WCW 2007: Redemption and beyond

Recommended Posts

OOC: I don't really feel the need for a deep backstory because i want the focus to be on my booking. I've had a lot of fun booking this diary and i hope to get things running full steam real soon. The basic tale of this diary is this. I'm using the Big 4 verse, in which ECW and WCW have been brought back from the dead as indepedent promotions separate from the WWE, which sold the rights to save some money up as recent thrends have sent revenue downways. The owners of WCW are Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff. Hogan has wanted for years to give Vince another run for his money and this is his chance. I've been brought in as Head Writer, but under Eric Bischoff. Bischoff is my boss and all big booking moves need his ok, but otherwise i have total control. Thank God, but somehow Bischoff used his connections to get WCW a great, no amazing TV deal, we going to get Nitro back on TNT from 9 to 11. We'll also have a second show; Chaos, on TNT from 8 to 10. So boys and girls, it's Monday the 1st of January 2007 and the monday night war is about to start all over again, excited?

WCW Nitro Monday, Week 1, January 2007 WCW Nitro from the Arthur Ashe Athletic Centre in the Mid Atlantic in front of a sell out crowd of 5,000 We open to a sold out arena as we join the first Nitro of this new run for the WCW. In the ring stands Eric Bischoff. Bischoff: Ladies and Gentlemen, Welcome back to the greatest wrestling promotion in the world! It’s been a long time but we have arisen again damnit! And this time WCW is bigger and badder than ever before! This time we are going to dominate all over again but this time we’re not going to show any mercy to certain other promotions. I pledge that this time WCW will show the best wrestling in world bar none, and to kick that era off we are going to hold two tournament on Nitro and WCW’s new Thursday night show WCW Chaos to decide our respective World Heavyweight and United States Champions. In our World Heavyweight tournament you lucky people are going to see 8 men battle it out to become our champion…guys like… Vampiro Pop Sean O’Haire Pop Sid Vicious Pop You knew him as the show, Paul The Great Wight! Slightly bigger pop Booker T! Big Pop Chris Jericho! Bigger Pop Batista! Huge Pop (with some smark boos) And… There’s tension in the air as Bischoff eyes the crowd up and down with a smirk Pause Pause Goldberg! Massive Pop Bischoff: Now with that out of the way, let me introduce to you my broadcast partner and the man who helped bring WCW back from the dead…HULK HOGAN! HOGAN POP Sure enough Voodoo Child plays up and Hogan in a smart black suit (as while as a bandana for that bald spot) appears on the ramp. He strikes some poses before heading down to Bischoff. Hogan: Wow…wow, it’s great to be back folks, lemme tell ya, everything Eric said there was the truth, WCW is back and we endeavour to bring you the best and most entertaining in sports entertainment today. This is a great opportunity to make wrestling great again. I’m not going to say to much because I’m gonna have plenty of time to do that on commentary. Ladies and Gentlemen, Welcome to NITRO! Big pop as we cut to Nitro’s new intro video B+ for Bischoff’s opening, B+ for the announcement of Hogan After the intro ends we see Bischoff and Hogan have taken their spots at the commentary table. Hogan: What a night brother, what a night Bischoff: Indeed. And now we going to get things rolling straight away because the match you’re about to see is a warm up match for the United States tournament between Paul Birchill and Mark Jindrak Paul Birchill vs. Mark Jindrak in a warm up match for the United States Championship tournament *Birchill and Jindrak come in to polite pops but nothing spectacular, well; it’s been a while since they were on national television *The match started off in a technical match up but it wasn’t long before the popular pirate Birchill was frustrating Jindrak, who decided to turn this match into a good old heavyweight brawl *The finish came when Jindrak went for the mark of excellence but Birchill reversed it into the walk the plank aka the C-4 (Back flip Umage) Rating: D Nora Green vs. Cheerleader Melissa in a WCW Women’s championship match *Bischoff and Hogan put over the WCW Woman’s division, explaining it aimed to be the best in the world, based on talent, not ex-porn star looks (Yes, that’s a rip by Bischoff on Candice Michelle). They also explain how Nora Green (formerly Molly Holly) was awarded the Woman’s champion by a WCW Committee *Nora Green got a pop as most fans recognized