I re-did my entire database, and am starting my first diary with it. This will be a present day diary, so it "begins" as of 3/7/08. LOCK UP was organized by Riki Choshu and was essentially the sequel to his Riki Pro independent promotion, but with New Japan wrestlers added. Focusing on the very basics of professional wrestling, stiff and physical action, LOCK UP was promoted with the idea of bringing fans as close to the severity of professional wrestling as possible. It also allowed New Japan's young wrestlers a new stage on which to study their craft, and gave them the unique chance to face many different types of wrestlers they normally wouldn't be able to battle. Still running many shows, and have frequent indy involvement. WRESTLE LAND WRESTLE LAND was created with the intent of showing "entertainment pro wrestling", the colorful American style, stressing storylines, characters, and individuality, without forgetting the in-ring side. Two of New Japan's most marketable wrestlers, Hiroshi Tanahashi and Tiger Mask, were appointed as aces of the project, and soon found themselves with new enemies, as Kantaro Hoshino revived his Makai Club in an attempt to take over WRESTLE LAND. The WRESTLE LAND brand would also allow various New Japan wrestlers to study the "character" side of professional wrestling to help them with their growth. Has been on hiatus since May of 2007, and its current status is unknown.

Big NJC news, Rhino out, Samoa Joe in + full cards! by Dean - 7 Mar 08 The TNA Offices released some big news today: Rhino, who was scheduled to face Manabu Nakanishi in the first round of the New Japan Cup, was unable to work out certain issues with management and must be pulled from the tournament. Feeling obligated to find a replacement, TNA officials assigned Samoa Joe to fill Rhino's spot in the NJC. NJPW officials agreed to the change, and for the first time ever, the "Samoan Submission Machine" will step foot in a New Japan ring. Also, full cards for the first round of the tournament have been released. Cards for the second round shows will be announced once the first round has been completed.
