PGHW: Re-gaining the Glory (C-Verse 2009)

Recommended Posts

I'm kinda new to this, so any comments will be greatly appreciated. The background is completely legitimate, as I simmed the game from 2007 to December 2009 and then edited the data so it was similar to the simmed one, then started a game with PGHW. Pride Glory Honor Wrestling It has been a turbulent couple of years for PGHW. At the beginning of 2007, they appeared to be ahead in the race for top promotion after the INSPIRE debacle, but BHOTWG reclaimed their head spot. This was arguably helped by the defection of PRIDE Koiso in 2009 due to a contract dispute. Toshiharu Hyobanshi from GCG also defected to them, decimating the already struggling company. However, PGHW have replaced Koiso with his partner, Kozue Kawashima, who has become incredibly talented, as he trained harder than ever in 2009 after his partner left, and has become very well rounded. Other new talents such as Chojiro Kitoaji and SUKI gave the company future stars. Seiji Jimbo, son of the current owner, had a very short tenure with the company, as he decided to go to GCG after his first tour. His father was less than impressed, but Seiji has become a huge star for GCG, similar to what happened with Sadaharu. Other breakout stars for PGHW during the two years from 2007-9 were Raymond Diaz, Shingen Miyazaki and Akinori Kwakami, who have all reached amazing heights. A tag reign alongside Danger Kumasaka for Kwakami increased his technical skills and basic knowledge immensely, and he is now a feared submission worker in the upper echelons of the promotion. You may be wandering where I come in, but I don't so far, as I have just joined the PGHW booking team, as they were looking for new, fresh minds, and I was just that. I was allowed control over the occasional card, and have impressed enough to work alongside Nobuatsu Tatsuko as co-Head Booker. And now, in December 2009, I intend to make my mark on the history of Japanese wrestling. We have strong Main Eventers, a reliable midcard, and an encouraging undercard, all we need is to have the right matches, then we will be unbeatable. I spoke to PRIDE Koiso, now known as BURNING Koiso back in November, when he won the Burning World title, and he was on top of the world, I can only imagine what he felt when he dropped it one week later to Yasunobu Masuno. Now I hope I can make Koiso regret his defection, by making his friends mega-stars. You managed to get the PGHW job? Excellent work! :) Sanda for a megapush, I see his vs Kawashima as being one of the centerpieces of PGHW. I would've added Koiso to that but he seems to have buggered off... and shame you haven't got Jimbo Jr yet. I imagine he'll be in PGHW one day. Looking forward to reading this, should be good.

Thanks for the support so far guys. DREAM Tour Show #1 Wednesday, Week 1, December 2009 Held in front of 5,000 fans at the Akita Stadium in Tohoku. Pre-Show Match 1: Ryoma Muruyama vs. Kalu Owusu Kalu dominates in some parts, but Ryoma got the victory after hitting the Muruyama launch following an enziguri Winner: Ryoma Muruyama by pinfall C Main Show Match 1: Chojiro Kitoaji vs. Danger Kumasaka vs. A very impressive match, with Chojiro’s technical skills really showing here against the veteran Kumasaka. Kitoaji started off with the match in his favour, using his youth to outrun Kumasaka, but was stopped in his tracks by a spinning back elbow from Kumasaka, knocking him to the mat. Kumasaka pretty much dominated from that moment, with Chojiro making a few comebacks. One such one was where he reversed a suplex attempt into a suplex of his own. He then got up and tried to go for an snap elbow drop, but Kumasaka moved out of the way at the last minute, and then synched in the Aurora Surfboard Vice, causing Kitoaji to tap almost immediately. Winner: Danger Kumasaka by submission in 11:04 B Match 2: Washi Heat & Tetsunori Yasuda vs. Strong Style Yoemon & Masayuki Shiga vs. Not quite as good as the previous match, but that can be expected of lower card workers. Still a solid match for the workers involved, with Masayuki Shiga and Washi Heat being the main focus of the match. Heat & Yasuda showed some good chemistry as a team, constantly tagging each other and hitting double team move after double team move on poor Strong Style Yoemon. Eventually Yoemon gets the tag, allowing Shiga to come in and clean house. Shiga clotheslines Heat & Yasuda to the mat before pulling Yasuda up to his feet, looking very confident. He then tries to go for the Dead Lift German Suplex, but Heat, who had gotten up, attacks Shiga from behind to stop him. Yasuda promptly capitalises by booting Shiga in the gut, lifting him up, and nailing him with the Minilla Plunge. He makes the cover while Heat deals with Yoemon on the apron. Winner: Heat & Yasuda by pinfall on Masayuki Shiga by Tetsunori Yasuda in 10:16 C+ Match 3: William Hayes vs. Noriyori Sanda vs. An amazing match, no chemistry seen, just two good workers doing their best. Hayes resorted to his usual underhanded ways, trying to steal a win with roll-ups and placing his feet on the ropes, but Sanda refused to go down. Hayes began to get frustrated and tried to go for the Hayes Fever Backbreaker, but Sanda displayed his athleticism by backflipping out of the move, and then unloading with the Sanda Series, two fast kicks to the chest, followed by a Spinning Heel Kick. Hayes was completely dazed by this combo, and crumpled to the mat. Sanada then dominated pretty much from now on, and got the victory after reversing a Slick Trick attempt into a DDT, then quickly nailing the Dynamo Elbow Drop. Winner: Noriyori Sanda by pinfall in 13:01 B+ Match 4: Burning EXILE vs. SUKI vs. An interesting mix of styles ends up producing a great match for these two. EXILE has recently been on a roll with the company, quickly becoming popular, having chosen to develop his technical skills to a point where he has become a great all-rounder. SUKI has also been on a roll, and he showed that during the match, always standing up and taking more punishment whenever he was knocked down. At one point, he whipped Exile across the ring to the ropes, and when he came back, leapfrogged him. Exile then came up behind him and leapt onto his shoulder, and tried to go for a hurracanrana, but SUKI held strong, and drove Exile into the mat with a piledriver, driving his head into the mat. SUKI pretty much dominated from then on, but Exile made a comeback and almost nailed the EXILE Driver, but SUKI reversed it into a DDT, and then followed up with the Mountain SUKI, a Snap Driving DDT, before making the cover and getting the win. Winner: SUKI by pinfall in 9:34 B Match 5: Raymond