Opening the program saw Karen Angle introduce her husband and still TNA World Heavyweight Champion, Kurt Angle. However, once his music played it wasn’t Kurt that was elevated to the entrance way, it was former NWA World Heavyweight Champion, Sting. The icon then proceeded down to the ring in telling Karen that he no longer blames Kurt for his actions at No Surrender, because in the same circumstances he would have done the same. On the flip side though, Sting was asking Karen to own up to her own actions and tell Kurt that he never did hit her, and that it was all a lie. Karen showed no interest in abiding to Sting’s request, as we later saw Kurt Angle emerge on the scene and proceed with a beat down. Furthermore, he would handcuff Sting to the ring ropes and then hold him there for Karen to slap multiple times. During this, Sting was also telling Kurt that he never did any of this. Kurt just proceeded to get more in Sting’s face and viciously attacked him with punches and chops. Sting was defenseless as he was locked in the handcuffs. All he could do was spit at them, but that only attracted more abuse his way. We’ve seen such instances like this in the past in many other feuds, but tonight for some reason it was a bit hard for me to watch, I guess because of how real it looked. Black Reign made his in-ring “iMPACT!” debut by defeating Shark Boy in a quick match. The story of this encounter though was after the bout when the man behind the gimmick, Dustin Rhodes, de-masked Shark Boy and put his proclaimed “Arctic Fox” rat in his mask. Eric Young was quick to show up and save his buddy Shark Boy from being publically humiliated. He covered Shark Boy’s face with a towel as they both ran to the back. “The Fallen Angel” Christopher Daniels defeated TNA X-Division Champion, “Black Machismo” Jay Lethal, in a non-title encounter. As a result, the former 3-time X-Division Champion will receive a title shot on October 14th at Bound For Glory in Atlanta, Georgia. Next we had The Christian Coalition in the ring. All three of them, Christian Cage, Tomko, and AJ Styles called out Matt Morgan as they were looking to attack him because he couldn’t keep order at No Surrender when Samoa Joe went ballistic. Well, once they went to attack Morgan, Joe was there to join in and that’s when Jim Cornette also got involved. He stated that at Bound For Glory it will be Christian Cage against Samoa Joe on more time, but this time Matt Morgan will be the special referee. He also added that next week on “iMPACT!” it will be Christian Cage taking on a Samoan, but it won’t be Samoa Joe, it will be Junior Fatu – the former Rikishi! The main event featured TNA World Heavyweight Champion, Kurt Angle going against “The Monster” Abyss in a rematch from No Surrender, but this time in the Six Sides of Steel with some extra added stipulations. It was a submission match and if Abyss were to lose then he would have to quit TNA. Well that didn’t happen, but it was a physical match that did provide some entertainment. Blood was spilled from Angle’s forehead as Abyss kept repeatedly slamming him into the cage walls. The technicality aspect of the match was also great. Once Abyss locked in Angle’s own finisher, the ankle lock, Judas Mesias arrived by cutting his way into the ring from underneath and it reminded me of The Undertaker. His hand came first and he even wore a purple glove like The Undertaker of the 90’s, but once his face appeared blood came spilling out of his mouth as he wore white contacts. As soon as Kurt Angle noticed Mesias in the ring, he quickly scrammed and that’s when Abyss was then choked out with a strand of barbed-wire. It would then become a massacre as Mesias began stabbing and scraping Abyss’ arms with a broken piece of glass, to where he then licked off the blood from the glass. That’s how the show ended, but it looks like we’ll be having a lot of hardcore matches between these two. TNA iMPACT! Thursday, September 20th, 2007 TNA showed a recap video of last week’s events to open the show as we are just 2 weeks away from the big 2-hour debut of “iMPACT!” on Spike TV! We were then brought to Kurt Angle’s locker room where he apologized to Kevin Nash for his behavior at No Surrender two weeks ago concerning his disrespectful manner. Kevin appreciated the apology, but once he found out what Kurt and Karen did last week to Sting he quickly warned them of past occurrences. Nash told them that while he was with the nWo in WCW, they constantly harassed Sting with beat down after