S2W: A Midlife Crisis

Recommended Posts

I eyed the clock warily. 4:30. I let out a heavy sigh, and turned back to the computer to finish my nine to five. Didn't actually do anything, though, just stared. So, I wasn't all that distratcted with my friend Saul Stewart stopped by. "I just put in my resignation." Little did I know at the time just how much those words would change my life. Saul and I had been friends since high school. Went to the same college, same internship, which turned into working for the same company. So, when he stops by to tell me that he's leaving that company after we'd gone through so much together, I listen. "Yeah, I'm just tired of it here. I need a change." That was the beginning of it. Four years of high school, another four in college, and eight years at Initech, ITC, and now this. Two weeks later, Saul was out of a career, and we didn't get to hang out together for a full day for the first time in nearly two decades. Two weeks after that, he laid another bombshell. "My house is on the market. The realtor says she'll manage to sell it within a week." Ok. So, it was a bit early for it, but even at 29, Saul was going through a mid-life crisis. I could handle that. He'd splurge for a year or two, and then settle back down. A week after his house sold, he came over with a bundle of papers. We watched some tv, talked about nothing for hours. It wasn't until I indicated my need for sleep that he brought them up. "Incorporation papers. I want you as a partner." I didn't need a lawyer to tell me to refuse. I wasn't going to go in on his mid-life crisis and throw my own savings down the drain. "Then an employee, then. Head booker." Wait a minute. Head booker? What kind of incorporation was this? I took a closer look at the papers. "S2W is the future, Jack. I want you in on the ground floor, from the beginning. I want you there with me, like always. I'm not sure I could handle it alone." What the hell. You only live once, right? So, two weeks later, Initech ITC was no longer my career either. I was now looking at a blank roster, and a future of hungry nights. Would S2W make it? Only time would tell. -- I have added S2W and the owner Saul Stewart to the Cornellverse. Everything else remains the same. We have a jam-packed show for you tonight, capping off with a huge matchup to crown our first ever champion! Ted Ross: And just who are you talking to? There's more wrestlers here today than fans. LB: That may be so, Ted, but they're going to put on one heck of a show. For those who are just getting the DVD... TR: Who's going to buy that dreck? LB: ...For those who are just getting the DVD, three of our tournament matches have already taken place, with Kashmir Singh, Harry Wilson, and Dirty Frank already moving into the second round. TR: And sending the losers Tempest Appleby, Jack Sanders, and Ben Williams to some early showers. LB: But we're set to go with some more action, right now! Match 1 First Round Tournament Matchup #9 Alan Parent -vs- #8 Keith Vegas A matchup that the crowd really didn't get into, though Ted Ross managed to provide some bright spots. Vegas couldn't last the distance, though, tiring out, and finally succumbing to a Parent submission. Alan Parent in 8:58 by Submission (F+) Match 2 First Round Tournament Matchup #13 Romeo Romero -vs- #4 C. H. Threepwood The limitations of referee Alan Gray really came into play during this match, but the two competitors really stepped it up a notch. Shock victory came when Romero countered a move into a unique submission hold that Lee Bambino christened the Broken Heart. Romeo Romero in 8:56 by Broken Heart Submission (E) Match 3 First Round Tournament Matchup #12 Thomas Morgan -vs- #5 Elijah Harris Lee stunk up the joint, but the two men in the ring brought us to a new high. Morgan tried his best, but couldn't break through the veteran's ring presence, and fell victim to the Soul Train. Elijah Harris in 5:55 by Soul Train Pinfall (D-) Match 4 First Round Tournament Matchup #10 K-Squared -vs- #7 Crockett Tubbs These two men both wanted to win hard, but both tried to take the easy way out. After an excellent beginning to the match, Gray was forced to disqualify both men after some of the Gymnasium's wooden chairs were brought into the ring. Double Disqualification at 5:03 (E) Al Coleman: This tournament is a joke. Seriously. I mean, look at me. My body is a temple, and nobody here can take away from me what I deserve. They may as well have just handed me the belt. So why don't they just bring out the chump I have to beat up, and we can call this good. (E) Match 5 First Round Tournament Matchup #2 Al Coleman -vs- #15 Cal