This was what I read in the Adam Please Read Topic NOT MY WORDS...and now for my words.... Let me tell you something, the hogan WCW run was a great thing, nevermind that he became the greatest heel in the industry over night when he revealed himself as the last member of the original NWO. Nevermind the fact that people were so disgusted and shocked that they filled the ring with trash. Nevermind the fact that after the good run, that people like russo were in charge writing crap storylines. Get off the Hogan Hate Line and Hate people Like Randal or AJ Styles ones who really suck and oversell with there wanna be Ace Crushers and Upsidedown reverse pedigree's.

Athough I agree with the RKO comment, that doesn't excuse Hogan from what he has done to the business. Sure he was over as a heel in the NWO, the gimmick was him just being his true self mostly and as already proven, gimmicks based on the wrestlers personality do better than one just slapped on a guy at random (see Cena, John for an example). Sure Russo wrote his share of wrestlecrap worthy storylines, anyone who bought the book knows of them. But wrestlecrap wasn't exclusive to him and he sure didn't push for Hogan to hold the title as often as he did. The bottom line is, Hogan always watches out for Hogan, not what is or was good for business. Oh, and what has AJ Styles done in the business to deserve hatred? He's over with the crowds he works infront of and (as far as I've heard) hasn't yet used his drawing power as leverage to hold people down. His "Upsidedown reverse pedigree" is also more athletic and shows more actual skill than anything Hogans done since leaving the AWA.

How else can you explain Ed Leslie (Brutus Beefcake and thousands of other horrid gimmicks) having a career in wrestling? Hogan took care of his friends. As a human being, isn't that supposed to be an admirable trait? This stuff is where insider nonsense begins to taint viewpoints, in my opinion. Take acting as example: as a fan, you can look at John Wayne's body of work and enjoy the heck out of it. Get some insider info that Wayne was a huge politician behind the cameras and always worked with friends, rather than young and talented actors that probably deserved a chance - and you may start to look at Wayne's work in a different light. But should that take away from the fact that Wayne was fantastic at what he did? Don't get me wrong: If you don't like Hogan, so be it. Personally, I was never - ever a fan of the Orange Goblin. But I can't hold the backstage stuff against him. He's not the only egomaniac in the world. :)
