Fans liking the show

Recommended Posts

How in the heck do you guys get the fans to like your shows. No matter what kind of show I put on the fans hate it. Today I had an 11 match show: All the main fights ended in knockouts in the first round, had 4 four star matches, 3, 3 stars, and then rest either one or two. I look at the feedback on the show, and the crowd was upset with the show they got, and it was underwhelming. This happens in almost every show. HELP!!!!

What company are you running, and how anticipated were the matches? Are you following the advice given on the booking screen? I've only really played properly with WEFF but the fans generally like my shows... my booking strategy: Main event of two people who are coming off a win (this is IMPORTANT!!) with a high or very high interest level. Semi-main with appropriate interest level - be careful. If your main is high, your semi-main should normally be above average, but this is NOT guaranteed - when you've booked it, you need to check that the advice says it's a good match, because if you've got a main event which is near very high interest and your semi-main is at the bottom end of above average it'll get overshadowed. Make sure you have at least one match with 2 guys or girls with excitement value of at least good. (Can sometimes get away with one decent one good at a push, again, check the advice doesn't tell you that you don't have an exciting crowd-pleasing match booked) Don't put two dull fighters together - this seems to vary slightly, I think it's two of mediocre or below but again the advice key is your friend here... Hope that helps somewhat... EDIT: Also, by your match ratings and the size of the card, it looks like you're with GAMMA or ALPHA-1 - remember they're already extremely popular and therefore will have high expectations, so that may be why they're disappointed.

I am playing the UFC mod, Tap or Snap 3. What do you mean by booking suggestions? I usually go to the a meeting, and I pick the top match, and then go from there. It's pretty annoying, because on my PPV's the crowd hates it, but on my normal television show the crowd is usually pleased, and I put second tier fighters on the card like in real life. On my last show I had two title changes, by knockouts in the first round, I had three other fights in a row where it was a knockout in the first round, and then the rest were usually knock outs in the second round, or three round decisions.
Yeah I use that.
fighters need to have a high excitement stat and/or be very popular in order to get high star matches but it is pretty dumb that you can have a bunch of fights end in the first round in under a minute with a brutal head kick or flying foot stomp yet it gets a "dud" rating

This is most likely dependent on your popularity level. I've never used the database you're using, but I'm just taking a hunch here that UFC is abnormally popular (85%? 90%? 95%?) and that's why fans are finding your shows "underwhelming." It's not whether you put on a good show, it's more about whether you put on a show that is up to your popularity's standard. And another thing. You'll do far better in the game without cards featuring 11 matches. Quality over quantity is key.

I made my own promotion and I have had excellent popularity almost everywhere, you have to have a five star main event or co-main event, I have the same problem, I have had hugely successful cards only to have the fans hate it, try booking only exciting fighters for your main event fights, there has to be a lot of hype and you have to get a five star match.

I have a question: How many crappy fights can you allow yourself to have on each card? As a custom huge org, I had 1 V. high rated match, 1 high match, 2 above average matches and then about 5 matches rated average to low. The fans HATED the show, just plain HATED it! What gives? Does the interest rating actually mean something besides attracting more fans? Does the interest rating accurately depict how many stars a fight might be given? If so, how the hell am I gonna build up the 0-0 fighters that have excellent stats if I can't pair them up against other no-namers to build up a win record for them?