Sanders Al and Cal did their best to counter poor performances by the others involved in the match, namely Alan Gray and Lee Bambino. By the two minute mark, it was obvious who the victor was going to me, but Al kept the match going for nearly another five minutes before mercifully ending it. Al Coleman in 6:42 by Submission (E) Match 6 Second Round Tournament Matchup #1 Harry Wilson -vs- #9 Alan Parent Same old story with the reffing and announcing. Alan Parent tries to make it two-for-two after a minor upset in the first round, but just can't keep Wilson down on his multiple attempts, and eventually drops for the three-count himself. Harry Wilson in 8:53 by Pinfall (E) Match 7 Second Round Tournament Matchup #6 Kashmir Singh -vs- #3 Dirty Frank Kashmir Singh took control for much of this matchup, and seemed to have it in the bag around the six minute mark. But then, Alan Gray got distracted (poorly), and someone else ran into the ring. This odd looking man ran in, attacked Singh, and ran back out. Frank capitalized. Dirty Frank in 7:39 by Submission after Interference by ??? (E) Match 8 Second Round Tournament Matchup #13 Romeo Romero -vs- #5 Elijah Harris Romeo was hoping lightning would strike twice for him, after overcoming the #4 seed in the first round. It was not to be, however, as Harris was able to power through most pinning predicaments, and eventually just outlasted the youngster. Elijah Harris in 4:15 by Soul Train Pinfall (E) Lee Bambino: Ladies and... Ted Ross: Lady. There's only one in the crowd. Lee Bambino: Fine. Lady and Gentlemen. The final match of the second round would have seen Al Coleman take on the winner of K-Squared and Crockett Tubbs. As that match was declared a draw, however, Al Coleman takes this match by default, and will face Elijah Harris in the third round! (F) Match 9 Third Round Tournament Matchup #1 Harry Wilson -vs- #3 Dirty Frank Wilson was in control for most of the matchup, while Frank struggled just to find some momentum. He got some, though, at the last minute, pulling in the ring bell to ring Harry's bell. Unfortunately for him, Alan Gray woke up at that exact moment, and disqualified him. Harry Wilson in 10:04 by Disqualification (E) Match 10 Third Round Tournament Matchup #5 Elijah Harris -vs- #2 Al Coleman Coleman took quick advantage of the fact that he had more rest than his opponent, and Harris was never able to recover. Elijah kicked out of numerous pinfall attempts, and even got a way from one of Coleman's patented submissions at one point, but it just wasn't enough. Al Coleman in 10:37 by Pinfall (E) Harry Wilson: Ok. So I was seeing stars not too long ago. I've fought more matches tonight. But if there's one thing I've learned while I've been in this business, it's to never give up. As long as I can stand, I will remain alive, and I will walk out of here tonight the S2W Champion! Match 11 S2W Championship Two out of Three Falls Match #1 Harry Wilson -vs- #2 Al Coleman Wilson was good to his word, and took the fight to Coleman. Al, however, was fresher and less injured, and was able to sneak in a submission around the six minute mark. After Alan Gray separated them, Wilson came in with a new fire. He had Coleman in a pinning predicament, but found it reversed, as Coleman grabbed the tights. Al Coleman in 14:40 2 falls to 0. (E) Your NEW S2W Champion, Al Coleman! Lee Bambino: That's all for us tonight folks. Hope you enjoyed the two hours of work we put on for you. See you next month! S2W is pleased to announce that we have come to agreements with both Mid Atlantic Wrestling (MAW) and Rhode Island Pro Wrestling (RIPW) for future coordination. We hope that this will lead to good things down the line. S2W announced today that is has released Alan Gray from their roster. They wish him well in his future endeavours. Replacing him as the lead referee will be Jonathan Taylor. S2W has also announced that they will be bringing in Remmington Remus to act as the voice of the promotion. There was some outcry over the poor performance of Lee Bambino, so Remmington will be replacing Lee in the announce booth with Ted Ross. No word yet on the status of Lee Bambino's contract. S2W has released their monthly rankings of their top workers. Head Booker Jack Sanders was quoted as saying that they envision these rankings as a top-20, but since they don't have that many workers on the payroll, well, the top 16 will have to do. 1: S2W Champion Al Coleman (+1) 2: Harry Wilson (-1) 3: Dirty Frank (0) 4: Elijah Harris (+1) 5: Kashmir Singh (+1) 6: C.H. Threepwood (-2) 7: Crockett Tubbs (0) 8: Alan Parent (+1) 9: Keith Vegas (-1) 10: Romeo Romero (+3) 11: K-Squared (-1) 12: Ben Williams (-1) 13: Thomas Morgan (-1) 14: Jack Sanders (0) 15: Cal Sanders (0) 16: Tempest Appleby (0)