Diaz vs. Lee Bennett vs. Diaz pretty much dominated a lot of this match up, taking Lee to the limit. Bennett managed to make a few comebacks, such as ducking under a clothesline and kicking Ray in the back, then bringing him down with a neckbreaker. Diaz got up pretty quickly however, and threw Bennett into the corner, following up with a charging spear right to the gut. Lee stumbled out of the corner, only to be levelled with a short arm clothesline. Diaz then began to get very confident and tried to go for the Ray Gun, but Lee managed to summon some strength and resisted, managing to push ‘The Monster’ away. Diaz wasn’t about to give up however, and kicked Lee viciously in the gut, causing the veteran to jump into the air in pain. Diaz then took this chance to nail the Ray Gun, connecting with the sickening sound of Lee’s head bouncing off the canvas, and then made the cover. Winner: Raymond Diaz by pinfall in 16:07 A Match 6: Akinori Kwakami & Kozue Kawashima vs. Bryan Holmes & Billy Russell vs. This match was surprisingly open, with Holmes and Russell not giving a single inch to Kwakami & Kawashima. They managed to get control early on, with both men singling out Kwakami and slowly wearing away at his joints to weaken him enough for Russell to lock in the Triangle Choke. Kwakami endured about six minutes of being beaten, before flipping out of a suplex and leaping to the corner, making the hot tag to Kawashima, who came in and connected with two K-Kicks, incredibly stiff dropkicks to the chest, to Russell and Holmes. Kozue pulled Russell, the legal man, up to his feet and whipped him across the ring, and snapped him over with a snap suplex when he came back. Russell bounced off of the mat, but made his way back up to his feet. Kozue was surprised, and booted Russell in the gut, before nailing him with a stiff clubbing blow to the back. Kozue and Kwakami then began to do what their opponents had done and singled out Russell, beating him up and weakening him for the Kwakami Painlock. Russell eventually tagged out to Holmes, but Bryan found himself singled out and partner less, as Russell was badly damaged. He soon found himself on the wrong end of a Kawashima Driver 2005 from Kozue, and Kozue quickly made the cover for his team. Winner: Kwakami & Kawashima by pinfall on Holmes by Kawashima in 15:55 B Main Event (Match 7): Eisaku Kunomasu vs. Mito Miwa vs. An impressive match, with both men giving it their all. Eisaku managed to sneak control from Miwa early on, but that soon changed when the champ reversed a suplex into a Side Slam, and then locked him in a tight headlock. Eisaku soon fought out of that, locking in an armbar, but Miwa rolled out of the move and got up, resulting in a stand off between the two. The fans applauded them, but they didn’t realise as they charged in towards each other, resulting in a double collision, as each man went for lariats. They stayed down for a little bit, only moving once referee Yugoro Adachi had reached 7. Eisaku was the first man up, and capitalised by running towards Miwa and driving his knee into the champs head. He then promptly locked Miwa in a grounded hammerlock, before constantly driving his knees into the limb, trying to take that limb out of Miwa’s arsenal. Miwa tore his arm out of the hold, and held it close to prevent further damage. Kunomasu went back on the attack however, pulling off an arm wringer. But he was not done, as he pulled Miwa over to the ropes and wrapped his arm over the top rope. He then unleashed five consecutive kicks to the shoulder, causing Miwa to yell out in pain and collapse to the mat. Kunomasu pulled Miwa back up to his feet, but was booted in the gut and nailed with a lightning fast snap suplex. Both men continued to trade control for pretty much all of the match, and just as the match was approaching the 30 minutes time limit, Miwa managed to connect with the Pride Bomber, knocking Kunomasu to the mat, but he had used his bad arm, preventing him from making the cover right away, as he held his arm in pain. He only began to make the cover with two seconds remaining, but the referee called the match just before Miwa was about to win it seemed. Winner: Draw at 30:00 B+ Overall: B+ Comments appreciated, as well as suggestions about write-up length, as I don't know if I should do loads or just highlights etc.

PrideGloryHonor.com An amazing tour show for our first of December, with a fantastic match going on between Raymond Diaz and Lee Bennett, along with Mito Miwa and Eisaku Kunomasu fighting to a draw, but it looked like Miwa was about to win, can he prove that was in fact true tomorrow night when he teams with Nobuatsu Tatsuko to take on Kunomasu and Shuji Inukai, a man he has storied history with? Also, we see International tag champs in action as Owusu & Mataoka take on Chojiro Kitoaji & Tetsunori Yasuda, as well as seeing Washi Heat taking on William Hayes. Akinori Kwakami and Kozue Kawashima are also in action, in singles action against their opponents from yesterday. Really good first show, presentation is clean and easy to read and if you're worried about the length of the match write-ups, they're fairly oncise but there's enough detail there for people to get the flavour of the action, which is important in a diary where the feuds will mostly be built up with what happens in the ring. International Tag Team: Kalu Owusu & Masutaro Kataoka(c) vs. Chojiro Kitoaji & Tetsunori Yasuda Personally not a fan of 'second tier' tag belts, it's hard enough keeping one tag division alive yet alone two, so it will be interesting to see if you can keep both tag divisions going or if you will eventually unify the tag titles. After that observation/comment I think the champions will retain in their first title defence. Washi Heat vs. William Hayes Hayes is established enough as a quality Gaijin performer, and I see him picking up the win in this one Non-Title: Shingen Miyazaki vs. SUKI SUKI seems to have developed into a promising mid-card performer over the past 2 years and he put together a good win over Burning EXILE. I can see SUKI continuing his run, and getting the victory in this non title affair, leading to a re-match with Miyazaki, except next time it will be for the title. Billy Russell vs. Akinori Kwakami Kozue Kawashima vs. Bryan Holmes I can see these two pairings splitting the series with these singles match-ups. Bryan Vessey w/Larry Vessey vs. Raymond Diaz Diaz over-powers the Vessey brother to victory Mito Miwa & Nobuatsu Tatsuko vs. Eisaku Kunomasu & Shuji Inukai These sort of 'dream tag' match ups are always a toss of the coin sort of affair, so it could go either way, but I'll stump for Miwa & Tatsuko.

