ECW - The Rise of Extreme 2008.

Recommended Posts

I'll be using the Death of the WWE scenario to do this dynasty just so everyone knows. I'll give a brief summary of ECWs history and a slight summary on what essentially has happened so that ECW is back. If the creator of the mod wishes me to post his backstory i shall :) The Recap: Following the "Death" of the WWE, Vincent Kennedy McMahon made several sacrificies to keep his company afloat, One of these was the sale of Extreme Championship Wrestling. One will remember the times of ECW, the growth of the company after its split from the NWA, the time when they got the PPV deal and aired Barely Legal where Terry Funk won the gold, the turbulant times when WCW and the WWF snapped up all ECWs talent and of course the time when ECW was so financially drained, the company was sold off to Vince McMahon. Then there was of course the revival in 2005, the WWE aired what was for one night only entitled One Night Stand, which was held in the Hammerstein Ballroom and was a critical and financial success. With the glory of this one PPV, the WWE held One Night Stand 2 in 2006 which was then followed up by a television show entitled "ECW on Sci Fi" which after a few shows was criticised for it's lack of hardcore action and overall entertainment value. Despite the show garnering high ratings for Sci Fi, It was cancelled during the WWEs downfall and eventually sold off to one Paul Heyman. So that brings us too now, 2008, it's a new year for ECW and Paul Heyman, will he make ECW a force alongside WCW, TNA and a fallen WWE or will the company succumb to the death that it has once experienced. Roster and the first show in the next 2-3 posts.

Dreamer starts off quick, hitting hard rights and lefts at Terkay but he seems unmoved by Dreamers attempt to catch him off guard

Dreamer is then caught in a belly to belly suplex as Terkay looks to cause pain.

Dreamer is then thrown to the outside as Terkay soaks up the heat he has drawn from the crowd.

Tommy then grabs a steel chair from the outside and sneaks up on Terkay and smashes it over his head much to the delight of the crowd.

After several chair shots and holding a dented chair, Dreamer goes out to get another, comes in and runs at Terkay only for Terkay to duck and take him out with a spear-takedown.

Terkay uses his MMA background to keep Dreamer grounded and eventually bloodies the ECW Original.

He then picks Dreamer up and hits him with what he calls the Spin Doctor and makes the 3 count infront of a stunned crowd who just witnessed a demolition of their man.

The same could be said for The Backseat Boyz.

Trent works on Jose at the open with a barrage of kicks and punches to send him to the floor.

Quick tags from Trent & Johnny enabling Jose to be cornered and beat upon

Jose manages to tag in Joel and Joel starts to clean house with quick ariel moves sending Johnny out to the floor.

Joel and Jose go outside to get the tables and set them up in the ring which was a bad idea for them as it allowed The Backseat Boyz to get back into it.

Jose gets taken out by the table and leaves Joel all alone to be put through a table via a Cradle Breaker allowing them to pick up the win and the Tag Titles
. Winners - The Backseat Boyz (New ECW Tag Team Champions) Rating - D- (Awfully low again) The Sandman vs Rob Van Dam vs Yoshihiro Tajiri VS VS

This match is for the ECW Heavyweight Championship

Yoshihiro Tajiris music is up first as the crowd are fired up for this match, Tajiri walks out to a great reception.

Enter Sandman is played next as the crowd roar and search around the arena looking for the Sandman, after he's finally spotted, he takes atleast 3-4 minutes to actually get to ringside and the crowd just eat it up.

Finally, Walk hits the PA and the crowd go completely nuts, their hero Rob Van Dam makes his way through the curtain to a thunderous roar from the crowd.

The bell rings and the match is go, all 3 men eye each other up as RVD and Tajiri both go for the Sandman who manages to take both men down with his signature cane.

Sandman then repeatedly hits both men with the Cane much to the delight of the crowd.

He then goes outside to get more weaponry only to not find what he's looking for and be blindsided by Tajiri flying over the top rope.

While both men brawl on the outside, RVD then decided to join in the fun by leaping himself over the top and onto the two on the outside which sparked the crowd into an "ECW!" chant.

While all 3 men gained composure Tajiri started to use some of his energy to lash some kicks at the legs of both RVD and the Sandman to take them back to the ground and hit a very stiff buzzsaw kick to the head of the Sandman who probably was too drunk to feel anything.

Tajiri then throws RVD back into the ring and goes straight for a pinfall but only gets a 2 count and unleashes some kicks to the midsection and tries again, unsuccesfully for a 2 again.

With the Sandman coming back into the ring with his cane of course, Tajiri switches focus and goes for a baseball slide which takes the Sandman back out to the floor again.

With Tajiri busy this gives RVD the time to regain himself and go on the attack nailing kick after kick after kick aaaafter kick to Tajiri taking him out the ring much to the approval of the crowd.