S2W PRESENTS Barnstorm February is Rematch month, as Barnstorm brings in a number of rematches from last month's Raising the Roof. K-Squared and Crockett Tubbs fought to a draw last month, forcing both of them out of the tournament. This time, the rankings committee wants a decisive victory. Dirty Frank had some help from an outside source to win his second round matchup. He came up short in the end, but can we expect more help this month when he takes on Kashmir Singh? Harry Wilson requested a rematch for the S2W championship, claiming that circumstances had given Al Coleman an unfair advantange in their match. He has been obliged, so Coleman will be forced to defend his newly won S2W Championship in a true rematch of Raising the Roof, a Two out of Three Falls matchup. K-Squared v Crockett Tubbs Squared is definitely someone an ultra small promotion can build around. Dirty Frank v Kashmir Singh I've always liked Singh. Harry Wilson v S2W Champion Al Coleman in a Two out of Three Falls match for the S2W championship Way too soon for Coleman to drop the title. I'd love to see him built up as a strong champ!

Al Coleman: For some reason, I didn't think that Harry Wilson would be a child about this. I mean, it's obvious I'm the better man. Seriously, you didn't even get a single fall on me at Raising the Roof. What makes you think you'll do any better tonight? Get a grip, Wilson. Hernandez nailed Frank with an Apparition #14 while Taylor was expertly checking on Singh, and then lef the ring. S2W would like to extend congratulations to their sister federations MAW and RIPW, who both have been recognized by the finest in pro wrestling publications as Small sized federations. The monthly rankings for March 2007 have been released. Not a lot of movement this month, but the addition of Mainstream Hernandez did push a lot of the undercard to a lower numerical position. 1: S2W Champion Al Coleman (0) 2: Harry Wilson (0) 3: Elijah Harris (+1) 4: Mainstream Hernandez (NR) 5: Dirty Frank (-2) 6: Kashmir Singh (-1) 7: C.H. Threepwood (-1) 8: Alan Parent (0) 9: Keith Vegas (0) 10: Crockett Tubbs (-3) 11: Romeo Romero (-1) 12: K-Squared (-1) 13: Ben Williams (-1) 14: Thomas Morgan (-1) 15: Jack Sanders (-1) 16: Cal Sanders (-1) 17: Tempest Appleby (-1) S2W PRESENTS Fame and Fortune In a second-chance match from Raising the Roof, C.H. Threepwood gets a chance to avenge his loss when he takes on Romeo Romero again. Will he come out on top this time? The chance of a lifetime presents itself with this match, however, as Saul Stewart has determined that the winner gets a shot at the S2W Championship next month at Glory and Honor. In a match signed last month, MAW's Mainstream Hernandez has come into S2W with a purpose, and has decided to take Dirty Frank down a peg or two. After Hernandez cost him a match against Kashmir Singh last month at Barnstorm, Frank is sure to be after blood. One has to wonder, also, if Frank's mysterious assistant will take note of this match. S2W Champion Al Coleman wanted the night off, but our owner Saul Stewart would hear none of it, and has decided that Elijah Harris would get a shot at the title this month. Harris had a good run through the tournament, but was defeated by Coleman himself in the second round. Will the return match turn out better for the veteran, or will Coleman retain? Threepwood Even though Threepwood is technically a heel, he got a little bit of face heat from the crowd after Romeo tried to woo the two females present in the audience, to the dismay of their dates. This match took both men to near their breaking points, but it was Romero who gave out first. C. H. Threepwood in 13:08 by Pinfall (E) Mainstream Hernandez: The Mainstream is here! It's true, I have been officially asked to represent Mid Atlantic Wrestling here in S2W. And my first match is coming up quickly here. But before it gets started, I have something to let you all know. See, I know what kind of a competitor Dirty Frank is. Let's take a look at what he's accomplished so far in S2W. He won a match after interference. He won a match when he cheated. He lost a match, because he got disqualified. And last week, his little buddy tried to take out his opponent before the match. MH: Well, I've got news for you Frank. I'm smarter than that. I pulled in a few favors, and got ol' Rip to send something to S2W along with me. So Frank, get ready for a Cage Match! (E) Match 2 Cage Classic Match #4 Mainstream Hernandez -vs- #5 Dirty Frank Dirty Frank certainly played up the fear of the cage as he came