Joshua managed to sneak control from the veteran Hirokazu, but that was quickly ended when Hiro connected with a stiff punch right to the jaw, and then locked Taylor in a tight armbar. Taylor rolled forward and flipped out of it after an initial struggle, and floored Hirokazu with a clothesline, as the veteran was caught off guard. He pretty much dominated for two more minutes, before putting the veteran away with his new finisher, the Stitch In Time, a lightning fast Bridged Tiger Suplex, and got the victory. Winner: Joshua Taylor by pinfall in 4:56 B Match 2: Masutaro Kataoka & Kalu Owusu(c) vs. Chojiro Kitoaji & Tetsunori Yasuda For the PGHW International Tag Titles vs. A good match for the people involved, especially considering Kalu’s blatantly one dimensional skills. The match started with Kalu and Kitoaji, with Kalu getting control right away, stampeding over the youngster with a shoulder block and then driving his knee into Chojiro’s head. Kitoaji was beaten senseless for a little while, until making the hot tag out to Yasuda, who leapt into the ring and delivered a step-up enziguri to Kalu, dazing the bigger man, before following up with a Jumping Clothesline, finally knocking the big man over. Kataoka entered the ring as well, but was floored by a stiff back elbow from Chojiro, who had also entered the ring. Yasuda was soon stopped however, and Kalu tagged out to Katoaka, who instantly began to pick Yasuda apart limb by limb. He even managed to lock in the Sunrise Hold, but Kitoaji came in once more and kneed the veteran in the head. The match was very back and forth, until Kataoka finally managed to synch the Sunrise Hold in on Yasuda while Kalu brawled on the outside with Chojiro. Yasuda struggled for a long time, but eventually succumbed to the pain. Winners: Kataoka & Owusu by submission on Tetsunori Yasuda by Masutaro Kataoka in 10:12 to retain. Kataoka & Owusu make defences number 3 of their titles. C+ Match 3: Washi Heat vs. William Hayes vs. Both men brought their all, and proved that they deserved to be pushed higher up the card. Washi got control in the early goings, starting the match with a stiff clubbing blow to the back of Hayes, and then unloaded with a series of high knees to the face, sending Hayes reeling backwards. Heat tried to follow up with a clothesline, but Hayes ducked and nailed the Hayes Fever Backbreaker out of nowhere, stopping Heat in his tracks. Hayes collapsed to the mat as well. The rest of the match was pretty much the same as this, with each man building up a head of steam, only to be stopped by a big move from the other. Another example was when Hayes had hit another of his backbreaker variations on Heat, and began to get c0cky and strutted around. Heat used this time to get up to his feet, and when he did; he spun Hayes around and nailed him with a spinning elbow right to the jaw, followed by a snap suplex. The end of the match came when Hayes tried to go for the Slick Trick, but Heat wriggled out of it, kicked Hayes in the gut and then nailed the Washi Explosion, dumping Hayes right on the top of his head. Washi made the cover and it was pretty much obvious what the result was going to be. Winner: Washi Heat by pinfall in 11:45 B Match 4: Shingen Miyazaki vs. SUKI Non-Title vs. SUKI once again amazes the audience, as did Shingen. Both men have been real breakout stars since 2007, and they showed why tonight. When they locked up at the start, they had a series of reversals, with each reversing whatever the other reversed into, showing off their great technical skills. This ended when Shingen didn’t give SUKI time to reverse a DDT, driving him head first into the mat. Miyazaki then began to stomp away viciously at the back and legs of SUKI, eager to weaken them for the Miyazaki Destruction, his re-named Ankle Lock. SUKI fought back however, not wanting to fall this quickly, and made his way up to his feet. When he stood up, Shingen tried to floor him with a clothesline, but SUKI ducked underneath it and swept his legs out from under him. He then drove his knee into the skull of Shingen before pulling him up to his feet. Shingen countered by elbowing SUKI in the gut, causing the youngster to back off, allowing Shingen to leap into the air and chop SUKI across the chest, causing the youngster to fall backwards with a thud. Miyazaki picked SUKI back up and whipped him across the ring, and when he came back he tried to nail a Tilt-A-Whirl Backbreaker, but SUKI flipped out of it and unloaded on Shingen with seven stiff kicks to the back and chest, before finishing him off with a thrust kick to the jaw, causing Miyazaki to stagger backwards. SUKI then capitalised by dropping him with a dropkick, effectively gaining control. He pretty much remained in control from then on, surprising Shingen, only ever losing control for a few seconds before stopping Shingen in his tracks again. The end came when he locked in the SUKI Special III, a Clover Leaf/Sharpshooter combo. Shingen resisted for as long as he could, but eventually tapped out due to the pain. Winner: SUKI by submission in 11:45 A Match 5: Billy Russell vs. Akinori Kwakami vs. Both men gave their all here tonight, eager to be the first of their respective teams to get the victory, and neither gave way to the other at all. Billy instantly targeted the neck and upper back of Akinori, setting him up for the Triangle Choke later on, but the rising star managed to escape a lot of the holds that he was put in before eventually dropping Billy with a spinning back elbow. He then began to kick the knees of Billy before pulling his opponent up to his feet. Akinori then tried to whip Billy across the ring, but Russell reversed it and whipped Kwakami across the ring instead, and when he came back, Russell nailed him with a stiff punch to the jaw, causing Akinori to stagger back and then fall over. Russell tried to weaken Akinori’s neck more, but the rising star resisted the blows and once again fought his way back up to his feet. When Billy tried to kick him down, Akinori grabbed his leg and lifted him up into the air by it before bringing him down into a Knee Breaker. He didn’t release it however, instead nailing two more Knee Breakers before finally releasing Billy, who yelled out in pain and rolled around on the mat. The rest of the match was basically Akinori working on Billy’s legs more while Russell did the same to Akinori’s neck and back. However, in the end, it was Akinori who had Billy in the Kwakami Painlock, and Billy tapped out after only a few second in the move due to the incredible pain it inflicted. Winner: Akinori Kwakami by submission in 12:55 B Match 6: Kozue Kawashima vs. Bryan Holmes