Idea for a fantasy wrestling game...

I've noticed that board based games have become popular as of late, so I had an idea that combines Fantasy-Sports games, game diaries, and strategy into one! I would set up a wrestling federation using fictional wrestlers (I'd use CornellVerse, but I don't know it very well + everyone uses it! If I could get 1-2 other people to help me out, maybe we can go with it.). These wrestlers have been around as intellectual property of mine for years, so I wouldn't be coming up with a whole fed of characters of the top of my head... Then, I'd post descriptions of all the characters (gimmicks, history, etc.), then everyone gets to "buy stock" in the workers out of intuition. More than one player can have stock in the same character, but no character has more than 100% to give. Everyone starts with 100-500 points (depends on how many people we have playing), and each % point = 1 cash point. The percentages will determine how many fantasy points you earn from the worker's success. (So, if you have 50% of worker A, and he earns 100 points, you get 50) Workers earn points for various reasons, all relating to the events that occur during shows (written by me!). Many will be outlined in the rules and will closely mirror the wwe.com fantasy thing, but certain events can trigger bonus gains. Keep in mind that losing championships and injuries subtract points. Stakes in buying percentage points will go by a waiver system. The less points you have won, the higher your stake is in claiming a worker. (The worse you do, the easier it is to trade away/buy worker points for you!) At first, I think we can have a draft where everyone playing can use up to 20% of their total points per pick. You can earn more cash to buy points by reaching a certain number of won points, which I will determine after I figure out scoring. If this seems a bit confusing, it'll be starighted out when the specifics are set. If you've played a fantasy sport before, this shouldn't be too hard. Even if you haven't, I can help you out! Any takers?

Why hasn't anyone responded? I'd think that people on this board would jump at this idea! Is everyone burned out on mafia? Is the idea bad? What's the issue? I can say that I've tried this before elsewhere, and it was only unsuccessful because of a lack of participation (A bunch of people signed up, but stopped playing...). We got though have a season... (1 year of shows!) Here's some more details that I forgot to mention: The game is broke up into seasons. Whoever scores the most points in a season wins! Also, the fed will have a weekly TV show and PPV's once a month, but things can chage, as in real life! I'm sure SOMEONE would like to play!

60 views and no responses? I feel weird: even the most pointless threads used to get responses, and game ideas are always big hitters. Even if you aren't interested, post so I know why! I'm just going to assume that mafia is taking up too much of people's time for now...

The idea seems fine and all, but you might want to change it a little. One thing I would think of changing is you creating the matches and what happens who wins. Instead use Wrestling Sprit 2 to sim the matches. This takes away any chance of people bitching about results and getting mad at you. Though it will make it more challenging fro you from a story stand point.

It a good idea, I'm a big fan of fantasy sports, but using a sim like WreSpi or even TNM7 would make the results more random and more like a fantasy game.

I thought that the personal decision making element was part of it... There are some issues though: A. I don't have Wrestling Spirit 1 or 2, so I can't use that... B. If I want to have rivalries, have title runs, push people, and etc., it would be difficult to use a system of randomization. It would be silly if the title changed every title match! (I'm not TNA! Jk...) If it means people joining, I'd be willing to take out personal preference, but I also want to keep things entertaining to read (like a diary). So, I think the best way to do it is to plan results well ahead of time instead of before each show. It would have the same level of integrity as randomization (I could lie about either) and I don't see why I (or anyone else) would bother playing favorites... Does that sound better at all? If not, I'm still open for suggestions, and if all else fails, someone can sim the WreSpi2 matches for me...
That's an obvious idea... I'll post the bios of the roster and a sample show as soon as I can write it up...
Don't forget to do sample score cards/system with the sample show. Actually show us not only your part, but the player's as well. Also explain why they got the score, and so-on.