out, looking around like he was trying to find a way out of the gym. Hernandez just grinned at him, as the pair watched the cage go up. Once the match started, Frank kept trying to climb over the cage, causing Remmington Remus to crow "Can't win that way, Frank!" Eventually, he tried to take the fight back to Mainstream, but it was too late, and the Super Kick finished it. Mainstream Hernandez in 10:48 by Super Kick Pinfall (F+) Mainstream Hernandez: Well, that was fun. But while they're taking down the cage, I have something else to say. Al Coleman! Assuming you make it through the night tonight with your belt, next month, I want a shot at it. Yeah, I may be from MAW, but you were a little punk when you were there, and I can't imagine you've matured any. Al Coleman: Mainstream, I got the hell out of MAW when I did because you and Rip were holding me back. I've proved that fact by winning the belt here. Now you come into my house, and asking for a shot? Well, I'll prove that I'm the better man by defeating you next month. You're on! (D-) Match 3 For the S2W Championship #3 Elijah Harris -vs- #1 Al Coleman (Champion) This match probably went on a little too long, but neither man could keep the other down. Coleman kicked out of at least a dozen pinning situations, and Harris fought off as many submission attempts, mostly by getting to the ropes. Harris eventually succumbed to exhaustion more than anything, just lacking the energy to kick out of one last pinning attempt. Al Coleman in 15:47 by Pinfall (E) Still your S2W Champion, Al Coleman! Remmington Remus: And that'll about do it for us this month. Glad you all could make it, and we hope to see you next month.
Quick Results C.H. Ah well, the show itself came out well with a strong opening and an equally strong ending. Fourteen people today. We bounced back from February, and even gained one! We're here, and S2W has gone a great show for you tonight, with our first ever triple threat main event. But that comes later, let's just get right into the action now. Match 1 #15 Jack Sanders -vs- #10 Crockett Tubbs An awkward bout that Remmington and Ted did their best to bring up. A number of near falls on both sides almost saw Jack Sanders picking up his first win, but then K-Squared made an appearance, attacking Tubbs and laying him out. Jonathan Taylor had no choice but to disqualify Sanders. Crockett Tubbs in 12:35 by Disqualification after K-Squared run-in (E-) Mainstream Hernandez: MAW in the house! Here for S2W's fourth show, you get to see the Mainstream in the Main Event, where he belongs. Tonight, I get to show Al Coleman just what it means to be a champion. I get to show him why he never cut it in MAW. Tonight, I will walk out of here YOUR NEW! S2W Champion. And C.H. Threepwood? Well, icing on the cake. Threep, just stay out of my way, and we'll be cool. Got it? Good. (E-) K-Squared comes running out of the locker room, followed closely by Crockett Tubbs. Squared gets thrown into a bunch of empty chairs at ringside, and is laid out. Tubbs smirks, and walks back into the locker room. (F-) Remmington Remus: Well, I don't know what that means, as K-Squared was scheduled for our next match. In fact, here comes our other competitor now...ah, looks like Keith Vegas has decided to step in. He nods at Williams, and I guess this match is underway! Match 2 #13 Ben Williams -vs- #9 Keith Vegas Neither of these guys can really tell a story, so this match seemed to be more a series of moves than a real match. Still, Remus and Ross did a good job keeping the crowd up. Eventually, Williams fell on top of Vegas when both men were shaky on their feet to get the pinfall. Ben Williams in 7:05 by pinfall (F) Al Coleman: Yeah, you all heard from Mr. MAW himself earlier tonight. But seriously, folks. Do you think I look this good from not trying? Do you think I am your first, best, and only S2W champion for no reason? This belt here belongs in S2W, and there's no way in hell I'm letting Mainstream walk away with it. It is mine now, and at the end of the night, it'll still be mine. (F+) Remmington Remus: I noticed that he didn't even touch on his second opponent. I wonder what that'll do for Threepwood's morale? Threepwood -vs- #1 Al Coleman (Champion) Wow. This is, without a doubt, the best match that S2W has put on yet. All three men put on one hell of a show, with near falls and saves abounding. Remus and Ross actually had a hard time keeping up with the wrestlers. Hernandez hit the Apparition #14 on Threepwood, covered, and was pulled off by Coleman. Piledriver got a two, with Threepwood getting involved to break the pin. Hernandez and Coleman worked together