beat down. However, after a while Sting just disappeared and reappeared at a later date with a much darker side to him, Nash called it his demon side. Today though, Nash believes that Sting can unleash that side of him faster than before because of the experience factor. So he told them that they needed to apologize to Sting immediately, and after much debate it was concluded that Karen would apologize later tonight. The question remained as to if Sting would buy into it or not. The opening match saw Judas Mesias in his TNA in-ring debut against “Showtime” Eric Young. Cutting to the chase, Judas Mesias absolutely annihilate Eric as the end result saw him bloodied. Shark Boy even tried coming to Eric’s save, but his attempt proved to be a failure. Finally though, someone that was able to match the size of Mesias came in to fend off the attacks, and that man was “The War Machine” Rhino. He came fully equipped with a steel chair, but by that time Judas was already in the midst of leaving. Backstage was AJ Styles dressing up The Christian Coalition’s locker room in Samoan style in preparation for Christian Cage’s match tonight against Junior Fatu. Once Cage arrived to the locker room he seemed pretty impressed, but that’s not to say Tomko was. In fact, it was the exact opposite for him, he seems to hate the fact that AJ is becoming more and more of a lackey to Christian instead of focusing on what’s at hand – his match tonight against Ron Killings, and then at Bound For Glory with Tomko against Team Pacman for the TNA World Tag Team Titles. Together they left, but before Christian left he told Samoa Joe to watch closely tonight because he’ll still be undefeated upon never being pinned or submitted, and that record will not end at Bound For Glory, he said. AJ Styles’ match against Ron Killings was next and it certainly would end in controversy. Among the many distractions that Pacman Jones would provide early in the match, none of them came about to be more damaging than his last act when he used a can of spray paint to spray the eyes of AJ Styles. This allocated Ron “The Truth” Killings the win as Team Pacman walked off celebrating with their titles. The entire match itself though was a great showcase of athleticism. Both guys can certainly work and it’s been a while since we’ve seen them both in a one-on-one match, possibly since the Asylum days. They’ll definitely be going full out at Bound For Glory! Karen Angle then made her way down to the six-sided ring for her public apology to the former WCW World Heavyweight Champion, Sting. She said that she was deeply sorry, but because she is married to an 11-time World Heavyweight Champion, as she said, she got caught up in the moment. All she wants now though, is for Sting to forget about this and wrestle a good old fashioned match against her husband at Bound For Glory. Apparently Sting has not forgotten about the scuffle at No Surrender, because he appeared and broke the news that Karen was now under a restraining order from now until Bound For Glory. Forget about slapping Sting anymore, she can’t even be within 50 feet of him. Police were on scene to arrest Karen, and this left TNA & IWGP World Heavyweight Champion, Kurt Angle in a fury. The main event for “iMPACT!” this week was “The Instant Classic” Christian Cage facing off with the former Rikishi, now known as Junior Fatu. The opening moments of the main event saw Junior Fatu pretty much dominate the match. Cage showed signs of fearing the stink face, but who wouldn’t? Fatu used his size and Cage’s fear to his advantage early on when he shoved him off the ring apron into the guardrail. Fatu would even go on to deliver a powerful super kick, an impressive move for his size. Never doubt Christian Cage though, he would come back and prevail with a victory in true Cage fashion with a roll up pin from behind. This came about during some distraction from AJ Styles, but they would both pay for their actions in the form of a stink face. Tomko would get in the act, as would Samoa Joe, who later stood tall with Junior Fatu as we then broke to breaking events in the back. To close the show we saw a relentless attack perpetrated by Judas Mesias on “The Icon” Sting. He was choking the life out of Sting by wrapping his neck with a rope. Why was he doing this? Tune in next week on the final 1-hour edition of “iMPACT!” on Spike TV! TNA iMPACT! Thursday, September 27th, 2007 James Mitchell along with his son Judas Mesias opened the last 1-hour edition of “iMPACT!” on Spike TV by