her as Molly Holly from the WWE. Melissa had a smaller pop, but a pop. Pretty good for a girl who was never on a national stage before *The match was a straight up wrestling match, not an attempt to show off as much skin as possibly to the crowd. Melissa surprised the crowd with some stiff looking sidekicks throughout the match while Green impressed with some hard suplexs. *The finish came when Melissa Irish whipped Green off the ropes only to be caught in a Nora go round, (hurricanrana) *Nora Green retains the WCW Women’s title Rating C- The New Legion of Doom vs. High Impact *The new Legion of Doom is the reformed team of Jon Heidenreich and Road Warrior Animal. High Impact is the team of Cybrus and Hybrid, a team trained in Shawn Michael’s academy and developed in Deep South Wrestling. *This was a clash of “we don’t take no sh*t” teams and it turned quickly into a brawl which the LOD dominated though their size and power. Go figure. *It ended quickly enough after the LOD hit the doomsday device for the win Rating D Charlie Haas Vs. Venus in a warm up match for the United States Championship tournament *Venus is Val Venis if you didn’t guess *This was a pretty solid technical affair *Bischoff and Hogan made sure to put over a new, more aggressive, more vicious Haas in the ring *But also made sure the view didn’t think of Venus as no slouch either *There were suplexs, germens and submission hold galore in this one. *The finish came when Haas hit the Haastruction on Venus Rating C+ Shane Helms Vs. Juventud Guerrera in a WCW Cruiserweight championship match *Shane came out in his bad ass look but quickly got the fans on his side by high 5’ing all the way down the ramp *Juventud Guerrera didn’t follow Helms example and was a classic rúdo in shouting at the fans and threatening to punch their lights out *Bischoff and Hogan explain that because the lineage of WCW Cruiserweight is totally clear due to it never being merged with another belt that Helms was allowed take it with him when WCW bought back all it’s rights and titles. Helms, as champion, came with the belt. *Helms and Juventud engaged in good cruiserweight match that brought back memories of the good ole days of the division. A cool spot was when Juventud brought a chair into the ring. Juventud then swings it at Helms but he rolls out of the ring. Before the ref can take away the chair, Juvi sets it up in the centre of ring, bounces off the ropes and does an Air Juvi to Helms. However Juvi misses Helms and hits his back and head on the Guardrail. This is the turning point of the match *Helms later finished off Guerrera with a Shining Black to retain the WCW Cruiserweight title Rating C+ A video plays hyping all the wrestlers taking part in the World Heavyweight championship tournament A for the video After the video ends the camera opens on an ordinary backstage door. A Staff member knocks on it. Staff Member: Sir, it’s time Suddenly war drums sound and some very familiar music plays… Goldberg steps out of the door and begins his march to the ring. The camera flicks to the crowd Crowd: GOLD-BERG, GOLD-BERG Bischoff: It begins Hogan: Here we go brother…Da Man is going to make his presence known Goldberg appears at the top of the ramp to the wild cheers and roars of the crowd. The camera shows a sign the crowd: IT BEGINS AGAIN 1-0 And another: SORRY SID, YOU’RE NEXT! Rating: B+ Goldberg Vs Sid Vicious in a World Heavyweight Championship Tournament warm up match *Sid Vicious came out looking pretty badass and well toned, somewhat to the crowd’s surprise. They probably were unaware of some of his appearances in the indie feds around the country and Canada *Bischoff and Hogan sold this match up as a battle of two of the most powerful titans ever to step into the ring *This match was all power, with Goldberg breaking it up a little with some good brawling. The match started off with some tests of strengths put before long Sid started acting psycho. Next thing we know Sid is throwing Goldberg into the ring steps and ring post trying to wear him down. *Later on in the match Goldberg started to dominate and then got the spear, but while Goldberg was gesturing to the crowd Sid rolled to the outside and headed up the ramp *Goldberg won via count-out and looked pretty p*ssed off about it Rating: C+ After an ad break we see Chris Jericho in front of the camera in the backstage interview space. *Chris starts to cut a promo about how this is a new era for Y2J *He can’t wait to get back into that ring again after being away *His says this tournament is his time to take his rightful place in WCW History *And if he has to go though Booker T to do that, he will Rating: B+ We cut to Booker T in a different interview space *Booker T says it’s good to be back in his true kingdom of WCW *He tells us that tonight is a forerunner to the beginning of his new reign as WCW Champion *He reminds us that he is the one of, if not thee most decorated champion in WCW history *He says Jericho won’t be a problem in his plans, that the “sexy beast” is just another peasant to dispatch Rating: B+ Booker T Vs. Chris Jericho in a World Heavyweight Championship Tournament warm up match *These guys came out to a great pop, especially the returning Jericho *A nice, slow start with all the little great psychology moments such as the collar and elbow tie up struggle, Jericho giving Booker a clean break in the turnbuckle, Booker not returning the favour before Jericho got annoyed and gave Booker a slap right across the mouth, which Booker returned. They continued slapping each other until it turned to punches. Booker gained the advantage for a while *Later Jericho got his come back with a step up enziguri and followed up with some trademark moves such as his running Bulldog *The finish came when Booker went for a Book end after a low blow but Jericho reversed it and hit a reverse DDT, followed by a lionsault…which Booker rolled away from and then hit his Book End on Jericho for the win Rating: A End of Nitro Overall Rating: B+ (Ohhh Yeah) TV Rating: 14.24 on TNT

WCW Chaos Thursday, Week 1, January WCW Chaos from the Broadbent Arena in the Great Lakes in front of a sell crowd of 5,000 The WCW Chaos broadcast starts with a very dark themed intro video, suggesting an edgier show for tonight. Bischoff: Hello and welcome to the first ever broadcast of WCW Chaos! Joining with me tonight is former WCW champion and a legend in this business, DDP, Diamond Dallas Page! DDP: BANG! This isn’t a bad thing folks; it’s a GREAT THING! Ha ha Man its feels good to be home! DDP and Bischoff continue to introduce the show as “All the things she said” by Tatu begins to play as Lisa Marie Varon (Formerly the WWE’s Victoria) comes out to a mixed reaction from the crowd, boos from the marks, big cheers from the smarks. She is soon followed to the ring by Tina Ferrari (formerly the WWE’s Ivory). Lisa Marie Varon (LMV) Vs. Tina Ferrari *A pretty good pop for these beautiful women wrestlers. Bischoff and DDP point out that this match is going show how real women wrestle. *A sure enough LMV and Ferrari do not disappoint. LMV and Ferrari fought a pretty vicious match, mixing strong brawling with good technical skills. *And on top of that these women knew well how to work the crowd *Their combined years of experience was really shown well *The finish came when LMV got Ferrari up for the Widow’s Peak and hit it. The crowd gave a suitable “OOOOHhhhh” for the one of the sickest looking moves in wrestling today, that Gory Neckbreaker Rating: B- (O hell yeah) Saturn and Venus Vs. Rob Conway and Sylvain Grenier *Saturn and Venus are a sort of alliance in WCW. Conway and Grenier aren’t an official tag team, but the crowd is well aware of their past experience. *Bischoff and DDP put over Saturn as a man looking for revenge against the world, looking to prove himself by winning a WCW championship, and that mission begins tonight. *The match followed the tag team formula of Venus getting repeatedly cornered by Conway and Grenier who would double-team him before the tease of a tag. They did this a few times before Saturn came in and cleaned house. *The finish came when Saturn and Venus hit their tag team finisher, the Solar Crash, a shining wizard/glimmering warlock combo (a glimmering warlock is a shining wizard to the back of the head after jumping off the calves of the opponent’s leg) Rating: C- We cut to the backstage area for an interview. Mean Gene Okerlund stands ready for action. Mean Gene: Ladies and Gentlemen, I’m here go to get an interview with one of the most notorious men in wrestling today, folks, say hello to Syxx The camera turns to show Syxx (You may know him as X-Pac…) standing beside Mean Gene. Syxx: Hahaha Hey there Gene Genie *Mean Gene asks how Syxx feels about getting back into the WCW Cruiserweight division after years apart from it *Syxx says he hasn’t lost a step in the last few years, just ask Jerry Lynn and the X division (Whoever they are replies Mean Gene) *Syxx goes on to say he’s here to what he always does, to shake things up, do a little 4:20 and win sh*t *Mean Gene ask what Syxx makes of his opponent tonight, Ultimo Dragon *Syxx replies that Ultimo has a problem that a lot of