briefly to send Threepwood to the outside, where he tumbled into the announce table. That ended all too quickly as Coleman pulls out the victory. MAW has called Mainstream Hernandez home, so this will be his final month in our rankings, as we enter the month of May. Al Coleman continues his dominance on the charts, remaining undefeated through a full third of the year. Meanwhile, on the other end of the charts, Jack Sanders remains without a win, and falls to the bottom of the top 20. Frank hasn't been heard of since losing the cage match where his enforcer was taken out of the equation--will we see this mysterious figure this month? Romero had an early advantage, but Appleby was in the midst of a standard face comback when he was clocked upside the head by the ringbell as it was held by Al Coleman. Jonathan Taylor ended the match, calling it a no contest after Coleman laid out Romero as well. I can take all of you at once, so watch yourselves. Last month, I proved that I was the champion of champions. I sent Mainstream Hernandez back home to MAW licking his wounds--you won't see him around here for some time. And now, Threepwood thinks he didn't get a fair shake, and that he should get another shot at my title. Get Real! But, unfortunately, I'm subject to the whims of our owner, and he's forcing me to put the belt on the line tonight. But Threepwood, beware. I am the best in the company, I have the belt for a reason. If you ever get to be as good as I am, then you're welcome to the belt, but for now, I'm so far above the competition here in S2W that it's not even funny. Stretch the Chicken Boy debuts on the chart, taking the spot previously occupied by Mainstream Hernandez, but several positions lower, granting much of the uppercard a small boost. Having defeated numbers 2-4 on the rankings, Saul Stewart has decided that a match will be held to determine the #1 Contender among the remainder of the roster. S2W has it's second triangle match as Kashmir Singh, Dirty Frank, and Alan Parent face off to see who earns the right to face Al Coleman at From the Ashes. Debuting officially last month, this month sees Stretch the Chicken Boy in solo action, taking on the veteran Elijah Harris. Saul Stewart made note of the fact that the matchup of Crockett Tubbs and K-Squared has yet to be resolved with any finality, and has booked the two of them together again. Will we finally get a definitive winner? And opening the show, the young wrestlers Thomas Morgan and Cal Sanders face off, with the intentions of moving up the rankings and hopefully getting some more notice.

I'm Remmington Remus, the voice of S2W, here as always with my partner Ted Ross. Ted Ross: Upset to be here, as usual. Maybe someday we'll get some good action going on in our ring. RR: Like our first matchup. Young men both, and both with extremely high potential. Let's get right to the action. Tonight, you have the honor of seeing me in a triangle match, where the winner gets a shot at the S2W Championship. I have not yet had a good shot, and I look forward to proving myself worthy tonight. Some tough competition to go through though, with both Dirty Frank and Alan Parent in my way. Frank, Alan, I'll see you later. (F+) Match 2 #11 K-Squared -vs- #10 Crockett Tubbs These two men showed their chemistry again, and put on a good match, though it got a bit slow in the middle. The reason for that became apparent, though, as Tubbs started to get tired, and the match just...stopped. After a brief rest hold, Tubbs released Squared, and the two of them walked away from the ring, to the dismay of Remus and Ross. Jonathan Taylor had no choice, and both men got counted out. Tonight, though, I do. Stretch, I don't like your methods. I don't like the way you came into S2W. I don't like your employer. I don't like you. And tonight, all that dislike is going to come out when I face you in the ring. Tonight... (E-) Frank and Stretch make their way out to the ring, circling around and flanking Elijah Harris on either side. He drops the microphone and tells them to bring it, so they do. Elijah Harris in 13:48 by Soul Train pinfall. (E-) Alan Parent: Tonight is the chance of a lifetime. Tonight, I get my shot at the S2W Championship. Oh, I hear you out there, saying that tonight is a #1 Contenders match. But really, tonight is all about giving me a shot. Put me in with two chumps? You might as well just hand me the contract right now. But I see the chumps want into the ring, so come on, folks. Let's get this going. (F+) Match 4 #1 Contender's Match #5 Kashmir Singh -vs- #6 Dirty Frank -vs- #7 Alan Parent Frank's bodyguard was nowhere to be seen for this