Good show. I was kinda surprised that Burke turned on Benjamin. Oh and for the record I am digging the undefeated streak of Colt Cabana. Anyways KUTGW.
Well I'm glad it was a surprise. I kinda teased it a little bit with the backstage segment before the match, but I'm glad it surprised you. All will be revealed over the next couple of weeks. As for Colt, I think once he's over enough he is capable of putting on some great matches. The Streak is set to continue for a while yet, and hopefully it will lead to something good. Again man thanks for the comments, always nice to read.

We are sold out in Pittsburgh, PA, and tonight, the march towards Unforgiven continues. Coach: Well now we know that MVP will defend the World Heavyweight Championship at Unforgiven against Rey Mysterio. Cole: Also tonight, the tournament to crown a new United States Champion continues, more quarter final match ups this week... NO CHANCE Cole: But up first, we are being joined by the interim general manager of Smackdown, the chairman of the board, Mr McMahon. Coach: I talked to Mr McMahon earlier today... Cole: Are you still campaigning for the general manager’s job? Coach: Yes I am. And as soon as I get it, your ass is out the door. Cole: What? All I did was... Coach: Shut up Cole. Mr McMahon is trying to speak... Vince: Ladies and gentlemen... as you know, from the outcome of last week’s main event... Rey Mysterio will go to Unforgiven and take on MVP for the World Heavyweight Championship. Also that night... the next number one contender will be crowned. At Unforgiven... it will be the Big Show... taking on Bobby Lashley... in a number one contenders match! Cole: The Big Show and Lashley one on one? Two hue powerhouses in the ring against each other! Coach: Why are these two getting another shot at this? Didn’t they lose last week? Vince: As for tonight... tonight’s main event will see the competitors in these two matches will team up tonight. Tonight... it’s going to be MVP and Rey Mysterio... teaming up to take on the Big Show and Bobby Lashley! Thank you very much, and enjoy the show. Cole: Wow! Mysterio and MVP teaming up?! Coach: Well I don’t usually question Mr McMahon, but I have to question this. What is going on here? It’s going to be like a 3 on 1 handicap match for MVP! -------------------- Brian Kendrick v Super Crazy The Cruiserweight Champion returns to Smackdown since being drafted to ECW, as he takes on Smackdown newcomer Super Crazy. Crazy has arrived on Smackdown with the Cruiserweight Championship in his sights, so a win over the champion would put him right in the title hunt. The match starts with a series of armdrags legdrags, as neither man can get a clear grip on the match. An Irish whip sends Kendrick off the ropes, but when he goes for a sunset flip, Crazy rolls through and almost gets a 3 count. The counters continue, as Kendrick goes for a hurricanrana only for Crazy to hit a tilt a whirl backbreaker. At one point it looked like Kendrick was going to hit sliced bread, but as he ran Crazy to the corner, the Mexican pushed Kendrick off of him. In the corner, Crazy climbed to the second rope and the punches rained down, with the fans calling out the numbers Spanish. Kendrick looked in trouble, and Crazy went for the Crazy-bomb to end it... but Kendrick countered down the back. He managed to run Crazy to the corner... sliced bread! Kendrick hooks the leg, 1... 2... 3! Brian Kendrick wins, but he was in a battle tonight. Shad: Yo yo! Teddy we made it! JTG: Teddy we here man! Teddy? Vince: Hang on a second Shane, I’ll need to call you back. What the hell are you two doing here? Who do you think you are, barging into my office like that?! Shad: Uh... are we on the right show? JTG: Yeah... uh... where Teddy at? Vince: Teddy Long? He’s on Raw now. Shad: Raw? Oh man... JTG: Dang. But ain’t this the Smackdown general manager’s office? Vince: Yes it is. I am in charge for now. Now what are you two guys doing here? JTG: Yo Vinny Mac, it’s like this. Teddy Long signed us to a contract on Smackdown a couple of weeks ago. Shad: Yeah we was gonna be here last week, but we had a little transport problem, know what I’m sayin’? JTG: Yeah we couldn’t get out the hood last week. But we know how we gettin’ home tonight! Shad: Yeah, yeah. We saw this fly limo out in the back man. We gonna ride it all the way back to Brooklyn! Vince: A limo? Out in the back? Shad: Yeah. Vince: Was it long, black... has a WWE logo on the side of it? JTG: You saw it too?! Vince: That’s my limo you morons! Shad: Oh... that’s your limo? Well you know... we was only just gonna borrow it for a while. JTG: Yeah I mean... we weren’t really gonna steal it like, but uh... Vince: You know what? I’ve had enough of this. I can’t believe you two have contracts here! Now both of you, get the hell out of my office! Shad: No problem Vinny Mac... Vince: That’s Mr McMahon! JTG: Yo we hear you Vinny... Vince: Vinny Mac? Both men are new to Smackdown, but while Burchill is looking to continue with the dominant form he showed on ECW, Val is looking to return to former glories. And it was the former Intercontinental Champion who started this match strong, taking Burchill to the mat and driving the elbow to the chest. Burchill shows his power when he reverses a Venis Russian leg sweep into a powerslam, following it up with a hard backbreaker. Burchill then takes control with a series of high impact power moves, including a shoulderbreaker and a fireman’s carry slam. Burchill then hits a jumping neckbreaker and goes for the cover, but Val kicks out. Upset at this, Burchill loses his composure, and Val takes advantage by getting a 2 count after a roll up. Val looks to punch home his advantage, planting Burchill with a spike DDT. Val then rolls back the years, as he climbs to the top rope. He goes for the money shot... nobody home! Burchill managed to roll out of the way, and he picks Val back up to his feet... and unveils a new finishing move, locking Venis in his version of the torture rack. Burchill has the hold on tight, and although Val tries to fight it, he has to submit, sending Burchill through to the semi finals. So... what’s your plans now you’re back on Smackdown? London: I don’t know yet. But... how about you and me getting the old band back together? Kendrick: You want to team again? London: Yeah man. I mean... we were the longest reigning tag team champions in Smackdown history. Kendrick: Yeah but... I moved on. I’m the Cruiserweight Champion now. London: C’mon Brian. We could be tag team champions again like that. I mean... how’d have ever thought Brian Kendrick could be a duel champion? Kendrick: Alright... next week. You and me back together. London: Awesome. I’ll go talk to Mr McMahon and see if he can give us a match. Take it easy buddy. -------------------- Jamie Noble and Billy Kidman v Cryme Tyme Cryme Tyme wrestle in their first match in the WWE in a year against the relatively new partnership of Jamie Noble and Billy Kidman. Cryme Tyme are all dominant in their return to the ring, dominating and overpowering the smaller combination of Kidman and Noble. Noble shows a lot of fight early on as he takes the fight to Shad, and he gains the upper hand after a jawbreaker. Noble and Kidman make plenty of quick tags, and they also hit several double team moves, including Noble whipping Shad in and Kidman nailing him with a dropkick off the top rope. Just as it looks like an upset could be on the cards, Noble goes for a crossbody off the top... only for Shad to catch him and drive him to the mat with a powerslam. Shad tags in JTG, and he nails Noble with right hands and takes care of Kidman with a clothesline. Noble is sent over the top rope, leaving Kidman alone in the ring. It isn’t long until Shad has Kidman up on his shoulders... G9! Shad and JTG sent Kidman crashing to the mat, and JTG hooks the leg for the 3 count! Cryme Tyme make a winning return to the WWE, and it looks like they could soon be chasing after Hawkins and Ryder for the titles. Cryme Tyme beat Jamie Noble and Billy Kidman (C-) ---------------------- Backstage, Josh Matthews is standing by with the World Heavyweight Champion... Josh: Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome my guest at this time, he is the World Heavyweight Champion... MVP! And MVP, tonight you will team up with your opponent at Unforgiven, Rey Mysterio. How do you approach this match tonight knowing in a couple of weeks you’re going to have to defend your title against your partner tonight? MVP: I don’t know what Vince McMahon thinks he’s trying to do, but I ain’t gonna stand for this. If Vince McMahon thinks he can start messing with me, he’s wrong. As for tonight, Rey Mysterio, you better stay out of my way and let me handle this. I’ll take care of Big Show, I’ll take care of Lashley, you just stand in the corner and stay out of my way. I’ll give you a firsthand look at what kind of champion I am. ---------------------- United States Championship Tournament Quarter Final Match Chavo Guerrero v Matt Bentley The last quarter final of the tournament sees Chavo Guerrero take on Matt Bentley. Week by week, Bentley has shown improvement, and he seems to be inching closer and closer to that elusive first victory. Chavo is accompanied to ringside by Vickie Guerrero, still smiling after her presence helped Rey Mysterio defeat Edge at Summerslam. Bentley started by again showing us another side of his move set, catching Chavo early in a release German suplex and following it up with a dropkick. Bentley has Chavo grounded, and he tries to apply pressure with a chinlock. The crowd and Vickie get behind Chavo, and he fights his way back to his feet, breaking the hold with elbows to the gut. The action quickens as Chavo sends Bentley off the ropes... and takes him down with a hurricanrana. Chavo looks to turn it up a notch, and he gets a 2 count after a tornado DDT. Bentley stays down after the count, and Chavo starts to climb to the top rope. Once he gets there, Chavo composes himself... frog splash! Chavo connects, hooks the leg, 1... 2... 3! Chavo Guerrero beats Matt Bentley, and he advances to the semi finals in the chase to crown a new United States Champion. Chavo Guerrero beat Matt Bentley (C) ---------------------- Cole: At this time ladies and gentlemen, we again have to discuss the injury to John Bradshaw Layfield. Several weeks ago, JBL was injured in an extreme rules match with Tommy Dreamer. JBL has been resting at home in New York, trying to recover from a serious neck injury. We had hoped to conduct an interview with JBL tonight, but JBL informed us that he didn’t wish to speak to anybody. We hopefully will be able to interview JBL next week, as we try to figure out if JBL’s career is at an end or if he will be able to return to the ring. ---------------------- When we return from commercial, Smackdown’s Italian stallion is in the ring with a mic... Santino: Last week, Santino Marella beat Don Jillings to advance in the tournament to crown the new United States Champion. Santino sees this as the first step towards Santino become the new Italiano Campione! But tonight, Santino is taking on PM Chunk. Santino Marella has seen this Chunk-y man try to come to Smack-y-down and win the World Heavyweight Championship. But Santino does not think he is quite in Santino’s league. Santino thinks this man is quite boring. Infact, Santino thinks he is not ratings. But Santino... Santino = ratings! And ratings = money! And when Santino is Italiano Campione... Santino will be making lots of money! CM Punk v Santino Marella Last week’s promo where Santino insulted Punk clearly didn’t go unheard, as Punk asked for and received this match tonight. After being told he wouldn’t be getting another shot at MVP, Punk has been in a bad mood, and he approaches this match with a whole new attitude. Punk comes out and goes straight for Santino, looking to put Santino back in his place. Punk hits plenty of well placed kicks early on and an enziguri. Punk sends Santino to the corner, and he follows him in and connects with the knee to the face... but when Punk goes for the bulldog, Santino holds on to the rope and Punk crashes off the mat. Santino now attacks with boots and then he drops the elbow. Santino shows he has a mean streak too, delivering a stiff kick to the small of the back and then catching Punk with a low dropkick. Santino locks on an armbar, but eventually Punk makes it back to his feet. Punk sends Santino off the ropes, and he nails him with a spinning heel kick. Punk follows this up with a double under hook backbreaker, which gets him a 2 count. Santino is rocking now, but he manages to swing a right hand, but Punk ducks... and he gets Santino up on his shoulders... GTS! Punk hits the GTS, goes for the cover... 1... 2... 3! CM Punk gets a measure of revenge on Santino. CM Punk beat Santino Marella (B-) --------------------- Backstage, Eve Torres and the number one contender are ready for an interview... Eve: Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome my guest at this time, he is the man who will team up with MVP tonight, and the man who will face him at Unforgiven... Rey Mysterio! And Rey, how are you feeling about the fact that you have to team up with MVP tonight when you’ll be after his title at Unforgiven? Mysterio: I don’t like it. I mean, MVP could turn around and bail on me during the match, or he could just stand in the corner and refuse to tag me. I don’t trust MVP. I doubt he’ll be the perfect tag team partner tonight, but that doesn’t matter. What matters is Unforgiven. MVP, I will take that title away from you. And it doesn’t matter how many times you try and cheap shot me, or what you do to me tonight. I’ll still beat you MVP... and I’ll show that I’m better than you. --------------------- Montel Vontavious Porter and Rey Mysterio v Big Show and Bobby Lashley Despite what he said in his promo, the captain of the team MVP lets Rey start the match against Bobby Lashley. As the match progresses, it seems that MVP is more than happy to let Rey do all the work, as the champion refuses several tags from Rey early on. Lashley overpowers Rey at one point, and he makes the tag to the Big Show. Show dwarves Rey, but Rey uses similar tactics to what he did in his victory last week, attacking the legs of Show and using his quickness to his advantage. Rey comes off the ropes, looking for the wheelbarrow bulldog... but Show is too strong, and he catches Rey and just tosses him into the turnbuckle. Show tags in Lashley, and it’s Lashley who does most of the damage to Rey, taking him down with hard clotheslines and then getting a 2 count after a spinebuster. Even though Lashley and Show are going to work on Rey, MVP is who they really want, but the champion still refuses to tag in. Lashley sets Rey up for the dominator, but as he lifts Rey up... Rey counters with a Mysterio-rana! Rey is so tired after being in the ring for the duration of the match, but when he crawls to his corner and tries to tag in MVP, the champion drops off the apron. Rey turns around and sees Lashley coming at him... drop toe hold! Lashley is set up... dropkick sends Show down! Rey off the ropes... 619! But wait... MVP tagged in as Rey swung round. MVP is the legal man, and for the first time in the match, he enters the ring and goes for the cover... 1... 2... 