tom_wk
What sort of product settings should I be looking at if I want match quality to be as important as overness? I'd like to achieve a balance so that workers who aren't so over can get by on their in-ring abilities, but still enable popularity to compensate for those who suck in the ring . Obviously they can't both be the be all and end all, so what would a good balance be?

Remianen
Traditional - Heavy or Key Feature Mainstream - no higher than Medium (and probably Low or Very Low, if most of your workers can go in the ring) The Mainstream category seems to be the one that allows rubbish workers (see Hogan, Hulk) to put on decent to high rated matches due almost solely to their overness. Traditional factors in, don't get me wrong, but in an old school Traditional fed, you still had to be able to actually WRESTLE (as well as be somewhat known). You could get overness through your wrestling ability but your overness wouldn't make your wrestling ability (or lack thereof) seem better than it was. That's just the way I do it. Since my personal preference is workers who can go in the ring, I tailor my product to enable them to earn their reputation between the ropes. I generally go with Traditional - Key, Mainstream - Medium or less, Modern - Heavy or Key, and add to taste (maybe Realism at Low or Medium, Lucha at Medium, Pure at low, etc). My goal is always a product in which Brawlers, Puroresu Style, and Luchador workers have the same ability to succeed as the Cruisers, Super Juniors, Regulars, Technicians, and Entertainers. Michael Wayne
I might also say Pure possibly as Pure employs a more european mat wrestling style. If you want actual "wrestling" then pure, if you want general wrestling, than traditional.
