ass and send you packing! I’ve got an idea! If you win, I will never step in this ring again, for an interview or a match or anything else! If I win…neither will you… which means I face Edge at Judgement Day. So, it’s winner takes all, what do you say? Punk: What do I say? I say see you next week! Rating: B+ Non-title: Cruiserweight Champion Jack Styles vs. Chavo Guerrero vs. These two have pretty good chemistry and it lifted the match. Sadly, the fans don’t care about Guerrero anymore, because he’s been largely absent the last month. Either way, it was a decent match, just no real interest. In 5 minutes, Chavo hit the Frog Splash for the win over the champ in non-title action. Winner at 4:51 Chavo Guerrero Rating: D+ Cole: Wow! Chavo Guerrero just dispatched the champion Jack Styles in a short time. But what the hell is this? Gregory Helms has run to the ring and now Chavo and Helms are beating down the champ! Dammit, Nightmare on Helms Street. No! They’ve got a steel chair. Gory Bomb onto the chair! Chavo has lifted Styles up and he’s holding the chair against his skull. Helms is going for the Shining Wizard but no! Bryan Danielson, seemingly out of nowhere, has taken Gregory Helms out with a clothesline! Chavo Guerrero swung with the steel chair, but Danielson ducked and hit a dropkick, knocking Chavo down. Styles is helped to the back. Helms gets to his feet and tells Chavo to get a referee. The ref runs down alone, and we’re going to be treated to an impromptu match between Danielson and Helms. Rating: D- Bryan Danielson vs. Gregory Helms vs. This was a good mid-card effort, and Danielson is really getting over. After nearly 6 minutes Helms tapped out to an Arms Across America. Danielson’s winning streak is now extended to 9 wins, and has lasted since the night after Wrestlemania 23. Winner at 5:39 Bryan Danielson Rating: C We cut backstage, and Brian Kendrick and Paul London are warming up, on opposite sides of the locker room. Kendrick walks over. Kendrick: Look, Paul. Up next we’re taking on a United States Champion…and a really experienced tag and singles wrestler. We’re going to face William Regal and Christian. We can’t beat them with this divide. If we lose, I know we’ll move on but I want to win. We’re tag team champions. London: You’re right. We have to be on the same page, we have to trust each other. So…congratulations for your win at Backlash, sorry I got involved man… Kendrick: Don’t sweat dude, a win’s a win hey? Point is, I’m going to Judgement Day a tag team champion. If I lose my title match with Regal, I’ve still got these titles. If I beat him…all the more reason for believing we’re the best team in the world! Rating: B- Non-title: WWE Tag Team Champions London and Kendrick vs. United States Champion William Regal and Christian & vs. & This was a good contest featuring some great athletes. William Regal put in yet another stand-out performance, not surprising considering his experience and talent. The four men put on an entertaining match-up which ended when Christian got the sudden win with the Unprettier. Kendrick and London left on good terms. Winners at 13:35 Christian and William Regal Rating: B Cole: Later tonight we’re in for a real treat! Bobby Lashley will go one-on-one with Kane for the first time ever. They’ve met a total of 3 times before, in various match types and the fact is that Kane has not beaten Bobby Lashley ever! Can he do it tonight for the first time in their first-ever singles contest together? Rating: B- Ken Kennedy vs. Rey Mysterio vs. This wasn’t exceptional, but good enough for TV. The clash of styles was interesting, but it created a decent match-up. In the end, Kennedy was lying on the ropes. Mysterio hit the 619 and went for a Springboard Crossbody. Ken caught him on his shoulders and hit the Green Bay Plunge for the win. Winner at 8:54 Ken Kennedy Rating: B- Kane is out first for his match with Bobby Lashley. As he makes his way down, Lashley runs up behind him and takes him out with a forearm shot to the