3! Montel Vontavious Porter and Rey Mysterio beat Big Show and Bobby Lashley (B+) Cole: Well the MVP and Rey Mysterio partnership somehow managed to work and get the job done tonight. Coach: Well of course it did. MVP was the captain, he was the leader, he did all the work and he scored the pin. Cole: What? He stood on the apron most of the match and then sneaked in at the end for the cover. Coach: Look, none of that matters. What matters is that MVP has led his team to victory. Cole: Well, thank you for joining us for Smackdown folks. Join us again next week as we continue that march towards Unforgiven. I’m good ol’ JR, Jim Ross, alongside Jerry ‘The King’ Lawler, and we are live and we are sold out in Fort Wayne, IN. King, it’s been a pretty hellacious last couple of weeks here, and it doesn’t look like slowing down tonight. King: Absolutely not. This new group, this Revolution as Triple H called it is looking like it’s ready to take over, but we have a bunch of guys who are ready to fight them. JR: Chris Jericho, The Undertaker and Batista were engaged in an out all brawl with Revolution as we went off the air last week, who knows what could happen tonight. Heroes by Motorhead plays out... King: Well... I think we might be about to find out. Here comes Revolution right now. JR: Shane McMahon has seemingly recovered from the chokeslam he took from The Undertaker last week. Shane was taken to the hospital, but he looks alright now. King: Yeah but JR, remember, Batista challenged Shane to a match last week at Unforgiven! I can’t see Shane agreeing to that, not in his condition. Shane: First of all let me tell you all that I have made a successful recovery from the brutal attack I was subjected to last week by The Undertaker. Also, in my absence... Batista and The Undertaker decided to get involved in last week’s main event, handing Chris Jericho a rematch at Unforgiven. Well to you Batista and Undertaker... I have a warning for you both. Do not screw with me! Do not mess with Revolution. Cause I promise you both... you will not survive. With that in mind... I have a couple of announcements with regards to Unforgiven. At Unforgiven... it’s going to be The Undertaker... one on one, with a man who is dying to get his hands on the Deadman. A man who has proved his worth here on Raw. At Unforgiven, it will be The Undertaker... one on one, with Kenny Dykstra! As for you Batista... you have the audacity to challenge me to a match? You want a match Batista? Then you got it! You want me Batista? You can have me... but under my terms. You see I won’t be going into a match with you alone, oh no. At Unforgiven... it will be Batista taking on both myself... and Mr Kennedy. At Unforgiven, we will destroy anybody who... King: What? Wait a second... do you hear that JR? JR: Yes I do... and now I see John Cena! John Cena is coming out here but... King: Why is he coming out here? JR: I have no idea. King: You don’t think is what he meant by when he said to Jeff Hardy he has something in mind for this week do you? JR: I guess it could be... Cena: Alright... alright. Enough of this Revolution stuff. Well after last week... it looks like we know Chris Jericho is getting a title shot at Unforgiven. But what about tonight? What are your plans for the evening Triple H? Maybe just, sit back relax... let the kindergarten group take care of things tonight huh? Or maybe you can put that title on the line... against me? Maybe... you can step up to the plate, grow a set and defend that title tonight! You see, I got a huge win at Summerslam over Randy Orton. And now I got rid of Orton... I want you! I want my title back! I never lost that belt... I had to give it up. And now... I want it back, and I want it back tonight! Triple H: You want me in a title match tonight? Why the hell would I bother with you Cena? I mean... you’re pretty far down the pecking order right now. You don’t deserve a title shot. So why should I give you one? Cena: Why should you give me a title shot? Hell... if I was you I wouldn’t give me one either. I mean... we both know you can’t beat me Triple H. You remember Wrestlemania... you and me, one on one... I played the game and won. And that’s got to be killing you inside. That’s got to be eating you up... infact, I can see it in your face right now. You can’t beat me... and you know it. So why should you give me a title match? If you’re any kind of man... you’ll know exactly why you should give me a title shot! Shane: Whoa... whoa. Hold on. Triple H is just under 2 weeks away from a title match at Unforgiven. There is no way... Triple H: You’re on! You and me Cena... one on one for the title tonight! Shane: Hey! What is this? We just got the title, and now you’re putting it on the line against Cena? Triple H: Yeah I am. And I tell you what else Cena... I don’t want anybody from Revolution getting involved. So you guys are all banned from ringside! Cena... I will beat you tonight, and when I do... then you’ll know what it’s like to play the game! King: God JR... Triple H and Cena one on one for the title! JR: And Revolution are banned from ringside! Has John Cena used the Game’s own ego against him? Will we have a new champion tonight?! --------------------- William Regal v Chris Harris Both men have been struggling for wins lately, so tonight could signal the start of one of these men climbing the ranks on Raw. Regal uses his stiff offense to gain the advantage early, hitting hard uppercuts and vicious knees to the side of the head. Harris manages to fight back though, and he wows the audience with a long delayed vertical suplex. Harris goes for a cover, but he only manages a 2 count. Harris looks in control, but after he sends Regal off the ropes, the Englishman strikes back with a knee to the midsection. Harris goes down, and Regal moves quickly to apply pressure with the Regal stretch. Regal pulls back with all he has, as Harris cries out in pain. The crowd encourages Harris to make it to the ropes, and eventually he does, but Regal holds on for as long as possible, breaking only to save himself from a disqualification. Harris is clearly hurt, but he manages to score with a few good right hands. The match swings back and forth, and Harris thinks he may have it won when he plants Regal with a spinning spinebuster. Harris hooks the leg, 1... 2... Regal barely gets the shoulder up. Harris again attacks, trying to put Regal away. He gets Regal back on his feet, looking for the catatonic... but Regal fights out of it, and he nails Harris with the Regal cutter! Regal hooks the leg, 1... 2... 3. William Regal picks up a rare win, as he looked strong in this match. I’d never have said that. Teddy: Well Carlito wanted an answer and I just tried to do what you would do. Shane: Well in future, you tell me about it, then I will make the decision, you understand? Teddy: I hear you playa... Shane: Yeah you better hear me. Teddy: Now uh... Shane... about Unforgiven. Shane: What about it? Teddy: Well I spent a lot of time on Smackdown with Batista. I’m not sure you know what you’re getting yourself into here. Shane: Listen Teddy, I am going to put Batista in his place. You remember this, this is my show... and no matter what people like you, or Batista want to try... it’s always going to be my show. ------------------- Candice Michelle v Victoria During this match, JR announces the fact that next week we will see Melina defend the Women’s Championship against Candice Michelle. With the champion looking on from the top of the ramp, Candice is determined to put on a strong performance tonight. Candice comes out trying to show aggression right from the bell, taking Victoria down by the hair and then hitting a low dropkick. Candice goes for an early cover with a roll up, but after Victoria kicks out at 2, she nails Candice with a clothesline. Victoria then slams Candice face first off the mat several times, before applying a leg scissors. Victoria pulls back on Candice’s hair to apply even more pressure, and Melina watches on with a huge smile on her face. Candice manage to break the hold with elbows to the face, before she hits a series of right hands and kicks to the midsection. Victoria sends Candice off the ropes, but Candice hits a great headscissor takedown, getting a 2 count. With both women back up, Victoria catches Candice with a hard elbow, and she sets her up for the spider’s web... but Candice counters, ducks a right hand, comes off the ropes... spinning heel kick! Candice connects, goes for the cover, 1... 2... 3! Candice picks up a big win ahead of her title match next week, and she motions to Melina at the top of the ramp that she is going to take the title next week. And Batista, last week you laid down the challenge to Shane McMahon for a match at Unforgiven... and earlier tonight, we heard Shane McMahon’s answer for you. It will be you against Shane and Mr Kennedy in a handicap match. Batista, what are your thoughts on this match? Batista: Well first of all if anyone thinks this is just going to be me against Shane and Kennedy, then they better think again. I know that the Bulldogs are going to be involved in it somehow, I’m not stupid. But Shane... I want you to understand this. You can bring as many members of your little group as you want... it doesn’t matter. I will run through everybody you put in my way. I’m coming after you Shane... and when I get my hands on you... it’s going to take more than Revolution to save your ass! -------------------- Rory McAllister v Finlay A rare appearance on Raw for the Highlanders, as Rory is accompanied to the ring by Robbie. Finlay is as always accompanied by Hornswoggle, but all JR and King can discuss is the origin and meaning of the videos that have been plaguing Finlay for weeks now. The match starts with a tie up, and Finlay is able to drive Rory to the corner. As the referee asks for the break, Rory hits Finlay with a cheap shot. This only makes the Irishman mad, and he rocks Rory with a number of right hands. Rory finally manages to escape the corner, only for Finlay to scoop him up and slam him, following it up with a legdrop. Finlay goes for a quick cover, but Rory gets the shoulder up at 2. Finlay looks to stay on the attack, but when he comes off the ropes, Robbie grabs his foot. This prompts Hornswoggle to come flying off the ring steps, and he takes Robbie down and strikes with right hands. However, Rory takes the advantage of the distraction, nailing Finlay with a clothesline. Robbie and Hornswoggle continue to battle on the floor, and as the little guy prepares to launch another aerial attack off the apron, Rory grabs hold of him. Hornswoggle tries to fight free, but it takes Finlay nailing Rory from behind with the shillelagh to make him let go. Hornswoggle nails Robbie with a dropkick, while Finlay has Rory up on his shoulders... Celtic cross! Finlay makes the cover, 1... 2... 3! Finlay beat Rory McAllister (C+) As you could have guessed, the arena turns green as the sound of a Celtic tune is heard. King: The ghost of your former self? Does that mean Finlay’s former self? JR: I have no idea King. I’m not sure if anybody knows what these videos mean. King: JR... we still don’t know who or what the Irish Curse is. Cena: Ideas about you using that briefcase on me. I’m going out there to win the title tonight, and I don’t want you taking it away from me as soon as I get it. Hardy: Wow. That’s pretty cold Cena. Cena: I know. So... we got a deal? If I win the title tonight then you won’t use that briefcase on me? Hardy: Well I tell you what. Remember last week when you said if I won the title I’d give you the first shot at it? Cena: Yeah. Hardy: You make me the same deal and I won’t make an appearance after your match tonight. Cena: I think I can agree to that. Hardy: Well... Holly has always been a tough as nails wrestler, and his reputation for schooling youngsters in the ring is well known. Dykstra and Holly go nose to nose in the middle of the ring, and Dykstra gets things going with a slap to the face. This prompts Holly to floor Dykstra with a hard right hand, before he delivers stiff uppercuts and boots to the gut. Holly then walks Kenny to the corner, where he unloads with chops across the chest. A hard Irish whip sends Kenny to the opposite corner, but as Holly charges in, Kenny gets a boot up. Dykstra quickly goes to the top rope, and he nails Holly with a great dropkick. Dykstra then shows his vicious side, raining down on Holly with rights and lefts. Holly manages to reverses and Irish whip, but when Kenny ducks a clothesline, he drops Holly with a neckbreaker. Kenny now goes to the top rope... top rope legdrop! Kenny connects, makes the cover, 1... 2... 3. Kenny Dykstra picks up his first win on Raw in impressive fashion, but clearly one man was not all that impressed... Kenny Dykstra beat Hardcore Holly (B-) JR: Well... Hardcore Holly was no match for Kenny Dykstra tonight. King: Yeah and it seems Kenny has learned a lot since he joined up with... GONG JR: Wait a minute... King: What happened to the lights? GONG King: Do you hear that JR? JR: Sounds like thunder to me. King: Where’s it coming from? JR: Well I... GONG JR: Well the lights have come back on... King: Look at Kenny. He looks like he’s seen a ghost! JR: The Undertaker is playing mind games with young Kenny Dykstra. Y2J... Chris Jericho! And Chris, last week we thought you’d won the right to face Triple H at Unforgiven, but now it looks like you’ll face the winner of tonight’s match. How do you feel about the fact it could wind up you one on one with John Cena? Jericho: Honestly, it doesn’t matter to me who I face. If it happens to be John Cena, then so be it. Cena... if you win that title, you better be ready for me at Unforgiven. I want to get my hands on Triple H... but if I have to settle for you, then I’ll just have to take out my aggression on you. I don’t care if it’s Cena, or Triple H... but at Unforgiven... I will get my title back. ----------------------- Cody Rhodes v Apolo It’s obvious from the get go that Cody is never going to match Apolo in the power stakes, so Cody tries to avoid Apolo as long as possible. However, when Primo jumps up on to the apron, Cody is distracted, and Apolo nails him from behind with a hard knee to the spine. Cody shows some aggression by hitting Apolo with a couple of forearms, and then locking in a headlock. Apolo sends Cody off the ropes, and he drives Cody to the mat with a shoulder block. Cody tries to regroup in the corner, but Apolo stays on the attack with hard right hands. Apolo then takes Cody down with a chinlock, and with Carlito loving every minute of it at ringside, he squeezes hard on Cody’s neck. Cody struggles back to his feet, but after hitting a pair of elbows to the gut, Apolo drops him with one hard shot across the back. Apolo continues to work on the back, driving the knee into the spine and then locking on a full nelson. After violently shaking Cody from side to side, Apolo takes him down with a full nelson slam. Cody looks down and out, and Apolo goes for the pin... 1... 2... Cody kicks out! Carlito has decided he’s seen enough, and he calls for Apolo to end it. Apolo drags Cody to his feet, and he sets him up for his finisher, a version of a side slam. As Apolo lifts Cody up, it doesn’t look good... until Cody manages to counter down the back and roll Apolo up... 1... 2... 