people suffer from, he just doesn’t have the X factor (Whatever that is replies Mean Gene again) *It’s Syxx Syxx Syxx time apparently Rating: C+ Syxx Vs. Ultimo Dragon *Syxx comes out to a pretty great pop *Sadly for Ultimo his is considerably less. If any of them had seen or heard of his Toryumon X promotion the place would blow the roof off *The match was ok, but I was kinda hoping for more. Dragon’s pop of just D was holding him back I guess. *However Ultimo Dragon’s mind-blowing array of moonsaults won him many fans in the crowd. *Syxx ability to get technical and dirty seemed to stop Dragon’s momentum though. *Syxx worked on Ultimo Dragon’s legs before whipping his ass with the X-factor/Buzz killer Rating: C A video hyping the World Heavyweight Championship Tournament plays Rating: B+ We return to a very dark room. Across from the camera sits a tough looking guy with his hands in front of his face, his arched fingers touching each other. On his wrists he has some familiar looking badass spider tattoos… It’s Sean O’Haire *Sean goes on to name out the seven deadly sins…and then questions why we view them as so called “sins”. *He says the definition of a sin is something which offends God, but Sean thinks a sin is just something people find controversial *He says people couldn’t handle his views in certain other promotions, but here in Chaos things are a little more relaxed *He says he free to suggest certain actions to people without fear of censorship or punishment, this is Eric Bischoff’s promotion after all. *He says he’s going to introduce us all (the audience and crowd) to the dark side of life *“And the scarcest things of all…you’ll probably all enjoy it” *But Hey, I'm not telling you anything you didn’t already know We fade to black on O’Haire devilish smile Rating: C+ Ad break Sean O’Haire Vs Jon Heidenreich in a non-head to head warm up match for the World Heavyweight Championship Tournament *Heidenreich comes out to a ok pop, but O’Haire, man did that promo win over the crowd, this kid is going to be big…FAST *It seemed the women in the crowd were particularly won over by the promo, or perhaps it’s his sexy new look since the last time he appeared on WWE *O’Haire’s theme music is Sympathy for the Devil by The Rolling Stones and The Neptunes, very sexy. *The match got off to the usual start, O’Haire and Heidenreich going for standard brawl. *It was too long before Heidenreich got O’Haire in the corner and he used an improved looking version of his heavy punches combo *A little later O’Haire knocked Heidenreich down with his trademark senton clothesline and then got Heidenreich in a camel clutch. O’Haire then started to shout into Heidenreich’s ear about little Johnny (Part of his insane gimmick at the WWE) *This upset Heidenreich…or p*ssed him off, I can’t tell which because he broke the hold and start whipping O’Haire ass after that…even getting in a brutal looking powerbomb *However O’Haire made a comeback after a low blow *The finish came when O’Haire somehow managed to lift Heidenreich up and hit the Widow Maker (DDP: Bang! Damn Bisc…that’s not a good thing for Heidenreich…). O’Haire used the ropes for leverage during his pin on Heidenreich Rating: C+ We cut to a video clip. The clip brings us to a graveyard. The camera slowly moves forward through the darkness. In the distant we can hear the sound of dirt being shovelled. A dark figure can be seen digging away as we move ever closer to him. The camera moves so that we can three open graves. The figure is standing in the third one to the left. The camera goes right, looking at the gravestone in front of the first grave VAMPIRO ???? To Never The second Sean O’Haire 1976 to 2007 Shouldn’t have joined WCW with a black heart Daddy O’Haire R.I.P. And finally the third Jamie Noble Born: 1977 Nailed in the Coffin: 4 January 2007 R.I.P. The camera moves backwards to show the figure again. The figure removes a hood but his face is still turned away from the camera. Figure: So much work to do…but no rest for the wicked. Can’t let the evil reign…not while this shadow lives VAMPIRO IS HERE…. Rating C- Vampiro Vs. Jamie Noble in a non-head to head warm up match for the World Heavyweight Championship Tournament *Noble has an ok pop, but Vampiro’s is much better *It’s gotta be said, Vampiro has a pretty cool aura about him *This was a pretty cool match because both men are great all rounders who know how to tear things up *Vampiro and Noble brawled up and down the ring for a bit, hitting the occasional move like a DDT even now and again *Things got pretty cool when mid way through the match Noble