back of the next. Lashley beats him down the ramp and around the ring before rolling him into the ring so the match can begin. In the 5th minute Lashley looked to end it with a Dominator, but Kane sat up and fought back. 3 minutes later Bobby hit a vicious Spear and that was enough to keep the monster down for the 3. Winner at 8:45 Bobby Lashley Rating: B- We cut backstage and Kristal is standing by with John Cena. Kristal: Here is the last-ever WWE Champion John Cena! John, you came up short at Backlash and lost to CM Punk in the Triple Threat match. Tonight, you get a shot at revenge against CM Punk in one-on-one action, your thoughts? Cena: Yo, yo, yo! I may have come up short at Backlash, but the fact is Punk is just a pile of trash. You better believe he can’t beat me, just like all these fans can’t see me. I’m the best athlete on Smackdown, ya hear? Last ever WWE Champion, yeah I’m here and I can’t be beat, victory over Punk tonight will be sweet. Christian on Sunday, he was holding me back. Punk’s getting an STFU and he’s gonna tap! Yeah Christian was just pulling me down but tonight Punk the only thing you’ll hear is the sound… “Let me give you your winner…the best damn superstar John Cena!” Rating: A The Undertaker is coming out first for his match against Batista. He gets to the ring and grabs a mic! Undertaker: Randy Orton…Mike Tyson. You now have something that belongs to me. Something I earned and something I obtained fairly and within the rules. At Backlash, Orton, you cheated. Mike Tyson…the referee…interfered and took down the Dead Man. I applaud you Mr. Tyson because you did take me down…from behind and unexpected. Randy Orton…this is not over. Understand this Tyson and Orton…the Corporation…unlike you, I am not a mere moral. And Orton…unlike you, at Judgement Day I will not…Rest…In…Peace. Cole: Wow! Well, for an undisclosed reason the WWE Ultimate Wrestling champ couldn’t make Smackdown tonight, and so this match is taking place. It’s The Undertaker, the former champion, taking on the Animal…Batista! Rating: B+ The Undertaker vs. Batista vs. This should have been much, much better but sadly it wasn’t as incredible as expected. Either way it kept the fans entertained throughout. The Undertaker and Batista largely brawled for the 9 minutes of the match, until Taker hit the Tombstone and got the win in this inter-promotional match. Winner at 8:49 The Undertaker Rating: B- John Cena vs. CM Punk vs. This was a great match going on little under a quarter of an our. The two superstars were fighting for nearly 12 minutes when Cena accidentally took the referee out with a wild clothesline. Suddenly, Christian ran to the ring. He told Cena to hold Punk up. Christian ran up, looking to kick Punk in the groin. Instead, he swung with his fist and met his target…Cena’s skull! John hit the mat and Christian hoisted him up and hit the Unprettier. He shouted “That was for all of you!” to the fans and left the ring to cheers from the crowd. CM Punk locked in an Anaconda Vice and the ref roused in time to see the submission. Thanks for the response. Glad there's some heat on JBL, and I'm so glad the decision to bring Punk to Smackdown has paid off, he's really becoming popular all over (I'm pretty sure he was at this point anyway, I'm about 3 months ahead in-game). Dupree, Grenier and Conway have been assigned to ECW. It is not clear yet whether La Résistance will be reunited. Deville and Palumbo are being sent to Raw, and the rumours are they will be involved in the IC Title scene. Dibiase Jr and Burchill haven’t been sent to a specific brand yet. Also, Burchill and Palumbo will be faces, with the rest performing as heels. Last week, alright, I didn’t beat Val Venis. But guess what, I got a draw which is more than you got against me at Backlash! I beat you, it wasn’t difficult and dammit I can do it again any time of the day and any day of the weak. I can win again tonight. I don’t really care who my opponent is, I’ll beat him, and I’ll knock him out just like Mike