(Note: My fed is based in the CornellVerse, but is it's own fed, and references and relations to the other workers/feds will be limited. I may bring in some guys from other places for fun later, but this will mostly be all fictional guys I make up!) Welcome to or, United Championship Wrestling UCW all started in 1998 when then founder, current CEO, John Walker decided to create his own federation in Seattle, WA. Wrestling was big, and with big products comes big profits. He initially lost a large sum of money, and the fed was on the verge of closing down, but he held through and developed a cult following. The company grew and eventually became one of the biggest in the nation, almost as big as TCW or SWF. Almost... The company has a dedicated roster, a PPV deal, and a weekly TV show: The name of which evolved from the incredible popularity of a Main Eventer, Jack Lightning. The style of shows it puts on are a blend of traditional wrestling and some elements of more Sports Entertainment type companies. The Roster Authority/Staff: John Walker - CEO Perry Thomas - Color Commentator Michael Scarletto - Play-by-Play Joel Vexner - Backstage Interviewer, Former Champ Teri Polk - Backstage Interviewer Wrestlers: Main Eventers: "The Bounty Hunter" Mark Wellz - Although less popular among fans than Jack Lightning, Mark believes (and in some ways is) the franchise player in the company. His relations with the higher-ups and consistent success in the ring aren't unconnected. Although possibly a product of corruption, his great brawling and occasionally technical performances keeps him from getting a finger pointed at him. Finishers: The Wellzinator (Modified Pedigree), The Marksman (Sharpshooter) Appearance: Short black hair, goatee. Wears a black T-shirt, kneepads, cut-off jean shorts, black boots, and fingerless gloves to the ring. From San Antonio, Texas and a heel. Ted Wilder - Successful on the indy circuit, Wilder was signed because of his great high-flying and willingness to take a bump. An underground favorite who has not yet won gold, but remains a constant contender. Finishers:Born to be Wild (Mexican Stretch Buster), Ankle Lock Appearance: Mid-length white hair. Wears black leather pants with a stripe (colors vary) along each leg. Also wears a black vest to the ring, but it is removed prior to match. From Hollywood, California and is a face. Jack Lightning - Undisputed fan-favorite and current UCW Champion, Jack is flying high (figuratively and in-ring). He became popular after his former tag partner, Mike Volta, was sidelined with an injury. There is no bad blood between the two, but kayfabe shows otherwise. Finishers: Lightning Strikes (Stalling Brainbuster), Shock Value (Osaka Street Cutter) Appearance:Short brown hair w/ sideburns. Wears long blue tights with lightning bolts of the side to the ring. From Toronto, Onatario, Canada and a face. Dave Zero - The original holder of the white-rapper gimmick (Pre-Cena!), Dave has had many changes. He went through a period as a martial artist, and is currently holding a vigilante/urband soldier style gimmick, and is leader of the stable known as "Zero Hour". He is a good all-arounder, but hasn't found "it" yet. Still popular though! Finishers:Ground Zero (Tigerbomb w/ pin), Point of Origin (Shining Wizard) Appearance: Short, spiked blond hair. Currently wears a camoflauge basketball jersey with his name and "0" on the back as well as Camo cargo pants. From Detroit, Michigan and is a heel. (For the rest, I'll just post hometown and basic gimmick/alignment) Up. Mid: Aaron Billings - Austin, Texas, Heel, Former Law-Enforcer, w/ Dave Zero and Robert Synton in Zero Hour. Reggie Williams - Miami, Florida, Face, Cool Guy gimmick Robert Synton - Augusta, Maine, Heel, Ice Man gimmick, w/ Zero/Billings Kyle Hunter - From Unknown, Monster Heel, manager is Xireses Gregg Watson - From Birmingham, England, Williams Regal type gimmick, tags with brother Henry Henry Watson - same as above Mid: "Electric" Mike Volta - From Toronto, Ontario, Currently Vengeful Heel towards everyone (mostly Jack Lightning) Scott Duran - From Sacramento, California, generic Hoss heel Freddy Quint - From NYC, Johnny Nitro style gimmick, but face Kenji Shinobi - From Tokyo, Japan, currently has martial artist style gimmick and is a tweener Orzel - From Las Vegas Nevada, has a nightclubber/troublemaker gimmick, tags with Raver. Heel, and has a manager (The Bouncer) Raver - same as above Donny Hellbound - From Baltimore, Maryland, Metalhead gimmick, face Benson Lender - From Richmond, Virginia, has a veteran wrestler gimmick, face Low. Mid.: Sonjay Gowda - From India, has a generic Indian gimmick, tags with brother, Abu, face Abu Gowda - same as above Turk Timon - From the Congo, has a savage beast gimmick, heel Duke Richmond - From Glensdale, Arizona, but pretends to be from somewhere in England. Comedic fake-royalty gimmick. Heel Openers: Jason Wellz - Son of Mark Wellz, same info as him, but face. Only 16 and has a blue-chipper gimmick Managers: The Bouncer (for Orzel/Raver) - Bouncer gimmick Xireses (For Kyle Hunter) - Egyptian wiseman gimmick Tag Teams: The Watson Brothers - Gregg/Henry Watson Night Club Crew (NCC) - Orzel/Raver Bengal's Best - Abu/Sonjay Gowda Champions: UCW - Jack Lightning UCW North American - Freddy Quint UCW Tag Team - Gregg/Henry Watson (Listing the roster info is tedious and mostly unnecessary. I'll post a few shows while people sign-up, and you'll understand the personalities better. Also, I'll add more people to the roster as time goes on, and some talent may leave.)