warning Sting of a confrontation tonight. Sting was playing hard to find all night after this warning. The opening contest saw Team 3D defeated Sonjay Dutt and Shark Boy in a match that was filled with a lot of entertainment. At one point during the match, Devon had his rear end bitten by Shark Boy, and there was Brother Ray on the ring apron laughing his head off. Sure enough, Ray would get the same sharp feeling on his rear end, which quickly cut that laughter. Later on, Sonjay Dutt and Brother Ray kept shaking hands and upon smiling at each other. After all the fun and games though, 3D did what they were set out to do and that was win this match. Backstage with Jeremy Borash was VKM’s BG James and Kip James. BG went on to shoot on the fans and say that they didn’t know what The Voodoo Kin Mafia was capable of. Kip James then brought up how he was happy to see BG pissed because he’s pissed off too. The fans can kiss their asses, is what Kip said to end that segment. Our next match on iMPACT! saw the team of Lance Hoyt and Jimmy accompanied by Christy Hemme go against The Motor City Machine Guns. Shelley and Rave started out against each other with quick back and forth action. The fans were cheering on Shelley and Sabin big time once they started their double team tactics. Mike Tenay went on to say that this was Jimmy Rave’s second stint in TNA, and yes that’s true, Rave wrestled for TNA back in 2003 mainly for their syndicated program, Xplosion. Back in the ring though, Hemme’s team began to pick up the advantage once Hoyt used his size and power against Shelley. Furthermore, Hoyt along with Rave would tryout their own double team tactics but it didn’t seem to work too well when Shelley dodged a clothesline in the corner as Sabin was tagged in upon capping off a head scissors on Rave for a near fall. However, The Motor City Machine Guns would try their cohesiveness work one more time on Hoyt and it would make good for a win. After the match, Team 3D came in to beat down Shelley and Sabin as they look to destroy every team in their quest to regain the TNA World Tag Team Titles. They smashed Shelley on top of Sabin through a table, and then took care of Shark Boy who came into the ring. Mike Tenay and Don West then plugged that starting next week and every week thereafter, iMPACT! will be 2-hours on Spike TV at the same day and same time. Don West also broke news that Leticia Cline, backstage interviewer at TNA, will be in the latest edition of Playboy and she’s on the magazine cover. The TNA Knockouts were in action next as we move towards Bound For Glory in Atlanta, Georgia where the first TNA Women’s World Champion will be crowned in a Gauntlet Match. It was Christy Hemme vs. Gail Kim vs. Jackie Moore vs. Ms. Brooks vs. Roxxy Laveaux of The Voodoo Kin Mafia! This match was filled with a lot of great action all over the place and let me tell you, these girls know how to wrestle! At one point, Roxxy tossed Ms. Brooks to the outside and her back hit the ring apron really awkwardly. She was okay though and the match continued with Gail and Jackie going at it. All the Knockouts got to show off their moves during this match. Suddenly at the end though, Kip James appeared in the ring and ultimately helped Roxxy gain the victory over Gail Kim. Next we had Sting finally emerge and ambush Judas Mesias and James Mitchell during an interview backstage with JB. Sting and Mesias began brawling all over the backstage area as the fight would continue to the ring. After using the fire extinguisher on Mesias and synching in the Scorpion Death Lock, the TNA & IWGP World Heavyweight Champion, Kurt Angle would come in and interfere with the action and go forth with a beat down on Sting as well. Rhino came to Sting’s aid though and took the hits so to speak for Sting. Karen Angle appeared at the top of the entrance way cheering on her husband when all of a sudden “The Monster” Abyss appeared to gain revenge over Judas Mesias. His arms were taped up from the vicious attack he suffered from Mesias two weeks prior. That was the conclusion of iMPACT! as we look towards the 2-hour premier next Thursday night!
Yes, I know the backstory sucks, but didn't know really what to put, so I just threw in results from wikipedia and wrestleview. So credit goes to them. Basically this is starting at the debut of the 2 hour premier of iMPACT! Hopefully I can run TNA well and people can enjoy this diary. Also, note, I will not be following the injury that Judas Mesias recently encountered in AAA.