3! Cody Rhodes picks up another win against the Cartel! Cody Rhodes beat Apolo (C+) JR: Oh! Oh... c’mon now. Carlito and Primo attacking Cody after the bell. King: Cody Rhodes just came through a tough match against Apolo, and now Carlito is taking advantage of it. JR: And Apolo... he’s got Cody on his feet... oh! A shot with the Intercontinental Title! Carlito has just laid out Cody Rhodes. King: Well when these two meet at Unforgiven, you have to believe that having Apolo and Primo out there can only make things worse for Cody. --------------------- The WWE Champion is making his way towards the ring, when he runs into... Triple H: Wait, wait... let me guess. The Game, out to prove he is a true champion, while Cena is out to prove he should still be the champion. Unlike previous encounters between these two, the fans are fully behind Cena in this match, with the recent actions of the Game no doubt playing it’s part in that. Straight from the first tie up, Triple H targets Cena’s shoulder, a sound strategy from the cerebral assassin as JR points out Cena’s previous pectoral surgery. Cena locks in the first headlock, only for Triple H to reverse it to a wristlock. The early goings are dominated by technical wrestling, with Trips locking in a hammerlock only for Cena to counter with a drop toe hold. Eventually the Game has had enough, and the match becomes more of a brawl, with Triple H nailing Cena with a hard right hand. Cena fires back with a series of rights of his own, before sending the Game to the corner with a hard Irish whip and then a huge back body drop. Cena goes for a cover, but it’s going to take more than that to put away the Game. The battle rages on, with Cena coming close with a fisherman suplex and a flying shoulder block, only for the Game to hit back with a high knee to the face and a spinebuster. Eventually the battle spills out on to the floor, where Cena blasts Triple H’s face off the announce table and the Game sends Cena shoulder first into the steel steps. Back in the ring, Cena sends Triple H off the ropes, but he ducks his head and the Game hits the facebuster and follows it up with a clothesline. The Game decides he wants to end things, so he waits for Cena to get back to his feet. As Cena staggers he turns around... pedigree... no! Cena grabbed the leg, and now... JR: STFU! STFU! Cena’s got it locked in! King: We’re going to have a new champion! JR: Triple H, straining, clawing, trying desperately to reach the ropes. Cena and Orton are going to meet again I’m sure. King: You think Randy Orton couldn’t stand to lose to Cena at Summerslam and that’s why he’s done this? JR: I think that’s exactly it. Hello everyone, I’m Joey Styles, my colleague is former ECW Champion Tazz, we are in Milwaukee, WI on a night when a lot of answers are needed. Tazz: Well first of all we’ve got to find out why Elijah Burke turned his back on Shelton Benjamin last week. These two guys were buddies for so long, and Burke just ended it. Styles: Also we wait to find out just who will face Umaga at Unforgiven for the ECW Championship... and here comes the one man who can tell us. ECW general manager, Mick Foley! Tazz: Well Mick Foley ran through a list of guys last week who are dying to get their hands on Umaga, let’s find out who it’s going to be. Foley: First of all, let me just say how great it is to be here, in Milwaukee, WI! Right now, I just want to let everybody know just what the ECW Championship match at Unforgiven is going to look like. You see, last week I gave Armando Estrada a whole list of competitors who I felt would be worthy of a ECW Title match. Now, two weeks ago, Tommy Dreamer had his shot, and last week Shelton Benjamin had his shot. So... for Unforgiven... I have to make a decision. I have to decide between two men who both deserve their shot. I have to decide between Kurt Angle... and John Morrison. Well... I thought I would have to decided. But then I figured... I’d just let the two of them work it out for themselves. So tonight, it’s going to Kurt Angle... one on one with John Morrison... in a number one contenders match, with the winner facing Umaga at Unforgiven! Tazz: Whoa! That’s happening tonight? That’s a huge match! Styles: What a main event we are going to have! Angle and Morrison for the right to face Umaga at Unforgiven! Foley: Thank you very much... and have a nice day! ---------------------- Balls Mahoney v Kevin Thorn After attacking Kane last week, Thorn is in no mood to mess around this week, as he attacks Balls before the bell even has a chance to ring. Thorn drives Mahoney to the corner, where he unloads with right hands, boots and elbows. An Irish whip sends Balls off the ropes, and Thorn nails him with a big boot. Thorn is dominant in the early going, and he tosses Balls through the ropes to the floor with ease. Thorn tries to slam Balls face first off the steel steps, but Balls blocks it... and then bounces Thorn’s face off them. Back in the ring, Balls takes Thorn to the corner, and he looks to climb the second rope and deliver a bunch of right hands. Thorn manages to counter, dropping Balls face first off the top turnbuckle, before applying the boots. Thorn charges Balls in the corner, only for him to go face first into the turnbuckle. As he turns around, Mahoney starts teeing off with right hands... Balls... Balls... Balls... whoa... Balls! Thorn bounces off the ropes, right into the ballbreaker! Mahoney goes for the cover, 1... 2... Thorn kicks out! Balls almost had it won, but if that didn’t do it this will. Balls climbs to the top rope, looking for a huge legdrop... but Thorn shakes the ropes, causing Balls to have an uncomfortable landing. Thorn moves quickly, turning Balls around and getting underneath him... crucifix powerbomb! Thorn drives Mahoney to the mat, hooks the leg, 1... 2... 3. Kevin Thorn beat Balls Mahoney (B-) Styles: Well Kevin Thorn, victorious over Balls Mahoney tonight. Tazz: Well Balls gave a great effort, but Thorn was just... Styles: Oh! Tazz: What the hell... Styles: It’s Kane! Kane is coming down the ramp and he’s headed straight for Kevin Thorn! Tazz: Last week Kevin Thorn attacked Kane... I guess this is payback! Styles: Kane... stepping over the top rope... Tazz: Here we go! Styles: Oh! Thorn runs right into a boot! And Kane now... he has Thorn by the throat... Tazz: Chokeslam! Styles: Kane drives Thorn to the mat! Tazz: Well I guess last week Kevin Thorn sent Kane a message... and this is Kane’s response. Styles: I don’t know how smart an idea it was for Kevin Thorn to pick a fight with the big red machine. --------------------- Backstage, Anastacia Rose is ready with a question everyone in ECW is dying to find out the answer to... Rose: Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome my guest at this time... Elijah Burke. And Elijah, everyone wants to know... why did you turn you back on Shelton Benjamin last week? I mean you guys were friends for so long that... Burke: Wait a second. What do you mean we were friends? You thought we were friends? Yeah... so did I. But I realised something. I brought Shelton Benjamin to ECW. And all this time, he’s been holding me down. Every time, it was me helping him. I saved your ass so many times Shelton. And when you lost the title... I thought you might start helping me. But no... it was the same old story. Well I’m sick of you holding me down Shelton. I’m going after the ECW Championship, and I’m going to get it without your help. Then I’ll prove to everybody... that between the two of us, I was always better than you. -------------------- Colt Cabana v Chuck Palumbo It’s Cabanarama time once again as Colt Cabana looks to keep his winning streak going, this time against Smackdown’s Chuck Palumbo. Chuck rolls into the ring looking to intimidate Colt, but Cabana’s unusual style seems to have the big guy off balance. Palumbo tries to attack with right hands and kicks, but colt manages to avoid the contact, before jumping on Palumbo’s back and locking on a sleeper. Palumbo breaks the hold by falling backwards in a corner, and he finally manages to land some of the big right hands he’s been swinging. An Irish whip sends Colt across, but Palumbo runs into a back elbow. Colt goes to the second rope, but before he can attack, Palumbo sends him to the floor with a big boot. Back in the ring, Palumbo gets a 2 count after a pumphandle slam, and then he delivers several stiff kicks to the spine. Palumbo looks to score the big power move that will end it, and he scoops Colt up and sets him up for the full throttle. As Palumbo twists Colt around, Cabana manages to counter the move, taking Chuck down with the roll-up... 1... 2... 3! Another upset win for Colt Cabana! Foley: Hey Kurt, come on in. Grab a seat... Angle: Me and Morrison? I should be the number one contender. Morrison had his chance at Summerslam. Foley: Well Kurt... if you want to be number one contender, you know what you have to do. Go out and beat John Morrison. Angle: Oh don’t worry, I’ll beat Morrison. But we both know that I deserve my shot at Umaga. Foley: Well Kurt... you’re right. You probably do. But in my ECW... you’re going to have to earn that shot. Angle: Oh I’ll earn it alright. It’s true... it’s damn true. The match starts with Burke putting Tommy in a headlock, but Dreamer quickly fights out of it with right hands and knees. Tommy then aims kicks at the thighs of Elijah, before clotheslining him over the top rope. Tommy looks to take the fight to Burke on the outside, but Elijah manages to slam Tommy off the apron to the floor. Dreamer cries out in pain, and Elijah gets Dreamer back in the ring and attacks the lower back, using the ropes to push himself up and drop the knee across it. Dreamer is down in the corner, and Elijah lines him up before charging in, pushing himself up off the ropes and dropping the elbow right on the back. Tommy manages to drag himself back to his feet, just in time for Elijah to go for the Elijah express... but he misses! Burke goes crashing into the turnbuckle, and now Dreamer attacks, hitting rights and lefts to sends Burke down. Burke is then catapulted into the corner, and Dreamer lines him up... DDT... no! Burke counters and sends Tommy crashing into the corner. Elijah wastes no time, heading for the opposite corner and lining Tommy up... Elijah express! Burke makes no mistake this time, and he goes for the cover, 1... 2... 3. Elijah Burke beat Tommy Dreamer (B) Styles: Elijah Burke picking up the win, and he really hit Tommy Dreamer hard tonight. Tazz: That was pretty brutal. Tuesday night delight... John Morrison! John, tonight you take on Kurt Angle for the chance to face Umaga at Unforgiven for the ECW Championship. John, do you think you can get past Kurt and go on to face Umaga? Morrison: You know... Kurt Angle is a hell of a wrestler. He’s an Olympic Champion... a former WWE Champion... he’s done a lot. But in the palace of wisdom... we don’t care much for gold medals. We crave championships... and that’s exactly what I’ve got in my sights. Tonight... I take the next step towards my showdown with Umaga... and the ECW Championship. --------------------- Number One Contenders Match John Morrison v Kurt Angle Both men approach this match determined to make their mark and go on to Unforgiven to face Umaga for the gold. The match starts fast paced, with both men coming off the ropes and attacking each other. Morrison takes Angle down with a shoulder block, but when he again comes off the ropes, Angle catches him in a great belly to belly overhead suplex. Angle continues to show off his technical skills, hitting Morrison with a release German suplex that sees Morrison almost land on his head. Angle then locks in a headlock on the mat, and as he applies pressure, the crowd tires to get behind Morrison. Morrison makes it back to his feet, and he sends Angle off the ropes before nailing him with a spinning heel kick. Both men are down, and as the referee starts to count, a commotion can be heard from the crowd. The reason why is currently making his way down the ramp... Styles: Well... the match continues... Angle and Morrison make it back to their feet, and pretty soon they both realise that Umaga is standing at the bottom of the ramp. Morrison comes off the ropes, but Angle takes him down with a knee to the gut, and this time he locks on a chinlock. Again Morrison manages to fight out of it, and he rocks Angle with elbows and right hands. Morrison sends Angle off the ropes... ducks a right hand... Angle catches his foot... enziguri! Morrison’s kick finds the mark, he hooks the leg, 1... 2... Angle gets the shoulder up! Angle is still feeling the effects of the kick, when Morrison catches him with a Russian leg sweep. Morrison bounces off the ropes... split legged corkscrew moonsault! Another cover, 1... 2... again Angle kicks out! The battle rages on, with Morrison kicking Angle in the midsection... he comes off the ropes... Moonlight drive... no! Angle counters... Angle slam... no! Morrison counters that... neckbreaker! Morrison connects, goes for the cover... 1... 2... no! Styles and Tazz can’t believe it, and they question just what it is going to take to put Kurt Angle away. Morrison drags Kurt back to his feet... maybe this will do it... another kick to the gut... wait... Angle has the foot... Styles: Ankle lock! Ankle lock! Angle has it locked in! Tazz: Morrison’s trying to make it to the ropes... Styles: Morrison... oh! Great move by Morrison, he managed to send Angle through the ropes, breaking the hold. Tazz: Great leg strength by Morrison, and Kurt Angle landed right infront of Umaga... Styles: Hey! Angle and Umaga trading right hands! Angle and Umaga are brawling on the outside. Tazz: What the hell! What about the match? Styles: I dunno, I mean... Tazz: Wait... here comes Morrison... Styles: Morrison... suicide dive! Morrison takes out both Angle and Umaga! Tazz: And now we got 3 guys going at it out here! Styles: The referee has lost all control... John Morrison and Kurt Angle ended in a no contest (A) Styles: All hell has broken loose here! Tazz: Umaga... Morrison... Angle... all three of the guys are killing each other! Styles: But who is going to Unforigven? The referee just called for the bell, and we don’t have a number one contender. Tazz: God I... I don’t know. Styles: Folks... we’re being told we’re out of time. The war continues, join us next week, when hopefully we’ll find out just who is going to face Umaga at Unforgiven. We are sold out in Milwaukee, WI, as the march towards Unforgiven continues. Hello everyone, I’m Michael Cole, alongside Jonathan Coachman, and Coach, the tension between the champion and the number one contender continued to simmer last week. Coach: Well last week, MVP lead Rey Mysterio to victory in the tag team match last week... Cole: What?! Coach: MVP got the pin, that’s all that matters. Tonight, I look for MVP to once again show Rey Mysterio exactly how good a champion he is. Cole: Well we obviously were watching a different main event last week, but tonight... BOOYAKA BOOYAKA Cole: Well here comes Rey Mysterio now. Mysterio will face MVP in just over one weeks time at Unforgiven for the World Heavyweight Championship. Coach: And I am saying it right now, there is no way Rey Mysterio will win the World Heavyweight Championship. No way. Cole: Well I’m sure plenty of people would disagree with you Coach. Mysterio: You know... I’ve waited a long time for a chance to get back the World Heavyweight Championship. It was over 2 years ago that I lost the championship. I sure you all remember what happened. Chavo came out and cost me the title. But you know... I was in a bad way back then. Now... I’ve got Chavo and Vickie behind me. Now... I’m ready to be a champion again. MVP... I’m going into Unforgiven... 1... 