match, and that seemed to freak him out more than anything, and allowed much of this match to be contested between Parent and Singh. Both were true to their words, Singh playing to the crowd and trying to prove he was worthy of a shot, and Parent acting completely ****y, going so far as to try a one-finger pin at one point that got a two. It wouldn't be enough, though, to avoid the pinfall, nor would Frank manage to make it back into the ring in time when he noticed the danger. Kashmir Singh in 15:32 by Pinfall over Alan Parent (D-) Remmington Remus: That's it for tonight, folk....what the hell? Al Coleman rushes the ring, taking out the exhausted Kashmir Singh from behind, laying the boots into him. Singh reacts, trying to fight him off, but has just been through a long match and can't get any momentum going. Harry Wilson rushes out shortly after, and drives Coleman off long enough for Singh to get out of the ring. He dares Coleman to come at him, and the champion obliges. (F+) Match 5 #2 Harry Wilson -vs- #1 Al Coleman An impromptu matchup, and not for the title, these two men laid into each other with ferocity. It's a hell of a match, and the crowd really gets behind it, as neither man holds anything back. Multiple near falls, submission holds that are barely made to the ropes, and at one point, nearly a double-knockout. Newsbites Poor performances in the last month have caused TCW's stock to drop, and wrestlers to jump ship, as they're now considered no more than a cult sensation. S2W Preview Major shakeups in the rankings this month, as Dirty Frank's losing ways continue, dropping him in the rankings, while Elijah Harris pulling off the win after a major beatdown pushes him above Harry Wilson. Rumour has it Harry Wilson will be present, as well, to make sure that a repeat of last months actions don't take place. Alan Parent was upset over his loss last month, and has demanded a match this month. This has been answered, as he gets a match against Jack Sanders this month. Also, Thomas Morgan looks to use his momentum from last month in a match with Romeo Romero this month.

Al Coleman: People have been talking all month about what I did to Kashmir Singh at Hell on Earth. They're saying how I'm a coward for attacking the man from behind. That I don't deserve this belt. That I'm afraid of Singh. Well, let me tell you all this right here, right now. Kashmir Singh does not deserve to even work the same ring as me, yet there he is, month after month. I am perfection incarnate, and he--well, let's just say that he isn't. I am the champion, and I will destroy him tonight. Last month was just a preview. Oh...and if Harry Wilson deigns to get involved tonight, I'll destroy him, too. (F+) Remmington Remus: Strong words from our champion. But as he makes his way to the back, it's time for our first matchup. After we kept getting thrust into matches against each other, here we are. Crockett Tubbs: As you may have noticed, we have our own way of viewing things. And last month, the two of us realized something. KS: We realized that we were being kept in matches against the other, because together, we could own this join. CT: So, we walked out. And now, we will take S2W by storm. KS: We are The Degenerates. And right now, we're extending a challenge. CT: Any pair of workers in S2W get together, train, and come next month to face us. Al Coleman did his best to take Singh down, but the challenger had an answer for everything that the champion could dish out, and countered most attempts at pinfalls or submissions. Singh was having trouble himself, though, as he couldn't get the champion to stay down. Newsbites Mainstream Hernandez signed with SWF, gaining a shot at the Shooting Star title in his very first match. He lost, and was released the next day after word came in that the SWF had fallen to cult size. That means he doesn't have any contracts at the moment. Surely those companies he had worked for before SWF will come calling at his door. S2W Preview The S2W Top 20 for August 2007 have been released, and as expected, there aren't many shakeups. Last month, Al Coleman used the ring bell in order to retain his championship. This month, that's entirely legal as the two face off in a match with No Disqualifications for the S2W Championship. Alan Parent challenged for a championship match last month, but Saul has intervened again, and has determined he still has to prove himself. This month, he takes on Elijah Harris in a #1 Contenders matchup. Also, Harry Wilson has indicated that he will be answering the challenge of The Degenerates, who announced their formation as a team last month. Who will his partner be?

