NickC13573
This idea is for both TEW and WMMA. I think that there should be banks so that we can take out loans at 7% or so, maybe with a max withdrawal of a million dollars? like, UFC was in debt when it just started. asdfx3
There could also be finacial backers, either independent investors (like WFA had) or a TV network (ike EliteXC has). The number of these people will increase along with the sports popularity in that area and will generally target either well-established but nearly bankrupt promotions (like the last days of SEG UFC and DSE Pride) or stable but small ones (EliteXC, Strikeforce). Some may even start their own from scratch (Bodog). However, by accepting money from these investors you are also bound to their preferences. If they think Fighter A is more marketable or somehow have a relationship with Fighter B, they will expect you to push them to the top regardless of how legitamite you want to make your company. Or they might tell you how to market or present the company, which might detract you from the fan base you had created. And of course, it's as easy to lose their support as it is to gain it. Capelli King
Now that is even more expanded, i like that idea, but doubt it will make the cut in the current game, we will be lucky to get a Bank:D

I would love to have these back.
asdfx3
what is/was WFA?
World Fighting Alliance, there's a wiki page for it: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_Fighting_Alliance Basically it was a failed brand that was brought back by two lawyers with the help of several investors and signed a bunch of talent (Heath Herring, Rampage, Lindland, Bas, Ricco, and others). There was a lot of hype about it and on Sherdog it seemed like many thought they would destroy the UFC with ease. When the first show flopped the money well ran dry and the company was sold to Zuffa.