2... YOU HEAR THE CLOCK TICKIN’ Cole: Well here comes the champion now. MVP making his way to the ring, obviously has something to say to Rey Mysterio. Coach: I still think it’s only a matter of time until Chavo Guerrero nails Rey with a chair. Just wait and see. MVP: You’re ready to be a champion again? You honestly think you can beat me? You haven’t got a chance against me. I’m on my way to being the greatest champion in Smackdown history. And I’m not going to let someone like you stop me from doing that. Mysterio: Someone like me? MVP: Yeah. Mysterio: What do you mean by that? MVP: I mean someone who plays up to these people. I remember your last title reign. You did what these people wanted, you were the fan friendly champion. But guys like me... I don’t care what these people think. I don’t care what anybody thinks. That’s why I’m the champion. I don’t care what anybody... NO CHANCE Cole: Now here comes Mr McMahon. The chairman of the board is on his way out here. Vince: I’ll keep this short. Tonight, I have decided that I want to see both the current number one contender... Rey Mysterio... and the two men who will fight for the chance to become the number one contender... Bobby Lashley and Big Show... in action tonight. You MVP...as World Heavyweight Champion... you have the night off. So tonight... it’s going to be Bobby Lashley... one on one with a man who I know is desperate to get back into the title picture... CM Punk. As for you Rey... tonight, you will take on... the Big Show! Thank you very much... and enjoy the show. Cole: Wow. Mr McMahon has just made two great matches tonight. Lashley and Punk and Big Show and Mysterio. Coach: And I applaud Mr McMahon’s decision to give MVP the night off. Cole: Why doesn’t that surprise me? -------------------- Paul London and Brian Kendrick v Chase Stevens and Andy Douglas It’s been a while since we saw Kendrick and London team up on Smackdown, and the longest reigning tag team champions in Smackdown history reunite against newcomers Stevens and Douglas. Early on, London and Kendrick show some rustiness as a team, when London is distracted by Douglas on the apron and Stevens hits London from behind. Quick tags follow, as Douglas comes in with hard shots to the ribs. An Irish whip sends London off the ropes, but when Douglas back body drops him, London lands on his feet and tags in Kendrick. Kendrick and London show the old magic, taking Douglas down with a double clothesline and dropkicking Stevens to the floor. Both men try to regroup, but London and Kendrick come off the ropes... double summersault plancha! Back in the ring, Kendrick attacks Douglas, but a cheap shot from Stevens hands the advantage back. More quick tags from Douglas and Stevens, with Kendrick taking a lot of punishment. Stevens does his ebst to keep Kendrick from making the tag, but when he locks on a front headlock, Kendrick counters with a jawbreaker. Kendrick dives for the corner... and makes the tag. London comes into the ring, taking down both Douglas and Stevens. Kendrick is back up, and he takes out Douglas with a clothesline over the top. London attacks Stevens, catching him with an enziguri. Stevens staggers, and Kendrick runs him to the corner... sliced bread! Kendrick hooks the leg, 1... 2... 3! Kendrick and London win on their reunion match, and it may not be long until we see them chasing tag team gold again. CM Punk! Punk, tonight Vince McMahon has decided to put you in a match with Bobby Lashley. Now Punk, two weeks ago you told Mr McMahon you would be back in the title hunt, and Mr McMahon has said tonight is your chance. Do you think you can beat Bobby Lashley tonight? Punk: If beating Bobby Lashley is what it’s going to take for Vince McMahon to give me another title shot... then that’s what I’m going to do. I was robbed at Summerslam... and I may not be getting a shot at Unforgiven... but I will get my shot again. And I will win the World Heavyweight Championship... I guarantee it. ---------------------- United States Championship Tournament Semi Final Matt Hardy v Santino Marella The chase to become the next United States Champion continues tonight as Matt Hardy and Santino Marella square off in semi final action. As soon as the bell rings, Matt gains the advantage, getting Santino in a headlock and then coming off the ropes and knocking him down with a shoulder block. A spell of chain wrestling is seen, as Hardy again locks on the headlock and takes Santino down, only for Santino to roll Matt over and get a 2 count with the shoulders down. A stiff right hand knocks Santino through the ropes, where the Italian tries to regroup. Matt quickly comes out and throws Santino back in, only for Santino to call for a timeout. As Matt walks over to him, a drop toe hold sends Hardy face first into the middle turnbuckle. Santino now attacks with boots and right hands, before he locks on a armbar. Hardy fights back to his feet, only for Santino to drop him with a neckbreaker and get another 2 count. Santino then shows a new aggression, sending Matt shoulder first into the ring post. As Santino looks to build on that with another armbar, Matt counters with a neckbreaker. Hardy quickly climbs to the second rope... legdrop! Matt hooks the leg, 1... 2... no! Santino kicks out, but Matt isn’t fnished. Santino is back up... side effect... no... Santino fights out of t with elbows. Hardy off the ropes... ducks a clothesline... twist of fate! Hardy connects, goes for the cover, 1... 2... 3! Matt Hardy beats Santino Marella, and he will be in the final at Unforgiven. Before the match starts, Michael Cole announces that next week Hawkins and Ryder will defend the titles against Wang Yang and Moore, so this match serves as a preview of that. That match starts fast paced, as Hawkins sends Jimmy off the ropes, with Hawkins executing a great leapfrog, only for Jimmy to come back with a baseball slide, and then a hurricanrana. A clothesline sends Hawkins over the top right infront of Ryder, and the champions use this time to regroup. Jimmy doesn’t give them a chance to rest though, as he goes to the top rope and hits a moonsault that takes out both men. Back in the ring, Jimmy throws several forearms at Curt, but when he sends him off the ropes, Jimmy goes for a leapfrog... only for Hawkins to catch him and nail a spinning spinebuster. Hawkins now tries to take away some of Jimmy’s speed by focusing on his leg, hitting kicks and then a leglock. Wang Yang fights back to his feet, but Hawkins still has his leg... until Jimmy hits an enziguri. Hawkins backs off to the corner, but Jimmy keeps the pressure on with a monkey flip, and then he goes to the top for the moonsault... but Hawkins shakes the ropes, giving Jimmy an awkward landing. Hawkins goes to the top rope... crossbody... no! Jimmy dodged it, and now he goes up top... moonsault! Jimmy has the cover, 1... 2... 3! Jimmy Wang Yang gets the win, and he gives himself and Shannon Moore a huge boost ahead of the match next week. Jimmy Wang Yang beat Curt Hawkins (B) --------------------- Cole: Welcome back to Smackdown folks. At this time we had hoped to bring you an update on the condition of John Bradshaw Layfield, but we still have had very little contact with JBL. Coach: What we understand is that JBL is recuperating in his home in New York, he’s taking care of his financial investments, but we don’t know when JBL will be back in the ring. Cole: One thing we do know is that next week, when Smackdown comes to you from Nashville, TN, JBL will be there. We obviously will look to get an interview on JBL and try get some words on when JBL will be back in the ring. --------------------- United States Championship Tournament Semi Final Chavo Guerrero v Paul Burchill With Matt Hardy already qualified for the final at Unforgiven, both these men come out determined for victory tonight. Chavo is once again accompanied by Vickie, fully recovered from the trauma caused by Edge all those months ago. Burchill has been the surprise package of this tournament so far, and he goes straight on the attack when the bell rings. As both men tie up, Burchill uses his size advantage to drive Chavo into the corner, and hit a couple of knees to the gut. As Chavo recovers, Burchill charges at him... only for Chavo to elevate him over the top rope to the floor. Enraged, Burchill charges back into the ring... only for the wily veteran Chavo to hit a drop toe hold. Burchill slams his fist in anger, and this time when he attacks, he connects with a boot to the gut. Burchill then hits a series of power moves, hitting a backbreaker, suplex then a powerslam for a 2 count. Burchill looks ready to dominate the match, but when he goes for a jumping neckbreaker... Chavo holds on to the top rope. Burchill crashes off the mat, and Chavo hits him with a headscissor takedown. Chavo quickly goes to the top rope, with Burchill in perfect position... frog splash... no! Burchill pushed the referee into the top rope, and Chavo is caught on the turnbuckle. Burchill now gets back up, grabs hold of Chavo... and lifts him into position for Burchill’s new torture rack submission finisher. Burchill wrenches back, and Chavo screams in pain... and eventually he has to submit. Paul Burchill causes another upset as he advances to the final at Unforigiven. I want to thank you for giving me the night off. I really appreciate it. Vince: Well you know MVP, I understand the value of a champion. I mean, you need a break every now and then. After all, you are the highest priced member of the Smackdown roster. We don’t want you getting any unnecessary injuries. MVP: No we don’t. Vince: So why not let the other three men who want your title have a match tonight? I mean, the champion should have the advantage. MVP: You know... if Teddy Long had the same attitude, I would never have had a problem with him. Vince: Well good. I’m glad. So... why don’t we sit down and watch the rest of the show? MVP: Absolutely. ------------------------ CM Punk v Bobby Lashley An interesting match in which two former ECW Champions square off. Lashley is looking to build momentum ahead of his Unforgiven showdown with the Big Show, while Punk is looking to put himself back in the title hunt. As the bell rings, Lashley goes straight for a takedown, driving Punk to the mat. Punk tires to grab hold of Lashley’s arm, and as both men fight for position, Lashley shows his power and scoops Punk up and drops him with a spinebuster. Lashley continues to show his power, sending Punk to the corner and then charging in with a shoulder block. Lashley takes Punk out of the corner and hoists him up for a vertical suplex... but Punk counters with a roll up... 1... 2... Lashley kicks out. Punk stays on the attack, nailing Lashley with a great enziguri. The match swings back and forth, with Punk hitting a diving clothesline and Lashley hitting a release overhead belly to belly suplex. Lashley tries an Irish whip to the corner, but Punk reverses... and he follows in with the knee to the face... and then a bulldog. Punk goes for a cover, 1... 2... Lashley kicks out. Punk looks to continue to put on the pressure, waiting for Lashley to get on his feet... Punk has him on his shoulders for the GTS... but Lashley breaks free and sends Punk off the ropes... Lashley ahs Punk on his shoulders... dominator! Lashley hits the dominator, hooks the leg, 1... 2... 3! Bobby Lashley scores a big win, while Punk looks like he has lost his chance at being involved in the title hunt at Unforgiven. Rey Mysterio! And Rey, tonight you take on the Big Show one on one. Aren’t you worried that this match could affect you once you get to Unforgiven? Mysterio: I don’t know what Vince McMahon is trying to do by putting me in this match, but I’ve overcome bigger obstacles than the Big Show in the past... and I’ll do it again tonight. If Vince and MVP think this match will soften me up so MVP has it easy at Unforgiven... then they’re wrong. I’ll win tonight... then I’ll win at Unforgiven. --------------------- Rey Mysterio v Big Show As we heard at the top of the show, this match was Vince McMahon’s creation, as he forces the number one contender into a match with the Big Show. From the very start, Big Show tries to corner Rey, looking to grab a hold of him to limit Rey’s offense. Rey looks to hit and run, delivering kicks to the Big Show’s legs and then ducking into another corner. Show’s frustrations start to build, and eventually he catches Rey by the throat and tosses him across the ring. Having seen Bobby Lashley win earlier in the night, Show knows he needs to send a message tonight, so he starts crashing down on Rey’s chest with hard slaps. Show then looks to throw about some more, but Rey manages to hang Show up on the top rope. Rey tries to quicken the pace, hitting a springboard dropkick and then coming off the ropes... only to run into a big boot. Show goes for a cover, 1... 2... but Mysterio gets the shoulder up. Looking to impress everyone watching, Show then drags Rey to his feet and hoists him up... and drops him with a press slam. As it looks like Show is dominating, a commotion is heard from the crowd. The cameras quickly pan towards the entrance ramp... Cole: Well here comes the champion MVP. MVP given the night off by Mr McMahon, and now he’s coming out here for a close up view of this. Coach: Well there you see why MVP is such a great champion. He does his homework, he scouts his opposition, he... Cole: Will you just stop this? Big Show looks at MVP, with the champion fully aware that Show wants to get his hands on the champion. Although MVP is no doubt out to match Mysterio in action, it’s Big Show who is taking up most of his attention. Show and MVP start arguing at the bottom of the ramp, with the 7 footer seeing this as a chance to get in the champions face. As Big Show and MVP continue to argue, Mysterio is back on his feet. He comes off the ropes... 619! Big Show never saw it coming! The move only staggers the big guy, so Rey bounces to the top rope... droppin’ da dime! Mysterio makes the cover, as MVP can only look on in shock... 1... 2... 3! Rey Mysterio has beaten the Big Show with a huge unintentional assist from the man he will face at Unforgiven. I’m Jim Ross, alongside Jerry ‘The King’ Lawler, we are live and we are sold out in Memphis TN, King... we’re Lawler country tonight! King: Well I appreciate that, but what a night we have in store. So many questions to be answered after last week. JR: We hope to hear from John Cena on the actions of Randy Orton last week, we also hope to hear from... BREAK THE WALLS DOWN JR: Well I was going to say Chris Jericho, but I guess we’ll hear from him right now. King: Well this Sunday, Chris Jericho gets his rematch against Triple H. What a night Unforgiven is going to be. JR: I can’t wait for this Sunday. Hopefully we’ll see Chris Jericho get back the title that was stolen from him. Jericho: Last week I sat in the back and I listened to John Cena come out here and taunt his way to a WWE Championship match. Well tonight... I figured I’d try something similar. Triple H... for me, you are still nowhere near proving yourself as any kind of champion. As far as I’m concerned... your title reign is a fraud. You neede your little group to get the title off of me... and this Sunday at Unforgiven, I have no doubt you’ll use them to try and save the title. Unless... unless you’re willing to try and prove what kind of champion you are. Triple H, are you... Heroes by Motorhead plays out... Triple H: Wait a second... wait. You’re questioning what kind of champion I am? I’ll tell you exactly what kind of champion I am. I... am ruthless! I do whatever it takes it to win. I don’t care what these idiots in the crowd think. I don’t care what you think either. I am the champion, and that’s all that matters. Jericho: Is it Game? Or is it eating you up inside that you can’t do anything without you’re posse helping you? I have something in mind that could change all that. At Unforgiven... I challenge you to a cage match! King: Wow! A cage match? JR: What has Jericho got in mind y making this match? Triple H: A cage match? Why would I agree to that? Jericho: Because it would work for both of us. I would finally get a one on one match with you, without the boy scouts getting involved. And if you manage to beat me... you can bring a shred of credibility to this title reign of yours. Shane: Hold up. Game... I know you let John Cena talk you into this last week, but I can’t... Triple H: You got a deal Jericho! You and me in a cage match. But I promise, when I beat you at Unforgiven... and I will beat you... it is over between me and you. We are finished... and you will have played the game... and lost! King: JR can you believe this? The title match this Sunday is now a cage match! JR: Chris Jericho is going to play the game... and I think he’s going to win. ---------------------- Women’s Championship Match Melina (C) v Candice Michelle Candice has been after Melina for a while now, and the two finally meet for the Women’s Title tonight. Straight from the bell, Melina attacks Candice’s shoulder, looking to work on the injury Candice suffered all those months ago, taking Candice down with a hammerlock and then driving the knee into the shoulder. Candice tries several times to fight out of it, but Melina keeps the hold locked in before turning it in to an armbar. Eventually Melina breaks it by sending Candice shoulder first into the turnbuckle. Melina again attacks, but this time it’s Candice who gains the upperhand, taking the champion down with a headlock. A series of counter moves happen, with Melina reversing he headlock into a roll up, only for Candice to reverse into a backslide. Candice scores with a kick and then sends Melina down by the hair, before coming off the ropes with a low dropkick, gaining a 2 count. Candice is now in control, going to the top rope... and nailing a crossbody! 