Tyson decked you at Backlash. You see, if you don’t win tonight…you’ll be proving way beyond a shadow of a doubt that you’re worse than me. Let’s look…you’re in a 6-man contest against 5 other men. The first…Shawn Michaels…well, I beat him and yourself in a tag team contest two weeks before Wrestlemania 23! Now, Brock Lesnar…I beat him AT Wrestlemania 23. I’ve never faced Umaga, but he’s a fellow Corporation member so I won’t discuss him. Val Venis…I’ve beaten him in a tag match! Kenny Dykstra…well, I’ve never even faced him and he’s a Corporation member too. So basically, if you don’t win then I can beat people you can’t! Sure, you’ve won 15 times and never lost at Wrestlemania but hey…I’m the Ultimate Wrestling Champion and the Legend Killer and at Judgement Day I will completely put your legend, your legacy, your career…your life…to rest. Anyway, it was nearly 8 minutes long and the greatest spot had to be Jeff Hardy taking out JTG, Charlie Haas and Cade with a Whisper in the Wind. Chad was pinned by Jeff right after that. Shelton Benjamin tried to tag in, but Haas couldn’t reach the corner and he was eliminated in the 5th minute by a Swanton Bomb. Whether I have to screw someone else to get it done, whether I have to be in a team…or whether I have to put my body on the line and go through 6 of the best athletes on Raw…I will once again become…Mr. Main Event! Rating: A Intercontinental Champion Shane McMahon and Edge vs. Chris Jericho and Bryan Danielson & vs. & In this match, Chris Jericho and Edge both looked great, bringing this match up. Shane didn’t get a lot of action, but Danielson was heavily promoted as a solid threat. Surprisingly, Y2J and Edge let Shane and Bryan have the spotlight, and in the end Danielson got the win on Shane with a Dragon Suplex. Winners at 7:56 Bryan Danielson and Chris Jericho Rating: B- JR: Wow, a solid win by those men. Jericho must be on a huge high right now, getting his hands on Shane McMahon once again, but obviously he can’t face him for the title ever again! Lawler: Danielson can, JR! But damn! CM Punk’s out here! JR: My God, Smackdown’s CM Punk is attacking Edge, who he will face at Judgement Day in a Number 1 Contenders Match for Randy Orton’s Ultimate Wrestling Title! Punk beats Edge down, hitting the Go To Sleep, then locking in the Anaconda Vice. If you want to know our match type…well, just tune in this Friday on Smackdown. If you want to know who’s facing Randy Orton in his Randy Orton Open in tonight’s Main Event…look no further than the Straight Edge Superstar! Rating: B+ Shawn Michaels vs. Brock Lesnar vs. The Undertaker vs. Umaga vs. Val Venis vs. Kenny Dykstra vs. vs. vs. vs. vs. This was an expectedly brilliant match between 5 of the best superstars in the world and a quickly improving Kenny Dykstra. Dykstra had a decent amount of offence and even looked like winning in the 10th minute. He went for a Spirit Drop, but Undertaker sat up before the Leg Drop could connect. A few minutes later, Michaels took out Umaga, Venis and Kenny with an Asai Moonsault. Undertaker Chokeslammed Lesnar for the win. Winner at 14:08 The Undertaker Rating: A Non-title: WWE Ultimate Wrestling Champion Randy Orton vs. CM Punk vs. This was a legendary match-up, and if Punk beats Edge at Judgement Day, this could be an incredible PPV show-down. Punk locked in the Anaconda Vice in the 17th minute, but just before Orton tapped out, Edge ran to the ring and cracked Punk with a steel chair, causing a DQ. Winner at 17:29 CM Punk Rating: A* Punk’s music starts to play, but it cuts out when Orton and Edge start to lay into him again. Edge hits an Edgecution onto the steel chair and then lifts CM Punk up in a sleeper hold. Orton charges and RKOs Punk onto the chair as well, before punting him in the head. Edge crouches in the corner and looks ready to hit a Spear. He runs across the ring but out of nowhere…Sweet Chin Music! Shawn Michaels hits the Superkick on the Rated R Superstar, and then another on Randy Orton. Rated RKO slip out of