vs. Kozue was eager to get the victory, as was Bryan, as he his team was 0-1 so far against Kozue & Akinori tonight. He started off the match in control, using his agility to hit chop after chop to the chest of Kozue before whipping him into the corner. As soon as he hit, Bryan charged in, aiming for a corner clothesline, but Kozue got out of the way just before he hit, causing Bryan to crash into the turnbuckles. When he staggered out, Kozue connected with his trademark K-Kick, dropkicking Bryan back into the turnbuckles. After he hit, Bryan fell backwards onto the mat, and was hit in the head with a stiff knee shot from Kozue. Kawashima then pulled Bryan up to his feet before whipping him across the ring, and when he came back, connected with the Double K Killer, a spinning explosion suplex, dropping Bryan on the lower part of his neck. Kozue went for the cover, but Holmes resiliently kicked out. Kozue then pulled Bryan up to his feet, but was hit right in the jaw with an elbow, and Bryan then took him down with a short arm clothesline. Bryan followed up with an elbow drop, and managed to remain in control for a little while. When Kozue regained it, Bryan went for the Cyclone Shock Kick, but Kozue ducked underneath it. He then booted a surprised Bryan in the gut and connected with a fast Kawashima Driver 2005, and made the cover. He managed to get the victory, and made it 3-0 against Holmes & Russell in total. Winner: Kozue Kawashima by pinfall in 13:37 B+ Match 7: Bryan Vessey w/Larry Vessey vs. Raymond Diaz vs. Despite the obvious size difference, Bryan Vessey put up one heck of a fight, toppling the giant form of Raymond Diaz several times during the match. Diaz almost looked to be in trouble a couple of times. Control shifted several times, with Diaz holding onto it for longest, before being dropped by a Vessey Line lariat from Bryan, knocking him over. Vessey then resorted to his other strong suit, mat wrestling, and did a great job of keeping the behemoth down on the mat. To start, he locked him in a grounded headlock, before eventually focusing on Ray’s arms, attempting to take away the source of his strength. He then tried to lock Diaz in a knee bar, but the behemoth pushed him away with his feet before clambering up to his feet. Vessey charged back towards Diaz, only to be flipped over by a strong clothesline from Ray. Vessey landed right on the back of his head, and rolled around in pain, allowing Diaz to recover from the damage he had suffered. After a while, Ray pulled Vessey up to his feet and whipped him into the corner using all of his strength. When Vessey hit the turnbuckles, he instantly fell forward due to the impact and grabbed his back in pain. Control continued to shift in pretty much that way for the rest of the match, with the end coming when Vessey attempted the Vessey Driver. Diaz countered the move by dropping forward, catching Bryan in the perfect position for the Ray Gun, and drilled Bryan into the mat with it, before making the cover and getting the victory, much to the visible distress of Larry on the outside. Winner: Raymond Diaz by pinfall in 14:50 B+ Main Event (Match 8): Mito Miwa & Nobuatsu Tatsuko vs. Eisaku Kunomasu & Shuji Inukai vs. Each participant in this match was eager to destroy their opponents. Eisaku because it would lead to a title match with Miwa, Shuji because it could mean the same for him, Nobuatsu as he would get back on track, and Miwa because he would solidify his place as face of the company. The match started out between Tatsuko and Shuji, with both trading heavy blows between them. Shuji was the first to gain visible control following a missed Tatsuko Blind Kick attempt, and connected with a back suplex, driving Tatsuko’s head into the mat. Shuji then drove his elbow right into the gut of Tatsuko before going for a cover. Tatsuko promptly kicked out of it however, and slowly staggered up to his feet. Shuji tried to go for a chop to the head, but Tatsuko ducked and connected with a Spinning Kick to the gut, knocking the air out of Shuji’s gut and making him double over. Tatsuko took advantage by running to the ropes, and when Shuji tried to stand up straight to retaliate, nailed him with a Tatsuko Roaring Sole Kick, a running one-footed dropkick, right to the face of Shuji. Inukai staggered backwards and fell into his corner, allowing Kunomasu to tag himself in. The rest of the match was pretty much a switch of control between all four members, depending on who was in the ring at the time, as the match was very open, with nobody gaining control for long. The end of the match came when Eisaku and Mito, the illegal men in the match, began to brawl on the outside, while Shuji nailed Tatsuko with a Shuji Flash High Knee, followed by a kick right to the head, knocking Tatsuko down to the mat. Shuji then waited for Tatsuko to slowly get up, and when he started to, ran to the ropes. When he came back, he went for the Untouchable Lariat, but Tatsuko ducked under it. He kept running however, and bounced back off the ropes before flattening Tatsuko with an Untouchable Lariat right to the back of the head, knocking him out. Shuji made the cover, and Miwa was too busy brawling with Kunomasu to notice, realising just as the referee counted to three. Winners: Eisaku Kunomasu & Shuji Inukai by pinfall on Nobuatsu Tatsuko by Shuji Inukai in 22:45 B+ Overall: B+ Comments appreciated

Match 2: Shingen Miyazaki vs. Mohamed Al Yaaggoudi Miyazaki gets the win in short manner with the Cavalry Charge, a running thrust kick. Winner: Shingen Miyazaki by pinfall B Main Show Match 1: Ryoma Muruyama vs. Masayuki Shiga For the PGHW International Championship vs. Ryoma met a strong challenge from Shiga, who truly proved that he can still go, and will not give way to the youngsters just yet. Ryoma had a hard time getting the veteran off of his feet due to the size difference, but eventually he managed to take him down with a flying bulldog, making Shiga bounce off of the mat. Ryoma continued the fast assault, not allowing Shiga to catch a single breath. After hitting a senton, he jumped up top and went for the Muruyama Launch, but Shiga rolled out of the way, causing him to crash land on the mat. Shiga then stood up and pulled the young man to his feet before spinning him round. He then went for the Dead Lift German Suplex, but he took too long doing so, and Ryoma flipped backwards out of it, and dropkicked the veteran stiffly between the shoulders, knocking him onto his face. Ryoma then leapt up top again, albeit a little tired, and went for the Muruyama Launch, and connected this time to the back of Shiga. He then rolled the veteran over and made the cover, getting