threw Vampiro to the outside and then went for a no hands flip plancha over the top rope, which Vampiro avoided *Vampiro then threw Noble into the guardrail and climbed up to the top rope and came down with a somersault leg drop *Vampiro pulled Noble into the ring for a pin but somehow Noble kicked out *Vampiro and Noble brawled for a bit more until Vampiro got a snap Suplex, then a tornado DDT out of the corner before ending it with the nail in the coffin Rating: B Sid Vicious Vs. Road Warrior Animal *This was an impromptu match up when Sid attacked Animal backstage and dragged a ref after him *Animal and Sid brawled all the way down the ramp and into the ring *Animal had a bit of a comeback for a while *If Dusty was here, he’d say they be clubbering, clubbering, clubbering *Animal got Sid down and called for the powerbomb (Pop) *But Sid got a low blow and the master of the powerbomb destroyed Animal with the supreme force of a Sid Vicious powerbomb Rating: C We cut to the backstage where Mean Gene is standing by with non other than Chris Jericho *Jericho says that Booker’s win over Y2J was a minor set back and that when they meet again for the real deal he’s going to make him cry out to the walls *But tonight isn’t about Booker, it’s about the ayatollah of Rock and Rollah versus Juventud Guerrera *Jericho says he beat Juvi plenty of times back in the old WCW and tonight will be no different, just watch *In fact, Jericho says that Booker might just want to keep an eye on this match Chris Jericho Vs. Juventud Guerrera *"The Juice” Juvi Guerrera came out to a good pop, but the house rocked for Y2J *This match didn’t take long to kick off as Juventud decided it would be better to kick Jericho’s ass now rather than later so he gave Jericho a nice looking running dropkick *From that point on Juvi and Jericho traded big moves between each other *Things came to head when Juvi got Jericho with a leaping DDT and then a 450* splash, however, instead of going for a pin the ****y Juventud decided it be fun to lock Jericho in the walls! *Juventud pulled Jericho up for the walls and looked like he had them put then Jericho started to wiggle furiously. Juventud found it hard to hang on so he turned the walls into an elevated single leg Boston crab. This proved a bad move by Juvi because Jericho managed to turn his body around and hit an enziguri! *Jericho then hit a series of moves on Juventud before finishing off with a Lionsault for the 1,2,3 Rating: B End of Chaos Overall Rating: C+ TV Rating: 19.52

WCW Nitro Monday, Week 2, January WCW Nitro Pre show: Billy Kidman Vs. Red Misterio - Red Misterio is The Amazing Red. When Bischoff failed to get Rey Mysterio for WCW, he decided to just get “the next best thing”. Red and Rey are known to have similar styles and in fact Rey’s 619 was invented by Red. Rey asked Red if it was ok to use it and Red agreed - This match was just to see what kind of rating Red could pull out. I’m taking into consideration that his popularity is pretty low, with just three Es and most F+s running though his pop. Bar - Kidman is pretty experienced so he should guide Red right though this match - They didn’t disappoint really. The finish came when Kidman hit the shooting star press (and thank God didn’t botch it…) Rating: D+ Main Show Lisa Marie Varon Vs. Tina Ferrari - The women impressed me so much with their last match I had to see if they could pull it off again - Sure enough LMV and Ferrari used their experience and talent to create an interesting and entertaining match - The story of the match was that Ferrari was getting the upper hand until LMV whipped Ferrari hard into the corner. This knocked Ferrari down hard and LMV followed up quickly by smashing Ferrari’s leg on the ring post. After that all LMV’s attack were based on destroying that damaged leg - A cool spot was when LMV pulled Ferrari up to the corner after a DDT and locked in a vicious looking turnbuckle aided sharpshooter ala Hart Vs Austin submission match at Wrestlemania - The finish came when LMV locked in a figure four leglock and Ferrari just had no choice Rating: B- A video plays hyping the US Championship tournament. It goes though all the competitors in it- Orlando Jordan - Paul Birchill - Mark Jindrak - Psicosis - Saturn - Chris Kanyon - Venus - Charlie Haas Rating: D United States Championship Tournament Round 1 Paul Birchill Vs. Mark Jindrak - The US Tournament officially starts tonight with this match - Birchill came out with a smile but an aura of seriousness was on him as he got into the ring, perhaps reminded of the last time he faced Jindrak in a match - Jindrak came out and was immediately on his case, pointing and shouting at him as he approached the ring - Forearm shots, elbows and stiff punches were all key in this match as the two heavyweights went for round two, but this time with a prize on the line - Still Birchill found time to get aerial on Jindrak, throwing in a flying elbow into the mix and then later an impressive looking slingshot Suplex - Birchill wore down Jindrak throughout the match until finally he put him away with the Walk the Plank Rating: D+ United States Championship Tournament Round 1 Psicosis Vs. Orlando Jordan - This is another US Tournament match so there’s a lot on the line - The rookie OJ is meeting quite the challenge in former 2 time WCW Cruiserweight Champion Psicosis - Psicosis is still in Mexicool like attire, but thankfully we didn’t make him come out in a lawnmower - This match was a clash of two styles, the aerial prowess of Psicosis versus the vicious brawling of OJ - Psicosis took the lead early on by arm dragging OJ all around the ring before flipping him a few times and landing moves such as running sentons and spinning heel kicks - But OJ battled back. OJ did this by exposing the turnbuckle and whipping Psicosis into it, then following up with a choke - OJ got in a slam type moves after that - But OJ’s offence fell apart when he whipped Psicosis off the ropes and went for side slam only to get send crashing by a Hurricanrana - After that it wasn’t long before OJ was taken out by the Guillotine Legdrop Rating: D+ Jamie Noble Vs Ultimo Dragon - Both men lost their last match so both were looking to get things back on track in the WCW - Both men locked up to start this match and Noble tried to turn this into his a strong point for him and a weak one for Dragon…a brawl. The ref was admonishing Noble for the closed fist but they just kept flying right into Ultimo Dragon’s face - However Ultimo Dragon started to use some cruiserweight flips and jumps to avoid Noble before unloading with his trademark sidekicks - They then did the Lucha libre thing of “you run at me and I’ll sidestep it and push against the ropes then repeat” before Ultimo Dragon ended that with a springboard moonsault - Ultimo thought he had it and went for this back flip into Reverse DDT finisher but Noble caught UD with a reverse DDT of his own midway through the move Rating: C WCW Cruiserweight Championship Match: Syxx Vs. Shane Helms - It was time for the most popular of the cruiserweights to clash - Both guys are pretty damn popular with the crowd…well, Syxx being heel popular anyway… - This match had a lot of different types of moves; Helms was putting out hard suplexes left and right along with running elbow smashes while Syxx was throwing kicks, neckbreakers and diving moves off the top rope - A spot was when Syxx went for a hurricanrana but Helms reversed it into a twirl-a-whirl backbreaker - Helms hit a diving knee after that before sending Syxx to the back with a Vertebreaker Rating: B- OOC: Damn straight…it’s good to see these cruiserweights getting a rating like that, but is there a darker tale to the story… We now cut to the Nitro backstage interview space where Mean Gene Okerlund is standing by - Mean Gene welcomed the fans and then introduced his interviewee as a World Heavyweight Championship contender, a man out to prove himself, he is the animal…Batista - Batista is in his ring gear and rearing to go by the looks of it - Mean Gene asks Batista about his feelings about the World Tournament - Batista says he has no before had an opportunity like this, to go against some of the greatest wrestlers in the world, one on one, fairly, in such a competition like this - Batista says he’s here to prove to everyone who says he’s not on world level that he is - Mean Gene asks if the new leaner and meaner Paul The Great Wight will prove an obstacle to this - Batista says he respects the power of the world largest competitor but he going to do in that ring what he does to everyone, demolish them in front of thousands of people, and that all the Nitro fans are going to see that tonight Rating: B- Batista leaves and is replaced by The Great Wight himself - Wight calls Batista a punk who has overstepped his reach - He says that it’s the reign of the Great Wight which is about to begin tonight, not the Animals - He says that Batista is nothing more than a two time World Heavyweight loser - Wight says that wherever he goes he becomes a Champion and things aren’t about to change - Wight vows to eat Batista and well…Sh*t him out (Heel Pop) Rating: B+ World Heavyweight Championship Tournament Round 