Sanders was cut off from his corner for nearly five minutes, and when he finally managed to make the tag, Appleby fell prey to a vicious double-team move, and Tubbs scored the pinfall. Crockett Tubbs in 8:41 over Tempest Appleby by Crime Pays (E+) The Degenerates weren't done yet, though. After celebrating their win, they turn back and attack their opponents mercilessly, until the road agent and referee were able to convince them to leave. They did so, celebrating the entire way. (F-) Alan Parent: Well, will you look at that. Here it is, September. Two months have passed since I first challenged Al Coleman for his title. And...oops! He's not here. Gee, I wonder why that is? Maybe it's because he's afraid of me? He managed to duck my challenge last month, and I got put in a #1 contenders match...which I won. Al, you can duck me this month, but next month, come October? Al, I'm taking that belt away from you, and putting it around my waist where it belongs. (F+) Elijah Harris: So, the #1 Contender is all boastful now. Yeah, you beat me last month, Alan, but I happen to think that was a fluke. So what do you say? How about tonight, we face off again, and you put that title shot on the line against me. I happen to think that I'll walk away with the shot. And since you don't have anything else to do tonight... AP: You're on, old man. Harris took control early, as he said he would, but he was unable to put the #1 Contender down for the count, as time after time, Parent would kick out. Parent would take over with a well-timed low blow, and after that it was all Parent all the time. An exhausted Harris finally succumbed to a pinfall, trying and failing to kick out. Remmington Remus and Ted Ross tell us that this new duo to S2W, both of them with relatives in the business, who had come to the states after exploring the Amazon, and apparently getting trained to fight by some tribesmen there. The Degenerates laughed off the newcomers, but soon found themselves getting outclassed. Tubbs left the ring to get some 'help', but by the time he got back, the match was over. Both men did a good job with the dirty tactics, and for some reason, the referee never seemed to notice. Though at one point, Remus remarked that Taylor was noticing the cheap tactics, but ignoring them since both men seemed intent on using them. For all the cheap tactics used, though, it was a clean victory, with Coleman using a sidewalk slam for the victory. As both the economy and the industry are rising now, we can only expect this to increase. Slightly disappointed with the results tonight, as the match of the night was the opener, but I'm looking forward to the future. Newsbites With the wrestling industry on a rising cycle again, both TCW and SWF have returned to their former sizes, as TCW is now a National promotion, and SWF has reached International. S2W Preview The Amazon Wanderers, Casey Valentine and Ash Campbell, have hit the charts with high rankings, taking down the Degenerates in their debut matchup. The November charts also show Wilson's rise in the rankings after winning the #1 Contenders spot last month. 1: S2W Champion Al Coleman (0) 2: Alan Parent (0) 3: Harry Wilson (+3) 4: C.H. Threepwood (-1) 5: Elijah Harris (-1) 6: Kashmir Singh (-1) 7: Ash Campbell (NR) 8: Casey Valentine (NR) 9: Crockett Tubbs (-2) 10: K-Squared (-2) 11: Thomas Morgan (-2) 12: Tempest Appleby (0) 13: Romeo Romero (-3) 14: Cal Sanders (-3) 15: Jack Sanders (-2) S2W PRESENTS Blood Sport Young wrestler Tempest Appleby got a huge burst of momentum last month with a victory over MAW's Erik Strong. He looks to utilize that momentum this month when he takes on S2W's resident veteran Elijah Harris. Ash Campbell and Casey Valentine, both with a legacy in the business, made a big impact last month, taking down the Degenerates. They call themselves the Amazon Wanderers, and this month, both men are in singles action. Ash Campbell takes on Cal Sanders, while Casey Valentine gets a shot at C.H. Threepwood. Undoubtedly, victories will propel them to new heights. S2W's first and only champion Al Coleman remains undefeated in the promotion, but the title he holds has a bullseye on it, with long time foe Harry Wilson taking aim. Wilson got the #1 Contenders spot after a hard-fought victory over C.H. Threepwood last month, and at Blood Sport, he and Coleman face each other one more time.