1... 2... no! Melina kicks out, but the title is in jeopardy. Candice looks to turn up the heat, coming off the ropes with a flying clothesline and then lining Melina up for the spinning heel kick... but Melina ducks. This is the opening the champion needs, as she nails the split legged neckbreaker. 1... 2... 3! Melina retians the title, but it was a great effort from Candice Michelle. Triple H: Hey... relax. I just thought I’d drop by after what happened last week. Orton: What are you here to thank me? Triple H: I’m not here to thank you... Orton: Good. I didn’t do it for you. I did it to get at Cena. Triple H: Alright. I’m cool with that. But you’ve just lost to Cena at Summerslam, and I don’t think you want to go picking a fight with him right now. Orton: Oh really? Triple H: Yeah. But... I got a little something in mind that could benefit both of us. Orton: What’s that? Triple H: Well... you were in Evolution... I got a spot waiting for you in Revolution if you want. Orton: Revolution? Listen Game... when we were in Evolution... I hated it! I hated having to do your dirty work, I hated having to listen to you and take orders from you. I was always going to be bigger than Evolution... and I’m damn sure bigger than this version you’ve got now. Triple H: Alright... fine. But don’t be surprised when John Cena kicks your ass and there’s no-one there to help you. Orton: Don’t worry... I’m ready for Cena. --------------------- Finlay v Deuce After arriving on Raw in the supplemental draft, Deuce, Domino and Cherry finally make their first appearance on the show. Unfortunately for Deuce, the recent plague of videos that have been haunting Finlay have left him in a four mood, and he looks determined to take it out on Deuce. Deuce looks to take the fight to Finlay early on, but it doesn’t last long, as Finlay gets him in the corner and pummels him with right hands. Finlay then takes Deuce down, and the right hands start raining down. Back on their feet, Finlay then starts hitting uppercuts, before sending Deuce to the corner with a Irish whip and following in with a shoulder to the gut. Finlay continues to attack, hitting shoulder blocks and clotheslines. On the outside, Hornswoggle starts taunting Cherry and Domino, which leads to Domino chasing him around the ring, before the little guy dives under the ring. Domino then gets in Finlay’s face, and this is enough for Deuce to finally get some offense in. Deuce goes to work with boots and elbows, before sending him off the ropes and hitting a jumping heel kick. As Cherry and Domino celebrate on the outside, Hornswoggle comes back out from under the ring, and he comes flying off the apron onto Domino. As the two battle on the floor, Deuce and the referee are now distracted. This is all Finlay needs, as he grabs his shillelagh... and nails Deuce with it. The referee never saw it, and Finlay goes for the cover... 1... 2... 3! Finlay grabs yet another win, but as recent weeks have shown, the night is not over for Finlay and Hornswoggle. Finlay beat Deuce (B+) As expected, the arena turns a misty green colour and the sound of uilleann pipes can be heard, as a message flashes up on the screen... King: Crimes? What crimes could Finaly have committed? JR: I don't know. But I shudder to think what's going to come at the end of these videos. King: This Irish Curse is freaking me out. JR: How do you think Finlay feels? ---------------------- Backstage, Maria is standing by... Maria: Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome my guest at this time... John Cena! And John, last week you had Triple H locked in the STFU and looked just moments away from winning the WWE Championship... and then Randy Orton kicked you in the head and cost you the title. John... how are you feeling right now? Cena: How am I feeling? I feel like once again Randy Orton has screwed me out of the WWE Title. Randy... I thought we had settled this thing at Summerslam... but I guess I was wrong. You want to keep this going, you want to get back at me for beating you? Alright... I can do that. But I guarantee you... I will strike back. I will find a time and a place... and I’m going to hurt you Randy. It’s going to be when you least expect it. It might be tonight... it might be tomorrow, it might be next week... it might be even be this Sunday at Unforgiven. But I promise you... I will get you. ----------------------- Hardcore Holly v William Regal These two have reputations as being hard as nails wrestlers, so predictably this was a very stiff match up. Straight from the bell Regal sets the tone for this match, slapping Holly hard across the face. This only angers Holly though, and he hits Regal with a bunch of boots to the gut and right hands to the face. Holly sends Regal off the ropes, but when Holly goes for a dropkick, Regal hangs on to the top rope and Holly crashes to the mat. Regal now goes on the attack with boots and right hands and then throwing him to the floor. Regal follows him out, and the brawl intensifies as Regal sends Holly shoulder first into the steel steps. Back in the ring, the match continues to be hard hitting, as Regal hits uppercuts and then drops Holly with the Regal roll, getting a two count. Holly battles back though, hitting an atomic drop and then slamming Regal to the mat. Holly continues to pound Regal, with rights and lefts and some vicious knees to the head. A jawbreaker stuns Regal, and as he staggers around, Holly lifts him up... Alabama slam... no! Regal down the back with a roll up... 1... Regal grabs the tights... 2... no! Holly kicks out and Regal can’t believe it. Regal was sure he had the match won, but he might do it with this. Regal back off into the corner, where he pulls out the brass knucks. Hiding them in his hands, Holly comes in to the corner... and Regal cracks him in the face. The ref never saw the knucks, and Holy is out cold... 1... 2... 3. Regal grabs the win, and the vicious streak he showed in this match could see him quickly moving up the card. Carlito’s Cabana! Tonight... no wait, Carlito needs an apple for this. Tonight on Carlito’s Cabana... the man who Carlito is going to beat this Sunday at Unforgiven... Cody... uh... what’s his name? Oh yeah... Cody Rhodes. JR: Well Carlito certainly not showing Cody Rhodes any respect, but Cody is a real threat to the title this Sunday. King: When has Carlito ever shown anybody any respect? JR: You make a good point... Carlito: OK... so... Cody Rhodes. Two weeks ago, you tired to embarrass Carlito. You beat Carlito’s baby brother Primo in his first match... that’s not cool. And you know what else isn’t cool? You! You’re not cool Cody! But I... Cody: Carlito... why don’t you shut up! I’m sick and tired of all this cool stuff. You want to know what isn’t cool? You and your stupid Cartel! I mean... you’ve got Apolo and Primo here. Two guys I just got finished beating. And you’re next Carlito! This Sunday, I don’t care if Apolo, or Primo, or... JR: Oh! Carlito just spat that apple right in Cody’s face. King: That is just disgusting. Carlito: Now that Cody... that’s cool. And this Sunday... it’s going to be cool too. JR: Well Cody Rhodes obviously outnumbered 3 to 1, he didn’t want to pick a fight tonight. King: Yeah but he sure as hell will bring the fight this Sunday. --------------------- Randy Orton v Lance Cade As Orton makes his way down to the ring, King and JR speculate as to when and where John Cena will strike for his revenge. Orton seems to be worried too, as he is constantly looking over his shoulder. Cade has Trevor Murdoch at ringside, and the fan favourite rednecks look to grab a huge win tonight. Cade attacks as soon as the bell rings, hitting right hands in the corner. The early flurry lead to Cade sending Orton off the ropes, but when the legend killer ducked a clothesline, Orton hits a great dropkick. Orton shows his ruthless side, choking Cade down on the mat and then pummelling him with right hands. Orton then looks to wear Cade down with a chinlock, while Murdoch tries to get the crowd behind Cade. Cade fights back to his feet, hitting elbows and right hands. Cade hits several clotheslines, before he lifts Orton up and places him on the top turnbuckle. Cade follows him up, and he and Orton battle for position on the top rope. Cade hits rights to the gut... and then takes Orton down with a suplex off the top! Cade crawls over for the cover... 1... 2... Orton kicks out! Cade can’t believe it, but he looks to finish Orton off. Cade waits for Orton to get on his feet, but when goes for the Cade-bomb, Orton counters... RKO! Orton hits the RKO, hooks the leg, 1... 2... 3! Randy Orton wins, but he immediately heads for the ramp, looking for John Cena and trying to ready himself for an attack... but it doesn’t come. Randy Orton beat Lance Cade (A*) JR: Well credit to Randy Orton, he came out and got the job done. King: Yeah but he looks like a nervous wreck. JR: I think that warning from John Cena has Orton worried. When is Cena going to strike? ------------------------ As we return from commercial, Randy Orton is walking back to the locker room after his match. He seems to be very agitated though, constantly looking over his shoulder. He walks past a few backstage workers... and then suddenly stops. He glances over his shoulder... but there’s nothing there. Kenny: Well last week The Undertaker did all those things with the lights and stuff and... I’m a little bit worried about this week. Shane: What you think Undertaker’s going to try something? Kenny: Yeah... Shane: Hang on, you’ve been asking for this match for a while now Kenny. And now that I give you the match, you’re scared? Kenny: Well no but... Shane: Listen. If it makes you feel better, take Harry and TJ out there with you. Last week mind games from The Undertaker clearly has Dykstra rattled though, and he can’t get anything going early on, as Harris takes Kenny down with a hiptoss and then drops the elbow. It takes TJ jumping up on the apron and getting in Harris’ face for Kenny to take control, catching Harris from behind with a knee to the spine. Dykstra then drives Harris to the corner, hitting rights to the midsection and elbows to the face. Harris grabs hold of Kenny and throws him to the corner, before hitting rights of his own. The referee calls for a break, and Kenny takes advantage by nailing a hard clothesline. After getting a 2 count, Dykstra then goes back to work on the back, locking in a camel clutch. Dykstra wrenches back, but eventually Harris fights back to his feet. Harris comes off the ropes, but Kenny hits a great standing dropkick. This is the opening Kenny needs, as he goes to the top rope... legdrop off the top! Kenny got all of it, and he goes for the cover, 1... 2... 3. Kenny picks up the win ahead of his huge match against The Undertaker. Kenny Dykstra beat Chris Harris (A) JR: Well another impressive win for young Kenny Dykstra. King: Yeah but we heard him earlier say he was scared of... GONG King: Oh not again... JR: The lights are out folks... GONG JR: And Kenny and the Bulldogs are alone in the ring. King: I don’t like the looks of this JR... GONG King: Thank God the lights are back. JR: Kenny Dykstra... I don’t think this young man knows what’s in store for him this Sunday at Unforgiven. The Undertaker is coming after Kenny... Batista: You know, tonight I’m going out to there to destroy Kennedy. And I hope Shane McMahon is watching... cause then you’ll find out exactly what’s coming to you this Sunday Shane! Jericho: I always said I would return to save the WWE. First I saved us all from Randy Orton... and tonight is the first step of me saving us from Revolution. Triple H... you stole that title form me, and I want it back. The Game and Kennedy enter the ring first, and as soon as Jericho and Batista hit the ring, they go straight for Revolution. A four man brawl quickly ensues, until Batista clotheslines Triple H over the top rope and then Kennedy is sent over the top too. As Revolution try to regroup, Jericho hits a plancha, taking out both men. The Game is thrown back into the ring, and the match officially starts with Batista taking the fight to Triple H. Batista pummels him with right hands, and then sends the Game off the ropes... spinebuster! Batista goes for the cover, 1... 2... Triple H kicks out, but the tone of the match has been set early. Jericho gets the tag, and he goes to work on Triple H’s shoulder. The Game hits a hard right hand to gain some separation, and he tags in Kennedy... who runs right into an armdrag. Kennedy fights back to his feet, and he drives Jericho into his corner, where the Game gets the tag. The Revolution guys then use quick tags to stay on top of Jericho and keep him trapped in their corner. They attack Jericho’s knee, with Kennedy hitting a chop block and then the Game locking on a figure four, drawing a chorus of boos from the fans. Jericho eventually makes the ropes, but he can’t make the tag, as the Game drags him back to his corner and Kennedy hits a legdrop across the knee. Again the quick tags follow, with Triple H and Kennedy continuing to work the knee and pummel Jericho. Kennedy sends Jericho off the ropes with an Irish whip... and then catches Jericho in a sleeper. Jericho quickly fades, and the referee starts raising his hand. It drops once... twice... but not a third time! Jericho fights back to his feet, trying to break the hold... and breaks it with a jawbreaker. Kennedy staggers over to tag in Triple H... and Jericho dives for the corner to tag in Batista! The Animal charges into the ring, hitting a right hand to the Game and a clothesline to Kennedy. Another clothesline gets rid of the Game, and Kennedy is dragged to his feet, sent off the ropes... spinebuster! The Animal shakes the ropes, and calls for the Batista-bomb. Kennedy goes up... and comes crashing down! Batista goes for the cover, 1... 2... Triple H makes the save! Triple H and Batista now go at it, until a clothesline from the Animal sends both men over the top. Jericho is now back up, and he waits for Kennedy to get back to his feet. As Kennedy turns around... JR: Walls of Jericho! Jericho has it locked in! King: I don’t think Kennedy can reach the ropes... JR: Kennedy... desperately trying to reach the ropes... King: I don’t think he’ll make it... JR: He’s tapping! He’s tapping! Kennedy taps out! Jericho and Batista win!
I second that. Everything was solid top to bottom. P.S. How's TNA doing?
Thanks man. TNA seem to be doing OK I guess. They're popularity is in the C+ to B- range, and they're at B for prestige. Ring of Honour have made great strides though. They're up to C+ across America and B+ for prestige. Christian Cage is the current TNA World Heavyweight Champion, having been so for about 4 months, having won the title as a heel from a face Samoa Joe, who won it from Kurt Angle before he joined me. Joey Matthews is the current X Division champ, with Jacqueline Moore being the Knockouts Champion. We are in September right now, which means their last ppv was Hard Justice, where Cage defended the title in the main event against Kaz (who has recieved quite the push lately), while the highlights of the undercard was Kevin Nash and Samoa Joe beating AJ Styles and Tomko for the TNA Tag Team Championships (oh the irony...) As I mentioned them earlier, I fill you in on Ring of Honour too. Davey Richards was the man to end Nigel McGuinesses run, while their tag titles are held by Kevin Steen and Claudio Castagnoli. Their last card was Glory by Honour, which saw Richards defend his title against Adam Pearce, McGuiness and Bryan Danielson in a four way, and Mike Quckenbush and Mark Briscoe steal the show. Hope that helps fill in the rest of my gameworld.