RVD then goes to the outside for a steel chair, which he ultimately throws at the head of Tajiri taking him down for The Sandman to smack RVD with the cane.

With the 3 men brawling near the crowd area and the crowd eating it up, The Sandman kept swinging himself around and barraging lefts and rights to anything that moved, almost knocking down a fan in the process.

Taking the action back into the ring, RVD throws the chair into the direction of the Sandman which he catches and is caught with the Van Terminator (i think anyway) which takes The Sandman down.

RVD then focuses on Tajiri who gets a kick square to the head.

RVD heads up to the top rope, and hits the 5 star frog splash on Tajiri for the 3 and the ECW Title.
Winner - Rob Van Dam (New ECW Heavyweight Champion) Rating - B- Final Rating - C So that was the first show I know the Main Event was pretty predictable but that's due to a lack of roster at the moment. Thoughts, criticisims of the show are welcomed. (Not all shows will be written like this, maybe most ECW Live! shows but PPVs and when we get a TV deal will be written out in fuller detail, not just bullet point notes.)
Not a criticism. I was just shocked to see your first card since the revival of ECW pits Tommy Dreamer (the former face of ECW) getting absolutely owned by a newcomer to pro wrestling.
It's fine mate. Basically, since Terkay is a big man and what not and just looks intimidating i needed him to go over a bigger name. Dreamer wont be jobbed as such as theres a storyline going with this ;) Cheers for reading and giving an opinion though :)

ECW News & Updates. ECW have came to a working agreement with Pro Wrestling NOAH, New Japan, All Japan and Zero-One for future talent trades. ECW have already utilised this by agreeing a switch of KENTA from NOAH with Yoshihiro Tajiri going the other way for 1 night only. Another ECW Original in Kid Kash joined on a Pay Per Appearance deal with the company also. ------- ECW Live! Preview. The Hammerstein Ballroom will be the host once again of ECW Live! as ECW arrive into town once again for another show. Last weeks show saw Rob Van Dam walk out of the Ballroom as the new ECW Heavyweight Champion defeating both The Sandman and Yoshihiro Tajiri. This week RVD will be facing off against The Sandman one-on-one as he looks to avenge the loss from last week. This match is for the ECW Heavyweight Title and it should be a great bout. Also scheduled for tomorrows show is the beast that is Sylvester Terkay facing off against Hardcore Ninja, will Terkay continue his brute performance that he showed against Dreamer last week or will the Ninja shock the big man. Also the ECW Tag Team Champions will be in action as they face the new team of Christian York and Teddy Hart collectively known as York & Hart in non-title action, will the new tandem be able to top the champs or will The Backseat Boyz prove why they are the best tag team in ECW. All this and more at ECW Live! Predictions Card: Rob Van Dam (c) vs The Sandman - ECW Heavyweight Championship Sylvester Terkay vs Hardcore Ninja The Backseat Boyz vs York & Hart Tommy Dreamer vs Chris Masters Kid Kash vs Aaron Aguilera *KENTA is working elsewhere and has been removed from show* Predictions, comments as usual are welcome. Show will be up in the next hour or 2, if not then, in the morning. I'll be using the bullet points again for this show, and when the first PPV comes it will be more in-depth per-se

Joel once again does the usual "as many sexual innuendos in one paragraph" bit until Callis tells him to shut up much to the dismay of the crowd.

Callis runs over the crowd incase the crowd forgot and hypes up Rob Van Dam vs The Sandman for the Title in the main event.
Kid Kash vs Aaron Aguilera VS

Bawidtaba by Kid Rock hits the PA as the crowd rise to applaud the returning Kid Kash to the ring.

Next out is Aaron Aguilera who is relatively unkown although he was in WWE as Carlitos bodyguard for those that care.

The two tie up as Kash uses his speed to work around the stronger Aguilera.

Throughout the opening minutes Kash worked around trying to ground Aguilera and use his speed to counter anything Aguilera put forward.

Aguilera quickly too control after Kash missed a body press and dominates Kash keeping him down.

Man In The Box hits as Dreamer walks out to a cheer once again looking determined with his stitches in his head from last weeks battle with Terkay.

Masters take to the task early by jumping Dreamer before the bell.

Masters unleashes a series of rights and lefts in the corner as he tries to keep
Dreamer down until Tommy fights back and takes Masters outside with a clothesline.

Dreamer takes a moment to compose himself then goes outside where he is met with a shot to the head with the steps.

Masters continues to work the head of Dreamer by wrapping his head off the ringpost before throwing him back into the ring where he makes the pin only to get 2.

