This may have been posted, but I couldn't find anything on it. I think one thing missing is ratings for each segment. I don't mean like a grade, but you get a rating for the show. Like say RAW does a 3.7 during hour 1, 3.9 during hour 2. They have ratings for every 15 minutes I believe. This would help to show what segments are working for the fans, and which ones are not. Just because a segment or match gets a high percentage, that doesn't always mean the ratings will be high. The wrestlers may not be over, and this could have a huge impact on the rating. Take the women of TNA wrestling, they do some of the highest ratings during their segments, but for the WWE they do as well.
Akki explained what I meant. I knew about the half hour rating, but it would be nice to have it for the segment part. Like I said before, it helps to know what is getting a good rating and what isn't.
I think 15-min ratings would be the closest thing. Really, the only segment that I know of that is referred to by its own rating is Rock's "This is Your Life" segment. I think that's only because it lasted about 15 mins anyway. Other than that, the closest thing I've heard is the Mankind title win 600,000 person switchover.
I always get butchered by Jimmy Kimmel in my second half-hour. Damn him and his hilarious girlfriend Sarah Silverman, and their affairs with Matt Damon and Ben Affleck!
"I'm fking Matt Damon!" "I'm fking Ben Afflect!" Harrison Ford's blown kiss was gold.

I am not sure who to give credit for this too because it is on all wrestling news sites: "Here are the quarter hour ratings for last Thursday's iMPACT!: 1.08, 1.05, 1.03, 1.02, 1.12, 0.92, 1.14 and 1.02. Apparently, viewers tuned out after the Angelina Love vs. Awesome Kong match. The Knockouts match drew a 1.14 rating, and the heavily hyped Kurt Angle vs. Kevin Nash main event match preceding it plunged the rating down to a 1.02." As you can see, it gives quarter hour ratings, and explains how the viewers stopped watching once the divas match was over. This would help gamers book their matches. Maybe another diva match or segment would push the ratings up a little more.

This seems very redundant. The stated aim is "This would help to show what segments are working for the fans, and which ones are not.", but you already know this - the segment grade tells you what works and what doesn't work, as that's what the grade is, it's a measure of what is pleasing the fans and what isn't. Having the rating broken down by segment wouldn't tell you anything further, it would be the exact same information just in a different format.

Sometimes poor segments do very strong ratings. Take John Cena's segments right now. He is hate by many, and would rate his segments low, but people just watch to see what he will do. So, the ratings do go up, and when he is off, the ratings dip. It is just to make the game a little bit more real. Because you rate a segment or match, but then you have the actual rating during the segment/match.

I think that TV ratings are so unpredictable in real life (blackouts, forces of nature, preemptions, etc.), that to make them totally realistic there would have to be a huge change in how they are actually calculated, rather than how they are shown. I don't understand your Cena argument. The segment rating in the game is objective. The closest thing to subjectivity is in terms of product (as that pretty much describes the fans of the promotion). I think that in terms of WWE's product, Cena, or really anyone else cutting a promo, fits fine. Sure, his stats might be subjective because of the modder, but in terms of the game, it's an objective stat. It's not how good people in the game think he is, it's how good the data says he is. So if he has good stats, in a product that suits him (like WWE), his rating would be good. That in turn would add to the final rating of the show, and to the TV rating. The only thing in the game that would make fans outright dislike a worker (not just heel dislike) is if he was a bad fit for the product.

The Diva thing is something that was in TEW before, but brought down a bit in '07... Something I thought was a mistake, but with all the other improvements, how could anyone complain? Meaning... Wrestling fans love sexy women... Just because a pillow fight does great on WWE, doesn't mean it was a sucky segment. It was there for "eye appeal". It works too. TNA is similar... They have better skills, but I don't even care... I just want to see well built woman in sexy wrestling attire. That's not really me, but it is something I hear quite allot from friends. "BRING ON THE WOMAN!!" A whole show would probably not work as good, but with only a match or two, it doesn't get old. However... Far as the OP's actual question... The Segments break it down. Far as the Cena thing. He's WWE's main guy.. Of course he gets better ratings.