Hello everyone, I’m Joey Styles alongside Tazz, we’re in Nashville, TN tonight, and Tazz, we thought we would get the answers last week, but it didn’t quite work out like that. Tazz: Well the number one contenders match last week ended in a brawl between Umaga, John Morrison and Kurt Angle. We still don’t know who Umaga fill face. Styles: Well here comes ECW general manager Mick Foley right now. Hopefully we’ll get some answers tonight. Foley: First of all let me say it’s great to be here tonight in Nashville, TN! I kicked of last week’s show saying I couldn’t make my mind up whether to give the ECW Championship opportunity at Unforgiven to Kurt Angle or John Morrison. I had this great idea to let them fight each other and then declare the winner the number one contender. Well... it didn’t quite work out that way. So tonight... I’m out here to say... that I still can’t make my mind up. So what I’ve decided to do... is that this Sunday at Unforgiven... it’s going to be Umaga defending the ECW Championship... in a triple threat match against both John Morrison and Kurt Angle! Tazz: Man what a match! Styles: A huge announcement from Mick Foley! Foley: Thank you... and have a nice day! Styles: This Sunday at Unforgiven, a triple threat match for the ECW Championship! Tazz: Well Umaga won the triple threat match at Summerslam, I’m hoping Morrison or Angle can pull out the win this time. -------------------- Extreme Rules Match Kevin Thorn v Kane A feud that started over Thorn being beaten by Kane in the big red machines first outing on ECW has escalated into an extreme rules match to settle things. Much of the early going is confined to the ring, with neither man really gaining an advantage. Kane tries to attack by coming off the ropes, and while he ducks one clothesline, a second from Thorn sends Kane crashing down. Thorn quickly starts raining down with rights and boots, before he tosses Kane to the outside and goes under the ring in search of a weapon. Thorn finds a kendo stick, but when he pulls it out, Kane take it off him... and smashes it off Thorn’s head. Kane begins wearing the stick out on Thorn, but when he goes to hit Thorn face first off the steps, Thorn blocks it... and then Kane eats the steel. Again Thorn goes under the ring, bringing out a stop sign and a couple of trash cans. Thorn picks up the stop sign... down across Kane’s back! Thorn again goes under the ring, and this time he brings out chairs and a table. The fight returns to the ring, and Thorn props the table up in the corner. Kane is set up against the table, while Thorn lines him up in the other corner. Thorn charges in... splash through the table! Thorn drives Kane through the wood, hooks the leg, 1... 2... Kane kicks out! Thorn can’t believe it, but he again goes under the ring for yet another table. A shot or two with the trash can, and Thorn is primed to put Kane through another table. Thorn has Kane set up for the crucifix powerbomb... but Kane counters with a back body drop. Kane is clearly in pain, but he struggles back to his feet, just as Thorn gets back up... Kane has him by the throat... chokeslam through the table! Kane goes for the cover, 1... 2... 3! The big red machine finally makes his point to Kevin Thorn, and it’s been a very impressive first month on ECW for Kane. Kane beat Kevin Thorn (B-) --------------------- Backstage, Anastacia Rose is ready to talk to ECW’s undefeated superstar... Rose: Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome my guest at this time... Colt Cabana! And Colt, you’ve been on quite a roll since you arrived here on ECW. But tonight... you’ve got to take on the ECW Champion, the Samoan bulldozer... Umaga. Colt, you’re streak’s looking in trouble right now isn’t it? Colt: Uh... well yeah. I mean... he’s Umaga. He’s the ECW Champion. But I’m the hottest thing north of Havana right now! So tonight... I’ll go out there and give it my all. If it works, great, if not... Rose: The hottest thing north of Havana? Colt: Yeah. Hey... I meant to ask... where’s Unforgiven being held this year? Rose: Cleveland. Colt: So we’re not having a weekend in New England? Rose: Uh... no. Colt: Oh well... see you later. ---------------------- Tommy Dreamer v Matt Striker Dreamer has suffered his share of losses lately, but tonight he looks to steady things with a win over Matt Striker. Unfortunately for Dreamer, Striker as always has Big Daddy V with him at ringside, giving the extreme teacher a huge advantage. Dreamer goes straight for Striker, swinging with rights and lefts until Striker dives through the ropes and hides behind V. Striker and V try to regroup on the outside, and eventually Striker returns to the ring and he and Dreamer tie up. Dreamer begins to work on the shoulder of Striker, driving his shoulder into Striker’s and then applying an armbar. Striker grabs a handful of hair, and then brakes the hold with a drop toe hold. Dreamer goes through the ropes and lands at the feet of V, and with the referee distracted, V drives Dreamer spine first into the ringpost. Now it’s Striker who goes to work, hitting a backbreaker and then driving the knee into the small of the back. Striker then throws Dreamer shoulder first into the ringpost, and goes for a roll up that gets him a 2 count. Striker thinks he has Dreamer wore down enough, so he goes for the golden rule... but Dreamer counters it, ducks a right hand... DDT! Dreamer nails the DDT, hooks the leg... 1... 2... 3! Tommy Dreamer picks up the win, and things continue to go downhill for Matt Striker and Big Daddy V. Tommy Dreamer beat Matt Striker (C) --------------------- Backstage, Mick Foley is joined in his office by the ECW Champion and his manager... Foley: And what can I do for you two? Estrada: A triple threat? Didn’t you learn your lesson at Summerslam? It doesn’t matter who many people you put in the match... nobody can beat Umaga! Foley: Alright Estrada. But remember this... Umaga doesn’t have to be beat to lose the title. I mean... Angle or Morrison could pin the other one, and we’d still have a new champion. Estrada: Listen my friend... every time you try and get rid of me... it never works. And it’s not going to work this Sunday amigo. Foley: We’ll see. Estrada: Yeah we will... Foley: Have a nice day... ----------------------- Shelton Benjamin v The Miz The gold standard and the chick magnet square off tonight, both men who have had a bad run of results recently. Miz hasn’t been the same since he turned on John Morrison, while Benjamin has lost his title and the man he thought he could depend on in recent weeks. Both men get in each other’s face and trash talk as the bell rings, until Miz slaps Benjamin across the face... and then Shelton takes him down and pummels him with right hands. Benjamin then shows off his athleticism, as when Miz reverses and Irish whip to the corner, Benjamin quickly jumps to the top rope and catches Miz with a diving back elbow. Benjamin tries to stay on the attack with a tornado DDT, but Miz counters by driving Benjamin back first into the corner. Miz attacks with rights and lefts, and then takes Benjamin out of the corner to hit a great neckbreaker for a 2 count. Miz begins to grow in confidence, and he starts playing up to Layla at ringside. Unfortunately, Benjamin is back on his feet, and as Miz turns around, Shelton nails a great T-bone suplex. Benjamin goes for the cover... 1... 2... Miz kicks out! Benjamin is shocked, but if that didn’t finish Miz off, this will... paydirt! Benjamin connects, hooks the leg... 1... 2... 3! Shelton Benjamin grabs the win, but as soon as the referee raises his hand... Shelton Benjamin beat The Miz (B) Styles: A great win for Shelton Benjamin. Tazz: I got to admit, Shelton Benjamin is really starting to impress me. He’s dropped the attitude, he’s... Styles: Wait here comes Elijah Burke! Tazz: Yeah and Shelton’s meeting him on the ramp! Styles: A brawl has ensued! Benjamin and Burke going at it! Tazz: Look at these two guys! They’re kicking heel out of each other! Styles: Well finally we’ve got officials and agents out here to try separate this but... Tazz: I can’t believe the hatred between these guys now. They used to be buddies, but now they just want to kill each other. Styles: It may not be happening tonight or this Sunday, but one of these days Elijah Burke and Shelton Benjamin are going to meet one on one in the ring. --------------------- Backstage, Anastacia Rose is standing by... Rose: Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome my guest at this time... Kurt Angle! And Kurt, earlier tonight we found out you will be part of a triple threat match this Sunday for the ECW Championship. Kurt... does the fact that you’re up against both Umaga and John Morrison make things easier or harder for you? Angle: It doesn’t matter. Hell, it could be six, eight, ten guys for all I care. All that matters is that when it’s all said and done, I will be ECW Champion. Morrison... you got lucky last week. I was seconds away from beating you. And Umaga... you might have won a triple threat match at Summerslam... but that triple threat match didn’t have an Olympic champion it. Well this one does... and it’s going to be a whole different story. It’s true... it’s damn true! ---------------------- Umaga v Colt Cabana Quite possibly the biggest mis-match we could have. Colt Cabana, a man who’s only been a member of the roster for about 2 months, a man who has been grabbing upset win after upset win... against the Samoan bulldozer and current ECW Champion Umaga. Credit to Cabana though, as despite the obvious fear in his eyes, he charges Umaga at the bell, getting a couple of decent right hands. Umaga pushes him into the corner, but Colt ducks a charge from the big guy, and he then targets the midsection of the champion. Colt then starts teeing off on Umaga’s leg, but again he is forced to the corner... but one more time he avoids a splash for the champion, and this time he goes for a roll-up... 1... 2... almost an upset. The crowd really get behind Colt now, and he starts to believe that maybe he could pull this off. Unfortunately though, it doesn’t last long, as Cabana charges at Umaga... only to run into a heel kick. Umaga then drops Santino with a scoop slam before coming off the ropes with a diving headbutt. Cabana is down and hurt, and Umaga drags him towards the corner. Colt’s head is propped up in the corner, as Umaga lines him up... oh! Cabana’s head crashes off the bottom turnbuckle, and it looks like this could be the end of the Cabana streak. Umaga again scoops Colt up and slams him to the mat, and the champion climbs to the top rope. Umaga steadies himself, and looks to go for a splash that will surely end it all. Here comes Umaga... nobody home! Cabana managed to roll out of harm’s way, and now he goes on the attack. Kicks to the head, and now Cabana comes off the ropes... double knee drop! Colt goes for a cover... 1... 2... Umaga kicks out. Colt almost had the upset... and now it’s his turn to climb to the top rope. Colt steadies himself for a missile dropkick... but he gets distracted by Estrada... oh! Colt loses his balance and has an uncomfortable landing on top of the turnbuckle. Styles and Tazz are outraged... Styles: Oh c’mon! Somebody get Estrada out of here! Tazz: Why isn’t the ref kicking... Styles: Wait... here comes Mick Foley. Tazz: Foley reading the riot act to Estrada. Styles: Mick Foley telling Armando Estrada to... oh! Tazz: Estrada just slapped Mick Foley! Styles: Right hand from Foley! Estrada and Foley going at it on the outside! Tazz: What the hell is this? Styles: It’s John Morrison! Tazz: What the hell is Morrison doing out here? Styles: Morrison through the crowd... oh! Morrison just nailed Umaga with the title! Tazz: I don’t believe this! Styles: The referee never saw it. Cabana... crawling towards Umaga... Tazz: C’mon ref! Styles: Cabana has the cover... 1... 2... Tazz: He’s gonna do it! Styles: 3! He did it! The streak rolls on! Colt Cabana has just beaten the ECW Champion! Tazz: Thanks to a huge assist from John Morrison. Brilliant way to lead into the PPV. Glad to see the Cabana streak stay alive! ECW has gone from a show I could care less about to probably my favorite show to keep up with in your Dynasty! Keep up the good work and I can't wait for the PPV!
Brilliant way to lead into the PPV. Glad to see the Cabana streak stay alive! ECW has gone from a show I could care less about to probably my favorite show to keep up with in your Dynasty! Keep up the good work and I can't wait for the PPV!
I love it when a plan comes together! :p Seriously though, that was one of the reasons why I gave ECW that guys I did in the draft. I want to present ECW as a viable third brand, with storylines just as strong as the other two. And I've been slowly building a storyline for about a month of game time now that hopefully help that. It should all become clearer in the upcoming weeks. ;) As for Cabana, I have this idea starting on next weeks ECW I think is going to be pretty funny. Hopefully you will agree. Smackdown will be up in like 2 hours. I'm writing Unforgiven as we speak and I want to get at least half way through that before I post the next show. Again man, thanks for the comments! :)

Hello everyone, welcome to Friday Night Smackdown, coming to you from Nashville, TN. I’m Michael Cole, alongside Jonathan Coachman, and Coach, last week’s opponents are tonight’s partners tonight. Coach: Well Mr McMahon has decided that Rey Mysterio and the Big Show will team up to take on Bobby Lashley and CM Punk. All four of these guys have been chasing the title in recent weeks, we’ll see what they’ve got to offer tonight. Cole: Well tonight we’re going to kick things off with the World Heavyweight Champion, as we go inside the VIP lounge. MVP: Once again MVP is in the ring, so it can only mean one thing. Big things are poppin’, little things are droppin’, it’s time for the VIP lounge. Speaking of little things, allow me to welcome my guest tonight... Rey Mysterio. Cole: Well here comes the number contender, Rey Mysterio. Will Rey Mysterio be the man to end MVP’s title reign this Sunday at Unforgiven? Coach: Not a chance. MVP has been one of the most dominant champions in Smackdown history, no way is Mysterio taking the title away. MVP: Now... Rey... this Sunday you’re steppin’ into the ring with me at Unforgiven. You somehow managed to fluke your way past Big Show and Bobby Lashley to get this title shot... I bet you feel pretty good about yourself right now. You beat Edge at Summerslam, and now you want to try beat me for the World Heavyweight Championship. Well I got news for you Rey... you can’t beat me. There ain’t a chance in hell of you leaving Unforgiven as the champion. Mysterio: No chance in hell? You know... I bet a lot of people said that when I won the title at Wrestlemania 22. And I bet a lot of people said you didn’t have a chance when you won the title at Night of Champions. So... I think I’ve got every chance of beating you this Sunday. MVP: Oh you think so? Well this Sunday ain’t gonna have no fairytale story behind it. There ain’t going to be no happy ending this time Rey. Unforgiven... is not going to work out the way you want it to. Mysterio: I think it’ll work out great for me. Infact... Cole: Oh! MVP just nailed Rey with the microphone. And now the champion is attacking with right hands. Coach: Well Rey pushed MVP too far, and this it... Cole: Wait... drop toe hold... 619! Rey Mysterio just kicked MVP out of his own VIP Lounge! What is this going to mean for this Sunday at Unforgiven? -------------------- Matt Sydal v Andy Douglas Sydal has made a solid start to life in the WWE, and he looked to continue it tonight against Andy Douglas. Douglas was joined at ringside by partner Chase Stevens, with Douglas and Stevens hoping they have better luck in singles competition than what they have had in tag team action. Both men tie up and jockey for position, until Douglas gets a waist lock which Sydal counters with an armdrag. Sydal quickens the pace with another armdrag and a hurricanrana, but Douglas grounds him with a pair of hard kicks to the midsection. Douglas sends Sydal off the ropes, and when Sydal ducks a clothesline, he nails Douglas with a roundhouse kick. Sydal goes for the cover... 1... 2... Douglas kicks out. Sydal tries to stay on the attack, but he runs right into a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker. Douglas locks on a chinlock, but eventually Sydal fights back to his feet. Douglas sends Sydal to the corner, but Sydal gets the boot up... and then quickly goes to the second rope... double knee strike. Douglas goes down, and Sydal again goes to the corner, this time going to the top rope. Sydal steadies himself... shooting star press! Sydal connects, hooks the leg... 1... 2... 3! Matt Sydal grabs the win and continues to make an impression here on Smackdown. JBL: Well my neck hurts, the stock markets are falling... but apart from that I feel great. Vince: Good. So when are you getting back in the ring? JBL: Well I don’t know. I might never make it back. Vince: Never? JBL: That’s right. Vince: I tell you what JBL... why don’t you watch the rest of the show from my office? Infact, Edge hasn’t been seen since Summerslam, and last week’s loss to Jimmy Wang Yang by Hawkins shows that they might still be missing their mentor. The match starts with Jimmy and Hawkins picking up where they left off last week, and Jimmy quickly attacks with a fast paced offence, using armdrags and hiptosses to take down Hawkins. Jimmy tags in Shannon, who hit a springboard crossbody for a 2 count. Shannon and Jimmy then show great team work, with Moore sending Hawkins off the ropes and Jimmy hitting a great dropkick. Hawkins is sent to the corner, but Jimmy runs into an elbow and then Hawkins drops him with a neckbreaker. The champions now make a series of quick tags while working on Jimmy, with the champions hitting suplexes and backbreakers to great effect. Ryder locks Jimmy in a headlock, but Jimmy manages to break it with a jawbreaker before diving for his corner to tag in Shannon Moore. Moore comes into the ring and knocks Hawkins off the apron and then hits Ryder with a dropkick. Moore goes to the top rope... and hits a crossbody! 1... 