the ring, and HBK and Punk are left standing tall. Rating: B+ FINAL RATING: A! ADeezy62, you win as the only entrant. Incidently, you got 2 correct out of the 3 you predicted (you must've missed the tag match, no worries though). ECW Preview: Tonight, our champion is running the gauntlet! On ECW tonight, Tajiri is facing a test of endurance. He will be facing off against one superstar at the top of the show. If he wins, another will come out. This continues until the main event- a 3-on-1 match against Fallen Angels. If another man beats the champ, then he will continue the gauntlet. To make it even more interesting…if the champion loses any match before the main event, the man that beats him becomes champion! History could be made tonight- either it will be the most number of title defences in one night, or the ECW title will change hands the most times it ever has in one hour. Source: wwe.com OOC: No real room for predictions, besides the Main Event. If you don't think Tajiri will make it, you could always offer a guess as to who will?

The lights go dark red and 6 pillars of flames line the ramp. They start to beat down Tajiri. Senshi didn’t look solid in his attacks, but Mordecai looked brutal. Rob Van Dam ran out to make the save. He chases them off, and then tells the ref to ring the bell! Rating: D ECW Xtreme Title Match: ECW Xtreme Champion Tajiri vs. Rob Van Dam Just as good as the previous contest, these two have done better. It lasted a good 7 minutes, until RVD sent Tajiri over the top rope to the outside. Tajiri failed to beat the 10-count, so lost but still kept his title. The announcers explain that because he is still champion, he will continue into the main event. Winner at 7:48 Rob Van Dam Rating: C Tajiri and Bryan Danielson vs. Fallen Angels & vs. && This match was terrible. All 5 men have done a hell of a lot better in the past. Bryan was in the ring a lot more than Tajiri and really helped his team to victory, which came just under the 13 minute mark. Tajiri was tagged in and hit the Shining Wizard on Senshi Dragon. Winners at 12:54 Tajiri and Bryan Danielson Rating: D+ FINAL RATING: C- Daniels and Senshi were used too much. Pre-show: The Highlanders and Funaki vs. United States Champion William Regal, Dave Taylor and Domino This was quite good and Regal’s great performance really stood out. It lasted nearly 9 minutes, until Rory got hit with a Regal Cutter for the win. I’m Michael Cole, and with me is my broadcast partner John “Bradshaw” Layfield. JBL: Tonight I return to action! It’s going to be great- what the hell is he doing interrupting me! Cole: Well here comes Christian who last week earned a lot of fans respects, turning on John Cena saying it was for all of them! Christian is in the ring now, smiling and for once soaking in the cheers. Christian: Yo…yo…no. John Cena, last week you got what was coming to you! If you hadn’t have been dragging me down, I’d be facing Edge and Judgement Day! You’ve taken a turn for the worse ever since you turned on Chris a few months ago and at first I was proud. You were taking what’s yours and doing whatever it took to win. You made a mistake when you staked a claim for the title. These fans don’t want a wanna-be-rapper as their champ. They want someone with real charisma and real talent, someone who wants to entertain. Cena, you’re out and Captain Charisma is back. I attacked you last week for all of these fans but most importantly for myself. I’m challenging you at Judgement Day- let me know next week…chump. Rating: B Cruiserweight Champion Jack Styles and Bryan Danielson vs. Chavo Guerrero and Gregory Helms & vs. & A match set up last week, it was decent enough. Danielson looked good in the contest but the champion was off his game. Styles still performed ok, but just not up to his usual standard. In the end, Danielson made Helms tap out for the second week in a row with the Arms Across America. Winners at 4:13 Bryan Danielson and Jack Styles Rating: C- Backstage, we see Paul London warming up for