Hope this has not been asked before lol. I notice and it does not matter if it is Enhancement Talent or Main Eventers that if I run a angle with them and they are not in a storyline that is calling for a attck, interview etc. I get messages like " There are no specific comments to be made about this angle " 90% of the time other 10% usually says This segment brought the crowds mood down. Also these angles are always a F. Now if the Charter is in a storyline I usually get D's & E's As you are aware not always on a card will your storylines alow a angle the next 2 steps or 3 are matches. Well if it happens to be all 4 storylines are their, I have to do something, and even if you Hype a match that is a storyline if it is not calling for Hype you get a F. This is my 4th game 2nd month. I have done all games as a new owner Med game start, so maybe this is normal and it just takes long time to get anywhere. So The question boils down to is Angles only good in story lines, and when it calls for a certain story line. 2nd Question: I have seen in other threads that a story line has to be 5 mins long to do any good, so why do they have some angles that are 1 min max, if they are no good.

1) it depends on your product and how over your stars are. Even in promotions that don't use them, angles still need workers with high overness to pull off a solid rating. Even if they're rated on entertainment. My guess is either a) your promotion doesn't dig angles and 2) your workers aren't over enough. 2) you mean angles have to be 5 minutes long to do any good? Storylines aren't based on time, they're based on steps. As for the 5 minutes thing, I don't know what anyone would say that... It doesn't matter how long the segment is, if it's gonna bomb, it's gonna bomb. In fact, in interviews, you don't want long segments. 1-3 minutes max.

Maybe I was just misunderstanding their answers to others.
4 minutes? I thought it had to be 5 minutes to count towards the final rating.
LOL! I am so sorry, but I'm a Monte Python fan, and this just brought me back to the Holy Handgrenade sketch from Monty Python And The Quest For The Holy Grail. "Three is the number that thou shalt count, and the number of the count shall be three. Thou shalt not count two! Except that thou shalt go on counting to three. Neither shalt thou count four. Five is right out." Anyway, that's not exact, but close enough to say so. Get's the idea across anyway. *shrugs* Anyway. To the subject at hand. From me, the picky guy. I believe a segment can not be made in partial-minute incriments. Ergo, if a segment "has to be longer than 4 minutes", or "needs to be 5 minutes", isn't that saying the same thing? :D Anyway. I also seem to recall someone saying, or implying, or maybe I read it wrong, that a segment has to be 5 minutes long in order for it also have a chance to raise applicable stats. I may be wrong, and if so, someone please set us straight! Remmy? ;)
What they mean is, the angle will only affect the overall show rating if it is longer than 4 minutes. It will still get rated if it's 1 min, but it won't have an effect on the final rating.

4 minutes? I thought it had to be 5 minutes to count towards the final rating.
Lita, it's six of one, half a dozen of the other. 5 minutes is indeed longer than 4 minutes, is it not? :) Perhaps a better way of saying it is, angles must be a minimum of 5 minutes long to affect the show rating (and I think worker overness as well).

OK so what are the angles even for that are set to 1 min max? Seems to me unfortunetly Adam wasted time putting them in, if they don't count towards your shows rateing. Example the Video Hype if I remember correctt is 1 MIN Max 1 Min Min. I am probley wrong though. Also the Other question I have seen no one has a opion on it. Does a angle do any good for workers that are not in a story line? Or does it hurt the show? I hope someone understands what I am tring to ask on this :) Thanks all

I hope someone understands what I am tring to ask on this :) Thanks all
You're completely missing the point, I'm afraid. If every angle affected the show's rating, NO ONE running a small promotion would ever run angles (because their people wouldn't be over enough to make it make sense). It wouldn't make sense to do ANY angles whatsoever prior to Cult. So what would you have a 21CW (Regional, Sports Entertainment) or BSC (Small, T&A) to do? Besides, you might not know that short hype angles can STILL affect advance booking heat (or so I've seen). There's more to it than just "angles under 5 mins are useless if they don't affect the show rating". The way the game is coded now, the booker is given a choice. If they feel the angle will be as strong as or stronger than a match, they can run it at 5+ mins and add some gravy onto the show rating. If the angle is being run for storyline purposes and/or isn't expected to do so well, they can run it at 4 mins or less. Few things in TEW are as simple as "if/then". Workers can get skill increases as well as overness/momentum boosts (if 5+ mins in length) from angles, whether they're in a storyline or not. Whether improving your workers' skills is important to you, is up to you to decide.

Damn, I guess I'll have to watch some good ole Monty Python again.

oh and by the way, just in case someone asks, I didn't see it mentioned that a segment lower than 5 mins can still increase a workers skills. They increase based on segments involved in and i think the people thier in the segments with, not length. So even a 1 min segment can improve a workers entertainment skills.