1 Batista Vs Paul The Great Wight - It’s time for two of WCW’s heaviest hitters to come out and 187 murder each other in the ring - It’s going to be the Animal Batista versus The Great White Shark Paul Wight - Hogan found it pretty easier putting over Wight, not surprising as many see Wight as a protégé of the Hulkster - Bischoff was more comfortable in putting over Batista - Which is all a little weird because Bischoff is the heel and Hogan the face… - Anyway, the action in the ring was pretty all right. The 410 lbs of Wight spent the match trying to throw the 305 lbs Batista around the ring. He succeed sometimes like when he threw Batista into the corner and started chopping and sometimes it didn’t and ended up getting a Lariat to the face - A cool spot was when Batista was against the ropes and Wight went for a Big Boot but Batista moved out of the way leaving Wight saddled on the ropes. Batista then bounced off the other ropes and nail Wight with a running shoulder block that knocked him to the outside. Nice - The finish came when Batista managed to hit a Spine Buster on Wight for the 1,2,3 Rating: B- The camera cuts to the backstage. He stands up and straightens his trench coat. O’Haire: I was in a very important meeting Bischoff… Bischoff: Well sorry to break up your attempt to nail Wilson O’Haire but I got a main event to run O’Haire: Mr. Bischoff, if you took a careful look at my contract you’d see a clause which very clearly states that I may refuse competition to any competitor who fails to meet up to the quality of normal WCW programming…and the…man…you want me to face tonight does not meet the WCW standard. Bischoff: Listen O’Haire, I agree with you totally in principle, but the problem is he won his warm up, he’s shown that he can get it done, he’s just about met the standard, now you must also. O’Haire: You owe me Bischoff O’Haire turns to look down the corridor to Vampiro O’Haire: I’ll see you out there Freak Rating: B Ad break World Heavyweight Championship Tournament Round 1 Vampiro Vs. Sean O’Haire - The two dark forces of WCW are now colliding on Nitro - Hogan made the important note of “Why do I feel this should be happening on Chaos…” - Vampiro and O’Haire came out to good pop and had a good old stare off in the ring before it was brawl time - In and out of the ring they beat the crap out of each other. O’Haire made sure to ram Vampiro’s skull off the ring post a few times before Vampiro sent O’Haire crashing into the ring steps - Things got fun when O’Haire put Vampiro though the Spanish Announcers’ table with a Fireman carry DDT (POP) - But Vampiro surprised O’Haire with the Nail in the Coffin that O’Haire managed to kick out of - They brawled some more until O’Haire got a rolling Fireman’s slam off the second rope that led up to the Widow Maker Rating: B We end on a hype video for the rest of the World Heavyweight Championship Tournament A Overall: B TV Rating: 14.39

Liking this so far. Also loving the fact that you're focusing so much on O'Haire and Vampiro as they're two of the more interesting characters in WCW. I'm a pretty big O'Haire mark and was kinda gutted that WWE couldn't do anything with him. Only criticism I'd have is that Nitro doesn't feel like Nitro. I'm guessing the biggest names you've got are Batista, Goldberg, Jericho and Booker and only one of them appeared on what is the "A" show. That aside, I really like the feel of this dynasty so I'm definately gonna keep an eye on this one.

Do you want to know the truth brother? I botched the Tournaments. See the plan was to have guys like Batista, Goldberg, Booker and Jericho make up the main event of Nitro and Chaos to be the darker show featuring guys like O'Haire and Vampiro...however this ass clown got the tournament order wrong thus why we had the "warm up matches"...yeah. So don't worry, don't you fret, Nitro and Chaos will feel right once we finish the tournaments at our first PPV, WCW Redemption. Thanks for the feedback, it really helps me out and i quite enjoy hearing what people have to say, good or bad. Also i should state now that the future of WCW for the next few short years is in O'Haire. I think he's an excellent preformer who didn't get his chance at WWE to go to the limit. They gave him a great gimmick, but it was mistake to pair him with Piper. Piper is a legend but didn't help O'Haire get over. Also, after Piper left the writing team gave up on O'Haire. Stupid random attacks do not get people over. It's a shame he didn't debut on RAW because his gimmick was more suited to that brand. Anyway, O'Haire's tale shall be one of...Redemption :)