his handicap match against Montel Vontavious Porter and Finlay. I’m proud you’ve made this challenge, but what do you have to prove? I mean yeah I’ve beaten Finlay three times in the past, but I’ve never beaten MVP! London: Exactly. I don’t want you to get the wrong idea- just consider this friendly competition. If I beat MVP AND Finlay next…well, I guess you’ll need to prove at Judgement Day that you’re better than me… Kendrick: Haha you’re right. Well, good luck out there. Rating: C+ WWE Tag Team Champion Paul London vs. Montel Vontavious Porter and Finlay vs. & All three men put on a decent mid-card match that was decent enough to hold the fans’ attention. London managed to use his speed to his advantage, constantly escaping from holds by both men. In the end, he hit a Dropsault on both men, followed up with a 450 Splash on MVP for the huge upset! Winner at 7:31 Paul London Rating: C When we come back from the break, Theodore Long is stood in front of the entire Smackdown locker room. Long: Gentlemen, I have some news. I’ve heard a rumour that Edge is planning on getting in here tonight to get at CM Punk. Needless to say, that ain’t how it’s gonna go down here tonight! Edge can try, but gentlemen…don’t let him in. I do not want Edge in this arena tonight. He probably wants to get in with a ticket, but you have to all be by the front doors of this arena when you’re not competing and make sure he doesn’t get in with his ticket. Punk, we’ll do all we can to stop Edge getting at you tonight, because playa…you’re gonna be the first Ultimate Wrestling Champion to come from Smackdown ya feel me? Rating: B- Deuce vs. Rey Mysterio vs. These two didn’t click at all, but the match was ok considering. Deuce got in a fair bit offence and kept Mysterio grounded. In the end, Mysterio’s speed helped him to victory with the West Coast Pop. Winner at 7:16 Rey Mysterio Rating: C Cole: Rey Mysterio just picked over a solid win in singles action, and up next…what the hell! That’s Edge walking through the parking lot! All our Smackdown superstars were meant to be stopping the Rated R Superstar from entering the arena tonight, but here he is! Rating: B+ Kane vs. Ken Kennedy vs. Brian Kendrick vs. vs. This should’ve been a bit better, but the fans still seemed to be into it. Kendrick looked a legitimate threat all the way through, but Kane’s size and power advantage kept dominating the tag team champ. The match ended in 10 minutes, when Kennedy hit a Green Bay Plunge on Kendrick for the win. Winner at 10:06 Ken Kennedy Rating: C+ CM Punk makes his way to the ring for his match with John “Bradshaw” Layfield. Before JBL can get into the ring (he’s going to be wrestling as he is, in a suit), Punk has something to say. Punk: Yeah! Up next I put JBL back behind the announce table, back where he belongs. John, you’ve had your time in the sun! I just want to address another issue. As we all saw, Edge is in the arena tonight. Somehow he got past the entire Smackdown locker room, but you know what…I’m glad! Edge, I can’t wait until Judgement Day, until we face off one-on-one and put on a wrestling clinic. Do you want to know what type of match we’re going to have? I’ll give you a clue…it involves a ladder. To win, you have to climb said ladder and retrieve a briefcase, inside which is the Number 1 Contenders Contract. You should have guessed by now, but I bet I have to spell it out…L…A…D…D…E…R…M…A…T…C…H. Edge, I’ll see you at Judgement Day…in a Ladder Match! Rating: A JBL gets into the ring, and Vince McMahon walks down to the announcers table and will take over as colour commentator. vs. The match was surprisingly decent, and JBL really stepped up his game. He had to really, to keep up with the young CM Punk. This proved difficult, as Punk put in another stand-out performance, carrying this match with the veteran. Punk looked to hit the Go To Sleep, when suddenly Edge hit the ring and took Punk out from behind, causing the DQ. Winner at 7:48 CM Punk Rating: B JBL tells Edge to keep attacking