Here's how scoring works: Scoring A worker only scores once in the following category per-show unless they are in more than one match. So, if they have an interview and match, only the higher-scored match will count. Losing a title cancels out any other appearance/match based score they have. (So they don't get points for losing the match or for any other matches they are in) Appearances/Matches TV Appearance (Actual physical presence, being mentioned is not enough. Appearances include interviews, angles, run-ins, being involved in a match without being a competitor (Lumberjack, etc.), and whatever ) - 100 points TV Match Loss (Match means actual participation. Includes special refs./enforcers) - 200 points TV Match Win - 300 points (For PPV's everything is doubled) PPV Appearance - 200 points PPV Match Loss - 400 points PPV Match Win - 600 points Title Win - TV = 600, PPV = 1200 Title Loss - -500 Note: If a worker is in more than one match in a night, they will earn points for all of them. Other: Here are some examples of special ways to score. Finisher use - If a worker uses a finisher (their's or otherwise), they get 100 points Foreign object use - If a worker uses a foreign object to their advantage during a match, they earn 100 points. (Only valid once per match, not applicable when used in No DQ/Hardcore/etc. type matches where foreign objects are allowed) Also note that event specific bonuses may be awarded. Say someone were to win a Royal Rumble Style match as the #1 entrant, they'd get a bonus. Say someone were to win an innovative match, they'd get a bonus. Say someone was a part of a iconic angle or segment, they'd get a bonus. These will be rare, and awarded at my discretion!

Sample show: Scarletto: Welcome to tonight's Shockwave, live from UCW Central, right here in Seattle Washington! We've got a huge Main Event tonight: You'll be seeing UCW Champ, Jack Lightning, defend his title against Dave Zero! Thomas: That's huge, all right! Dave has been trying to get a shot since becoming a member of our roster. This is his first shot, right? Scarletto: I believe so! This guy is a three-time North American Champ, and has held the tag championship, but has yet to even have a chance for the real gold! This shot is long overdue. He's got a big advantage, too! Thomas: Yep! This guy is a great in-ring performer... This will be a tough match-up for Jack. Scarletto: Actually, I was referring to his goons: Aaron Billings and Robert Synton. They're the ones who got Dave the chance in the first place by destroying Reggie Williams backstage before the match! Thomas: How do you know it was them? For all we know he could have fallen! Scarletto: Perry... Oh, nevermind... Let's get to our first match of the night: Kyle Hunter vs. Donny Hellbound Match 1: Kyle Hunter vs. Donny Hellbound Kyle Hunter enters to his firey pyro and entrance music, being led by Xireses, a strange man who claims to be in touch with the dead! He's promised Kyle success if he would allow him to be his manager. Hunter has become more out-of-touch with the world recently and is a real monster! After entering the ring and posing menacingly, Donny enters to his normal Iron Maiden music, playing air guitar all the way to the ring before sliding in and getting immediately attacked by Kyle! **Bell Rings** Donny tries to stand up as Kyle bashes him in the side with his huge boots. Finally, Donny gets to a corner, and Kyle backs away. As Hellbound claws his way back to his feet through the help of the ropes, Hunter sets up for something: standing back, crouched. Scarletto: Oh no! I'd hate to be Donny right now. I can only imagine what Kyle is planing... Thomas: I hope Hellbound survives this... He's reigning UCW air-guitar champ! Ha ha! How will we manage without him? Scarletto: Stop it! As soon as "The Trooper" Donny Hellbound gets to his feet, Kyle flattens him with a boot to the side of the head. Donny goes down, out cold. 1...2...3... Kyle Hunter Wins Kyle Rolls out of the ring, and heads towards the back silently, followed by Xireses. Thomas: Sweet... Did you see that boot? Donny better start listening to Foreigner, because he's got double-vision! Kyle sure is hot-blooded! I don't see him needing to play head games! He... Scarletto: Enough with the puns, Perry, we've got Joel Vexner in the back with Zero Hour... Interview: Dave Zero and Zero Hour Camera cuts to the back where Joel is standing, microphone ready, next to the members of Zero Hour. Vexner: So, Dave, you've got a match tonight. You'll be taking on the champ, hoping to win the title off of him. What are your thoughts right now? Zero pauses, staring at Joel, before ripping the mic from his hand. Zero: Go take a break, Vexner. [Looks towards the camera] So, you want my thoughts? I don't need to tell you how I feel 24/7, or at all for that matter! My thoughts will stay classified, just like my plans for tonight. As for my friends here, [motions to Aaron and Rob] I will say that Jack should be on his toes! Take note that Aaron and Rob don't have anything scheduled for them tonight, yet they're here... It shouldn't take a tactician like me to figure out what's in store for you. Ha... Dave drops the mic, and walks off with his stablemates. Commercials run. There is a partial show for now, I'll finish it later, as I'm a little busy right now. So far, the scoring is as follows: Scarletto and Thomas both have 100 points, as announcing counts as an appearance. Joel Vexner, Aaron Billings, Robert Synton also have 100 for being present during Dave's interview. Xireses has 100 for accompanying Kyle Hunter to the ring.(Managing doesn't count as being in a match.) Donny Hellbound has 200 for losing a TV match, Kyle has 300 for winning, and Dave has 100 for an interview as of now. However, he'll get match points later, so his 100 will be overwritten. So, say PeterHilton had 50% of Kyle Hunter, 20% of Dave Zero, and 30% of Xireses. He'd have 150 (half of Kyle) + 20 (20% of Dave) + 30 (30% of Xireses), or 200 total. It's a simple process for me and the player because everything is done in 100's. I'll figure out scoring, so don't worry about having to do math! Tell me what you think of everything so far!