Ted Ross: I still don't really know why everyone shows up here. I mean, I have an excuse. RR: And what's that? TR: I'm getting paid to be here. RR: Ah. Championship matchup tonight is a must-see event, as Harry Wilson gets another shot at the title. TR: But first... RR: Yes, but first, young Tempest Appleby looks to make it two in a row! Match 1 #12 Tempest Appleby -vs- #5 Elijah Harris Harris made Appleby look like a million bucks in this matchup, as the veteran and the rising star put on a hell of a match. As good as last months, Appleby again picking up the win. Tempest Appleby in 9:25 by Pinfall (D-) Ash Cambpell: It is good to see the inside of a wrestling ring back home, isn't it? Casey Valentine: It sure is. As much as I liked the amazon, a good burger is something worth having. AC: Now, last month, we showed up those brats the Degenerates. This month, no offense to our worthy opponents, but we're going to start picking up singles victories too. CV: You want to go first? Ok then, Cal Sanders, get out here! (E-) Match 2 #14 Cal Sanders -vs- #7 Ash Campbell (w/Casey Valentine) This was a squash match from the beginning, though Sanders did try to put up a little bit of a fight. It just wasn't enough to break through the rookie's fire. Ash Campbell in 4:45 by Shooting Star Press Pinfall (E+) Match 3 #8 Casey Valentine (w/Ash Campbell) -vs- #4 C. H. Threepwood Valentine had more trouble with his opponent did, but Campbell's shouting encouragement at him from the sidelines was able to keep him out of trouble for the most part. Still, he had a tough fight when Threepwood locked on a submission hold, and only a surge of adrenaline got him to the ropes in time to keep from tapping out. That proved to be the end for Threepwood, though, as his morale just seemed to give out after that. Casey Valentine in 9:10 by Pinfall (D-) Valentine and Campbell are still in the ring celebrating their respective victories when Squared and Tubbs rise from the crowd, jumping into the ring and taking down the newcomers. Campbell is able to put up a bit of a fight, but it's just not enough, and soon the Degenerates are celebrating instead. (F+) Harry Wilson: I'm out here for one reason, and one reason only. Al Coleman, you've proven yourself to be a better man than me in the past. In fact, I've had my shot at the title. Even though I earned another shot last month, I don't think I deserve it again. Not yet. There is one, though, who I think does deserve a shot. Someone this crowd has never seen face you for the belt. In fact, it's someone that this crowd, nor you, I don't believe, has ever seen at all. So tonight, Coleman, you won't be defending your title against me. No, tonight, you will be defending your title, and unless I miss my guess losing that title, to this man right here... Ross: "Obviously, he prepared for Wilson, not this masked clown." Still, he hands over the belt, and the match is on. And what a matchup, as these two men leave everything in the ring. Mask goes down first, as Coleman locks on a submission, but he's able to fight out of it, and drops to the ground for a breather. Coleman is the next to suffer a near fall to a frankensteiner, but gets a foot on the ropes. The crowd is on their feet as Mask fights back from a period of Coleman domination, and lifts the champion to the top rope....and gets the pin! Fox Mask in 16:09 by Fox Flip Off DDT Pinfall (D-) NEW S2W Champion, Fox Mask (1x) Fox Mask is handed the belt, and celebrates in the ring to the delight of the fans. Coleman looks disgusted, but makes his way out quietly, as the newcomer puts the belt on, and celebrates some more. (E-) Remmington Remus: Winning the championship in his debut match in S2W, folks! How's that for excitement. Ted Ross: Does he even have a contract with us? Remmington Remus: I guess he must, if he got the shot! But we'll find out more in December. Be sure to return!
Quick Results Tempest Appleby over Elijah Harris (D-) Ash Campbell over Cal Sanders (E+) Casey Valentine over C. H. Threepwood (D-) Fox Mask over Al Coleman (D-) to win the S2W Championship
Booker's Notes Our attendance record continues to rise, as we hit 33 paid tickets this month. We're at 10% capacity at the gymnasium! Not only that, but we had our first championship change, and one of our best shows so far. Blood Sport turned out the way I'd hoped it would, in nearly every way. Turned out a little high on the salary end of things, but that's the cost of doing business, sometimes.
