How far have you got on DOTT?

Recommended Posts

Well im WWF and i have took them to international size. WCCW and AWA have both rose to national size and MACW is on the brink of going national. in 1984 i mostly had Bob Backlund fued with Sgt. Slaughter before have him lose the WWF Title to Billy Graham. I had Backlund win the title back after a 4 Month Reign for Graham but Backlund signed to tour with AGPW so i had him drop the belt to Graham again. then in early 84 i had Andre The Giant take the belt for 2 Month's. I also signed Hogan in late 83 and started pushing him to the moon. at Wrestlemania I i had Hogan beat Andre to get his first title reign and he held the belt for a year. Then at Wrestlemania II in 85 Andre Returned the favor from the previous year and beat Hogan to end his reign. Andre held the belt to Summerslam where Hogan won it back.Hogan held the belt for a year once again and lost it to Macho Man at Summerslam 86 and Macho Man is my current reigning champion and has been in a long grueling fued with Hogan since winning the title.Hogan Just one the 1st Royal Rumble. i signed up a bunch of names like The British Bulldogs,The Hart Foundation,Undertaker,Roddy Piper,Ted Dibiase,King Kong Bundy,Jerry Lawler etc...... MACW has pretty let all there start main eventers(Flair,Rhode and Wahoo Etc) and push Billy Jack Haynes and The Junkyard Dog. AWA has great roster including Ric Flair,Dusty Rhodes, Adrian Adonis etc.... WCCW has Stayed true and all the Von Erichs are Main Eventing now CSW is Basiclly Pushing Leo Burke and Bruce Hart since i stole Bret Hart,Jim Neidhart and The British Bulldogs.

I haven't played DOTT much in this game. But in TEW05, I got a few months in. Not quite a full year, though. But, I was playing as AWA, and I signed guys like Steamboat, Rhodes, Flair, and Piper, and I kept guys like Hogan, Bockwinkel, and others. Which resulted in a pretty darn good main event picture. If I were to play DOTT in this game, I'd likely do the same thing. Play as AWA, and sign up some of the bigger names.

I'm playing AWA and I've only gotten to August in 1983. I've risen from Regional to Cult and I've signed Sgt. Slaughter, Manny Fernandez, Larry Zybysko, Jake Roberts, and the Original Midnight Express (Dennis Condrey and Randy Rose). Currently Manny Fernandez is my World Champion and he is surprisingly over, I created a midcard belt called the American National Title which is currently held by David "Dr. D" Schultz (after starting out with Rick Martel). I'm slowly building popularity with a main event roster of Manny Fernandez, Sgt. Slaughter, Nick Bockwinkle, Wahoo McDaniels, Mr. Wrestling II (another signing), and Larry Zybysko. Nick Bockwinkle is my MVP as he's gotten A matches with Wahoo and Rick Martel while getting B+'s with Manny Fernandez, Mr. Wrestling II, and Baron Von Raschke.

I actually got to around 1993, and then I lost all my data from having to wipe my computer clean and start over (Virus). This happened quite a while back... and I was playing my own promotion. WWE had gone bankrupt in the first couple of years, outside of that nothing spectacular except... Well, I know other's have gone to Global starting from nothing in like a two year period, but I was only breaking out of cult (went from Cult to International though, skipped National). The name of my Promotion was UWE, and I was trying to build up a really big history for it, then perhaps transfer data over to 1RC (for my promotion) to continue in the modern era... I probably would have done it sooner with one of the 90's mod sets had I been able to keep my game. I haven't had the heart to play a game since then, outside of a new game I started right before I got the virus (and I started a Dynasty on the boards here, but didn't continue it...Might pick it up again if I can get the roster set back up and get into it).

Currently June 1985 (game starts in 83), and still going. As WWF, Vince is my boss, and blocked me from raiding talent from other leagues at first, so my world is totally different. I love DOTT over modern mods because I'm an old-school fan. I'm not really into the current state of wrestling. Currently running one month show (1.5 to 2 hour range), 3 hour show, 1 hour TV show, 1.5 hour TV show, and one midweek show of variable length, depending on how many workers I have to placate. Due to the # of shows I'm booking, it's slow to get far. WWF, Georgia (thanks to their TBS deal) Mid-Atlantic, AWA, World Class, Mid-South are the big wigs (still cult). The race to National is the fuel of this mod. New Japan (Inoki) folded! So did Mid-Southern (Lawler), Southwest (Blanchard) and several others. Here's a listing of guys who are VERY over on this world (all leagues): Andre- no one's National yet, so he has been a free agent for over a year. Flair, NWA kingpin. Sgt Slaughter, my WWE (I have two Main Event World Titles) champ. Jerry Lawler, my WWF champ, having finally ended Bob Backlund's reign. Adrian Street, who I picked up as a free agent, and pushed to the top to a nice WWE championship run. Tully Blanchard, who was a made man already, became super-over as my brief Intercontinental Champ. I had him form a WWF version of the 4H. Greg Valentine, NWA Main Eventer. Roddy Piper, down for a year with injury in the NWA. Jake Roberts, Tommy Rich, Chris Adams, and Buzz Sawyer who had various AWA and NWA title runs. David Von Erich, Texas God. Don Muraco, who was my main WWF heel before an 18-month injury. Dusty Rhodes, swapped titles runs with Flair a few times.
Interesting...Does that count as a response? Seriously, i haven't played DOTT, as i am unfimiliar with most of the people due to my age, but i have to say, you have put me in the mood to play it. How often do you run shows?
I'm only 24, and I absolutly love DOTT.. age has nothing to do with liking wrestling. Heck, DOTT is like a history lesson for wrestling fans. I'll admit, I'm a wrestling nerd so its a little easier to get into for me, knowing so much about the period. But its still one of the best mods out for the game, bar none.

Wow, and I thought I had played a long time! I'm currently in March of 1984, and the race to National is in full swing. I've bought out several other promotions, though AWA, GCW, and WWF are still stiff competition. The plan was to make it to present day at some point and see how different the world is or isn't. Dunno how you guys all use Andre for so long, he retired within the first couple months of my game and that was with previous game version. My main event scene is looking good with Ric Flair, Ricky Steamboat, Harley Race, and Jerry Lawler as my big guns. Problem is, if I don't hit National in a couple months, I'm gonna start losing everyone who matters. Already losing Jay Youngblood because of this. It's because they're so big that Crockett won't let me pay them enough to renew their contracts (I'm limited to a max of $3700 per appearance at the moment, and Youngblood needed $4500 to renew).

Anubis, when I started WWF, Andre had a brief feud with Studd with me before the Japanese used him too much in a one-night-tournament while he was nursing an injury. He was out for perhaps 6 months, and it was during his time for renewal, so I did not extend him. He came back and stuck with the Japanese before his contract ran out. Now he's simply waiting and will not sign with anyone, but he's still active. So perhaps the reason he's not officially retired is because he hasn't worked that much. His popularity is still A everywhere, though.