the upset victory. Winner: Ryoma Muruyama by pinfall in 7:40 to retain C Match 2: Washi Heat vs. Joshua Taylor vs. Both men are strong contenders for various titles, and both showed why they are. Neither gave way to the other, with Washi hitting quick technical moves, while Taylor countered and went for some strong moves. Heat managed to gain control after countering a spinebuster attempt into a roll up, but Taylor kicked out. Heat quickly got up and pulled Joshua up with him, and hit him with a stiff punch right to the jaw, followed by a dropkick to the chest, knocking Taylor off his feet. Washi then used this time to recover, but Josh quickly got back up and knocked Washi over with a discus clothesline, allowing him to steal the control again. He then began to get c0cky and posed for the crowd before slowly pulling Heat up to his feet. Josh then tried to go for the Stitch in Time, but Heat elbowed him in the temples to counter, and then reversed it into a back suplex. Washi then began to scout Taylor, and as soon as the young gaijin was up, he booted Josh in the gut and drilled him with the Washi Explosion, and got the victory. Winners: Washi Heat by pinfall in 11:33 B Match 3: Tetsunori Yasuda vs. William Hayes vs. Yasuda was very eager heading into this match, as he could prove that he is worth his position, and a win over Hayes would definitely do that. Hayes was equally eager not to lose, and he brought his A-game to the match, decimating the young Yasuda with a barrage of kicks and a series of backbreakers, causing Yasuda to be in almost constant pain for most of the match. He managed to sneak control away from Hayes at one point in the match when he dropped behind Hayes during a suplex, and drilled Hayes into the mat with a reverse DDT, but he was unable to capitalise due to the pain he was in, allowing Hayes to swiftly regain momentum. William began to get increasingly confident, like his friend Josh Taylor, as the match went on, and made a very c0cky pin by placing his foot on Yasuda’s chest after connecting with a snap suplex. This allowed Yasuda to pull him down to the mat with a dragon screw leg whip, and then began to pick apart his legs. Despite this, Hayes managed to regain momentum and nailed the Slick Trick on a tiring Yasuda to get the victory. Winner: William Hayes by pinfall in 13:59 B+ Match 4: SUKI vs. Noriyori Sanda vs. SUKI had been on a real run as of late, producing fantastic matches, and was now looking to dominate Sanda, who is still looked at as the second in command if you will of the next generation of main eventers, next to Kozue Kawashima. SUKI instantly began the match by taking Sanda to the mat, but that proved to be a poor decision, as Sanda reversed every hold he was put into, and eventually SUKI was forced to stand up and stop locking in holds. Sanda was at more of an advantage here as well, being the taller and strong of the two, and dominated SUKI for a little while, at one time delivering a vicious Spinning Headscissors into a DDT that spiked SUKI into the mat, and surprised the fans, as they thought Sanda was too big to pull off such a move. SUKI managed to fight back little by little, and almost had Sanda in position for the Mountain SUKI, but Sanda countered the move and hit the Sanda series, flipping SUKI over with the final heel kick. He then waited for SUKI get up, only to drive him back into the mat with a fishermans suplex, before heading up top. He leapt high into the air, and hung in mid-air for what seemed like forever, before connecting with the Dynamo Flying Elbow, almost crushing SUKI underneath him. He got the victory, causing SUKI to throw a fit after the match. The smaller man then chased after Sanda, and it seemed like he was going to sneak attack him, when Shingen Miyazaki showed up from backstage, stopping SUKI in his tracks and beginning to brawl with him. Both men fought back backstage, much to the happiness of the crowd, who applauded their brawl. Winner: Noriyori Sanda by pinfall in 15:44 B+ Match 5: Alexander Robinson w/Lee Bennett vs. Masaru Ugaki vs. Ugaki had not been seen for a little while, and he wanted to make a big return by beating one half of the tag champs, but Robinson was not willing to just let Ugaki step all over him, and put up a tough fight. Ugaki tried to ground Robinson in the early goings, but the Canadian reversed every attempt Ugaki made, and exploded with a pair of snap suplexes followed by a jumping knee drop right to the face of Ugaki, causing the young star to roll around in pain, holding his face. Robinson then pulled him up to his feet and whipped him across the ring. He tried to nail a spinning back elbow, but Ugaki ducked under it and kept running. However, Alex thought fast and knocked Ugaki over with an arc kick right to the jaw, spinning Ugaki around. He then waited for Ugaki to steady himself, before going for a backflip kick, but Ugaki moved out of the way of this as well, and promptly locked him in a leg lock as soon as he hit the mat. Alex managed to get control again later on, and took the victory after nailing Ugaki with the Canadian Violence, a brutal mafia kick, out of nowhere, knocking him completely out cold. Winner: Alexander Robinson by pinfall in 12:31 B+ Match 6: Akinori Kwakami vs. Bryan Holmes vs. Kwakami was justly confident heading into this match, while Holmes was just incredibly focused, as he had to pick up the win for his team, who were currently 0-3. Kwakami instantly began to weaken the legs of Holmes by continually throwing him to the mat with leg whips and then driving his elbow or knee into the joint. Holmes managed to gain a huge amount of momentum after countering a Knee Breaker attempt into a DDT, and then locked Kwakami in a tight body scissors. Kwakami was able to eventually escape the hold, but Holmes got up quickly and dropped the young star as soon as he got up with a jab to the jaw followed by a delayed suplex. Holmes then tried to go for a reverse suplex, but Kwakami reversed it mid-move and nailed a reverse suplex of his own. Holmes bounced off of the mat, but got up to his feet, albeit slowly. Kwakami tried to capitalise by nailing Holmes with a knee breaker, still aiming to weaken him up for the Kwakami Painlock, but Holmes resisted being picked up, and retaliated by locking Kwakami in a headlock before going for a Full Nelson. Kwakami tried to fight the hold, but he soon found himself fading away, before shooting full of life again and trying to break Bryan’s grip. Holmes kicked Kwakami stiffly in the back however, causing him to weaken his resistance, and Holmes swiftly nailed a beautiful, depending on how you look at it, Final Impact, making