DarkMaverick87
What's up? I'm using T-Zone and I'm currently playing with WWE. I'm thinking about creating a MMA title. The premise is that Vince McMahon wants to try and compete with UFC, so he's incorporating MMA into the WWE. Just think of it as another type of division, i.e. the Cruiserweight division. I filtered a search in the "Other Workers" section to see who would come up as an MMA Crossover, but most of those workers aren't people who are popularly known in the U.S. I know I'm going to get reemed for this, but I rather keep the division within WWE and not go too far outside of it. Can you guys help me out? Who that is in WWE or has been in WWE, WCW, ECW or TNA can pass in an MMA-like division? (note: I know it won't be a full-fledged realistic MMA division since pro-wrestling is scripted, but it's more about the style... plus it's for fun) CURRENTLY ASSIGNED TO THE MMA DIVISION: --Tajiri --Daniel Puder --Ken Shamrock (w/ Ryan Shamrock) --Elijah Burke --Santino Marella Would CM Punk be good for this division? What about Sylvester Terkay (I'm willing to hire him back if it could make my division grow)?
ColtCabana
I dont know if he will be in the Data but Steve Blackman may fit in. You could put in Tito Ortiz and Orlando Jordan supposedly had a Boxing background.
shamelessposer
Gregory Helms has a history of competing in toughman competitions. William Regal could be a great fit. He's one of the last "shooters" on the roster, after all.
DarkMaverick87
Steve Blackman is in the data. I didn't even think of him. He'd be a great addition to it (even though he has all those neck issues). I considered adding Tito Ortiz, but to keep it semi-realistic, aren't the odds of him ever taking part in something like this slim to none? And as for William Regal... that sounds like a good idea. And maybe I'll put Gregory Helms in it too since he's just fading away in my Cruiserweight division now. Thanks for all the help! Keep 'em coming!! ...what about Dave Finlay? Lance Storm? ColtCabana
^ I think he had something to do with TNA, maybe as a special guest ref. Still he could be the manager of somebody Ken Shamrock is facing.
Day_Dreamer
Thats actually a pretty neat idea, you can put in tough guy wrestlers aswell, they dont have to be MMA style, its real fighting right? and tough guys can fight. I'd hire Terkay back, and bring in some guys from Japan like Nagata, and dont forget Lesnar. Sean O'Haire would be a good idea too, as a jobber if nothing else. Here's an idea why dont you bring in Goldberg and make him put his ass where his mouth is. As far as tough guy wrestlers go, guys like Perry Saturn, Samoa Joe etc look tough enough to make the cut. And since you're playing T-Zone you'd have Tyson Dux on data, he has a legit boxing/Martial arts background and I know for a fact that if it wasn't for his knee, he'd be in MMA. Crychon
Hire Mike Barton, he won the illustrious Brawl For All!
DarkMaverick87
Thanks everyone for all of your suggestions. Here's what I've come up with: MMA Division --CM Punk --Daniel Puder --Dave Finlay --Elijah Burke --Ken Shamrock (w/ Ryan Shamrock) --Santino Marella --Sean O'Haire --Steve Blackman --Sylvester Terkay --Tajiri --William Regal So what do you think? Too many/too little guys for one division? Anyone in there that SHOULDN'T be in there? What about people that should? I want to make this division seem really plausiable, so whoever is listed in there that should/shouldn't be, please let me know. I'm still considering the Goldberg, Brock and Samoa Joe suggestions. Michael Wayne
isn't Mike Tyson in the data as well?
TylerDrew
Al Snow may be an idea he helped Severn train for his original UFC run even if it did just amount to punching him with a boxing glove.
Guest The Aussie
I would change CM Punk with Al Snow. Punk is best used as a fringe Main-eventer than in a special niche division.

Bob Sapp Kazuyuki Fujita Naoya Ogawa Yuji Nagata Yoshihiro Takayama Yoji Anjoh Kyoshi Tamura Dos Caras Jr. Blue Wolf These are all pretty famous wrestlers from Japan(One from Mexico) who have fought MMA, Nagata at least should be active in the US if he is in the data as he wrestled for WCW for awhile. Jushin Lyger also once fought MMA in Pancrase. Many of these guys would actually be quality free agents without the MMA background so grabbing a couple couldn't hurt. Guest The Aussie
Bob Sapp is a freaking pimp, thank you TylerDrew for reminding me of him
TylerDrew
Actually if Fujita is available in the US and in the game I'd say give him a try he a Sapp have a rivalry and he has a very "WWE" look.
TylerDrew
Sorry for the huge amount of posts your idea is just very cool, if Vader is still around he was THE MAN in UWFi so he's an idea.
Vladamire Dracos
A couple of names I haven't seen yet: Dan Severn (Dan "The Beast" Severn is badass.) David Abbott (Formerly "Tank" Abbott in WCW, was a MMA fighter before and after that run.) Giante Silva (Formerly part of the Human Oddities in WWE, now does MMA.) Don Frye I also agree with the guys who said Bob Sapp and Mike Barton (the former Bart Gunn of the Smoking Gunns tag team is a tough guy but will need a mouthpiece if you want them to do interview segments, maybe Blackman?) chefboyrdz
Two guys that come to mind that no has mentioned yet are Hardcore Holly and Masato Tanaka these two are real bad ass and would fit like a glove.
TylerDrew
I don't know about good old Giant Silva his MMA matches don't even look like MMA matches if I was making a worked shoot division he'd be somewhere below Ultimate Warrior on my list. Hey if you need a center for you Basketball team though, at least he managed some success doing that. Frye though, I saw him and Takayama do a worked version of their famous MMA match for some Japanese movie(That was basically a bunch of worked shoots involving MMA fighters around a flimsy plot about some fighting tournament.) and it looked GOOD not to mention the dude oozes charisma and is American both + for rationalizing a WWE signing of him. On a side note Barton recently beat Wesley "Cabbage" in an MMA bout even though he's almost 50 and has roughly 0 experiance so he's pretty legit bad ass. shamelessposer
You MUST hire Don Frye. Biggest bad ass on the planet. He's stared down Godzilla with nothing but a katana. No joke. EDIT: What is a joke, though, are his entertainment skills in T-Zone. Everything should be in the seventies or so, not where he's ranked now. shamelessposer
CM Punk really doesn't seem like he'd fit in on this roster. He's a fine wrestler and all, but he's never really struck me as the kind of legitimate tough guy that you'd need to be to fake your way through a shoot-style division without any real experience. Lita Maivia
I tried something similar to this in my game. But I went outside of WWE to find some people. The data I'm using (which I got from someone during TEW05 and updated to 07) had a bunch of UFC guys in it and they all were actually willing to sign with me. I didn't get any big names, just hired based on looks (dear God, I know!). Not surprisingly, it failed miserably. The crowd didn't like them at all. But I'm sure that had to do with my product. Good luck with yours though. Sounds like it'll fit in better with your product the way you're doing it.

I appreciate all of the feedback! And besides, I think it's cool that you like this idea. Makes me more excited to go forward with this division and title.
