Mod Making Chatter Part 3

OK I know it doesn't make sense so how about I put it this way: When it comes to pictures be it worker or logo or belt would you rather have a picture of them no matter the quality (parts blocked, fuzzy, really out of date), or does the default blank one work, or do you wait/remove them if you don't have a good picture? The second part to this is do you use the workers in your own games if they do not have a picture? (game generated workers excluded)

OK, now for my opinion. I do like to have a worker pic if possible but I do not want it to be very bad quality. I can tolorate fuzzy/blurry to a point, but ones that are way zoomed out bodies or those sneaky nose up shots :p dont cut it for me. When it comes to title belts I can make do with the generic ones as you dont really see them a lot in the game. If I am running a promotion it has to have a real logo. I can't stand looking at that blank generic one. As for in-game I actually tend to stay away from picture-less workers. I consider myself a visual person and I like to see their pics in the bios and when you run the macthes.

I don't like bad quality shots, no matter how accurate they are in terms of timeline. I also go back and forth on what style of cut I like. The new trend of having the cut take up nearly the whole BG and show mostly the head is not my cup of tea. I prefer a further back shot that gives a more proportioned view and allows you to see the workers shirt, chest, etc. Not sure why, but the others seem awkward to me. Example: vs Similarly to you, I find myself staying away from workers without pictures. I despise seeing the news updates while simming that show a worker with a missing pic! Edit: All four of those are cuts I did so as to avoid criticizing anyone else's work.

If I find a bad cut in a game I'm playing, or a worker that doesn't have a pic, I'll try to go out and find one. I even have a big folder of renders from the Render Thread that I use for newly generated workers, and I think they still look pretty good next to real life pic (although next to C-Verse pic they look totally normal). If I can't find a better cut, I'll just try to clean up the one that's there, with some photo editting. I agree with Justtxyank in that the face-only pics kinda bother me. On the other hand, I can live with it if a worker doesn't have a pic. It's hard for me to think of gimmicks and pushes, though, so sometimes I'll just assign a random pic if the mood strikes me.

I don't mind low quality pictures too much providing I can pretty much make out the worker, and some lesser known workers it is pretty impossible to find good quality pics of them. I have a hard time playing a game using guys without pictures simply because I like to see what I am dealing with. I don't mind if the picture is a bit out of date but I hate playing an old mod and seeing really new pics in them. Oh yeah, and I prefer a medium close up (head and shoulders) over just a face pic. Some of the face pics I've seen are such ridiculous close ups that they even cut off the top of the head so really you just gets eyes, nose, mouth and chin. I understand that it may be necessary in some circumstances if good pictures are hard to find, but I think sometimes people take it a bit far.

I'd prefer good quality pics, but any pic over no pic. And I'll agree with the full head vs zoomed back a bit point everyone's making; I'd prefer the worker not take up the majority of the BG with his head. It makes people look like mutants, although maybe just a bit.