Kwakami land on his head, and bridged it to make the cover. He managed to get the victory, and he had a huge celebration with himself, and Russell who headed down to the ring, as his team was now 1-3. Winner: Bryan Holmes by pinfall in 14:28 A Match 7: Kozue Kawashima vs. Billy Russell vs. You could easily feel the hatred in the ring when both men simply stared each other down. Neither moved, as each was well aware of what the other could do. However, they had to lock up sometime, and it was Russell who charged in and tackled Kozue to the mat. The young star tried to wriggle away to escape Russell’s upcoming vicious assault, but Billy struck him in the jaw with a strong punch, before kneeing Kozue stiffly in the gut several times. Later on in the match, Kozue managed to escape the assault and catch Russell off guard with a roundhouse kick to the side of the face, knocking the MMA star to the mat. Kozue then recovered, but when he noticed Billy was getting up, he dropped him back down again with a K-Kick between the shoulder blades. He then spent the rest of the match slowly picking away at Billy’s joints, weakening him up for a new finisher. Russell mounted several comebacks, only to be knocked back by Kozue, who was now in full flow. In the end, Kozue had Russell locked in the Future Clutch, a Camel Clutch where Kozue pulls the opponent back further than usual, and Billy tapped out after fighting it for a fair amount of time. Winner: Kozue Kawashima by submission in 13:47 B Match 8: Buddy Garner vs. Yoshimi Musashibo vs. Both men are famous for their technical skills, and neither wanted to give way in their first match of the tour. The match started off fairly equal, with the two men trading reversals between the two of them, before Garner suddenly exploded with a Belly To Belly Takedown, sending Yoshimi up and over his head. He then quickly went to work on the lower legs of Yoshimi, eager to set them up for the Tendon Hold. Yoshimi refused to let this happen however, and fought his way back up to his feet, and let loose with a pair of Kesagiri, karate chops, right to the neck of Garner, knocking him down onto one knee. Yoshimi then booted him in the chest and locked him in a front facelock, before sending him overhead with a Single Arm Suplex, also known as the Musashibo-Plex I. Yoshimi then tried to weaken Garner’s upper body for the Yoshimi Lock, but Garner escaped and tackled Yoshimi down to the mat and began to pummel away at him, trying to end the match swiftly. Yoshimi countered with a Kesagiri, and remained in control for a while. Garner was able to gain control one more time, and went for a Pile Driver, but Yoshimi countered and quickly sent him packing with the Yoshimi Explosion ’02, and made the cover. Garner looked to be out cold, and Yoshimi got the victory. Winner: Yoshimi Musashibo by pinfall in 17:58 A* Main Event (Match 9): Nobuatsu Tatsuko w/Mito Miwa vs. Shuji Inukai w/Eisaku Kunomasu vs. Although there was no real tension between Tatsuko & Inukai, there was a lot of it present during the match, as Miwa and Eisaku were at ringside. When both men locked up, they each tried to go for a hip toss, only to have the other reverse, then have him attempt a hip toss and so on for some time, before Inukai became frustrated and stampeded over Tatsuko with a discus clothesline. He then locked Tatsuko in a head lock, trying the keep the legendary man down, but Nobuatsu slowly fought his way out of the move, and gained control by punching Inukai in the gut four times, before launching him up with a Northern Lights Suplex. He bridged it, but Inukai kicked out just after the two count. Shuji quickly rolled over, and gave Tatsuko no time to capitalise by driving his knee into Tatsuko’s head repeatedly. From then on, there were several changes in control, as each managed to counter the others move. The final moments of the match were filled with action, as Miwa and Kunomasu began to brawl on the outside, ending with Miwa knocking Kunomasu down with a Pride Bomber, which temporarily distracted Inukai. Tatsuko took advantage of this and whipped a stunned Inukai across the ring, but only narrowly ducked an Untouchable Lariat attempt. Shuji stopped just a bit too close to Tatsuko, and was caught with a sick Blind Kick to the back of his head, knocking him flat on his face. Tatsuko then rolled Shuji over and made the cover, and got the victory. Miwa entered the ring and celebrated with Tatsuko, but was hit from behind by Kunomasu, and was quickly put in the Kunomasu Vice. Tatsuko tried to help him out, but Shuji had recovered and levelled him with an Untouchable Lariat. The final image of the night was Kunomasu and Inukai standing triumphant over Miwa & Tatsuko. Winners: Nobuatsu Tatsuko by pinfall in 22:49 B+ Overall: B+ Main Feelings: It seems to be way too easy to get good matches, as evident in Vessey vs. Yamanoue getting an A, yet Shuji & Tatsuko keep pulling out B+’s. Hayes, SUKI, Sanda and Heat have all impressed me, and I think deserve title reigns in the near future. Comments appreciated

Kato unleashed several volleys of punches, seemingly knocking Kataoka out, but the veteran quickly took him down to the mat and locked him in several holds aimed at weakening his back, as well as his legs. Kato managed to escape in the end, and went back to just pummelling the veteran into the mat, but Kataoka once again managed to get away from the assault and connected with a running back elbow, and then locked the Viper in a grounded headlock. The match was full of momentum changes, and Kato looked to get a victory on his debut, but Kataoka managed to reverse a whip into the corner with a short arm clothesline, and then ran around the ring waiting for Kato to get up, and when he did, leapt into the air and connected with the Flying Forearm, flooring Kato again. He hooked the leg, and looked incredibly happy as he made the cover, and managed to score the victory. Winner: Masutaro Kataoka by pinfall in 8:10 B- Match 2: Chojiro Kitoaji vs. Seiji Jimbo vs. Seiji looked more than happy to be back with PGHW again, albeit on a loan contract, but as soon as he saw his opponent, his face became very focused. Much of the early goings saw both men emulating their fathers by using their moves, such as Seiji flipping Kiotaji over with a Jimbo Strong Enziguri Kick, a move which got a huge pop. Kitoaji fought back however, stopping Jimbo’s momentum dead in it’s tracks with a spinning suplex, followed by a pin attempt. Seiji kicked out, and went on the offensive again. Both men exchanged momentum, until the match reached boiling point when Kitoaji whipped Jimbo off of the ropes and went for the Kitoaji