2... Hawkins makes the save. Jimmy races into the ring, and pretty soon all four men are going at it. Shannon and Ryder take out each other with a clothesline over the top, leaving Jimmy and Hawkins. Hawkins sends Jimmy to the corner, but Jimmy quickly goes to the top and looks for the moonsault... but he misses! Wang Yang hits the mat hard, and when he staggers to his feet... spear! Hawkins hits a spear, goes for the cover... 1... 2... 3. Hawkins and Ryder retain the titles. I got screwed out of it on Raw... and I’m not going to let it happen here on Smackdown. This Sunday, I’m going to destroy Bobby Lashley... and then I don’t care if it’s Rey Mysterio or MVP... I’ll destroy either one of them too. Hardy dominates the early going, taking Palumbo down with a headlock and then hitting a leglock. Hardy then sends Palumbo off the ropes, but Chuck reverses it and when Hardy comes back across, he catches Matt and hits a belly to belly overhead suplex. Palumbo now goes on the attack, driving Matt to the corner and hitting him with right hands and chops across the chest. Palumbo drops Hardy with a snapmare and then delivers a stiff kick to the spine before locking on a chinlock. Palumbo then uses a series of slams and belly to back suplexes to get a long 2 count. Hardy starts a comeback of sorts with a hard right hands followed by several knees to the gut, followed by a clothesline in the corner and a legdrop from the second rope. Hardy gets a 2 count but he looks to continue the momentum bu going for the twist of fate... but Palumbo counters, sends Hardy off the ropes... big boot to the face! Palumbo goes for the cover, 1... 2... Hardy gets the shoulder up! Palumbo thought he had it won... and he could end it right here. Palumbo has Hardy up for the full throttle... but Hardy reverses it... twist of fate! Hardy nails it, goes for the cover... 1... 2... 3! Matt Hardy grabs a big win ahead of his match at Unforgiven. Matt Hardy beat Chuck Palumbo (B-) Cole: An impressive win for Matt Hardy ahead of the United States Championship match this Sunday. From behind, Paul Burchill with a neckbreaker! A sneak attack from Paul Burchill. Coach: Well he may have got Hardy from behind, but Paul Burchill is making a point right here. And I got to say... you guys impressed me. Hawkins: Thanks but... where have you been? Ryder: And what you going to do now? Edge: Don’t worry... you and everyone else will find out next week. I just wanted to drop by and say hey. I’ll see you guys later. Ryder: Yeah... The match starts with Noble getting up on the apron and distracting Kendrick, which Kidman takes full advantage of by hitting a dropkick from behind. Kidman then focuses in on the lower spine of Kendrick, pushing him to the corner and then driving the knee into the back. Kendrick is then sent off the ropes, and Kidman plants him with a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker and then follows it up with a reverse DDT for a 2 count. Kendrick finally manages to get in some offence when he counters a spinebuster with a tornado DDT. The match swings back and forth, as Kendrick hits a hurricanrana and Kidman hits a bulldog. Kendrick looks like he will take control when he hits a flying forearm smash, only for Noble to again get up on the apron to try and distract him. This time though Paul London is there, and he drags Noble back down to the floor and the two of them start going at it. Kendrick turns around and Kidman is waiting for him with the kid krusher... only for Kendrick to counter down the back, grab Kidman under the chin and run him to the corner... sliced bread! Kendrick hooks the leg, 1... 2... 3! Brian Kendrick gets the win, and his re-association with Paul London seems to be paying off for him. Brian Kendrick beat Billy Kidman (B-) -------------------- Backstage, Josh Matthews is standing by... Josh: Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome my guest at this time... Bobby Lashley! Bobby, three weeks ago you had a shot at becoming number one contender, but you lost in a triple threat match with the Big Show and Rey Mysterio. This Sunday at Unforgiven, can you take the next step by beating the Big Show and become the number one contender? Lashley: You know, I got a lot of respect for the Big Show. He’s 7 feet tall... but I’m not afraid of him. And I’m sick of all the talking, about how everybody wants to be the number one contender and take the title from MVP. I think I’ll just let my performance this Sunday do the talking for me. ----------------------- Montel Vontavious Porter v Chavo Guerrero With MVP set to defend his title this Sunday against Rey Mysterio, Chavo Guerrero will prove to be a difficult test for the champion tonight, as no-one knows Rey as well as the Mexican warrior. MVP shows Chavo little respect early on, taking him down and then slapping Chavo across the back of the head. The fight then turns heated as Chavo backs MVP into the corner and pummels him with right hands. An Irish whip sends MVP across, and Chavo charges in... but he misses and goes shoulder first into the ringpost. MVP wastes no time in taking advantage, stomping on the shoulder and applying an armbar. Chavo fights back to his feet, but MVP stays on the arm, dropping Chavo with a shoulderbreaker. MVP then comes off the ropes looking for the ballin’ elbow... but he takes too long and Chavo rolls out of the way. Chavo now goes on the attack, still feeling the effects of the damage done to this shoulder so he uses his feet, delivering kicks to the midsection and then a headscissor takedown. The takedown leaves MVP in great position, and Chavo climbs to the top rope... frog splash... no! MVP got his knees up to block it. Chavo is down, writhing in pain, and the champion lines him up. As Chavo struggles back to his knees, MVP charges in... drive by kick! Chavo crashes to the mat, and MVP hooks the leg... 1... 2... 3. An impressive win for MVP, and with Rey Mysterio no doubt watching, he no doubt will have sent a strong message to his opponent this Sunday. Lashley beat Punk last week, and from the get go it is clear there is an underlying tension between the two. Mysterio got the win over Big Show last week thanks to a botched interference from MVP, and the big guy is far from happy at having to team with Mysterio now. Mysterio and Punk start the match, and the two show each other a lot of respect, but as soon as the first takedown happens, the match starts to heat up. Punk and Rey fly about the ring, with Mysterio hitting a springboard crossbody and Punk hitting his knee to the head in the corner and bulldog combination. Punk makes the tag to Lashley, who comes into the ring full of power, taking Mysterio down with a couple of clotheslines and then lifting him high in the air and then dropping him with a gorilla press slam. Lashley and Punk continue to use quick tags in an effort to soften up Mysterio, but eventually Rey leapfrogs a Lashley spear attempt, take him over with a hurricanrana and dives for the corner to tag in Big Show. Show steps over the top rope and knocks down Lashley with a clothesline before sending Punk through the air with a back body drop. Big Show now targets his opponent on Sunday Lashley, sending him off the ropes and flooring him with a big boot. Punk is back up and he catches Show with a boot to the gut, but Mysterio is on the top rope... west coast pop! 1... 2... Lashley makes the save, and as he gets back on his feet... spear! A spear to Big Show! Lashley thinks he has the big guy beat, but Mysterio hits him with a dropkick from behind. Lashley is hung up on the middle rope, as Rey charges in... 619! Rey goes for the cover... 1... 2... 3! Rey Mysterio and Big Show beat Bobby Lashley and CM Punk (B) Cole: Mysterio and Big Show get the win! Is this what we’ll see this Sunday? Will we have a new champion and a huge number one contender? Join us on pay per view for Unforgiven. Welcome to Unforgiven! Hello everyone, I’m Michael Cole, my Smackdown colleague as always is Jonathan Coachman, and Coach, tonight could be a big night for Smackdown. Coach: It’s going to be a huge night, but not for the reasons you want it to be for Cole. MVP is going to retain the title against Rey Mysterio. I guarantee it! Cole: Also tonight, the vacant United States Championship will be decided in the final of the month long tournament we’ve had. Right now let’s hand it over to our ECW colleagues, Joey Styles and Tazz. Styles: Thanks Michael. Tonight, the ECW Champion Umaga defends his title in a triple threat match featuring John Morrison and Kurt Angle. Tazz: Right and I’m hoping tonight is the night we get rid of Umaga as ECW Champion. He and Armando Estrada have been disrespecting our general manager and our brand for long enough. Tonight, I hope we get rid of them. Styles: Let’s hand it over to the Raw desk, and hall of famers Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler. JR: Thanks Joey. Tonight, we could see the dawning of the Revolution on Raw, or we could be saved by a group of superstars who have shown some resistance in recent weeks. King: Well the big question is can Chris Jericho, Batista and The Undertaker save us from Revolution? Those three guys have a lot on their shoulders tonight, let’s hope they can get it done. JR: Undertaker and Kenny Dykstra, Batista against Shane McMahon and Mr Kennedy, and Triple H and Chris Jericho in a cage for the WWE Championship are all to come... but we’re going to kick things off with the Intercontinental Championship. Cody Rhodes takes on Carlito for the gold... Intercontinental Championship Match Carlito (C) v Cody Rhodes A rivalry that started over Cody giving Carlito’s brother Primo a loss on his Raw debut has quickly escalated into a battle over the Intercontinental Championship. Primo and Apolo have both accompanied Carlito to ringside, making Cody’s task tonight that much harder. The match starts at a fast pace, as right from the first tie up, Cody tires to go for the pin, taking Carlito down with an inside cradle for a 2 count. Carlito swings and misses with a right hand, which Cody turns into a backslide for another 2 count. Again Carlito goes for Cody, but the youngster sends the champion over the top to the floor, where a clearly frustrated Carlito looks to regroup with his Cartel. After talking things over, Carlito returns to the ring, and he immediately catches Cody with a boot to the midsection. Carlito then slams Cody to the mat, and he comes off the ropes and drops the knee across the head. Carlito then takes Cody to the corner where he attacks with a series of rights and lefts and boots. Carlito then hits a great swinging neckbreaker, and he waits for Cody to get back on his feet. Cody staggers back up, and Carlito goes for the backstabber... but Cody grabs the top rope. As Carlito gets back up, Cody spins him around... DDT! Cody hits the DDT, we’re going to have a new champion... but Apolo drags Carlito out of the ring before Cody can go for the cover. JR: Now c’mon. Cody Rhodes was about to go for the cover, and that damn Apolo dragged Carlito out of harm’s way. Something’s got to be... King: Wait... did you hear that JR? JR: The referee... he’s kicking Apolo and Primo out of here! King: Carlito can’t believe it! JR: Well now maybe we’ll have a level playing field. Carlito is furious, and he decides to quickly get back in the ring and take it out on Cody. Carlito pummels Cody with right hands and knees to the spine, before dropping Cody with a backbreaker. Carlito continues to focus on the lower back of Cody, using a variation of the camel clutch to apply pressure. Carlito pulls back as hard as he can, resulting in Cody to cry out in pain. The crowd try to rally behind him though, and Cody manages to make it back to his feet. An couple of elbows to the gut forces Carlito to let go of the hold, and Cody comes off the ropes and hits him with a shoulder charge. An Irish whip then sends Carlito to the corner, but when Cody follows him in, Carlito gets the boot up... and nails the backstabber! A great effort from Cody, but that’s going to do it... 1... 2... Cody has his foot on the rope! Carlito slams his fist off the mat in disgust, and he starts to get in the referee’s face. Cody barely makes it back to his feet, the damage to his back clearly taking its toll, but Carlito goes right back to work, with right hands to the spine and then a scoop slam. Carlito then climbs to the second rope, and comes off looking for a legdrop... nobody home! Carlito crashes off the mat, and Cody now goes on the attack. Rights and lefts follow, before an Irish whip sends Carlito off the ropes... dropkick from Cody! Carlito goes down, and Cody is climbing to the top rope... moonsault! Cody goes for the cover... 1... 2... Carlito gets the shoulder up! Cody almost had it won, but he now waits for Carlito to get back up. Slowly Carlito gets to his feet... kick to the midsection... DDT... no Carlito counters with a back body drop, but Cody lands on his feet... DDT! This time Cody connects, and he hooks the leg... 1... 2... 3! We’ve got a new Intercontinental Champion! Cody Rhodes beat Carlito to become the new Intercontinental Champion (B-) JR: Cody Rhodes! Cody Rhodes is the new Intercontinental Champion! King: I don’t believe it! Chris Jericho! And Chris... is tonight the night you regain the WWE Championship from Triple H? Jericho: You know what Maria... I think it is. Tonight is the night I once again save the WWE. This Revolution thing has only been around for about a month, but already I’m sick and tired of it. I everything goes the way I think it will... then the Revolution will be over... before it’s even begun. -------------------- Number One Contenders Match Big Show v Bobby Lashley Against anyone else, Lashley usually looks dominant, but the Big Show makes him look small in this battle of two powerful former ECW Champions. Big Show attacks as soon as the bell rings, but Lashley ducks his right hand and then scores with a succession of his own. Lashley tries to show some quickness by coming off the ropes, but he runs right into the elbow of the Big Show. Show then attacks with clubbing blows to the spine and then slaps across the chest, but Lashley again hits right hands... until Show drops him with a sidewalk slam. Show then delivers kicks to the midsection, before rocking Lashley with a headbutt. Big Show then tries to squash Lashley in the corner, but again Lashley manages to avoid the attack, and he goes back to work with the right hands, before coming off the ropes... and getting caught in a bearhug. Big Show scoops Lashley up off the amt and squeezes the life out of him. Show starts throwing Lashley around like a rag doll, as he wrenches on Lashley’s midsection. Eventually Lashley begins to fade, and the referee lifts his hand... it drops. Lashley’s hand drops again, but on the third time he manages to keep it up. Lashley now begins a comeback, breaking the bearhug with right hands, before trying to slam Show... but Lashley’s legs buckle. Big Show is on top... 1... 2... Lashley gets the shoulder up. Big Show again pummels the back of Lashley, using right hands and forearms, before a hard Irish whip sends Lashley crashing off the turnbuckle. Big Show continues his focused attack, suplexing Lashley and then locking on an abdominal stretch. Big Show again looks to wear Lashley down, but Lashley manages to counter with a huge hiptoss. Lashley now goes on the attack, hitting boots to the gut before coming off the ropes... flying shoulderblock! Lashley has the momentum, and he lines Big Show up in the corner. Lashley charges in... spear... no... Big Show has him by the throat... chokeslam! Big Show hits the chokeslam, hooks the leg... 1... 2... Lashley kicks out! Big Show can’t believe it, but he drags Lashley to his feet and grabs him by the throat again... another chokeslam... no! Lashley breaks the grip... and he gets Big Show up on his shoulder... powerslam! Lashley slams the Big Show, hooks the leg... 1... 2... no! This time Big Show kicks out. Lashley again goes to the opposite corner and waits for Show to get back up. Show staggers to his feet and Lashley charges in... spear! Lashley hits the spear... 1... 2... 3! Lashley pins Big Show, and he becomes the new number one contender! A great battle between two powerful superstars, and despite his disappointment at defeat, Big Show shakes Lashley’s hand after the match. Shane: Yeah Cena I did. Listen... I got a lot of stuff going on right now. This thing between you and Randy Orton... I don’t have time for this. I want this to end, understand me? I don’t want to see anymore attacks like I saw last Monday night on Raw. Cena: You want it to end? Shane: Yeah I do. Cena: You know... when I beat Randy at Summerslam, I thought it had ended. I thought it was over... but then Orton cost me the title a couple weeks ago when I had your boy Triple H beat. Shane: Well, wait a minute... Cena: I had him beat Shane! I was going to get back my title... and I had it stolen away from me again. So if Orton wants to keep this going... I’m cool with that. I will gladly kick his ass every week until I get my revenge. And trust me Shane... I will get my revenge. Shane: Alright... fine. But don’t either of you come running to me, cause I don’t have time for your crap right now. Cena: Fine. You just hide behind Triple H and Kennedy... Taker back Dykstra into a corner, and as Kenny tries to escape, the Deadman just tosses him against the turnbuckle and unleashes a torrent of rights to the midsection. Dykstra is sent across the ring to the opposite corner, and as he staggers out, The Undertaker nails him with a big boot. Taker now begins to work on Dykstra’s shoulder, hitting it with right hands and then sending Kenny shoulder first into the ringpost. Dykstra rolls to the outside to try and get back his focus, but the Deadman just follows him outside and stays on the attack by sending Kenny into the steel steps. Back in the ring, the Deadman again locks onto the arm, and he goes to the corner and climbs to the top rope, looking for old school... but Dykstra kicks the ropes and Taker has a uncomfortable landing. Now it’s Dykstra who attacks, hitting Taker with boots and then choking The Undertaker on the ropes. Dykstra then hits a series of boots in the corner, but once The Undertaker hits the mat, the referee calls for a break. As the ref checks on the Deadman, Dykstra goes to the opposite corner and takes off the protective cover of the top turnbuckle. Kenny then goes back in, and he looks to Irish whip The Undertaker into the steel... but Taker reverses... oh! Kenny’s back strikes the exposed turnbuckle, and Taker nails him with a big boot. Undertaker again grabs Kenny by the arm, and he again climbs the ropes... old school connects! Undertaker with the cover... 