Punk, but he himself leaves the ring and retakes his place on the announce table. Cole: Oh my god! What the hell are you doing? If you want to weaken Punk, do it your damn self! You agreed to this match and now look! Edge just hit a brutal Edgecution on CM Punk, our Smackdown superstar! JBL: I did what I had to do to beat some respect into this kid! I gave Edge a backstage pass and access to the arena tonight, and I’m glad he’s teaching Punk a lesson! And you know what…Punk should have got me to shake his hand and agree on the stipulations I made. I’m still gonna step in this ring whenever I damn want! Edge is still battering CM Punk, eventually ending it with a Spear. Rating: A* Christian vs. Batista vs. This was just awesome and thankfully they have great chemistry! Batista dominated the first couple of minutes, but Christian eventually built momentum. In the 8th minute he went for an Unprettier, but Batista powered out and hit a Batista Bomb for the win. Winner at 9:34 Batista Rating: B+ After the match, Kane runs to the ring and start to attack Batista. It doesn’t last long though, as Lashley and Ken Kennedy run to the ring and help out the Animal. Eventually it’s 3-on-1 as they all hit their respective finishers on the Big Red Machine, before leaving him hurt in the centre of the ring. Rating: B Non-title: WWE Ultimate Wrestling Champion Randy Orton vs. John Cena vs. The Undertaker vs. Booker T vs. vs. vs. This was predictably fantastic, and all four men really went all-out for this. Orton nearly picked up the win in the 8th minute with a brutal RKO on Booker T, but the Smackdown saviour kicked out just before 3. Undertaker hit a Tombstone on Randy Orton in the 10th minute, but Cena broke up the pin attempt, only to get hit with a Book End. Sadly, he had enough left to kick out. A few minutes later, Cena hit the F-U on Undertaker and got the win over the Raw Superstar. Winner at 14:38 John Cena Rating: B+ FINAL RATING: B+, success

Deville dominated for just over 1 and a half minutes, pinning McGeorge with a Powerbomb. Winner at 1:39 Dorian Deville Rating: D Deville is still in the ring, a monster of a man. Eric Bischoff comes down to the ring with a huge grin on his face. Bischoff: Steve Austin…look at this man! I’d say he’s the best signing either of us has made this year. Oh wait…YOU have yet to make a good signing! In fact, you haven’t made any yet. You’ve made a total of 1 match, and I think you’re just a crap general manager. So, I’m going to get you out! This man is huge…6’7”…330 lbs! Rewind the DVD of the show later tonight and re-watch his match. I really would advise it, because I’ve made a huge executive decision. At Judgement Day, Deville will make his pay-per-view debut! His opponent…is YOU! Stone Cold Steve Austin versus Dorian Deville! If Deville wins…well, Austin…you’re out! Sure, you can wrestle, but you’re not fit enough to do that regularly! But you will lose ALL power you currently have. And that’s the bottom line, cos Eric Bisch- Rating: B- Glass smashes, and Steve Austin walks to the ring. Bischoff tells Deville to go backstage. Austin doesn’t give Eric any time to say anything else, instead taking him right down with a Lou Thez Press and delivering huge punches to the side of his head. He picks him up and hits the Stunner, before having a beer bash. Dykstra looked like stealing the win a few times during the match, but in the end a Super Kick from Palumbo earned him a shot at the Intercontinental Title. Winner at 7:11 Chuck Palumbo Rating: C Palumbo is standing tall at the end of the match, celebrating his huge return win! Suddenly, Johnny Nitro, Samoan Seanoa, Umaga and the IC Champion Shane McMahon hit the ring. Umaga and Seanoa hit a brutal Double Samoan Drop, followed by a Standing SSP by Nitro. Shane orders them to lift Palumbo up, and he charges and hits a painful low blow on his next challenger. Shane stays in the ring, because his non-title match is next. Rating: C+ Danielson makes his way to the ring, followed by Brock Lesnar