Lariat. Seiji ducked however, and kicked Kitoaji in the back. He then tried to go for a Backdrop Driver, but Kitoaji flipped out of it and landed on his feet, before attempting the Kitoaji Lariat again. Seiji ducked it again, and this time when Kitoaji turned around, he booted him in the gut and went for a body slam before driving Kitoaji head first into the mat, a move called the Jimbo Driver, and hooked the leg. Kitoaji looked to be out cold, and Jimbo got the victory, causing the fans to explode and into applause for the young star. Winner: Seiji Jimbo by pinfall in 9:44 B Match 3: Washi Heat vs. Roku Sotomura vs. Roku, a new signing by the company, looked incredibly determined. Washi looked equally as such, and the two locked up as soon as the bell rang, with neither man gaining control right away. Roku tried to for an arm drag, but Washi countered it into a clothesline, flooring Roku. Heat then tried to lock him in an arm bar, but the more experienced technician Roku easily escaped the hold and kicked Washi in the head, knocking him down to the mat. Roku quickly used this time to recover and got up, and went straight to work, trying to weaken Washi up for the Roku Chin Clutch, a Grounded Dragon Sleeper/Body Scissors combo, but Heat managed to regain control by landing about six straight elbows to the jaw of Roku, before dropping him with a snap suplex. He pulled the technician up to his feet and whipped him into the ropes, and when he came back drove him into the mat with a Snap Powerslam, causing him to bounce off of the mat. Washi was pretty much in control for the rest of the match, with Roku managing to seize control a few times, but Washi ended up getting the victory after planting Roku with a frighteningly quick Washi Explosion and made the cover. Winner: Washi Heat by pinfall in 12:51 C+ Match 4: Sam Keith vs. Tetsunori Yasuda vs. Keith walked down to the ring in a very confident way. He laughed when he saw his opponent, but was quickly shut up when Yasuda tackled him to the mat and began to pummel him into the mat. The veteran managed to throw Yasuda off of him, but when he tried to get up, he was kicked stiffly in the head, sending him back down again. Yasuda was showing a new intensity we had not seen for a while, but it did not last him however, as Keith managed to wrestle control away from him, and sealed the deal with a Twisting Neckbreaker. Yasuda grabbed his head in pain, and Keith quickly set about dismantling Yasuda, but the youngster showed strong resilience and reversed a surfboard into a jawbreaker, and then kicked Keith stiffly in the chest. The veteran was caught off guard by this assault, but managed to come back in the end. The biggest point in the match was when Yasuda went for the Minilla Plunge, and it seemed like he was going to get the upset, but Keith reverse it at the last minute, and dragged Yasuda down to the mat before swiftly locking him in the Proton Lock. The fans began to cheer when they saw the move, and Yasuda flailed about, trying to reach the ropes, but gave up and slapped the mat. Winner: Sam Keith by submission in 12:46 B+ – great chemistry Match 5: Shingen Miyazaki © vs. SUKI For the PGHW Historical Japan Championship vs. Both men in this match were very eager to come away with the win, and Miyazaki was very intent on keeping his title, as he wanted to have a good reign. SUKI brought it to him however from the get go, dropping him with a beautiful dropkick right to the chest, causing the champ to stagger backwards, and then SUKI connected with a Running Knee right to the jaw of Miyazaki, getting tremendous air-time with it as well. Miyazaki fell right to the floor, and tried to get back up, but found himself in a tight arm bar. He managed to fight out of it purely due to his power advantage, but received a stiff dropkick right to the knee for his troubles, followed by an enziguri from SUKI. Shingen spent the rest of the match regaining control, with SUKI still putting up a lot of resistance, showing a brand new side to him. Shingen managed to counter a Mountain SUKI attempt near the end of the match, and flung SUKI overhead with a back body drop. He then stalked SUKI, waiting for him to get up, and when he did, he charged towards him and kicked him right in the jaw with the Cavalry Charge. SUKI crumpled from the impact and Shingen fell on top for the cover, and got the victory. After Shingen had celebrated, the fans stood up and applauded SUKI’s efforts. Winner: Shingen Miyazaki by pinfall in 14:47 to retain. B – bit of a let down I think Match 6: Team Toronto© vs. Joshua Taylor & William Hayes vs. Team Toronto were very confident going into this match, despite taking losses in the last few weeks, the champs still look very strong. To start off, it was Hayes vs. Robinson, and it was fairly even in terms of skills, as they both traded holds and moves until Robinson was able to counter a German Suplex attempt with a stiff elbow to the gut followed by a Backflip Kick to the head of Hayes, knocking him down to the mat. Robinson then tagged out to Bennett, and they double teamed Hayes, whipping him into the ropes and hit a Double Flapjack, making Hayes bounce off of the mat. Bennett then continued where Robinson left off, dominating Hayes, until the youngster managed to nail a spinning lariat after being whipped to the ropes, and tagged out to Taylor. Josh came in and attempted to clean house, but he was floored by a Clothesline from Robinson who had entered to aid Lee. Josh recovered quickly however, and threw Robinson from the ring before turning his attention to Bennett, only to get driven into the mat with a DDT. Lee dominated Taylor before tagging out to Robinson once he had gotten back on the apron. Robinson measured Taylor as he got up to his feet, and then charged full pelt at him once he had, and floored him with the Canadian Violence. Taylor flipped over from the impact, and Robinson made the cover after Bennett speared Hayes off of the apron. The tag champs looked very dominant here, and retained their belts. Winners: Team Toronto by pinfall on Joshua Taylor by Alexander Robinson in 14:56 to retain. B Match 7: Kozue Kawashima & Akinori Kwakami vs. Bryan Holmes & Billy Rusell vs. Kozue and Russell were the first to start off this match, and they went right to it, with each man trying to ground the other, only to be countered. Russell eventually managed to seize control after Kozue stopped him doing a hip toss, only to be kicked stiffly in the stomach and then in the head. Kozue dropped down to his knees, doubled over, allowing Russell to kick him square in the ribs. He bounced into the air, and Billy tried to get the cover, but Kozue kicked