For the following period Masters decided to taunt Dreamer and the ECW fans as a whole, calling them names and what not which led to Dreamer getting back into it ultimately dodging a clothesline and hit the Dreamer DDT for the 3.
Winner - Tommy Dreamer Rating - C+ The Backseat Boyz (c) vs Christian York & Teddy Hart VS

The Backseat Boyz come out to A few cheers, seems they won some fans for last weeks win.

York & Hart come out to a mild reaction, pretty mixed too, cheers for York, boos for Hart...

Trent Acid takes advantage by beating on Teddy Hart quickly and using quick tags to ground Hart.

Kashmere manages to bloody Hart pretty quickly with a monstrous chair shot.

York comes in unsuccessfully and falls to the champs quickly.

Hart crawls back in to be hit by an Inverted Brainbuster from Trent Acid for the 3.
Winners - The Backseat Boyz Rating - D- Sylvester Terkay vs Hardcore Ninja VS

Terkay storms to the ring to a chorus of boos from the ECW faithful, clearly not for destroying Dreamer last week.

Hardcore Ninja runs to the ring to a mild pop as the fans want him to beat up Terkay.

Straight away Terkay takes down Ninja and pummels away at him.

Picks him up and hits a variety of suplexes and then hits him with the Face Paver for the 3.
Winner - Sylvester Terkay Rating - E+ (Ouch) Dreamers Revenge!

Terkay is celebrating his "win" over the Hardcore Ninja when Dreamer runs down the aisle with a chair to the crowds delight and nails Terkay in the head.

Several more shots later and a DDT onto the chair, with the crowd cheering and Dreamer looking down to Terkay, he sent a message to Terkay and yells that he will see him next week.
Rob Van Dam (c) vs The Sandman VS This match is for the ECW Heavyweight Championship

Enter Sandman hits the PA as the crowd search around the arena cheering as they look for The Sandman who eventually turns up in one corner, stumbles, drinks, hits the can over his head and the crowd eat it up.

Walk hits the PA next as the crowd go wild as RVD appears on the aisle with the ECW Title wrapped around his waist slapping the hands of the fans.

The two show a mutual respect for each other as the bell rings via a handshake and size each other up before locking up.

RVD uses his agility and speed to topple The Sandman several times to gain a quick advantage.

RVD taunts a little before hitting a rolling thunder then going for the pin only to get a 2.

Once again he uses his agility to topple Sandman until Sandman dodges a wheel kick and picks up the cane and just whacks RVD over the head to get back into the match.

Sandman goes outside to garner more weapons and what not to throw into the ring.

He comes back in hitting RVD with a trash can, a chair, that cane again and several other items before staggering around and then going for the cover, 1...2...kickout.

Sandman goes on the offence and RVD tries to counter, Sandman goes for the White Russian Leg Sweep only for RVD to reverse it into a facebuster onto the chair.

RVD then picks up Sandman, throws the chair in Sandmans face, puts him face first onto a steel chair, hits the top rope and nails a Split-Legged Moonsault for the 1, 2, 3.
Winner - Rob Van Dam (1 Defence) Rating - C Celebration.

RVD holds the title before going into the crowd for a litte fun with the fans.
Rating - B Final Rating - C- Thoughts on this show, i'm still trying to build up a decent roster currently so that's possibly why the shows aren't exactly "fantastic" ratings wise. So yeah, 2nd show now, the future holds a lot. Next weeks show preview and updates later on tonight.

ECW News. ECW have come to a pay per appearance deal with a former ECW original, it is so far unkown if he will be turning up on ECW Live! this week or if he will be kept off until further notice. ------------- ECW Live! Preview. We are 2 weeks into the revival of Extreme Championship Wrestling and the action just will not stop. We have a stacked hour of action prepared for all our viewers who attend and this is just a sample. Rob Van Dam, the ECW Champion will face off against Yoshihiro Tajiri, his other opponent from the triple threat 2 weeks ago in non-title action. Also, The Backseat Boyz will be in action as they face off against The SAT in a rematch from 2 weeks ago. And of course Tommy Dreamer will square off one on one with the beast Sylvester Terkay as he looks to gain revenge on Terkay for the brutal beating he suffered. Also we have the return of the legend Terry Funk to ECW as he faces off against Johnny Stamboli. All this and more live at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City! Easy Prediction Card. Rob Van Dam vs Yoshihiro Tajiri The SAT (Joel & Jose Maximo) vs The Backseat Boyz (Trent Acid & Johnny Kashmere) Tommy Dreamer vs Sylvester Terkay Teddy Hart vs Super Crazy Terry Funk vs Johnny Stamboli. I decided to change the show to 1 hour as sometimes booking 90mins with a limited roster can be a pain:p Full show will be up tonight as I have to finish writing it up. Are people ok with the bullet point stuff for now i presume? So yeah, predictions, comments and what not are welcomed as per usual :)