1... 2... Dykstra kicks out. Dykstra tries to run and hid in the corner, but Undertaker charges in... and misses with a boot. The match again swings back in Dykstra’s favour, as he drops a couple of elbows and then blatantly chokes The Undertaker. Dykstra then starts to climb to the top rope, looking to nail the legdrop off the top. He steadies himself, jumps off... but he misses! Undertaker is quickly back to his feet, hitting rapid rights and lefts, before nailing another big boot. Dykstra is down, but Undertaker scoops him up, and goes for snake eyes in the corner... but Dykstra counters... and he drives Taker head first into the exposed steel! Almost immediately Taker is busted open, and it looks like he might be out cold. Dykstra again begins to climb to the top rope... legdrop connects! Kenny hits the legdrop, hooks the leg... 1... 2... no! Undertaker barely got the shoulder up. Kenny can’t believe it... and here comes the reinforcements... Harry and TJ jump up onto the apron, but the referee stops them at the ropes and orders them to the back. Natalya sneaks round the back and tosses in a chair to Kenny. Kenny grabs the chair, takes a swing... oh! Undertaker kicks the chair back in Kenny’s face! Taker, a bloody mess, staggers towards the ropes... right hands to TJ and Harry! Dykstra is barely able to stand, and he turns right into... a tombstone! Undertaker hits the tombstone, goes for the cover... but Natalya is on the apron! The referee tries to get her down... and Undertaker grabs her by the throat! He’s going to... oh! Kenny from behind with the chair, the referee was distracted and missed it, and now Kenny goes for the cover... 1... 2... 3. Kenny Dykstra beat The Undertaker (B+) JR: Dammit! Burchill goes into the match with a slight advantage after his sneak attack on Hardy last Friday night, but that is quickly taking away, as with Burchill in the ring , staring down the aisle as Hardy’s music hits, Matt comes through the crowd and jumps him from behind. The bell rings, and Hardy is already on the attack, knocking Burchill through the ropes and then driving him spine first into the apron. Hardy then rolls Burchill back into the ring, but the Englishman is quickly back on his feet, driving Matt to the corner and then hitting an overhead belly to belly suplex. The fight again goes out to the floor, with Burchill hitting a short arm clothesline and then hitting clubbing blows to the back. Back in the ring, Burchill is in control, and he rocks Hardy with hard rights in the corner. Burchill drops Hardy with a backbreaker, then proceeds to deliver several elbow drops. It doesn’t look good for Hardy, as Burchill drags him back to his feet and looks to hit the C4... but Hardy fires back with elbows... side effect! Hardy counter the C4 into the side effect, and now he goes for a cover... 1... 2... Burchill gets the shoulder up! Hardy tries to stay on the offensive, taking Burchill down with a Russian leg sweep and then climbing to the second rope... legdrop. Hardy again gets a cover... 1... 2... Burchill kicks out. The crowd is fully behind Hardy, and he looks to build on the momentum... he grabs Burchill round the neck... twist of... no! Burchill grabs hold of the referee to save himself. As the referee reprimands Burchill for his actions, someone slips into the ring... And Batista, earlier tonight we heard Chris Jericho say that he was determined to save Raw from Revolution, but we also just saw Kenny Dykstra beat The Undertaker. Batista.. you can play your part in the saving of Raw if you can overcome Shane McMahon and Mr Kennedy in a handicap match tonight. Batista... can you get it done and overcome the odds against Revolution? Batista: I’m not one for this whole saviour thing... but I will say this. Shane McMahon... you trying to hold me down and keep me away from the title... it stops tonight. I am going to finally get my hands on you Shane... and I’m going to destroy you and Kennedy. And when I’m done... it’s going to take more than Revolution to hold me back! --------------------- Shane McMahon and Mr Kennedy v Batista Kennedy agrees to start the match for his team, with little resistance to the idea from Shane. As Batista and Kennedy go face to face in the ring, Kennedy tries to get a cheap shot in, but Batista blocks it, hits a series of right hands of his own, sends Kennedy off the ropes and floors him with a big clothesline. The Animal stays on the attack, sending Kennedy off the ropes... spinebuster! Batista hooks the leg, 1... 2... Shane makes the save. Kennedy now seizes the advantage, delivering kicks to the midsection, before making the tag to Raw’s general manager. Shane steps through the ropes, but the Animal is already back on his feet, and his eyes lock in on Shane. After putting up with so much over the last few months, this is finally Batista’s chance to get his hands on Shane. However, Shane sees Batista coming and dives through the ropes, but the Animal is in hot pursuit. A foot race around the ring develops, but when Batista takes a shortcut back into the ring, he nails Shane with a hard right hand! Batista sends Shane to the corner, where he drives his shoulder into the gut. Batista looks to send Shane off the ropes, but McMahon reverses, and Kennedy catches Batista on the apron with his knee, before Shane hits a flying clothesline. Shane takes a couple of shots with elbows and boots, and then he tags Kennedy back into the match. Kennedy targets the ribs of the Animal, and the Revolution members make good use of quick tags to wear Batista down. Shane even feels confident enough to break out the Shane O’ Mac shuffle, teeing off on Batista with right hands... until Batista ducks and nails Shane with a spinebuster. Kennedy charges the ring, but Batista is ready for him, catching him with a right and slamming him to the mat. The numbers game catches up on him though, as Shane dropkicks him from behind, and then Kennedy hits a Russian leg sweep. Shane gets the tag, and he climbs to the top rope... and nails an elbow drop! Shane goes for the cover, 1... 2... Batista kicks out! Shane is enraged, but he and Kennedy stay on the attack, with Kennedy propping Batista up in the corner and Shane climbing to the top rope. Shane is looking to go coast to coast... but Batista pushes Kennedy into the ropes and Shane goes crashing to the floor! Batista is back up... spinebuster! Batista begins to shake the ropes... thumbs up... thumbs down! Batista has Kennedy set up... JR: Batista-bomb! Batista-bomb to Kennedy! King: Cover him! Those damn Bulldogs and Kenny Dykstra are back out here! King: They pulled out the referee! With no ref, all hell breaks loose. Harry and TJ start a 2 on 1 assault, with Shane barely able to drag himself back into the ring. Eventually they roll Batista outside, where Harry grabs a chair... oh! A sickening shot to Batista’s skull. Shane calls for Batista to be set up on the announce table... and again Shane climbs to the top rope. Shane looks to elbow drop Batista through the Smackdown announce desk... but the Animal fights back. He drives TJ into the apron, causing Shane to land on the turnbuckle. Batista now nails Harry, and eventually both of them are placed on the Smackdown announce desk. Batista now turns to Shane, and he jumps up onto the apron. What on earth does he have in mind here? JR: What... what is this? King: What’s Batista going to...? JR: Oh wait a minute. Wait a minute. No! JR: Batista has just wiped out Revolution! The Animal now turns his attentions back to the ring. Kennedy has only just now recovered from the Batista-bomb, and he slowly staggers to his feet. Batista kicks him in the gut... hoists him up... Batista-bomb! A second Batista-bomb! Batista makes the cover, and here comes a second referee... 1... 2... 3! JR: Yes! Yes! Batista has done it! Batista has just destroyed Revolution! King: I can’t believe this! Morrison: I’d say Kurt Angle being in there only makes it harder. But I’m still going into this looking to win. Mick Foley chose me to lead us past Armando Estrada... and I may have got rid of him as ECW general manager... but I’m not done yet. Tonight... I’m going to get rid of Estrada and Umaga for good... and become the new ECW Champion. -------------------- ECW Championship Triple Threat Match Umaga (C) v John Morrison v Kurt Angle Three men who have had the share of problems in recent weeks, and now they meet for the ECW Championship. Morrison was involved in the triple threat at Summerslam, and he was on the losing end as it was the Samoan Bulldozer who walked away with the belt. Tensions between Morrison and Angle grew when the two meet on Sci-Fi two weeks ago, so there would be no partnerships is this one. As the bell rings, all three men carefully approach each other, waiting to see who will make the first move. It’s Angle who goes first, charging at Umaga, only for the champion to send him flying with a hiptoss. Morrison is more than happy to stand back and watch this, as again Angle goes on the attack, only for Umaga to overpower him, scooping him up and slamming him to the mat. Morrison now gives it a shot, but he runs into a heel kick. Angle and Morrison now get in each other’s faces, and eventually they start trading right hands. Morrison sends Angle off the ropes, but Kurt reverses and catches Morrison with a belly to belly overhead. Umaga now targets Angle, sending him to the corner and then crushing Angle. Kurt slumps down so that his head is positioned on the bottom turnbuckle, and Umaga now turns his attentions to Morrison, scooping him up and hanging Morrison in a tree of woe position. Umaga sees he has both of his challengers in precarious states, and he first lines up Angle, charges in... oh! Angle’s neck snaps back and his head hits the bottom turnbuckle, but Umaga isn’t finished, he charges at Morrison... diving headbutt! Morrison slumps to the mat, and Umaga goes for the cover... 1... 2... Angle makes the save! Angle now hits a flurry of right hands on Umaga, and he sends the champion of the ropes... Umaga ducks a right hand... but Morrison catches him with a spinning heel kick. Umaga is down, and Morrison charges the ropes... split legged corkscrew moonsault! Morrison has the cover... 1... 2... again Angle breaks it up. Angle now goes on the attack, dragging Umaga to his feet and sending the champion through the ropes to the floor. The two challengers now go at it, with Angle hitting a release German suplex and Morrison scoring with an enziguri. Morrison then drags Angle back to his feet, kicks him in the midsection... moonlight drive! Morrison hits his finisher, hooks the leg... 1... 2... Umaga comes off the top rope... Samoan splash to break the count! Umaga flew through the air to save his title, and he grabs hold of Angle... Samoan spike... no! Angle ducks... Angle slam! Angle hits the Angle slam on Umaga, but here comes Morrison... ankle lock! Angle has the ankle lock applied! Morrison is screaming in agony, and it looks like Angle is about to win the title! Morrison is trying to crawl his way towards the ropes, but he can’t quite reach... but Umaga’s back up... he grabs Angle... Samoan spike! Umaga nails Angle, drops on top of him... 1... 2... 3! Umaga retains the ECW Championship, but Morrison and Angle took him all the way. Mysterio counters all of these early attempts, managing to break free and score some offence with kicks to the back of the leg. Mysterio hits a hurricanrana for a 2 count, and then stays on the attack with yet more kicks to the thigh. MVP swings and misses with a right hand, and Rey catches him with a drop toe hold. MVP’s in position... 619... no. MVP ducks out of the ring before Rey can connects, but Mysterio charges off the ropes again... suicide dive! Mysterio takes MVP out on the floor, and the early goings of this match belong to the challenger. The champion manages to roll back into the ring, and again Rey attacks with the boot. Rey tries to send MVP to the corner, but MVP reverses the Irish whip and almost takes Rey’s head off with a boot. The champion hits a couple of forearms before locking on a long headlock. Rey eventually battles back to his feet, but MVP drives Rey face first of his knee, and the champion stays in control by slamming Rey to the mat and then hitting a legdrop. MVP sends Rey off the ropes, but when the champion goes for a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker, Rey counters it with a headscissors. Both men stay down, and the referee starts his 10 count. Both men beat the count, but when MVP tries to hit a right hand, Rey ducks and again hits kicks to the leg. Rey then hits several forearms, before bouncing off the ropes... springboard crossbody! Rey hooks the leg, 1... 2... MVP gets the shoulder up. Mysterio has the momentum, and he stays on the offensive with a tornado DDT. Mysterio hits the second rope... springboard moonsault! 1... 2... again MVP hangs on! Rey can’t believe it, but he comes off the ropes... and runs right into a clothesline. MVP decides he’s had enough, and he sets up Rey for the playmaker... but Mysterio counters... drop toe hold! MVP’s in position... 619! Mysterio connects... he bounces to the top rope... droppin’ da dime... no! MVP rolled out of harm’s way... drive by kick! MVP got all of it, goes for the cover... 1... 2... 3! It took the combined might of Revolution the following night on Raw to finally hand the belt to the Game. Now, his ego has put him into a cage match with Y2J, and the title could be about to change hands again. A lot of trash talking is done, and when they finally tie up, it’s Jericho who gains the early advantage, driving Triple H to the corner and hitting right hands and Flair-esque chops across the chest. The Game tries hitting rights of his own, but Jericho blocks them, and he stays on the attack, sending Triple H off the ropes, only for the Game to reverse it... and drive his knee into Jericho’s face. Triple H now slams Jericho’s head off the top turnbuckle, and he starts teeing off on Jericho’s head. The champion then sends Jericho off the ropes, and he plants the challenger with a spinebuster. Again the champion rains down with hard hands, as the intensity of the match begins to rise, before sending Jericho face first into the side of the cage. Almost immediately, Jericho is busted open, and the Game continues to focus on Jericho’s head by dropping a knee across it. Again Jericho is sent into the steel, and the blood continues to pour. Jericho is continually sent crashing off the sides of the cage, and a sick smile is seen on the face of Triple H. At this time we see the first effort at someone trying to leave the cage, as the Game begins to climb his way out. Jericho however is in hot pursuit, and the two begin to battle in the corner on the top rope. Both men hold on with one hand while swinging fists with the other, A right hand from Jericho causes both men to lose their balance, and the both wind up perched on the top rope. Once both men make it back to their feet, Jericho tries to mount some offense, but the Game goes right back to work on the head, as Jericho’s face become even more blood stained. The Game decides he’s had enough, and he sets Jericho up for... JR: Here it comes... King: If Triple H hits this, it’s over. JR: Here comes the pedigree... no! Wait... Jericho counters... King: Oh! JR: Jericho just catapulted the Game face first into the steel. King: Out of sheer desperation, Jericho manages to counter. JR: And now Triple H is busted open! The Game tastes the steel, and now it’s his head which is bleeding profusely. Jericho now gives Triple H a taste of his own medicine, sending him face first into the steel before nailing him with a hard right hand. Jericho now comes off the ropes... lionsault! The Game can barely make it back to his feet... codebreaker! Jericho plants the Game, and now he grabs his legs, turn him over... walls of Jericho! Walls of Jericho! Jericho has it locked in! Triple H screams out in agony, but that makes Jericho pull back even more! The Game is crawling, writhing his body around, trying everything he can to break the hold. The Game starts to tap, but it doesn’t matter, the only way to win is by escape, and Jericho wants to keep Triple H down long enough for him to get out without a fight. Triple H’s body movements begin to slow down, as Jericho cranks up the pressure, the Game is starting to fade. Triple H... it looks like he’s passed out with the pain. The Game hasn’t moved, and once Jericho’s sure he’s out, he realises the hold and begins to crawl towards the door. The referee opens the door, and Jericho begins to crawl out... JR: Jericho’s going to do it! Jericho’s going to be the champion again! King: C’mon Chris. You’ve got one foot out the... JR: Oh! JR: What the hell?! JR: Kenny just tossed the sledgehammer into the ring! And Triple H is back up, and now he’s got the sledgehammer in his hands! With Kenny encouraging him from the outside, Triple H picks up the sledgehammer. He wipes the blood away from his eyes, and drags Jericho back to his feet. Triple H lines him up... oh! A shot to the head with the sledgehammer! Jericho slumps to the canvas, as the Game drops to his knees in exhaustion. But he’s not done there. Again Triple H picks up Jericho’s lifeless body from the mat... and gives him another shot with the sledgehammer! Jericho crashes to the mat, and the Game slowly crawls towards the door of the cage. Kenny pushes the referee aside to open it... and Triple H slumps to the floor and retains his title. Triple H beat Chris Jericho to retain the WWE Championship (A*) JR: Dammit!
Once again, apologies for making it so long. Once I got going I went on a fair bit. :o Comments, queries, criticism and general thoughts on the show would be great.
I loved the show. It is honestly the best show I have read of yours so far. I love the Revolution angle and those four guys fit together so well (Is Kennedy in Revolution? I haven't paid attention to anyone outside of Trips, Kenny and the Dogs). I really hope this angle leads to a 4 vs 4 or 5 vs 5 War Games, Hell In A Cell or Elim. Chamber match at Survivor Series. Burchill winning the belt was great. I hope him and Regal re-christen it the European Title. Cody deserves the IC Belt and hope the Carlito vs. Cody fued continues with maybe Cody getting some good back-up. MVP retaining makes me smile.
