Piemaster
How do people use storylines in Traditional promotions (or indeed any other promotion not SE based)? Every angle I try seems to bomb (saying it 'wasnt very good to start with) and the crowd seem displeased with every match ending other than a basic pinfall. But obviously storylines tend to rely on angles and controversy to gel them together. Do you: a) Run the storylines anyway and make the crowd suck it up. b) Use very vanilla storylines with just a sequence of matches with the odd very vanilla angle or c) Not really bother with storylines at all What's the verdict? Irish Wolf
A lot of traditional storylines were no more than a few hypes and a lot of great matches. I do storylines for my 5SSW game and since the minimum number of angles for a storyline is three I'll just use three and make everything else matches. As for angles even if it says Microphone or Entertainment it's still mainly based on overness. SO if you're a small fed you aren't going to get good angles ratings with anyone who isn't a main eventer and sometimes not even with them. Generally a C+ overness and a decent rating in the secondary trait will garner you a C angle segment and once they start getting over C the fans stop crapping on them. Day_Dreamer
I make storylines based entirely on matches, no angles. And since always play DOTT it doesn't even seem unrealistic to have shows with zero angles and all matches.

So I guess there is still some fluff required.

Piemaster
Well yeah, but so is everything in the game. I try to follow the creators intentions where I can.
Day_Dreamer
Where does it say that traditional requires 80% matches? Here's my product: Key Feature: Traditional and Realsim Heavy: Pure At 100% matches and no angles, my promotion runs smooth as ever.

Still though, if you are using storylines with plot points you can have storylines with no angles. WHich was my point.

A few hype videos and the occasional interview or celebration to fill up the fluff slots. Quick question - What does a worker have to do to earn his appearance fee? If he fights obviously he gets it. If he does an interview, but doesn't fight, does he get it? If so, what about if he is in an angle, but doesn't actually appear in person (e.g. he is the subject of a hype video)? Also , even in traditional, overness matters to get good results on angles. you usually need to have the participants have a D- overness or better and good marks in what the angle is rated on to get decent scores. Example , in my NYCW diary, which is a traditional promotion, Grandmaster phunk does a promo. he has C- overness and B avg for entertainment so I get a B-, C+ rating usually. Honest Frank has an D- overness and C+ entertainment skills and will get a D to D+ for same promo.
theoutlaw321
The crapping on of angles also could be due to the locations that you are choosing. Filter them to match your product. Stick to the product guidelines as a guide. Use the most over guys you have to hype the Mainevent or 2nd to last match on the show. I don't have a problem with the NWA in my Battlelines diary. I know Fred ran into it early on with the AWA, but figured out what the crowd wanted and it looks to be going better.
thug saint oga
i run an hour and a half t.v. show, and i put on my matches and i do about 10-15 minutes of angles that are mainly hype angles. usually i do a few longer one in between my last few matches, 2 or 3 minutes, and i throw in a one minute hype angle for tag teams and midcarders between my other matches. i pretty much put an angle between every match.