out before the two count. Russell then tagged out to Holmes, who continued the assault on Kozue, but was stopped in his tracks when he tried to suplex the young star, and ended up on the wrong side of K-Kick, sending him flying backwards. Kozue then leapt to his corner and made the hot tag to Kwakami, who charged into the ring and floored an interfering Russell with a leg lariat, and then drove his elbow right into the gut of Holmes. He pulled the Canadian to his feet, and then kicked him stiffly in the knees, before going for a Knee Breaker. Holmes had seen this happen too many times, and reversed it into a Roll-up. The rest of the match was full of near falls, and all men weakening their opponents for their respective submission finishers. In the end, there was a little déjà vu, as Kozue had Russell in the Future Clutch, and Billy tapped out due to being in the middle of the ring and Holmes brawling with Kwakami on the outside. Winners: Kawashima & Kwakami by submission by Kwakami on Russell in 15:03 A* - WOW Match 8: Bryan Vessey vs. Danger Kumasaka vs. Vessey had a huge smile across his face on the way to the ring, and the match was full of him being confident, but this came back to bite him at several points in the match, as Kumasaka was able to counter moves with ease and then locked Vessey in sick submissions. Vessey eventually got tired of toying with Kumasaka, and tried to put him away with the Vessey Line, but Kumasaka ducked underneath it and brought Vessey down to the mat with a neckbreaker. Kumasaka then worked on weakening that neck for the Aurora Surfboard Vice, and kept control for pretty much the rest of the match, surprising the fans. Vessey managed to fight his way out of a headlock late on in the match, and whipped Kumasaka across the ring. When Danger came back, Vessey exploded with the Vessey Line, flipping the veteran over. But he wasn’t done, he pulled his opponent up to his feet, wanting to prove a point, and booted him in the gut, placed him on his shoulders and drove him into the mat headfirst with the Vessey Driver. He then made the cover, and got the victory, with Kumasaka being out cold due to being dropped on his head. Winner: Bryan Vessey by pinfall in 14:46 B Match 9: Team Dynasty 2000 (Inukai & Musashibo) vs. Buddy Garner & Nobuatsu Tatsuko vs. There was a huge load of tension present in this match, and that made it all the more exciting. Musashibo and Tatsuko were the first to start out, and they immediately went for big moves, with Yoshimi trying to go for a Musashibo-Plex, but Tatsuko countered and drove Yoshimi into the mat with a Reverse DDT. Tatsuko then tried to get the cover, but Yoshimi kicked out, and sprang full of life, quickly getting up to his feet. He exchanged blows with Tatsuko, but ended up on the receiving end of a series of chops. Yoshimi was backed into the corner, but took all the punishment without flinching, and when Tatsuko was tiring, unloaded with a several consecutive Kesagiri shots right to the throat of Tatsuko, almost breaking his neck from the impacts. Tatsuko tagged out to Garner, and Yoshimi tagged out to Inukai, and the two heavy hitters went at it, trying to prove who is better by hitting the bigger move. Inukai looked ready to go for the Untouchable Lariat early on, but he was sent flying overhead by a Garner Belly To Belly Takedown, and he hit the mat with a thud. Both men continued to trade moves before tagging back out to their respective partners. Tatsuko and Yoshimi began to take the match to the mat, but that was soon ended when Tatsuko quickly left that territory, as he couldn’t win against Yoshimi. They faced off for a long time, with only a short break when they tagged out to their partners again, and they appeared to be tiring, only for Tatsuko to go for the Tatsuko Blind Kick out of nowhere. Yoshimi managed to sense it somehow and ducked, and then used the extended leg to floor Tatsuko and lock him in the Yoshimi Lock. He synched it in tight, and Tatsuko fought it for a long time, but eventually tapped out when Garner was unable to help him, as when Garner climbed into the ring to help, he brawled with Inukai instead, as Shuji got in his way. The fans were on their feet in appreciation after this match, as they had seen an instant classic. Winners: Inukai & Musashibo by submission on Tatsuko by Musashibo in 25:48 A* Main Event (Match 10): Mito Miwa© vs. Eisaku Kunomasu For the PGHW Glory Crown Championship vs. Both men had each other figured out, as they had watched each other for weeks, and this showed when they traded blows at the beginning, with neither gaining an advantage, until Miwa dropped Eisaku with an arm drag, but received a kick to the head as revenge by Eisaku. Kunomasu then capitalised on a dazed Miwa and began to pick him apart. Kunomasu dominated for a short while after this, putting Miwa in painful hold after painful hold, trying to destroy the champ for good. However, Miwa was having none of it, and fought out of a Crowbar, despite it causing him a lot of pain to do so, and then nailed Amphora Clutch Drive, a Full Nelson Legsweep, driving Eisaku’s head into the mat. He went for the cover, but Kunomasu kicked out. For a while after that, Miwa was in control, hitting powerful moves to keep the challenger down, but Kunomasu managed to counter a Standing Armbar into an arm drag and put Miwa in an arm bar instead. This routine pretty much continued throughout the match, with Kunomasu bringing the technical side to the match, always managing to counter the big moves of Miwa and then put him in painful holds. The end came when Kunomasu had Miwa in the Kunomasu Vice, but Miwa fought out of it, catching Kunomasu off guard, and lifted Eisaku into the air. Kunomasu tried to escape the next move, but Miwa planted him with a Single Arm Sit-Out Powerbomb, and went for the cover. The fans were on the edge of their seats, and breathed in sharply when Eisaku just kicked out. Miwa wasn’t about to let him go however, and quickly followed up with the Pride Bomber out of nowhere when Eisaku got up to his feet. He went for the cover again, and this time got the victory. Once again, for the third time tonight, the fans were on their feet for seeing a fantastic match. Some great ratings for the last show, with 3 A* matches and 2 of them in the main event slots that really deserved an A* in my opinion. One minor tip/criticism, the match write-up's could do with some paragraphing, just to break up the blocks of fairly lengthy text. Despite the fact that you've gone for what I would call a 'detailed summary' style, the match write-ups are still long enough for some seperation in the text to make it an easier read.
