To illustrate a point, Steven comes down the ramp in street clothes, garnering many boos from the vocal seventy-two that showed up to the Stanley Hall. Flash took offense and went to work, mounting a quick and surprising offense on the champ. The champ quickly turned the offense around however. He toyed with his challanger for a bit, then finished him with a Future Shock. In fact he high fived fans on the way to the ring, and generally just looked happy to be involved. Mean Machine’s march was all business. He was ready for this tournament. They started out grappling, which did not end well for the high flying Strong. Strong ditched that plan and ran off the ropes. Huge dropkick, and Machine is down. Quickly to the turnbuckle, and an attempted whisper in the wind. Attempted, because it was caught by Machine, and turned into a scoop slam. Despite the pain, Strong got up, and ran to the ropes. As he turned, he ran into a double-handed choke bomb from Machine. The pin … 2 count! Strong shouldered up! Machine lifts Strong up…huge shoulder block. Machine goes to the top rope… he has an uncharacteristic grin on his face. Big splash … MISSES! Strong rolled away. The pin… THREE! STRONG WITH THE UPSET! The response for Antonio is rather apathetic to say the least. Antonio got in good offense, but every time he could capitalize, he jawed with the crowd. Hernandez staged a comeback, and hit Apparition #14 for the win. Davids signature quickness was on display at times, allowing him to outmaneuver his opponent. To combat this, Eddie Howard out thought his opponent. Having just slammed Davids into the outside ring steps, Howard rolls him in. He signals to the crowd and lifts Davids up, but Davids counters into a DDT. Pinfall and victory. Parker, on the other hand, was still in his street clothes. Strong mounted a bit of offense, but not enough to make the champ sweat. Future Shock and three count. As with most matches between these two, a lot of buzz went into the matchup. Davids started with the offensive, hitting what looked like a devastating spear near the end. Mainstream got up bravely, and went for an apparition # 14, hoping to shock Davids. Davids just lifted Hernandez and hit a verticle suplex to end it. He shakes the top ring rope and yells. Steven Parker comes out in his street clothes still, smiling and jawing with the crowd. They tie up to start, and Davids hits clubbing blows to the shoulders of Parker, and Parker goes down. Davids immediately starts applying the boots to his opponent. He lifts Parker up, and Parker pokes him in the eye. He then starts in on a rally of kicks and punches, and goes to the ropes. Davids recovers and hits a nasty shoulder block. He picks Parker up…verticle suplex! Three count, Davids takes the lead! Davids goes for another verticle suplex, but sensing danger, Parker reverses it into a DDT. He gets up and takes his street clothes off, revealing his wrestling gear underneath. Davids gets up, and him and Parker get into a fistfight. Davids clotheslines Parker over the top rope to the outside. Parker sneaks around behind Davids, as Davids is shaking the ropes. Chop block, and Davids goes down hard! Parker picks him up…Future Shock! Three count, and the champ evens the score. Parker goes for another quick pin, but Davids gets up. They begin to brawl again, with Davids getting a definite advantage. Davids clotheslines Parker again, and Parker stumbles out of the ring again. Davids learns from his mistake and follows him. Belt shot! Parker hit him with the belt, and the ref is calling for DQ. The title cannot be won…there is no Rip Chord Invitational champion! Des Davids over Steven Parker 2-1 [D+] Overall Show: [D+]