Here some more of the show: Commercials end, and the show comes back to the start of a match, Match 2: The Nightclub Crew vs. Bengal's Best Orzel and Raver start by coming out to their cheesy techno music (accompanied by The Bouncer), followed by Abu and Sonjay, who have equally cheesy Khali-esque music. This will be a #1 contenders match for the UCW Tag Titles. Raver and Abu start in the ring **Bell Rings** Scarletto: Both of these teams are worthy of a shot at the title, in my opinion. Thomas: Well, obviously! They're the only official teams that aren't champions right now in the company! Soon it'll be the "I don't mind you, want to share a title?" Title! Scarletto: That is true, Perry. Since Project Shock broke up, we've seen a decline in the number of teams on Shockwave. Ooh! Nice arm drag by Raver to start the match! After a quick toss by Raver on Abu, Raver pulls his opponent to his corner and makes a tag. Raver Irish whips Abu, and he and Orzel pull off a double arm drag! A few quick moves later, all targeted towards Abu's left arm and shoulder, Abu strikes back and makes a tag. Orzel and Sonjay trade blows in the ring. A little while later, Sonjay has Orzel down from a hard suplex, and climbs to the top rope! Sonjay goes for a moonsault... and Orzel rolls out of the ring! Orzel comes back in for a quick pin attempt, but Sonjay kicks out. Orzel is waiting for Sonjay to rise. He attempts his finisher, The Roxbury DDT, but Sonjay reverses with a sort of Northern Lights Suplex pin! 1...2... no! Orzel kicks out and quickly rolls to his partner, as Sonjay stays in the ring, winded. Raver pounds Sonjay with a few quick hits to the gut, before picking him up and landing a double-arm DDT! Another pin is broken by Sonjay. While Raver has a stunned look on his face, Sonjay makes the tag. An attempt at bumrushing Raver by Abu is stopped by a kick to the gut. V.I.P. Driver by Raver! 1...2...3...! The NCC win, as Sonjay wasn't quick enough with the save. The NCC leave, happy with the the clean win. I'd finish it, but is anyone reading? Can you make any judgments yet? BTW, this match scores as follows: The Bouncer has 100 as a manager, both Orzel and Raver have 300 for the win, and Abu/Sonjay have 200 for the loss!

Man, we have TCW http://www.geeksoft.net/GFed/page.py?league_id=116&page_id=1002 It is run by guys here. we have 15 members on the roster. Wins, title runs ect are all earned depending on how well you promote your character in the roleplaying. Also how much effort and desire you put into it. Results are predetermined. We had the random thing in mind at the start, but understood we will have problems as guys which should be winning won't. We are having good fun and still have some spaces for guys which want to have fun and know or want to roleplay in the WWE style. Characters are based on the Cornellverse. We started with fictional characters, but decided to stick to the Cornellverse as there is history and backround involved. Go to the site. We also have a post in here.

Man, no offense, and I think the whole thing is cool, but stop spamming every other Dog Pound thread with that! My idea is NOTHING like an E-Fed... (I have an account on your site already, but didn't "sign-up" yet, and probably wont (for a while at least) as I'm busy...) Might as well give a last bump...