and finally Shawn Michaels. vs. vs. vs. This was a good match, and Danielson is really getting some decent exposure. Not only is he in the ring with a legend (HBK) and a champion (Shane), but the 3 men he’s in the ring against are all huge draws. The match lasted for just over 10 minutes. Danielson locked in the Arms Across America on Shane. Just as it looked like the champ was going to tap out, Shawn hit a Sweet Chin Music out of nowhere on Brock (and out of Danielson’s view). He made the cover and got the win! Winner at 10:29 Shawn Michaels Rating: B The Heartbreak Kid celebrates in the ring for all the fans. He goes to each corner and applauds them, before doing his signature taunts in the centre of the squared circle. Rating: B+ JR: As promised, tonight we will see Chris Jericho in action against Carlito Caribbean Cool! Lawler: It should be awesome JR, both men are talented and athletic, it should be a great match-up! Rating: B JR: Wow, King! I’m getting news from the back that Y2J will not go one-on-one with Carlito! It’s going to be Jericho teaming up with Matt and Jeff- the Hardy Boyz! They’re going to be taking on the team of Carlito, Johnny Nitro and the debuting Ted Dibiase Jr! Rating: C Chris Jericho and The Hardys vs. Carlito Caribbean Cool, Johnny Nitro and Ted Dibiase Jr (w/ Ted Dibiase) && vs. && (w/ ) This was quite a good debut for Junior, but the rest can all do better, considering how excellent Jericho looked out there. He really got the other 5 into order and dragged a decent match out of Ted. In the end, Junior took the pin when Y2J hit a Running Enziguri for the win. Winners at 6:51 Chris Jericho and the Hardy Boyz Rating: C+ CM Punk enters first for his inter-brand match with Umaga. Before the Samoan Bulldozer can come out, he has something to say. Punk: Edge, I can beat Umaga! DQ or not, I defeated the Ultimate Wrestling Champion last week. Now, I would complain about wanting a proper, CLEAN victory, but to be honest it’s not necessary. First of all, Randy Orton is scum. Second of all, after I defeat you at Judgement Day in our Ladder Match I’ll get the chance to get a decisive win over Orton at the Great American Bash! It will be so sweet to beat both of you without the need of outside interference, just to prove that I am Straight Edge, I am Hardcore, I am CM Punk…and I’m better than you. Rating: B+ CM Punk vs. Umaga vs. This was a fantastic match for TV, going nearly quarter of an hour and full of near-falls. Umaga looked like a credible monster, continually beating Punk down with strikes and slams. Punk used his technical prowess to gain the advantage, but in the end Umaga got the win for Raw on his home turf with a Samoan Spike. Winner at 14:30 Umaga Rating: B+ Rated RKO (WWE Ultimate Wrestling Champion Randy Orton and Edge) vs. The Undertaker and Val Venis & vs. & This match was incredible, and Val Venis looked good in the contest. Rated RKO dominated with quick tags and cheap-shots, distracting the ref through-out to allow the other to cheat. In the end, however, the strength and experience of Taker and Val shone through, the match ending nearly 12 minutes in with a Spike Tombstone. Undertaker had Edge set up, when Venis flew off the top and pushed down on Edge’s legs, as Taker dropped, driving Edge head-first to the canvas. Winners at 11:24 The Undertaker and Val Venis Rating: A Following the match, the 2 teams begin to brawl again. Suddenly, Umaga runs to the ring and gives Rated RKO the numbers advantage. The three men beat down Undertaker and Venis, well suddenly CM Punk ran out to even things out. He hit the Go To Sleep on Edge, as Venis hit the Money Shot to the outside, taking out Umaga. Undertaker and Orton were brawling outside the ring. Security came out and dragged the heels up the ramp, with the final image of Raw being Undertaker, Venis and Punk staring down their respective opponents next week at Judgement Day. Rating: A* FINAL RATING: B+, Ted Dibiase Jr was used far too much. However, the show was a total success.
