Deiniol Posted June 18, 2007 Posted June 18, 2007 I recently started playing and i'm using the 1997 data and running ECW. When certain people have matches it says that the crowd treats them with utter contempt (currently had it happen to New Jack, Rikishi and Samu). What's the reason for this and is there anyway to turn the crowd round or are they gonna hate these guys forever? Also for some reason they "crap on everything" Kronus does, anyway I can fix that too whilst i'm at it or is he doomed?
Remianen Posted June 18, 2007 Posted June 18, 2007 If you're familiar with ECW (the real one, not WWECW), you probably remember how Tommy Dreamer was treated. You might also remember what his standing was with the fans when ECW went bellyup. How'd he get from Point A to Point B? That's what you have to do with the workers the crowd dislikes. It can be done (or so Adam has said), you just have to do it successfully. What "it" is, may vary from worker to worker or promotion to promotion but you need to find "it" and do "it". The reason for it lies in the amount of Cult (and Risque?) in your promotion product. The help files tell you exactly which it is (the one(s) that mention "vocal crowds").
shamelessposer Posted June 19, 2007 Posted June 19, 2007 As far as I've been able to tell, there seems to be a pretty strong correlation between wrestlers being treated with contempt and having really low "basics" stats. Do all of these guys have a C or lower? If so, it might be your problem.

But given the fact that several people have noted Vin Tanner (among others) in DAVE getting this treatment, and his Basics is B range, I don't think it's that simple. Tank Bradley too, and his basics is C+.
falling_star Posted June 19, 2007 Posted June 19, 2007 I'm not sure what causes it, but it IS possible to get them past it. I was playing a CVerse game where I started up my own fed along the lines of Pro Wrestling Reborn in The Fall (called it NEO Pro Wrestling). Rudy Velasquez got that note to begin with, but after churning out some damn good matches with the likes of Steve Flash, Plague, Ultimate Phoenix (and a few three-way dances against them and the likes of The Great Hisato) the crowd let up.
Deiniol Posted June 19, 2007 Author Posted June 19, 2007 Thanks, for that. It was the fact that they hated New Jack that got me most cos he was well loved by the ECW crowd. Ah well, need to sign some decent tag teams to feud with the samoans then.
Twilight Posted June 19, 2007 Posted June 19, 2007 Is this the same with all workers who don't get a good reaction from the crowds? Can you win them over eventually?... somehow?
Nightshadeex Posted June 21, 2007 Posted June 21, 2007 I'm having problems wih Gargantuan. I think it's because his size, looks, and star quality far outweigh is in ring ability. He seems to be the kind of guy that smarks would hate.
Corey_Vandal Posted June 21, 2007 Posted June 21, 2007 I always thought it would be cool if you could make the fans pop like crazy by booking them in the wrong end of a 1 minute burial. It always workwed in ECW when they brought in some random roided guy for Taz to squash......
