Crowded house have reformed!!!!! How great is that? For those of you unfamiliar with there work, the advert for there greatest hits albumn summed it up perfectly. "you probably know more crowded house songs then you think" There hits include: Its only Natural Dont dream its over Weather with you. They were my fave band during the early ninetys and there vocalist Neil finn has a really god voice which compliments the melodic, soft rock tunes fantastically. Im so happy! :D
Fall At Your Feet was always my favourite song of theirs. Weather With You has been played to death over the years, it's Crowded House's equivalent of Livin' On A Prayer by Bon Jovi.
/agree, my personal favourite was "distant sun" there was a line in it "i don't pretend to know what you want, but i offer love" that always put a lump in my throat. I made a mixed tape for Dawn when we 1st got together and that song was on there. Ahh, to be young again!
Hey panix dude, can you lower the thread title to ..... for the people who are 23+ and dont just listen to hard rock....
Ego, what with your unquestionable, erm ego your musical tastes and occasionally your mannerisms you remind me a lot of my bezzie mate Matt. You don't happen to have a bizzarre obssesion with orange and consequntly the nickname jaffa do you?
Just a question. Is this a band that if.. say one were to live in the States, one may not of heard of? If so, who would you compare them to?
they are very middle of the road, if you like counting crows, sister hazel, hootie and the blowfish, its in a similar vein.

But I'm not a "normal" music fan. :p By year's end, don't be surprised to see several other bands reunite. The Police's successful (thus far) reunion is appealing to a lot of peoples' sensibilities. Okay, maybe not their sensibilities. But their bank accounts count as sensibilities!
I'm not familiar with them, but another great band are reforming, The Verve. Which is great as they are brilliant.
 Are they really? Fooking fantastic news if it's true. Crowded House were pretty good too, mind.

Great kiwi band just quietly... Aussies will tell you otherwise, but Finny is a Kiwi and the others... I mean seriously, Mark Hart, Nick Seymour and the late Paul Hestor, they'd be lucky to get 10 people to the local rotary club for a gig. Neil Finn was Crowded House. He of course was also one of the great leaders of Split Enz, which is where Crowded House was born out of. I mean honestly, Aussies will try and tell you songs like Mean to me with lines like "And the sound of Te Awamutu has a truly sacred ring" is a song about Australia, or the video to Don't Dream It's Over in the kitchen of the house in Te Awamutu is Australian, or Four Seasons in One Day is about Australia... in Australia, there's only usually two seasons, hot and bl00dy hot, New Zealand completely different.... to say I'm happy about them reforming is putting it mildly, I got to see Split Enz in action last year and they were brilliant.

That's right, Crowded House's creativity is ALL NZ. Aussie is always trying to poach our success. Russell Crowe, Sam Neil, Shihad/Pacifier (who were given a "best new Australian band" award)... the list goes on. Not to start any arguments, but it's historically rampant. Crowded House kick a lot of ass. Much like Split Enz, The Exponents and the mighty Supergroove.

Mate the Aussies claim anything, heck, they even claim the likes of Phar Lap FFS. "Why does love do this to me", awesome song. Victoria was good too.,, or "I'll say goodbye even though I'm blue, even though I'm blue, even though I'm blue".. you're right on the Groove too, I mean who "Can't get enough, can't get enough no!" Man, some of the local New Zealand scene was straight out phat. I mean you could even add in the likes of the Muttonbirds, Dave Dobbyn, Shona Laing, Herbs, The Feelers (they rocked to me), Sharon O'Neill, Either of the Rungas, Zed, Netherworld Dancing Toys, Annie Crummer, Dragon (another one the Aussies would claim), Hello Sailor, Peking Man, Coconut Rough... Half these bands probably no one knows about, but there's some great songs there. I have the Natures Best Top 100 series on CD (all 3 of them), and I love them. They're great, remind me of home so much makes me homesick.

Guest The Aussie
Moe Hunter & Tristram: It's a well known fact that Australia lays claim to anything that the Kiwis bring out. It's because NZ is Australias red-haired little brother.
